My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I just love the Oscar and Emmy series! The way Sabol addresses everyday issues and concerns relating to animals and pets but does it such a way that is age-appropriate for children is simply fantastic. I love that her books are honest yet optimistic and hopeful. I appreciate that she writes from the children’s perspectives but still gives voice to the parents. The illustrations are fantastic. I cannot recommend these books and this series enough!

I absolutely adored “Oscar and Emmy Foster Kittens” by Terri Sabol. This heartwarming story follows Oscar and Emmy, two loving cats who take on the role of nurturing three bottle-fed kittens from the local animal shelter. The author does a fantastic job of detailing the first three months of kitten development and showing how important it is for people, including children, to play a role in saving animal lives through fostering.

I loved how the family, with the help of Oscar and Emmy, prepare the foster kittens to be adopted by other families. The bond between the cats and the kittens is beautifully portrayed, and it’s heartwarming to see the love and care they provide for the little ones.

5 Stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Oscar and Emmy Foster Kittens is a wonderful children’s book with beautiful illustrations and has valuable teaching lesson to go along. Learning the value of fostering an animal is very important and as Abby and Charlie embrace wanting to help their local shelter foster kittens for the first time to help them be social and adoptable.

I love the lessons that this story teaches and how there may be a lot of work in fostering but it is also valuable to not only the kittens (or any animal), but also helps the shelters as well. Although this story is more for ages 5-10….I highly recommend this story even for the young at heart. This is a wonderful story.

Terri Sabol is an accomplished children’s book author, renowned for her heartwarming and entertaining stories featuring the real-life adventures of her two beloved rescue kittens, Oscar and Emmy. Born and raised in Texas, Terri developed a love of writing and storytelling at a young age, and always dreamed of one day becoming an author. Thinking that was out of reach, she focused on her other dream… teaching.

After graduating from college with a Masters degree in education, Terri worked as an early childhood teacher, and it was during this time that her passion for picture books truly blossomed. She was inspired by the joy and wonder that children experienced when reading and listening to stories, and it was this love for inspiring young minds that led her to create her own series of children’s books.

Terri’s debut book, “Oscar and Emmy Get Rescued”, was published in 2016, and told the heartwarming story of how she came to adopt her two kittens from the animal shelter where she volunteered. The book was an instant hit with children and parents alike, and it quickly became clear that there was a demand for more stories featuring Oscar and Emmy and to help educate children on the importance being involved in pet care.

Over the years, Terri has continued to write new books in the series, each one capturing the unique personalities and quirks of her two adventurous cats. Her books not only entertain children, but also promote the values of compassion and kindness towards animals, as well as the importance of rescue and adoption.

In addition to her Oscar and Emmy series, Terri has also written several other books showing off her writing skills, including “Green With Envy” and “Kneading a Winning Idea”.

When she’s not writing, Terri can be found spending time with her two rescue kitties, Oscar and Emmy. She also loves travelling and exploring new places and visiting old favorites, all the while taking inspiration for her next book. Through her stories, Terri hopes to inspire children to explore the world around them, to embrace their imaginations, to never give up on their goals, and to always be kind and compassionate towards others, especially animals.

This is a fun, colorful book with a different take on mermaids. Each page talks about a different kind or mermaid and how unique they are and with different tail designs. It is a beautifully illustrated book celebrating the uniqueness of each mermaid tail as well. In addition to a fun story coming through the pages, the author also included facts about the ocean and other sea animals, so there is also a fun educational element! Fay’s Kindness Parade (The Adventures of Cray Series Book #5) by G Pa Rhymes – Review by Angela Hayes

Fay's Kindness Parade (The Adventures of Cray)Fay’s Kindness Parade by G Pa Rhymes
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

4.5 Stars

Fay’s Kindness Parade is the fifth book in The Adventures of Cray series by G Pa Rhymes. This is such a cute series of books and I have really enjoyed reading the charming books with my young grandchildren- Cray, Hay, Gray, Fay, and Ray have such fun adventures, and always learn something along the way.
This story sees Cray the crab set off on an adventure with Fay the turtle when she sets off on her annual migration. All their other friends had plans, and Fay didn’t want Cray to be alone, so she invited him along. They set out and immediately begin doing small acts of kindness, making new friends along the way. Through their acts of kindness, they spread love and good vibrations, and as their new friends join them, a parade is formed.
This was such a lovely story that also imparts messages of being kind, helping others, teamwork, friendship/making friends, compassion, empathy, contributing to the community, enriching lives, and facts about turtle migration.
Again, this fun story is accompanied by lots of lovely, bright, colourful, interesting, and engaging illustrations — which help to bring the whole story to life.
G. Pa Rhymes tells another really cute tale in his clever rhyming/rapping storytelling style, which adds an extra element of interest to the whole story.
Easy to read. Educational. Fun. Interesting. A cast of endearing animal friends. Wonderful illustrations. Cute story. Well worth the read.
The series contains (so far)…
-A New Day for Cray (Book #1)
-Cray Saves the Day (Book #2)
-Beach Ball Blunder (Book #3)
-Hay Goes Home (Book #4)
-Fay’s Kindness Parade (Book #5)
Looking forward to more adventures with Cray.
Happy Reading…

Thank you, G Pa Rhymes!

I absolutely love reading about all of Loretta’s adventures with my little one, that includes this one 🥰 I have a whole bunch of fireflies where we live and I can’t wait til they start to come out. We love running around trying to catch them. And after reading this I learned a new way to draw them in, that I can’t wait to use lol. It was a quick read but very interesting and informative. As always I love these little tidbits at the end of the books. This one gave me some facts I didn’t know and I’m glad to know them now. I know these are for manly for little ones (which mine loves them) but I love them also and can’t wait for more!!🥰

This is another fantastic addition to the Cray’s Adventure series. In this book, Fay the Turtle has to make her way to warmer waters for the winter and along the way spreads kindness by helping out her fellow creatures. I love the sing-songy nature that Rhymes writes in. It gives the story such a nice flow and rhythm to read out loud in that children love. The lessons that kids will get from this book (and all of the others) are lifelong. The illustrations are fabulous, brilliant, and so vibrant that they will capture the attention of children and adults alike. I’m also a huge fan of the discussion points at the end of the books.
