Back in the Ring (The Predator Series Book 4) by Brooke May – Review by Krista Beck

Back in the RingBack in the Ring by Brooke May
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Back in the Ring is a great second chance love story. Bijou is raising her daughter and trying to keep the youth center open after losing her husband. Noah is the hot single dad that just moved to town. He is also learning to move on after losing his wife. When the two meet, the connection is instant. This was just a sweet story. I have not read the other books in the series and had no problem reading it as a stand alone. However, I have very intention of reading the other books now.

Feathers – A Novel by Kylie Stewart – Review by Krista Beck

Feathers - A NovelFeathers – A Novel by Kylie Stewart
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I enjoyed Hawk and Lottie’s story so much! Rescued from a terrible situation, Lottie finds herself living with other rescued girls at Mrs. Ames house. Lottie meets Hawk, Mrs. Ames grandson. Lottie and Hawk see a broken soul in each other and develop a friendship. With their 7 year age difference can it ever be more? This was such a great story with gear characters. I love that Lottie over comes the hand she was dealt and works so hard to not let her past define her.

Seraphina’s Awakening (The Seraphina Series #1) by Sheena Hutchinson – Review by Krista Beck

Seraphina's Awakening (Seraphina, #1)Seraphina’s Awakening by Sheena Hutchinson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Seraphina has been having vivid dreams since she turned 18. But are they really just dreams? Especially when she sees the man from her dreams? Strange things begin to happen to her and around her. Things she cannot explain. People she cannot explain. But Nate, the man from her dreams, can provide the needed answers. This isn’t my usual kind of read, but I really enjoyed this book! Good versus evil at its best! I can’t wait to read the next book!

WTF, God?: Understanding God in the Midst of Transition by Michelle N. Onuorah – Review by Krista Beck

WTF, God?: Understanding God in the Midst of TransitionWTF, God?: Understanding God in the Midst of Transition by Michelle N. Onuorah
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

WTF God is one woman’s journey on her relationship with the Lord and her faith. I think we are all guilty of making plans for our lives and expecting them to go that exact way. Sometimes our plans don’t work out. Not just walking by faith, but in faith is an important part of life for a lot of people. One of my favorite parts of this book is when she is at her friend’s house and she can’t find the gift she brought with her. She’s searching through the car and it is the thing that sends her over the edge. She is so mad with God at everything that has or hasn’t happened. She finally lets go and screams at God. It’s part of having a relationship. Sometimes we get angry. That’s how my relationship with Him works. I love that she addresses that and says that its okay. This is just a great story of how God has plans for us and if we would just sit still and listen, we will know what to do.

Surviving Grace: Book Five by Virginia Wine – Review by Krista Beck

Surviving Grace: Book Five ( Surviving Series)Surviving Grace: Book Five by Virginia Wine
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

The last installment of the Surviving Series follows Grace as she works at reclaiming her life back. Moving in with Nichole and her brother, Will, changes things for Grace and the direction her life is taking. As she makes peace with her past and looks to a possible future with Will, her parents have the potential to put it in jeopardy. I felt the drama with her parents was very rushed and could have played a bigger part in the story. All the characters from the other books come together towards the end of the book, which is nice to see where everyone ended up. Great way to end the series.

Hard as Steel (Surviving Series Book 4) by Virginia Wine – Review by Krista Beck

Hard as Steel: Book four (Hard as Steel: Book four by Virginia Wine
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This series literally gets better with each book! Hard as Steel follows Steel and Nick as they navigate a case and their budding attraction for each other. Grace is a young girl that has managed to escape from horrors but has no memory of what happened to her. Running into Steel was a stroke of luck on her part as him and his partner Flynn stop at nothing to help her. This book has the drama and the action that seem to define Viriginia Wine’s books. She has quickly become a favorite author of mine.

Luke (Dark Water Security Series Book 1) by Madison Quinn – Review by Krista Beck

Luke (Dark Water Security #1)Luke by Madison Quinn

This was such a great story! Luke and Michelle meet under some very unfortunate circumstances.
They become everything to each other during the seven months they are together. When they are finally able to escape their circumstances they go their separate ways and try to get on with their lives. Ten years later their paths cross again when Emily comes to work for Luke. Working on a case together has them spending all of their time together. Reading about when they first met was heart breaking with some very sweet moments mixed in. There is a love scene during that time, which I skipped over. I just personally do not like reading scenes like that when the people involved are under the age of 18. That’s just me. Other than that it was a really great story with some great characters. I can’t wait to read Alec’s story. Hopefully his will be next!

Snatching Dianna (Feisty Lawyers Book #1) by Seelie Kay – Review by Krista Beck

Snatching Dianna (Feisty Lawyers, #1)Snatching Dianna by Seelie Kay
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the first book I have read by Seelie Kay and I was not disappointed! Snatching Dianna is the first book in the Feisty Lawyers series. Dianna is a law student who goes missing. Her roommate brings up the situation to her teacher, Janet, who is ex – covert agent, she immediately gets on the case. With the help of her husband, Cade, and others, they find themselves tracking down a human trafficking ring. This is a quick and easy read. I loved the characters in this book! I feel like there might have been a previous story with these two. I would have liked it to be just a little longer with more action. I can’t wait to read the next one!

Beneath the Surface (Gray Ghost Series #3) by Amy McKinley – Review by Krista Beck

Beneath the Surface (Gray Ghost #3)Beneath the Surface by Amy McKinley
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Beneath the Surface is the third book the Gray Ghost series. It is by far my favorite!! Hannah, a Russian sleeper agent, has ingrained herself into American intelligence. When she is activated after 9 years to help obtain a secret weapon, she finds herself with an agenda on her own. Her ex-boyfriend, Jack, who is a former Navy SEAL, is sent in with his team to find Hannah’s boss and the secret weapon. He discovers that Hannah is really not who he thought and struggles with what to do. Can he work with her and learn to trust her again? Will Hannah get her revenge and come out of this situation with a country to call home? This book had lots of action, surprises that you don’t see coming and two big “oh sh*t” moments you won’t believe!!!!!! This story was such a great one!!!!!
