Beneath the Surface (Gray Ghost Series #3) by Amy McKinley – Review by Krista Beck

Beneath the Surface (Gray Ghost #3)Beneath the Surface by Amy McKinley
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Beneath the Surface is the third book the Gray Ghost series. It is by far my favorite!! Hannah, a Russian sleeper agent, has ingrained herself into American intelligence. When she is activated after 9 years to help obtain a secret weapon, she finds herself with an agenda on her own. Her ex-boyfriend, Jack, who is a former Navy SEAL, is sent in with his team to find Hannah’s boss and the secret weapon. He discovers that Hannah is really not who he thought and struggles with what to do. Can he work with her and learn to trust her again? Will Hannah get her revenge and come out of this situation with a country to call home? This book had lots of action, surprises that you don’t see coming and two big “oh sh*t” moments you won’t believe!!!!!! This story was such a great one!!!!!

Surviving Jordan (Surviving Series Book 3) by Virginia Wine – Review by Krista Beck

Surviving Jordan (Surviving Series Book 3)Surviving Jordan by Virginia Wine
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Surviving Jordan is book 3 in the Surviving series. Ben and Jordan have had feelings for each other for years, but never acted on it. Steel is a man who can get things done, protects those he loves and does what is needed. In book 2, Steel saved Jordan from Graham. In this book, they begin spending time together even though Jordan still has feelings for Ben. When danger comes knocking on Steel’s door, he pushes Jordan away. Will Ben be ready to act on his feelings? What is the danger that is knocking at Steel’s door? This book does a good job at including the main characters from the other books. I would have liked a little less focus on Ben and Jordan and more of the story with Steel’s situation. Other wise it was a good story.

Surviving the Storm (Surviving Series Book 2) by Virginia Wine – Review by Krista Beck

Surviving the Storm (Surviving Series Book 2)Surviving the Storm by Virginia Wine
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Surviving the Storm is book 2 in the Surviving Series. This book focuses on Alex and Madison. There is so much suspense and action in this book. It is definitely the best in the series so far. Alex comes from money but he isn’t showy about it. Madison is an independent woman who is getting her clothing line up and running. We know from book 1 that Alex and Madison spent one night together and that she is already promised to marry Graham. So what happens next? You will have to read the book to find out! Theo and Eden are fairly prominent through out this book, so if you haven’t read book 1 you will want to.

Surviving Eden (Surviving Series Book 1) by Virginia Wine – Review by Krista Beck

Surviving Eden (Surviving Series Book 1)Surviving Eden by Virginia Wine
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Surviving Eden is about loss, grief and love. Theodore Grant is a psychologist helping Eden deal with her grief over losing her family. While I found the characters interesting, I would have liked more of their back stories. I felt their back story was just thrown in to the story. I like the attraction between the two, but given the possible fall out that could happen, I expected Theo to put up more of a fight. The story was well written, the story line was good and I will read the next book in the series, as I really liked Alex.

Souls Collide (Collide Series #3)Souls Collide by Kristina Beck
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Souls Collide is the final book in the Collide series. I’ve been waiting for Alexa’s story and it did not disappoint! Alexa is intelligent, funny and not afraid to put you in your place! When her and “Superman” meet I was literally laughing out loud! I think this might have been my favorite story in the series. The characters are wonderful and I love how they are all so connected. This is series that you definitely need to read!

Fatal Legislation: A Novel: Karina Cardinal Mystery Book 2Fatal Legislation: A Novel: Karina Cardinal Mystery Book 2 by Ellen Butler
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Karina Cardinal has a knack for getting herself caught up in some serious situations! The second installment of Karina Cardinal finds our heroine is now a lobbyist in Washington, trying to take things to the next level with her FBI boyfriend, and getting caught up in a hot mess! Karina is smart, funny and not afraid to get to the bottom of things. I am enjoying this series so much. If you like a good suspense and like to try and figure out who did it, then you definitely need this series. The book is well written and the characters are great! I hope there are more!

Reckless - An AnthologyReckless – An Anthology by Mika Jolie
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Four stories that are hot, steamy, action packed and hit you in the feels! An older woman with a younger rock star, ex-CIA and a lawyer, no strings on-line dating, older man and younger woman who agree to one night with no strings and no questions. What more could you ask for?!?!? The stories were all well written with great characters. Some of the authors were new to me so I will definitely be checking out more of their work!

Isabella’s Painting: A Nortourious Art Heist Mystery (Karina Cardinal Mystery #1) by Ellen Butler – Review by Krista Beck

Isabella's Painting (Karina Cardinal Mystery #1)Isabella’s Painting by Ellen Butler
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Isabella’s Painting is the first book I’ve read by Ellen Butler. This book had all the things I love: mystery, romance, the mob and a strong female. This book had me from the beginning and once I started reading, I really couldn’t stop. Karina is a lawyer/lobbyist in DC. Her boyfriend Patrick comes from a wealthy family. Spending time with his family leads Karina into something that she never saw coming! What can she do? How should she handle it? The way she handles it is brilliant! Such a great book! I cannot wait for the next Karina mystery!

Courage (The Sisterhood Series) by Chelsi Arnold – Review by Krista Beck

Courage (The Sisterhood Series #2)Courage by Chelsi Arnold
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I absolutely LOVE this series!!!! The girls are back at it after having to testify after their Damascus operation. This time the terror hits closer to home and they go on a suicide mission. Even though this book is set in 2024, it could totally be in today’s time. I love these girls strength, their bravery, their unwavering commitment. This is just such a stand out series and worth the read. As the mom of an 18 year old daughter who was recently sworn into the National Guard, I have an even more appreciation for this story. I can’t wait for the next one!!

Who: A Stalker Series Novel by Megan Mitcham – Review by Krista Beck

Who (Stalker, #1)Who by Megan Mitcham
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Who (Stalker #1) is the first book I’ve read by Megan Mitcham. I absolutely LOVED this story! It had the suspense, drama, crazy and a lot of hotness! Larkin is a self-made woman who keeps a very guarded heart. She has her girl friends, who are strong women themselves, her driver, her business and the man on the roof. She seems to have it all, but someone is out to get her. Once I started reading this I could not put it down and read it in one sitting. I cannot wait to read the next book!
