When I first started reading this book I thought it was going to be good, but this book was so much more than I expected it would be. It is a fantastic YA fantasy story that was is exciting to read from start to finish. The characters had such a strong connection and I loved how the story centred around them.
I have only recently discovered this author but this book has cemented the fact that I will be looking into more of her work. The way she writes completely draws you in and has you hooked from start to finish. I loved reading this book and could have easily read more of it. I would definitely recommend it and I am looking forward to reading more of this authors work.

This was a fascinating story. I loved the story of Marjorie and how crazy life gets for her. It’s a paranormal story with a bit of everything in it. Werewolves, twins, etc. make for some crazy action-filled drama. I was drawn in straight from the beginning and just couldn’t put it down. This is a story that grabs you because of the characters and the story. It’s well-written and holds your attention. I can’t wait for the next book to come out.

Secrets of the Moon is a Paranormal, Young Adult/New Adult romance tale.
The story is told in single POV, but I would have loved it to be multiple POV it would have added and extra depth to the characters.
Secrets of the Moon is a paranormal story with secrets and lies, action and adventure, mayhem and madness, drama and suspense, thrills and tragedy, danger and let’s not forget the romance. This story that had me captivated from the very beginning. Kristy’s writing keeps you on your toes expect the unexpected.
It is a touch dark, sexy, with a touch of fun and a delicious tale that has sexy Werewolves, Mates, Twins, family drama and things that go bump in the night.
The storyline is well thought out and cleverly woven together. The characters are well developed, complex and interesting.
Kyran is sexy, dark, brooding, and troubled and along with having a secret or two he is being torn in two. Trouble seems to follow Marjorie wherever she goes but she runs toward danger not from it. However, as secrets begin to come to light, Marjorie’s world is turned upside down once again.
It doesn’t end with a cliffy but there are a few unanswered questions, but I still really enjoyed the story. Hopefully all will be revealed in the next book.
If you love paranormal/supernatural you will not be disappointed.

Bring on more.

Demon hunter and a twist
This was a brilliant read – I totally enjoyed every moment. Rovena is a a kick-ass demon hunter and the battles (both physical and emotional) were delivered well. With mystery, suspense, witty banter and of course demon hunting there is so much to love about this book and so much more left to explore for the rest of the series. I can’t wait.

The story was exceptional and nothing like I expected! This author took me on such a wild ride, and every portion of this book was amazing. Our female main character was completely bad a**.
Demons, danger, violence, supernatural, the occult, and so much action all in one sitting. This book was one I would read more than once, and more than twice. Watching Rovena and the depth she goes to to keep this one demon corpse alive when normally her job is to make sure they stay dead was such a fun ride. Book one was amazing and book 2 cannot get here soon enough

Tale of a Body Thief (Rovena Silvex chronicles Book 1)Tale of a Body Thief by Kristy Centeno
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was a well written first book and a new author to me. The synopsis is what initially got my attention and I was intrigued enough to want to read this story. It started off with action and I wondered what kind of demon hunter I was reading about. Of course being a fan of the long running TV show Supernatrual I had a few ideas in mind about how she would vanquish these beings, but it was nothing like that. The simple yet effective method the author put forth made me do a double take, haha. Normally Rovens’s duty is to kill a demon, but when she is sent to find out why a Marked was killed and who did it she accidentally brings the body back to life with a new soul. She doesn’t know exactly how it happened as she doesn’t quite know the full extent of her powers or why they only work sometimes. Instead of hunting demons and offing them she is now tasked with keeping one alive. Will she be able to gain the trust of her sworn enemy? Or will the enemy turn out to be her downfall?

This book has an interesting premise of hunters and demons. Some hunters have special abilities and Rovena is one of those hunters. She has the ability to touch someone and see their memories. This comes in handy and is used by the members of the monastery to gain information on the death of humans or demons. Rovena is on a case to determine why an innocent human was targeted by demons. Lakyn has his own issues. He ends up on the surface in possession of the body Rovena is cased with. Here upon starts the tale Rovena and Lakyn. Enemies with no trust in each other.

~ For Demon Hunter Lovers ~

I found this to have a really similar vibe to shows like Lucifer and Warrior Nun on Netflix. There aren’t a lot of written stories to include this genre, to the level of detail that Kristy gives us, which is just #LOVE. “Tale of a Body Thief” includes demon hunters, demons (obviously), monks, nuns, a monastery, a heap of investigation intrigue, and so much more you will just have to read to find out.

Rovena is the badass, gothic demon slayer we all wish we could be. She’s already a pretty competent individual in her trade, equipped with some unique abilities to assist her mission. Not only is she capable, witty, and a total force to be reckoned with, the author brings her to life as a real down to earth person.

Along side her trying to save humanity, are her fellow hunters. But can she trust them totally? In the midst of some pretty epic (and graphic) battle scenes, Rovena is forced to use quick and critical thinking. There is so much diversity across the board for all characters. We want good vs. evil to be drawn with a clear black and white line, but that’s not how life works for us, or for Rovena.

We as the readers are guaranteed a journey with this heroine to some pretty unexpected outcomes, a lesson in self discovery, and you might just find yourself questioning your own reality. I just love that Kristy leaves room in the world development to lure you into the next book. You really have to think for yourself, and ask yourself “is anyone safe?”.
Easy to read and understand the picture that Kristy paints for the reader.

I enjoyed this paranormal story. I enjoyed how the author was able to use her writing skills to bring the story to life. The author’s attention to details made the story realistic which added to the story. This is a well written story about Rovena. She is used to hunting and killing demons but now she needs to keep one alive which totally changes the game for her. She is such a strong, supportive character that she made the story easy to read. I enjoyed how the author pulled me into the story from the beginning. This is a fast paced story that is hard to put down. An engaging story that you don’t want to miss. Rovena has the coolest job in the world! She hunts demons! She also has special abilities that some of the other Hunters don’t, which gives her an advantage. Her job gets turned upside down when she is tasked with watching over a body that was originally in the morgue. Never before has she seen such an occurrence. Turns out the body is no longer inhabited by the original soul and now houses a demon. Rovena must keep him alive until they know what is going on. More demons are coming to Earth than ever before, something isn’t right in the underworld. Can she do this job correctly or will all Hell break lose, literally?
This was such a fun read! This book kept me entertained and wanting to find out what happened next.

Tale of a Body Thief is the fantastic first instalment in the Rovena Silvex Chronicles by Kristy Centeno. I have loved everything I have read by this author, so I was definitely excited to get my hands this, her latest offering.
I had really high expectations going into this story, as her previous books have been amazing- and I couldn’t help but wonder if it was possible for her to hit another home run with this new story/series. I needn’t have worried though, and never should have doubted her- as this book is every bit as good as her previous works- if not better.
This is a wonderfully original and exciting fantasy with intriguing paranormal elements, plenty of action, danger, the occult, hunters, demons, witches, thrills, excitement, edge of your seat suspense, mystery, dramatic developments, violence, the supernatural, good vs evil, agendas, and adventure. There is so much packed in-between the covers of this book- making for such an exciting read. I was completely hooked right from the word go- and didn’t come up for air till I had read every last word.
Ms. Centeno has written such an engrossing, detailed, and wonderfully dynamic story- that I was completely caught up in all the developments. She had me avidly reading the whole way through, sometimes on the edge of my seat waiting to see how things would play out. The story is very original, imaginative, and well-woven. And was everything I could have hoped for (and more) from this talented author.
The characters were superbly crafted into fully developed individuals with their own unique personalities, quirks and flaws. They really brought the whole story to life and added so much more depth and ‘flavour’ to the whole adventure. I love Rovena- she is such a feisty, strong, kick-a( ) character. But this demon hunter also has a few surprises up her sleeve, too.
The story is set to continue in future instalments- so I can’t wait for the next book to see where we go from here!
If you love fantasy, the paranormal/supernatural, demons, witches, good vs evil, sinister agendas, intriguing characters, and spell-binding storylines- then you will definitely want to snap up a copy of this book, asap.
Happy Reading!

Thank you, Kristy Centeno!

I especially like reading books with strong female characters like Rovena. I easily got interested in Rovena and what makes her special. As I continued to read I became more and more invested in Rovena, the world she lives and works in. The author did a wonderful job with character descriptions, the world they strive to survive in, and building up the story to make the reader want to continue reading more. A Tale of a Body Thief was my first book from by Kristy Centeno and I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it! This was a great introduction to the Rovena Silvex Chronicles. The world building in this story is -phenomenal-. The characters are extremely well fleshed out. I adored the strength and perseverance of Rovena. She is no ordinary demon hunter and she is very good at what she does. For me, this book was a slow-burn, and enjoyably so. Many things are transpiring and building and it is absolutely worth the wait. This book concludes perfectly to lead into the next and I can say that I am very excited to dive in when the following book for this series comes out. I definitely recommend, even if paranormal fantasy is not your typical go-to!

Wow! Where to start, where to start. Honestly, this novel was much different than any other that I have read, and I think that that is a very good thing. Just the back and forth between Rovena and Lakyn would be entertaining enough, in my opinion, never mind the demons and responsibilities that came from Rovena’s line of work. It takes a little while to really get into it, but once connections are established, boy oh boy was it an addictive read.

There is so much tension, sexual and otherwise, fantastic character development, and world building and I felt as though it was just the right length. I love the lessons within these pages as well, such as not judging a book by it’s cover, and by following your gut instinct, and all those delicious life lessons. I very much look forward to reading more by this author, and I think you would do well to give this a read. Well done!

This book has some excellent world building that enhances the story. Although I’m not familiar with the demon hunter sub-genre within the fantasy genre, there was wonderful description to help the reader follow along. The main character, Rovena, has depth and an attitude to match that I found likeable. Once I started reading, I wanted to know more about this world of demons and hunters. The hierarchy became clearer for me and I was able to visualize what the characters looked like. I appreciate how the author took the time to paint a word picture of the story setting. This a great start to the series and a fantastic paranormal adventure. I really enjoy Rovena’s character. She is a very strong and determined lady with skills even she is not aware of. As a hunter her job is to stop the demons that are leaving the underworld before then can harm innocent people. However she senses there is something she doesn’t know about. Some secret to her past and who is really is that is kept hidden from her.

When Rovena is sent to a morgue to look at a body her job is to find out who killed the person and how. But things don’t go to plan. As she is studying the person they wake up.
Face with a dead person who doesn’t seem dead Rovena doesn’t know what to do. As time reveals that it’s not the soul of the deceased person in the body and demons trying to get at the soul that’s taken over the body Rovena has to do the unthinkable. She needs to protect a demon from harm instead of destroying it.
So we now start on a journey full of danger and surprises as Rovena learns its a lot harder to protect a demon than it is to destroy it.
I really can’t wait to read the next book in this series.

“Killing demons has always been a piece of cake. Keeping one alive however, is a whole new ballgame for her.”

When I saw this book out, I jumped to grab a copy. It is a paranormal story with non-stop action and adventure, mayhem and madness, drama and suspense, thrills with gripping danger and let’s not forget the romance.

Tale of a Body Thief (Rovena Silvex chronicles Book 1)Tale of a Body Thief by Kristy Centeno
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Rovena Silvex is a demon hunter, but she is no ordinary demon hunter, she has a special set of skills which make her one of, if not the best one, she has killed dozens of demons since she completed her training and she has it down to a fine art, however, sometimes, she is asked to perform other assignments which don’t involve hunting, but they do involve certain aspects of her skill set that are unique to her and tonight is one of those nights, tonight she has to visit the county morgue.

When she is sent to the morgue this time, it is so that she can work out how a victim died and who killed them, however, when she gets there, nothing goes to plan, she finds out the how, but not the who and when she next turns to look at the corpse, its eyes are open and it is holding onto her hand. What happens next is not something she can even process when the corpse attacks her and as she is fighting back, she hears footsteps coming down the hall and she now knows that she has to take the walking corpse with her when she leaves, but it isn’t as willing as she would hope.

With her walking corpse in tow, Rovena heads to the only place where she may get some answers, however, as she spends more time with the deceased, things stop adding up and she realises that it isn’t the victims soul in this body, it is something else entirely and that it is something she has never come across before. Now Rovena has a plan, it isn’t one that she wants to have, she has to babysit this walking corpse and keep them alive, or at least as alive as she can, but when demons come after them, she realises that keeping a demon alive is much harder than killing them! This is a fantasy adventure filled with magic, the supernatural and adventure galore, as a choice has to be made between keeping heaven and hell happy and trapping a demon in a world where they definitely don’t belong.

Such a good read! I was seriously hooked as I read this thrilling novel. It truly had everything I would have wanted as I read, it gave a lot, and certainly had its own level of epicenes. Freaking good read!

Loved the characters and the development they brought to the story. Loved Rovena especially. She had a lot of insight to the world and took her job very seriously. She was reluctant to change, I mean aren’t we all? I loved how danger seemed to follow her, and she would push through it. The author wrote a book that was perfectly done. Funny at times, deep at times, and full of action. I loved it from start to finish. I was hooked, and yes, I desperately need to read the next installment as of yesterday!

Not a book to be passed up. This book and author really bring everything to the table. And gives you sheer enjoyment. A must read for sure. Highly recommend this book and author with no doubt!
