What happens when you help your brother save a demon? You get exiled from Heaven. Hadassah is on Earth awaiting her punishment. She strikes up a friendship with Jezebel who is running from ber secrets. Unluckily for her, her past is right on her heels. This was a good book and I enjoyed the characters. I have only read one other book in this series, but I plan on going back to read the others.

A Cold Day in Hell (Life is Hell #5)A Cold Day in Hell by Naomi Valkyrie
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Hadassah is a fallen angel who’s awaiting sentencing on earth for the crime of helping her brother save a demon. The relationship between her brother’s new family and her is strained, to say the least, so Haddie tries to build some kind of kinship with Jezebel, a friend of her brother’s and someone Haddie believes will reject Haddie. This plan backfires as Haddie is drawn into finding a kidnapped Jezebel. This book is the fifth installment in a series, though each is about stories of different couples in the same universe. Full of supernatural fantasy, mystery, drama, and romance, it really does feel like this book has it all!

A Cold Day in Hell by Naomi Valkyrie is the 5th installment in the Life Is Hell series. While Malaki’s family decides to hold up in Delilah’s house to protect each other from Danger, Malaki’s angelic sister Hadassah comes to stay. Forced to live on earth stripped of her powers as punishment she makes an unlikely friend (maybe more) in Jezebel. Jezebel has a secret that she’s running from. But the past is catching up. Can Hadassah and the rest of the team save Jezebel?

Super excited for this book. Jezebel was so mysterious and I wanted to learn more about her. Seems like all the characters have a traumatic backstory. I’m so glad they are all healing, finding love and learning to trust others again. They are creating the family they didn’t have and it’s a beautiful thing. This series is full of love despite the issues that arise. This is my favorite story in the series so far. I really like Jezebel. If you liked the other parts you’ll love this one too. If you’re new to the series, start at the beginning so you understand the relationships and connections.

A Cold Day in Hell (Life is Hell #5)A Cold Day in Hell by Naomi Valkyrie
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A Cold Day in Hell is Book Five in the Life is Hell Series. It is a frenemies to lovers, FF paranormal romance with shifters, angels, pixies, mystery, danger, drama, suspense, secrets, and witty banter. This story focus on Hadassah, an angel, and Jezebel, a shifter. Hadassah is on suspended duty and has been banished to Juniper Lake for misusing her powers. Jezebel likes to keep to herself and finds solitude in the woods running free in her dog form. The two form an unlikely friendship and soon learn to confide in one another. When Jezebel’s past catches up with her Hadassah will stop at nothing to keep her safe. Jezebel’s past is truly heartbreaking, and we learn why she seems abrasive and prefers to be alone. Hadassah’s character seems spoiled and selfish at first but there is more to her than what she shows on the surface. The two learn to rely on one another and become close as they spend more time together leading to friendship and romance. Another great book in this amazing series!

I’m in shock that this was the last book to this series, what an amazing ride these books have been, and I’m sad to see it end. Hadassah get exiled to Earth while she waits for judgement and must put up with Her Brothers new family. Trying not to upset her brother. Hadassah settles on “trying” to make friends with Jezebel as she is the least annoying, she settles for her. Only she gets more than she bargained for! Now they are on the run from Jezebel’s past together. I loved this whole series. You can read this story alone, but I highly recommend you read them in order, but be prepared for an amazing ride that you won’t want to let go of.

A Cold Day in Hell (Life is Hell #5)A Cold Day in Hell by Naomi Valkyrie
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

What a conclusion to an amazingly diverse series. This is book five in the series Life is Hell by Naomi Valkyrie but from book one you already know most of the characters so seeing the growth across each of the books was such a treat. Dual perspectives of Hadassah and Jezebel. Heads up while this book as well as the others could be read as a standalone Hadassah’s start in this book is the direct consequences of her actions in book one.
Hadassah is an Angel from Heaven and after helping her fallen angel brother Malakhi save his demon girlfriend from witches, she is now on probation on earth awaiting her punishment. While she wouldn’t change her mind on helping him, she doesn’t want to “condemn” herself more by interacting with his new less than heavenly family he has made on earth. Jezebel in book one was thought to be just a dog until the climax when Mal and everyone else discovered she was a shifter. She may have been at Mal’s side for years the secret of her identity was a shock and more so that she went so long without revealing herself. Haddie wanted to “please” her brother and show she at least tried so she reaches out to Jezebel in an empty offer to hang out. Suddenly trapped with a shifter stuck to her side everywhere when a threat from Jezebel’s past comes knocking and taking, Hadassah keeps to her good ways and goes on the run with Jezebel to protect her.
What will heaven decide? Can Hadassah keep Jezebel safe? Everything and everyone in this series was constantly growing and evolving with each book and seeing where previous couples were throughout this book was a cherry on top of an amazing series. Enemies to lovers is one of my favorite tropes but add in the supernatural, celestial aspects and it’s made all the better as everyone learns that life and the world isn’t black and white. The moment you stop seeing it that way is the moment you truly begin to live a fuller life, a more rewarding life. Naomi Valkyrie is truly one of my favorite authors and I can’t wait to start another one of her books.

5 Stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

A Cold Day in Hell is Book 5 of the Life is Hell series and I continue to love this series so much. I recommend reading this series from the beginning as each book continues the characters in each story and you get more invested…I loved that Hadassah and Jezabel get their story. Angels, demons, shifters, danger, secrets….but chemistry and romance…this story gave me everything that I love….

Haddie is a fallen angel, unfortunately while using her magic when it is prohibited, she has no choice but to serve her probation on Earth. Jezebel is a shifter. and keeps more to herself and her past. You know what they say, the past sometimes can come back…and feeling no longer safe…. Haddie is for the ride with Jezebel. When it all comes down to…will Haddie be able to save Jezebel when she needs her…

Do yourself a favor and check out this series…it definitely is not to be missed!!

A Cold Day in Hell (Life is Hell #5)A Cold Day in Hell by Naomi Valkyrie
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A Cold Day in Hell is the 5th book in the Life Is Hell series. I personally can’t wait to read the rest of them!! I didn’t want to put this book down. A couple nights I had to force myself to put it down and go to sleep. I just wanted to finish it! I read this as a standalone, but because there are so many characters you meet quickly, I suggest reading them in order. I am sure there are some back stories in some of this that I might have not picked up on because I haven’t read the rest. YET! In this book you meet Hadassah who is an angle that is on probation for sharing her power with her brother (Malakhi) who’s an exile from Heaven. Her punishment is to live on Earth for whatever period of time the Heaven council sees fit. Helping her brother save a demon has turned her life upside down. Hell on Earth. While she stays with Mal and his chosen family she keeps to herself. She doesn’t want to be included. She wants to get through her sentence and be gone. As to not disappoint her brother more she makes a small attempt to hang out with Jezebel. Thinking she can get out of it easy and go back to being a shut in alone in her room backfires though. Jezebel ends up going on the run from some dangerous people and Hadassah goes with her. Stuck with a shifter who hates her and annoys the crap out of her, but hey maybe Mal will be grateful. IF they don’t kill each other! When Jezebel disappears Hadassah must make a few choices that are going to piss off a lot of people. Will she be able to give up her old life? Will she even have a life once everything settles? This book is so so good!! Slow burn for sure! Paranormal Fantasy that’s definitely a frenemies-to-lovers romance.

Another great book in the Life Is Hell Series. This is book 5 of the series, and this book follows Jezebel and Hadassah. Hadasdah is Mals’ brother and is a spoiled brat. There are a lot of ups and downs in this book with these characters, but it all comes together at the end. We see a lot of the previous characters in this book. This is an F/F book with great characters, a fast-paced and easy read.

Hadassah, a angel made a choice to help her brother save a demon but it had consequences. She was made a fallen angel and sent to earth to await her judgement. She struggles though as shes living with her brother and he lives with demons and she finds herself judging all of them as bad people before she even gets to know them and hides in her room and doesn’t interact anymore than necessary which breeds discontent by all the others at the house.
Someone however goes missing and she has a choice to make. Does she stay out of it and just await heavens decision on her behavior and angel status but disappoint her bother in the process, or does she choose to again help her brother but take the risk that she will never enter the world she loved to help her brother who’s helped her the entire time she was on earth awaiting her fate?

Ohhh nooo this is the fifth and last book of the Life is Hell Series, now i gotta find another book by her lol. It’s very bittersweet. I’ve really enjoyed reading this whole series and I’m not ready for the end, but I couldn’t wait to read Jezebel and Hadassah’s story. Love coming back to Juniper lakes and all its paranormal goodness or badness they’d say lol. This is a f/f enemies to lovers trope with fallen angels, necromancer ,demons and much more. It’s funny and action packed with a kidnapping. I think it became my favorite one. If you have read this or the other, I highly suggest you go and read the whole series. It’s that good. Thank you for another great series, Naomi Valkyrie!

I have really enjoyed this series even though they can be read as standalone its been great reading them in order. This is a supernatural read which is not my favorite but I’ve come to really enjoy this series. Its the story of Hadassah Engel who is an Angel and Malakhi’s sister and Jezebel the shifter. Hadassah is in trouble for sharing her power with her brother because he has been banished from Heaven. While waiting for her trouble to end she goes on the run with Jezebel because of Jezebel’s past. While on the run Hadassah learns more and more about Jezebel’s past and how being family means so much to her. This is such a good continuation of the past books and I love all of the characters. My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I’ve read all the books of the books to this series. They are each about a different set of characters, but the characters are each in every book. This one was about Hadassah, an angel who has lost her powers and is serving time exiled from heaven and Jezebel, who can shift into dogs.

When Hadassah is told by Mal that she needs to connect with his family while she is staying with them, she thinks Jezebel is the best person to seek out thinking she will be turned away. However, Jezebel’s past has caught up to her, and she must run.

It’s a ride and a lot of angst following Jezebel and Hadassah’s story, but it’s a good one. I recommend reading the entire series so you can get to know each of the characters.

Haddassah is an Angel probation on Earth as a punishment for helping her brother. She is living with his family and isn’t trying to be social and except them, mainly because she will be going home to Heaven and because they are demons. When Mal her brother asks her to try more Haddassah decides to try with Mal’s friend Jezebel who is living in the guest house and seems to be secluding herself as well. Haddassah shows up thinking she will be sent on her way by Jezebel and she can say she at least tried. Until later that night when Jezebel notices she has been found and needs to run again, Haddassah joins her on the journey to help. Only for Jezebel to be kidnapped by her ex-fiancé Devland a necromancer.
Great story, fast read for me but I enjoyed it all the same.
I don’t normally read books in a series that I haven’t read from book #1, a I liked this. It showed love and loyalty for family, and I am big on that! I will definitely go back and read the first 4 books soon.

Just when I thought the last book was my favorite, here comes the 5th installment blowing everything out of the water! I am constantly astonished at the author’s ability to create incredible, engaging stories time-after-time. The only remotely negative thing I could say about this book is that it’s the last one in the series, and I need more! I dived right into this book and devoured it in one day. We’re back in Juniper Lake but this time with Hadassah and Jezebel. I was immediately invested into their banter, tension, and romance as soon as the chemistry popped off the page. It was beyond refreshing to experience an enemies-to-lovers that didn’t feel downright malicious. If you haven’t read anything by this author yet, you’re doing yourself a disservice. This has been one of the top series I’ve read and while I’m sad to see it end, I know there will be more fantastic work on the way!

The time has come. The last book in the Life Is Hell series by Naomi Valkyrie. I’m going to go cry in a ball in the corner.
Okay, back. If you couldn’t tell, I absolutely love this series. The series is well written, with each book being better than the previous. I think my favorite is still the first book though. Just because you get that intro into this magical and supernatural world. The first look into the small, mysterious town of Juniper Lake. I highly suggest reading all five of the books and read them in order. They all have their own stories, but the characters and stories intertwine in the best way.
This story features Hadassah, which if I remember correctly, is our first angel. She is a little uptight around all of the other supernatural characters since she is “good” and they are well… not. She is a fallen angel though, after helping her brother save a demon. She was punished by being sent to Earth to await her fate. Now, she must try to be on her best behavior in a town full of people who aren’t afraid to bend the rules. By doing that, she makes her brother pretty upset since these people are like his family. Someone goes missing, someone who drives her crazy. Should she help get her back and risk not getting back into Heaven? Or should she forget about her to make sure she gets back to Heaven, while forever disappointing her brother? Read to find out!

Jaru used to be a contract companion up until he had a bad experience. He has since started up his own company where he hopes not ou employ other companions, but to give them a safe work environment. However, he seems to be in over his head being buried in paperwork and interviews. It has given him far less time to spend with Lark which makes them both unhappy. Now companions are starting to go missing and Jaru has been warned that his are next. Will Jaru be able to keep everyone safe? This story was fun and engaging. I will be going back to read the three books before this one to get a better understanding of the characters.

Sure As Hell (Life is Hell #4)Sure As Hell by Naomi Valkyrie
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Such sweet moments sprinkled in. This is book four in the Life is Hell series and like the others it can technically be read as a standalone but once again it picks up after the events of the previous book. Dual perspectives of Jaru and Lark.
Jaru is determined to give contract companions a safe place to work. Following the attack in the previous book, Hell in a Handbasket, Jaru starts his own agency, Devil’s Delights. Only shortly after finally starting up warnings begin to appear, notes and phone calls. Contract companions are disappearing, and his boys are next. Lark is the last of his grove and surprised to still be alive and now finding his newfound loneliness too much as his best friend is no longer around as much. Thanks to his secret portal system he is faced with an emergency that shows Jaru and Soren one of his abilities that he has kept secret. Having experienced holding hands and finally his first kiss Lark is willing to do what is needed, even helping Soren cook dinner. Lark and Jaru learn together as Soren helps. But everything is different and the chaos never waivers. One attack was stopped thanks to Soren’s guards, but the mystery remains.
Who is attacking contract companions? How long can they keep the warnings secret from Teivel? Does Jaru finally discover what love really is? This world has such a hold on me with each book. While I loved the previous books and was glad to finally get into Teivel’s head each new pair is so unknown, their history, wants, and feelings that each one pulls you in as you watch them grow with each other as the pages fly by. So many sweet moments happened in this book that just makes you say aww, and route for Lark to learn how to be a good boy and for them all to find happiness. Now book five, A Cold Day in Hell, to finally learn what happened to Hadassah and Jezebel after the chaos in book one with Delilah and Malakhi. Can’t believe it’s the end already love Juniper Lake and seeing the gang grow together. See you there.

I recommend reading the series in order to gain full experience and interaction between characters. I’m not sure how the author is able to fit such an incredible storyline with well-developed characters into a shorter book, but she has got the magic touch! The flow of the story is natural, and the chemistry jumps off the pages. We get to catch up with Jaru, Lark, and Soren who all have such a wonderful connection with each other. This is the final book in the Life is Hell series and it was exceptional! I love how Valkyrie wrapped up the story but left a little thread loose for the possibility of future tie ins (or maybe another book down the road). I really love Hadassah and Jezebel’s story and it really is an enemy-to-lovers trope but without all of the vitriol that sometimes comes with it. Aside from Mal and Delilah’s story, this is my favorite. It’s witty, funny, tense, romantic, and action-packed all in one. I literally couldn’t put this book down and read it in one (maybe two because…adulting) sittings. Definitely read this series in order so that you understand the plot line and so that you get to know the characters because one thing (of many) that Valkyrie does that I love is she keeps her characters in her series so the readers are able to see what is going on in characters’ lives from previous installments. Valkyrie has become an author that I will automatically read. This book is a paranormal, FF, enemies-to-lovers, romance. I’m sad to see it come to an end but it was a fantastic ride!

Sure As Hell (Life is Hell #4)Sure As Hell by Naomi Valkyrie

After Jaru was treated poorly in the past by previous “masters”, he decided to start his own business for companions to make sure they are kept safe. Jaru knows he has a lot to take on but with the help of Teivel and Oren, he can do anything he sets his mind to. When trouble starts appearing within the business, Jaru doesn’t want to be bailed out like always. He wants to prove to himself he can do this… alone. He hires Soren to keep an eye on the boys under his management.

Lark misses his best friend. Now that Jaru is always gone, Lark finds himself lonely and bored which is a bad combination for him. Boredom leads to mischief and mischief leads to getting in trouble with the other housemates. Lark decides to start hanging around the office with Jaru. As they get to know each other better, they start to cross over the line of staying platonic.

Jaru has very little self esteem so he is constantly questioning himself and as a result is questioning whether he is good enough for Lark. When threats towards Lark come to light, Jaru must find a way to keep Lark safe while fighting his own inner demons.

This book is book 4 of the ‘Life is Hell’ series and although it has less action than the previous books, this one was my favourite. Jaru is riddled with self doubt and anxiety making him feel unworthy which hit close to home for me. His anxiety gets so severe at times that he starts getting manic. Lark at first seems like a childish adolescent when you are introduced to him but as time goes on, he starts to mature into a caring, strong, independent and powerful being. I was happy that Jaru had a chance to find his happily ever after.

Sure As Hell is the fourth book in the Life Is Hell Series. It is a polyamorous, MM, friends to lovers, slow burn romance with drama, danger, mystery, suspense, action, magic, paranormal elements, and a touch of humor. If you have not yet read the previous books in this series, I highly recommend that you do. Not only will it give you the backstory of the characters, but the series is amazing. This story focuses on the characters of Jaru, who is an imp demon, and Larkspur, who is a pixie, that we were introduced to in previous books. Jaru is just starting to get ready to open a contract companion business. Larkspur misses his best friend and offers to help him around the office so that he can spend more time with Jaru. As the two spend more time together the attraction between them grows. Of course, they must overcome some obstacles as danger looms for the two of them. Can they overcome such seemingly insurmountable obstacles and truly be together? I absolutely adore this series and the characters I have met along the way. The storyline is interesting, unique, and original with quirky characters that I instantly adored. I highly recommend this entire series!

Sent to Earth on probation,
Pretty sure there couldn’t be a worse punishment.
All I want is to go home…
I’m Hadassah Engel, angel, in trouble for sharing my power with my brother, Malakhi – an exile from Heaven. I took a risk helping my brother save a demon and my punishment is hell on Earth. Counting down the days until I can go back to paradise, I do my best not to get involved in my brother’s family affairs.
Still, knowing how important Mal’s family is to him, when Jezebel’s past comes calling, I go on the run with her to keep her safe. Trust me, it’s got to be better than dealing with Mal’s reaction if I let her go alone.
Pushed together by dangerous circumstances, my heart can’t help but get involved. Am I willing to sacrifice my life in paradise for the reclusive dog shifter who has taught me how to love?
This book is best enjoyed after reading the previous books in the Life is Hell series.

Sure as Hell (Life is Hell Series Book 4) by Naomi Valkyrie – Review by Crystal Brehant

Sure As Hell (Life is Hell #4)Sure As Hell by Naomi Valkyrie
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Book four in the Life Is Hell series. I am very disappointed… that this series is almost over! I love this series so much. What’s not to love? Magic, Supernatural beings, danger, love and it all takes place in an unassuming small town.
I recommend reading in order as the characters and stories intertwine with each other in the small town of Juniper Lake. Each story is unique though and you definitely won’t get bored!
Sure as Hell is the story of Jaru and Lark. Jaru is an imp demon and Lark is Jaru’s best friend. Trouble comes about, and puts Lark in danger. Jaru wants to push Lark away, to keep him safe. Lark has other plans and tells Jaru his feelings for him. Can Jaru accept Lark’s love and keep him safe? You must read to find out!

Sure As Hell (Life Is Hell Book 4) by Naomi Valkyrie. I love this series and I think each book gets better. I would recommend reading these in order so you get all the great details. Its the story of Juniper Lake a not so normal destination, it just happens to be a hot spot for demons. We meet Jaru who is an imp and a former contact companion who feels like he not doing his job up to par. Jaru decides to open a new business, much to his best friend Lark’s dismay. Lark is actually jealous of all the time Jaru spends on this new business since they are a new couple. Lark decides to mess up the business on purpose so that he can have all of Jaru’s attention. Will Jaru’s business make it and will Lark get all of Jaru’s attention or will Lark’s interference cause them to split permanently. Read Sure as Hell to find out all this and more!
