This is the first book in the Bold Journeys series, I would recommend reading the books in order as they follow the same characters. The focus of this book is Rebecca. I did really appreciate the message this book was trying to get the reader to think about but there were a few things that I really struggled with as a reader. I would recommend reading this book

This book was interesting and inspiring. A very relatable read and a nice change of pace for me. I really enjoyed this more than I thought I would. I haven’t read this author before, but this was excellent, and I can’t wait to see what else this author has for us. This is well written, and I think everyone would enjoy reading about Rebecca’s journey.

I didn’t love or hate this book. I thought it was an interesting take a common thing that women go through. It was hard for me to take Rebecca seriously in the beginning but I pushed through and she was okay at the end.

This was my first time reading this authors work. Such an interesting story with topics that are not usually talked about enough. The main character is relatable and likeable. I definitely didn’t wanted to put it down once I started reading it. A pretty good book overall.

I’m just loving the cover !!!! ❣️📚

Pardon the pun and apologies if I offend anyone but Stout “ boldly went where no woman has gone before “ for that I lift my hat off to you madam you were not scared to go where some wouldn’t as it may be seen as taboo 😉

Rebecca has a bedroom problem and while she’s down it feel like the universe is conspiring against her because everything seems to be going wrong her boss doesn’t seem to be happy with her work or attitude , her roommate moves out to live her life I would just lie in a heap and feel sorry for myself but not Rebecca she’s ready to take on the challenges head on and hello who’s the yummy speciMAN that’s just moved in , her inspiration I hope 🔥😉

Rebecca made it feel like I was hanging with a girlfriend because I went through all the motions , I felt sorry for her , I got annoyed with her , I got irritated with her and at times I just wanted to climb in the book and come to her defence ! Thank you for the trip to New York 😉

The author has written a book about something a lot of women have a problem with and think it is taboo to speak of. She does a good job with showing how Rebecca learns the truth about intimacy. After being put down for so long and being called an ice queen, she finally meets the right guy who will help her learn and feel comfortable about it. I couldn’t put the book down.

Love, Only Better (Bold Journeys Book 1) by Paulette Stout

Love , Only Better is the first book in the Bold Journeys Series and is a wonderfully Women’s Fiction that I absolutely loved reading. This is a book every woman should read even if they haven’t experienced what our main character has. It’s a story about discovery yourself and your sexuality, your wants, your needs . Rebecca has been through it all she’s lost another boyfriend and she doesn’t like sex. She decides to go after what she wants and seeks out a Dr who tells her she’s fine. Not happy with that she sets out to get the one thing she is lacking and that’s intimacy and reaching the big “O” . This is a fast paced story that had me turning the pages. This may be one of those subjects no one likes to talk about but this author did an amazing job. This is my first book by her but definitely not my last. I highly recommend reading this book and I look forward to reading more from this Author.

Rebecca is on a mission to find her orgasm. This book does a great job at focusing on the how, when and why she does the things she does to discover if she is able to reach the pinnacle of climax. Finding a hot neighbor in the process is just adding another layer to it. This book was not only entertaining it was also educational. Well written and enjoyable.

I have never read a book like this! I’ve never encountered a FMC like this! As someone who has had a similar struggle, although for a different reason than Rebecca, this is a whole different kind of representation I never expected or knew I needed. Reading Love, Only Better, was validating in the most surprising way! I felt like Rebecca & Kyle were a bit immature, but that isn’t a bad thing in itself & lays great foundation for character development in the next book. I do truly hope they end up happy together! An awakening story by a trailblazing author!

Love, only better was a good romance book to read. This was my first book by the author and she didn’t disappoint. It took a few chapters for me to get really into it. Once I got into the story, I couldn’t put it down. The detailing in the book was great. The characters and plot was well thought of.

This book covers such a vital issue that many women face today and I’m so glad it has been constructed into a fictional form so many women out there can relate. The “Ice Queen” Rebecca is not able to achieve full pleasure when it comes to being with her partners. This deeply affects her confidence as another boyfriend storms out of the bedroom. This woman shows such vulnerable and delicate aspects of herself, which many women sadly endure in their own mental capacity. On top of her failed relationships, now other aspects in her life feel also like total failures until one day, a new neighbor changes all her perspectives and more. Sometimes when we are not looking is when our answers find us! Great read for all types of women whether you struggle with the same issues or know others struggling as well.

This is the first book in the Bold Journeys series and wow. The description of this book caught my attention, it is something that is made to feel so shameful but really shouldn’t and I loved that this book shed light on the topic.

It was covered well, sensitively and realistically. I’m sure most women have worried about being the only one experiencing an issue that’s rarely talked about, whether sexual or otherwise, and this made the character Rebecca more relatable.

I loved the character of Rebecca (and not just because we share a name). She was written to be likeable and is certainly relatable with her insecurities, but it’s her determination and strength than I find admirable.
I also loved Kyle. He’s amusing and charming so what’s not to love?! I look forward to getting more background on Kyle in the next book.
I enjoy this pair together and I’m happy that there’s another book to keep me going!

Love, Only Better by Paulette Stout is available now in eBook and Physical Book
⭐️⭐️⭐⭐ Book Review

Love, Only Better is the first installment of the Bold Journey’s series. In this novel we meet Rebecca and Kyle. Rebecca doesn’t know how to succeed in the bedroom. Everything is all wrong until she meets Kyle. With the help of a doctor and a trial she is skeptical but willing to try anything to get this right. This was my first time reading a book so highly focused on a female’s concern of lacking in the bedroom. At times I found it very interesting, I may have even learned a thing or two. But at times it was a bit much for me. I love the chemistry between Kyle and Rebecca. I think Kyle won book boyfriend of the year in my eyes. I would love to have read more about Kyle and Rebecca’s relationship and less about the female issues. Despite this, I would not hesitate to recommend this book to a friend. I look forward to reading more written by this author in the future.

I found this read enjoyable and I liked the message the book was giving about women as sexual beings. Women exploring their bodies and finding out what they enjoy is to this day still a bit of a taboo subject so I really like the fact that the author has highlighted this, hopefully this will lead to conversations starting and stop other young woman going through life feeling the same as Rebecca like they are damaged and not normal.
Rebecca has gone through life feeling like she isn’t normal. She doesn’t have the same experience as “normal” people do when they are intimate with their partners and this issue weighs heavy on her mind. Especially since this was the reason her last relationship failed.
Now she is on a mission to to find out what is wrong with her and she is determined to solve this issues. Is she broken as she fears or is it something else?
This story is a journey of self discovery as Rebecca learns things about herself she didn’t realise and also learned how things that happened in her past still effect her today.
There are tears, heartbreak but also a spark of hope in the new love interest Kyle.
This book to me felt personal as there were parts that I could personally relate to and I understood the emotions that Rebecca went through.
The author for me took a very sensitive and not talked about subject and brought it out into the light in a way that women reading it will no longer feel alone or abnormal about their bodies and their feelings. For me it was a very moving and empowering read.

Sometimes it really takes someone to hit rock bottom to see things in a different perspective. I think this book gives a real raw look at one of the biggest issues most women have, self confidence in and out of the bedroom. This is a great read, and for sure will resonate with a lot of people.

Love, Only BetterLove, Only Better by Paulette Stout
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

In “Love, Only Better,” Paulette Stout fearlessly addresses the lack of orgasmic fulfillment, a topic often left unspoken. Through Rebecca’s narrative, the book offers a relatable perspective for women who carry the weight of shame due to not conforming to societal norms of responsiveness. Rebecca’s journey takes a personal turn as her recent breakup with Ethan, who cruelly labeled her as frigid before leaving, intensifies her self-doubt. She has the feeling of inadequacy seeps into various aspects of her life, including her professional endeavors and interactions with her mother.
Determined to reclaim her confidence and attain sexual satisfaction, Rebecca embarks on a mission to experience the elusive Big O. In a serendipitous twist, an appealing new neighbor enters her life when she’s at her lowest. The mutual attraction between them sizzles, creating a delightful yet perplexing predicament. Past experiences loom large in her mind, igniting the fear of history repeating itself.
Approaching this book, I avoided reading the description or existing reviews, preferring to dive in mindlessly. To my delight, the book’s central theme unfolded before me unexpectedly. Beyond the surprise factor, what truly stood out was the refreshing portrayal of imperfections and the ease with which women can embrace their pleasure. In contrast to the typical romance novels, this book felt like a much more authentic representation of reality.
The protagonist was so relatable that forming a connection with her was effortless, and she became someone I genuinely rooted for. This book is an absolute must-read for women, and I found immense enjoyment in its pages.

Love, Only BetterLove, Only Better by Paulette Stout
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This wonderfully written and honest novel really does explore “a topic too long kept in the shadows: women’s pleasure”, and it does so with vulnerability and sensitivity. Obviously the storyline does contain some intimate scenes! Rebecca’s relationships do not last long and her intimate love life is definitely not satisfying, apart from the chocolate she eats afterwards. After yet another boyfriend storms out of the bedroom, and believing she’s the only women in Manhattan who ‘can’t finish in the bedroom’, she realises she needs to do something about it. Having seen multiple doctors and undergone embarrassing examinations, doctors either say she is fine or are a bit unorthodox, and she’s still not getting any satisfaction.
Then Kyle moves in across the hall from her, and the confident, gorgeous, charming, motorcycle riding photographer takes her breath away. They have instant chemistry and when they are together all Rebecca’s troubles seem to melt away. However, sadly not her main one, and as their relationship develops and their connection grows stronger she is unable to keep her secret hidden. Rebecca knows she needs to fight for the life she wants, with Kyle, knowing that otherwise she may not get a second chance at love. I love Rebecca and think she’s so likeable and relatable, and the chemistry between her and Kyle really sizzles off the page. This definitely has an original and intriguing storyline, but I like how the author has incorporated a ‘taboo’ subject into a heartwarming and inspiring romance. An enjoyable and engaging read.

When I picked up this book I went into it fully blind, without reading the description or any of the existing reviews. So I was completely taken by surprised to discover the main ‘topic’ of the book. Surprise aside, it was refreshing to read a book where everything isn’t perfect and women can attain their pleasure with ease. This book felt much more representative than any of the usual romance books that you read.
That being said, it was also a fun and enjoyable story that pulls you, the reader in, right from the start. It was easy to connect with the character and she is definitely one that you root for. This book is a must read for women and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Wow, this book is very surprising and needed in so many ways. Rebecca the main character has an issue, she can’t seem to have satisfaction when being intimate. To the point one of her boyfriends calls her the ice queen. Rebecca feels like she’s broken. The story takes Rebecca on a direction she didn’t expect, a group of doctors trying to help women to realize their full capacity in the bedroom.
I cheered for Rebecca when she stood up to those doctors and walked out of the room. Her quest to find satisfaction actually brings her to find her inner strength she’s been hiding!

Rebecca has everything she needs, except confidence. She has let others dictate what she needs to do and who she should be for so long that she doesn’t even realize she has lost control of herself. On a quest to feel like a woman, Rebecca gets much more than she bargained for, if only she can convince herself that she deserves everything good coming her way before it all falls apart.
Love, Only Better is a story of empowerment and taking your life back. With a strong female lead character who discovers that she is worth more and deserves better, she is unstoppable! Paulette Stout nailed the insecurities that draw a person down and challenged them head on in this book, well done!

Love, Only BetterLove, Only Better by Paulette Stout
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Love, Only Better is the first book in the Bold Journeys Series. It is a beautifully written story of one woman’s journey to self-discovery and sexual empowerment. The story centers around the character of Rebecca who has just been dumped by her boyfriend. He refers to her as an “ice queen” and this is his reason for breaking up with her. Rebecca is devastated but saw the breakup coming. Her roommate is less than helpful and tells her it is for the best because she never liked him anyways. Rebecca has nobody to talk to about her “sexual problem” because the subject is taboo. Rebecca feels as though she cannot do anything right and as though her world is falling apart around her, so she decides to go on a journey to become a better person. This journey is a bit different than the typical eating healthier, going to the gym, working out, becoming a better person journey that most women would go through after a bad breakup. Rebecca decides to try to discuss the matter with her doctor and ultimately ends up becoming part of a research study. Through the study she learns a lot about herself, her sexuality, and gains self-confidence. Enough confidence that she decides to go after what she wants, one of which is the yummy relative of one of her neighbors. Through Rebecca’s journey she runs into some snags, hits some bumps in the road, but overall learns to be confident, strong, brave, and empowered. As her confidence and sexual empowerment improve Rebecca learns how sex and love combine to have a healthy, happy, vibrant relationship. Huge kudos to the author for her bravery in discussing the taboo subject of women’s sexuality. Looking forward to reading the next book in this series!

Love, Only Better (Bold Journeys Book 1) by Paulette Stout – Review by Paloma Fierro 02/08/2023

Meet Rebeca, a Jewishlatin woman full of intelligence and dreams. Oh but her only but great defect is to not have confidence in herself. Not at work and less with her partners. Her romantic affairs had had a negative in her steem and looking back at each experience makes  her realize that  maybe she needs help getting her head in place.

Just when she begins her journey to self discovery a cute and easy going guy gets in the picture. Kyle moved across the hall in order to be with his aunt, she is older and the company helps her. Both try to understand each other and the needs that come from the development of a relationship, oh but sometimes trouble will make this harder.

This story is full of self awareness and is a way to understand the place most of us live a daily battle, our heads, what they may need and how to address their issues.

The struggles Rebecca encounters while seeking orgasmic fulfillment makes this book very relatable to a large group of women. I love how this author brakes down Rebecca’s character exposing her most vulnerable aspects to the readers. The story follows a young woman who is on a mission to achieve the Big O but she has to learn how it all works first. Rebecca deals with her struggles, on top of all the chaos going on around her, with such determination. I love it!!! Absolutely a must read!

I knew this was going to be a good one as soon as I read the author’s note. It was incredible! I’ve been a woman too emotionally entangled in my own thoughts to focus solely on taking care of business and while I didn’t go through the extremes that Rebecca did, I still find it deeply connecting. As a woman with high anxiety and past anorexia history, I can relate to our heroine in this story. The way that she spends so much time worrying about what everyone else thinks and feels smaller than the people surrounding her is such an incredible transformation to the rising phoenix that she turns into. Able to hold her head up high with confidence, she fights to the end and grits her teeth to become empowered as strong and ever-fierce as any woman could ever hope to be. This is written so passionately and so personally. We need more of this kind of women empowerment in the world!

The book was a little slow in the beginning. But we follow along with Rebecca discovering her sexual needs. She feels like she is broken due to her past ex’s. They would say some very rude things, and didn’t know it started affecting her until after she split from Ethan. Her neighbor Bessie has her nephew Kyle move in to help her. Rebecca goes through different therapies to help. Rebecca and Kyle have lots of ups and downs. I truely was not expecting this to turn into a cute romance but I was so suprised! It’s such an amazing read I can’t wait for book 2!! This book was so fantastic, please go read this!!

Love, Only Better is the first book in the Bold Journeys series by Paulette Stout. This is the first book that I have read by this author, so I really didn’t know what to expect from one of her stories. But the cover drew my attention and the blurb sounded interesting- so I took a chance and set off to explore the book.
It is a women’s fiction story- but focuses on a subject matter that is only too real. The story hopes to highlight this ‘secret’ issue in the hopes of helping other women who have the same struggles. The subject of intimacy, sexuality, gratification, and pleasure aren’t always easy topics of conversation- especially if you struggle to reach fulfilment. This can lead to secrets, angst, anxiety, feeling ‘defective’, confidence issues, and self-worth issues that puts even more pressure on the woman, and their (intimate) relationship/s. The story takes us on Rebecca’s journey as she grapples with these issues. This is an honest and insightful account of Rebecca’s experiences and her quest to find a ‘solution’ to her problem- and is a bit of a journey of self-discovery.
I found the story interesting, and I really felt for Rebecca and what she was going through. I really tried to connect with her and become invested in her story, but never quite got there.
I felt that the story got too ‘bogged down’ and a bit lost in all the details and descriptions- some areas are way too detailed and very ‘blow-by-blow’ – while other areas lack the detail I would have liked to see. This is also a ‘romance’ story- but I felt their ‘connection’ was kind of washed over a bit. But, maybe we will get ‘more’ of that in the second book- ‘What We Never Say’, so I will have to wait and see what happens there- so stay tuned.
Happy Reading…

Thank you, Paulette Stout!

Raw, truthful journey
Love, Only Better is an honest, confronting story that faces issues head on. This is my first book by this author and I loved her refreshing approach and writing style. The characters are easy to relate to and the sensitive subject matter is interwoven throughout the story in a tasteful way. The romance was there, but not the shining star of the book. This was my first book from this author, but I’m looking forward to more from her. While it can feel a little slow in the beginning, you’ll be smart to keep going as it tells such a beautifully relatable story for women everywhere. Rebecca has been made to feel that she’s unworthy or even worse, that she’s somehow a failure as a woman. As you can imagine, that takes such an unbelievable toll on your psyche. She somehow keeps some sort of motivation which rewards her with a drool-worthy neighbor, and this is where I started to swoon as it turned into a nice romance. This book takes you on a rollercoaster of emotions and is well worth the read. I can’t wait to see what comes next in this series!
