Murder the Tey Way is the second book in the Golden Age of Mystery Bookclub, featuring Professor Lexie Driscoll and the members of the book club that she curates.
Things start off with a bang when Lexie’s sister Gayle arrives unexpectedly and scared for her life in the middle of a book club meeting. A dead body in Lexie’s backyard the next morning puts Gayle as prime suspect, whilst other deaths and robberies occur nearby. Is it all related, and if so, how? It is an intriguing mystery with a diverse cast of characters with several having motives to kill.
Of course, it wouldn’t be a cozy mystery without some red herrings and a dash of romance, to keep things interesting.

Josie Gardiner’s life revolves around her 2 children and the business that she built from the ground up. On one of the worst days of her life, her ex-husband wants to take her children away and her business is on the verge of failing, she collapses and wakes to find herself in her teenage bedroom, 30 years in the past.
Josie realises that she has a chance to have a do-over and maybe fix some of the mistakes she made in the past, including telling the boy she always believed was the love of her life that she loves him. But all decisions have consequences and whilst she might end up with the love of her life, she could lose the children she already has. Is it worth it?
I loved this book. The characters were so well-written and full of heart. you could really empathise with Josie and the choices she had to make to try to get back to her future. It was thought provoking and I thought the ending was perfect.

An engaging modern take on the ‘Little Red Riding Hood’ story.
Lily is happy to head off to college, leaving the confines of her over-protective mum’s house. George is a handsome college student, nursing a broken heart and unable to move on from Laura. Sparks fly when these two meet, but will George ever be able to stop pining for his lost love in time to see Lily as his soulmate?
Add in a couple of fairy godmothers-in-training and an arrogant, annoying Guardian angel, trying to fix the mess that they made in the first book, whilst keeping everyone safe from a vengeful person from George’s past.
This book continues straight on from the first book in the series, Ashes, and whilst it is a stand-alone book, the background of the characters’ situations from Ashes would help to understand where they are today.
