This book has it all. It has comedic banter, romance, spice, a big sexy strong male character with a heart of gold, and a witty independent fun female character that you wish was your BFF. I can’t think of anything critical to even say about this book. I’ve always enjoyed this authors writing and I’m sitting on the edge of my seat waiting to dive into the sequel to revisit some of the characters touched upon in this book. I can’t wait.

Ok so I thought that the first book in this series was great, but the 2nd book is amazing. Brandon and Callie’s story was so wonderful. This is the best kind of friends to lovers/2nd chance type romance. The twists and turns of the story kept the pages turning and the characters kept me completely engrossed in this story. I am definitely a fan at this point. I cannot wait for the next installment of this series!

This book had every bit the sweet Romantic hometown/ best friends to lovers feel. I loved it all from start to finish and my heart had many swoon worthy moments.
Abby was sweet and relatable. You wanted her happy ending. Nate brought the steam and touch of jealousy all the while being handsome and sweet. When he offers to help with her baby dreams they find that once was not enough and maybe there could be more. Question is will they find their way before it’s too late!

The Silent Road is about a guy named Dan who is working through a divorce, trying to manage his daughter, his job, and everything seems to be piling onto him all at once, especially when he is pulled over and for the first time is unable to talk his way out of a ticket, having his truck impounded, and being escorted back to his home base by a police officer. Dan hasn’t gotten a license or his CDL’s due to being dyslexic but nobody has paid enough attention, until now, to him to notice. I originally picked this book up for that reason, I come from a family of truckers, and they meet a big part of our nations needs. If I had carefully read the book blurb and realized that this involved a male to male relationship I probably wouldn’t have picked it up just because that’s usually not my scene but if I hadn’t I would have missed out on a good book. I definitely enjoyed reading about Dans transformation, from an openly aggressive homophobe, to an openly gay man, after some of the things he witnesses Jake go through on the road and how much he had changed toward the end of the book and was willing to admit his faults and do better if Jake would just give him a chance. This was a book that covered some tough subjects from an original, well written point of view.

Just One Time by Samantha Baca was pretty much everything that you would want in a best friend romance story. Nate and Abby have been friends forever. They never really gave it a thought when it came to coupling up. But when Abby decided she wanted nothing more than to be a mom, Nate stepped up without so much as blinking. Will the pair be able to do this or will things get messy? The chemistry between nate and Abby was so strong you could feel it. They were hilarious together and I found myself laughing out loud. I really enjoyed this book and I’m looking forward to the rest of the series.
Destiny of Light by Catherine Greenall

This was a great series! I really enjoyed the science behind the story and was not expecting the plot twist this third book took. You definitely need to read the first books in the series to follow the story and get the full picture. You get to learn the full story behind the Genies and the Elite in the book and it will really make you think. I love that the story actually ended and does not leave you hanging like some stories do. And as always the science that is included by the author really does make you wonder. I really enjoyed reading from Calum’s point of view. He’s a character I really like and could get behind. I definitely recommend this series if you are in the mood for an apocalyptic science type read!
Destiny of Light: Final Book in Quirk of Destiny Trilogy by Catherine Greenall

What a brilliant end to a magnificent trilogy! I enjoyed each book, but this finale was absolutely wonderful. Catherine Greenall continues to build this apocalyptic world with paranormal and sci-fi themes throughout the series. Calum is trying his hardest to keep his friends alive while fighting their enemies, but does he have what it takes? Everything took a turn for the worse when genetically modified foods were introduced to the general population, creating the paranormal Genies. Everyone now believes Calum, but unfortunately there may be too much destruction to make a difference. Will Calum and his group be able to survive or this truly the end of the world? I highly recommend this series if you enjoy dystopian sci-fi! I enjoyed all of the political elements in it as well. The author did a remarkable job with this entire trilogy!

The author didn’t disappoint. I don’t know how it’s possible but each book is better. I love how we get a different POV with Lane but it still has all the characters we have grown to love. This book draws you in from the beginning and continues to surprise and amaze you.

While on the run, she is captured and brought to Edinburgh and is locked within a narrow alleyway. This is only the beginning of her struggles. She is then accused of leaving a plague-filled house and is forced to stay within the gate. Will she be able to survive? Will she find the justice her sister deserves? Find out in Streets of Shadow.
The characters are relatable as is their feelings. The tale is intricately woven and is full of twists and turns. It is a historical fiction with realistic events. This book had me hooked from the first page and held my interest all the way until the end. It kept me guessing and surprised me with every turn. Rebecca Bischoff has a way with words that makes her readers feel as though they are in the story themselves.
I highly suggest picking up a copy of Streets of Shadow. There are so many twists and turns that make this book hard to put down. If you are looking for a historical fiction read with some mystery intertwined, look no further!

Destiny of light had an amazing world building. I felt the book was slow and it was hard for me to get into it. After half way in the book, I was able to get into the book and it was a page turner for me. I would say it’s slow at first but it does pick up after several chapters. It was a great read otherwise.

It has everything you could want out of a romance book and more. You should check this out soon, especially if you’re a romance lover. I can’t wait to see what else this author has for us.

One of my favorite genres to read, and this one didn’t disappoint. I’ve not read this author before but based off this book I can’t see what else she has! This was a very interesting plot line that kept me hooked the entire time. This pulled on every emotion you can think of. It was great! You should read this today!

This is the second book in The Echo Series, and like the first it captivated me right away. It’s a treat to your senses with the descriptions of the locations that Brandon travelled to and his reconnecting with Callie, one of his childhood friends. It’s great to see their connection growing as they reacquaint themselves. Callie is a very strong character who has been dealt a blow several years prior. She just seems like a friend I’d love to have on my side.
The author does a marvelous job of world building and character building. The antagonist in this story is really not likable but he has a part in Callie’s experience.
I would definitely recommend reading the first book in the series. It isn’t crucial but will help connect some of the characters in the second book.

Wow! The author does not disappoint as she wraps up this series! Sci-fi meets religion. The characters are engaging, and the storyline moves at a believable pace. Who knows? Perhaps these events could really happen, and maybe they have already begun. I am sad to leave behind these characters- some of whom I had started to think of as my friends.

Destiny of Light is the last installment in the Quirk of Destiny Trilogy! This is one of those series that needs to be read in order to know the who’s and what’s of the series. This was a sci-fi story that was fast paced and full of twists and turns. I enjoyed the characters as the story unfolded and didn’t want their story to end. I am looking forward to more by this author in the future!

I loved this book so much! It was a wonderful historical fiction that takes place in 1665. I also really enjoyed how clean the story was. Kenna Somerled is the granddaughter of an Earl. She is devastated when her sister dies. She is certain that her brother in law, Oliver, killed her sister. She tells her grandfather then finds herself whisked away and left in a slum area. The area gets locked down for having the plague, and she finds herself stuck there. While on the streets, she finds a little girl. While Kenna saved the little girl, the little girl also saved Kenna. There were a couple of twists that were well foreshadowed, and I was able to figure them out. But the big twist completely threw me for a loop! This is well worth your time to read!

This is my kind of fairy tale. The main character, the princess, is not immediately likable, which is a surprisingly welcomed change from my usual reads. Princess Zanira is, in a word, spoiled, but she doesn’t remain as such as the story progresses and it’s clear that she’s more than the face she shows the world. From the beginning, fantastical elements are woven in such a way that it’s sure to captivate the readers. I could easily imagine the story as I read it and, though I’m not in the age range of the usual audience, it was still a great book!

I strongly suggest you check out this author and book if you are at all interested in MM romance that isn’t just erotica. Some reviewers mention wishing that this book was from multiple perspectives, but the first person perspective is one of the things I love about this story. There are so many things to love though. The characters are believable, the the family dynamics are emotional, the storyline is unique, and the romance gets hot! Check this book out and you won’t be sorry.
Savage Lies: A High School Bully Romance by Isla Vaughn

Though I’m not always one for a darker romance, I was immediately intrigued by the story. There’s a deeper air of intrigue to the way the author has told this story that goes deeper than your typical bully romance. While all the usual elements of a dark romance, this story isn’t lacking in spice and heat from the actual story itself. The chapters are told in alternating perspectives of our main characters and we get a look into their sides of things. Definitely one of the best books I’ve read this year, I’m going to be on the lookout for the sequel!

This is a new author to me….reading the snyposis and seeing the intriguing cover I decided to dive right in. This audiobook was fantastic and fun to listen to…full of magic, witches, crime, demons and a some romance.
Gwen heads back to her hometown of Hoodoo, Texas and upon her return…mysterious murders come with. With all fingers point to Gwen, will she be able to prove her innocence?
I love Gwen’s character of being strong, independent and love her being middle aged with all the parts that go with it ♥️. I did not realize there is a prequel so I will be definitely circling back to listen to the prequel as well and I am already looking forward to book 2. The narrator was absolutely perfect for this story as well.

This book was absolutely phenomenal. Learning Russian history, especially the tragic story of the Romanov family has always gotten my interest. Reading from a different perspective of the family was eye-opening. Following the story of Olga and her sisters was absolutely heartbreaking. Doing everything she can to keep them safe while trying to clear her mother’s name she meets a young lord that she is employed to as Olivia. The feelings are there but things become very complicated. The story makes you feel all of the feels and all of the heartbreak. I loved reading this book and will add it to my ever growing library!

Calum O’Connell is back again, they are getting back to something like normal in Gallanvaig, they are back to their sustainable and simple way of life and thankful that they are still all together after having just overcome the last lot of hurdles which changed life as they knew it all over again, when the “Genies” came and caused havoc for their friends and families. This was as well as trying to keep out of harms way thanks to a dissonance in their lifestyles and those of others living in this apocalyptic world, where barriers were erected and had to be overcome by the small group.
While they were fighting for their lives, the “Genies” were growing in both strength and numbers, their powers increasing and becoming more and more deadly with each passing day as they continue to eat the genetically modified foods and recruit others to do the same and join their evil ranks. Another group were also fighting against them from the shadows, wanting to eliminate anyone standing in the way of their new world order, be they survivors or “Genies” and causing a restrictive way of life to be adopted by forcing everyone to obey.
Between the “Genies” and the shadowy Elite, Calum and his group are struggling to survive and avoid the pitfalls and hurdles placed into their path by those around them, but they still have hope that they can prevail with the help of others around the world, but with death and destruction all around them, can they really stop the forces of evil and convince everyone else to re-adopt their way of life, or will evil triumph after all and create a new world order thriving on violence and mistreatment? This is another informative and well researched glimpse into a possible future with apocalyptic consequences to current issues, written in a way which provokes conversations and debates while coupling it with a dystopian race against time, which is fraught with danger from everywhere all at once which you will not want to miss out on.

Calum O’Connell returns in this dystopian tale of how genetically modified (GM) food has caused an apocalyptic level event, which has wiped out most of the humans living on the planet, but not just that, some of the survivors have become altered at a genetic level. The not so affectionately named “Genies” have become something superhuman and have shown abilities beyond human, this is as well as becoming emotionally and physically unstable, they have been attacking, enslaving, or even killing people in their madness.
Since we last saw Calum, two years have passed since the first wave of this apocalypse occurred and life has somewhat settled down in the small coastal town of Gallanvaig, the group have been helping the world recover and creating guidelines to live by which are both sustainable and more natural, but nothing good can last and things are about to take a turn for the worse again and danger will come for this small community.
Meanwhile, the evil “Genie” leader, Balthazar has been growing in strength and developing his paranormal powers while planning his next wave of attacks against the GM free survivors who foiled his last one, but even though it is personal, there is a crucial element of survival which the “Genies” cannot seem to succeed at and this is his main goal, to find a way around it. There is also a shadow group who have been sowing the seeds of their own plans throughout the surviving colonies around the world, but they are more politically motivated, however, just as ruthless as Balthazar in their methods.
Will Calum and his band of survivors be able to stop Balthazar in his tracks again, while also entering a political battle on their other front? Will this battle between good and evil ever stop and a new normal created, or will the world return to how it was before the GM tragedy occurred? This is a dystopian sci-fi adventure which hits close to home, while also teaching lessons in an informative and creative way with plenty of twists, turns and action throughout to keep you hooked and wanting to know what happens in the end.

In the third and final installment of the Quirk of Destiny Trilogy the reader is immediately clued in on the protagonist, Calum, potentially loosing someone he loves dearly. Not just Calum, but the rest of the world loosing someone they love due to these environmental anomalies. This is a multiple point-of-view read as well, which did busy up the read a bit for me. Overall I enjoyed the concepts and themes that the author incorporated; the elite with their power, genetically modified foods to control the population, and what happens to humans when the world is ending.

Savage Lies by Isla Vaughn is the first book in the Hidden Valley Elite series, following the prequel Savage Start. In this story, it picks up where some time has passed since Cole and Damon lost their mother. They blame their father and his inability to be faithful to their mother for her taking her life. But when Cole finds out who his father is seeing and connects the dots to Riley’s mother, he decides to make it his mission to run Riley and her mother off. The tension between Cole and Riley is fierce as they toy with each other and it is so gripping, it was hard to put this book down. I am anticipating diving right into the second book next to see where it goes next.

This book has so much more going on than I expected and I really enjoyed it. This book is even better than the first one and I was drawn in to the story right from the start. Callie and her past definitely intrigued me and I thought the fit of her and Brandon was done really well. I wanted to know more about both of them and enjoyed the discovery as the book developed.
I think the author has created a strong series and I am looking forward to the next book. I want to see what else is to come and will be reading more of her work in the future.
Braving Lily by Morgana Bevan

This book is the latest in the series and is a great addition. I loved the two main characters and the chemistry between them. On paper, they really shouldn’t have worked so well and yet you could not deny the pull between them. I thought the story suited them perfectly and I wanted to see how things would turn out.
This is still a relatively new author to me and I have really enjoyed getting familiar with her writing style. The pacing of her books is good and I find myself connecting with the storylines with ease. I am definitely looking forward to reading more of her work.
