Master Botosoni (Masters of the Consulate Book 9) by Sylvia Black – Review by Marie Collins

Master Botosoni (Masters of the Consulate #9)Master Botosoni by Sylvia Black
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I’ve had the privilege of reading and a reviewing a few of the books in this series, and I’m so glad I get to read more of it. Watching each couple add to the world thus far has been amazing.

I can only imagine what it felt like being Catina thrown into the middle of everything. Having to be the strong one in a family of no goods is rough, but she’s doing all she can to keep going. Being thrown into the middle of an underground war is a lot to handle. Her skills are amazing, and I love how she uses them.

Her and Botosoni are hot and spicy, and despite their struggles, they’re fantastic together. I’m so glad I got to read their story 😁😁

A Heart So Savage (The Savage Duet Book 2) by April Moran – Review by Marie Collins

A Heart So Savage (The Savage Duet #2)A Heart So Savage by April Moran
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This duet reminds me of a Mafia style Beauty and the Beast, and it’s amazing. I absolutely loved seeing Ava stand up for herself and show just how savage she could really be. Being a brat myself, I loved seeing their dynamic play out. Some characters have a habit of surprising us, too. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this, and I’m glad I get to review it 😁

A King So Savage (The Savage Duet #1)A King So Savage by April Moran
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I can only imagine what it must have been like to have your world turned on its axis like the way Ava did. She’s smart, brilliant, and a strong woman for enduring the things she has.

Kingston… oh boy.. a lot can be said about that one. Possessive, obsessive, and antihero if I ever saw one. Despite the insanity he puts her through himself, the man doesn’t tolerate anyone else harming her, and that’s not something that abuse survivors typically see. He’s a force to be reckoned with.

Together… holy mackerel… the heat, the tension, the fire is intense. I can’t wait to see what comes next.

Hope For A New World (Gaia’s Voice Series) by Renee W Peek – Review by Marie Collins

Hope For a New World (The Hope Series Book 1)Hope For a New World by Renee W. Peek
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I love the aspect of how people can communicate and understand Gaia, Earth, and how they do what they feel is right and important to do. I also thought it was cool that both Gaia and Adelphi communicate to lead the way. Unfortunately, since they are doing something new and “changing” things, it’s going to cause rifts and irritate some of the wrong people. When things go down, it’s always important to know who is in your corner, and I think this story has a very good way of conveying that idea and fact. Watching this group of women band together to protect their future… is an amazing ride!

Milo and Benji are adorable. They’ve both been through so much, but they still push through. Against all odds, they can’t help but come back to each other. There were moments I was laughing out loud, and others where I was shaking my head and rolling my eyes. I’m glad I read this book.

Per usual, I really enjoy how authors show both sides of the story instead of one character’s perspective. It allows us to see more and get a better understanding of the story as a whole.

Ebun and Noah were clearly meant to be. Like ordinary couples, they have their own issues and some that come to affect each other. I loved seeing how they kept coming together through the years and how their love never seemed to dissipate.

It is a fantastic read that can be gone through in 48 hours, at least… I did haha. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Lordy..

I thought she couldn’t get any more amazing. Lol, boy, was I wrong. Gwen never ceases to make me smile and giggle. This story is full of rocky roads, twists, and turns. I love her crazy family; it helps me feel understood when it comes to mine, minus the paranormal abilities 😂

I cannot wait to see what comes next!! I read this book in a day and a half, I could not put it down.

Wild Lavender (Heart & Hand Series Book 1) by Nicole E. Kelleher – Review by Marie Collins

Wild Lavender (Heart & Hand, #1)Wild Lavender by Nicole E. Kelleher
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

**trigger warning** Lord Roger is a pompous jerk who thinks he can get what he wants, when he wants, and however he wants it. He saw his arranged marriage to our lovely Aubrianne as nothing more than a business deal that would give him whatever he wanted. I was almost in tears when I read what happened on their wedding night. She deserves so much better, and he never in his life could ever deserve her fiery spirit.

Aubrianne is a beautiful wild spirit. She breeds, tames, and cares for the horses that someday become used for war and the guard. She’s one of a kind. The type that can provide what most others can’t.

This is one of those lordship books. Like you get to see how things are behind the scenes in the workings of the court and nobility. It has a fantastical side of it as well that draws you in, and it makes you wonder what’s coming next and what it all means.

I definitely had a lot of questions and silly comments throughout the series. I found myself talking to the characters and shaking my head and laughing a few times too. I loved getting to see how things progressed for each character and how good reigned in the end. I’m glad I got to read this series.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This series fascinates me. I’ve had the privilege to read books 4 and 5 as well, and I love how it incorporates the triad of paranormal/supernatural creatures (vampires/witches/werewolves). The witty humor and the edge of your seat action make it hard to put down. I also love how connected the story world is because it’s easy to miss certain characters from previous books, but stories like this, you can see them from a different perspective as the spotlight is on someone else.

I think its mindboggling how some of the strongest people can be minding their own when they wind up in the middle of a crazy situation of other people’s making. I mean, for one, Veronica is the top in her field, and she ends up in a nightmarish situation. Even the strongest people need backup and support. I love how the author brought all of the elements together. I love the quirks and the witty humor. I swear, I laughed so hard a few times, it left me snorting. Absolutely spectacular!

Rise of the Hunter is… intriguing. I still think the different points of view of each important character is fascinating in this series. The fact that this one dives in a little deeper about the gods and the prophecy’s first expression and being written deepen the story realm by a lot. The history is so much fun to hear. I love these characters 😍

Ethan and Siena are from different places in the same world. Fashionista closeted masochist and mafia family club owner find each other in strange circumstances. I love stories like this because it shows that love can be found no matter where you are in life and what culture and environment you’re involved with… and I’m not gonna lie, but the chemistry is insane between these two.. I am grateful to be able to read this story for myself.

The candor and brutal honesty of this series is grand. Like there’s nothing hidden, you see and hear everything. There’s always a mystery to be solved, and… Reluctant characters drawn to each other through thick and thin. The irony of the bonds being with others that they’d never see themselves connected with in any other way outside of Space Force. 👏👏👏 *Round of applause*

The poet has a way with words. There are so many that I have never even heard of that I would have to look up just to know what they mean. It presents a challenge, but at the same time, I love that. It’s fascinating. I love the different colors in the pages and the honest views of life. I really liked and could relate with these: Page 30, 32, 59, 83, 88-90.

These short stories are eery and make you think. They definitely clarified the idea that I’ll be steering clear of any haunted places haha. You never know what is lurking behind and in the shadows. Our brains can do some spooky things. If you like Stephen King books and stories, you’ll love this anthology!

I think one of my favorite parts about this series is that it doesn’t matter where someone comes from. Some of these characters will do the right thing even if it goes against their society’s norms. The most unlikely of actions can from the people we least expect them to. Their love that should be forbidden in every sense has changed their worlds in ways I doubt either of them imagined it would.

Lois has done it again. She’s taken one of the children’s stories we’ve heard again and again and made it make sense with her awesome sense of humor. It’s adorable with the way it’s written, and I absolutely love the font changes and the creative text placement throughout the book!! It really stood out to me, and I haven’t seen it done the way this was in a good while. Bravo 👏

Spunky and sassy Gwen Carter has some of the craziest friends and associates to name. This story has had me rolling in laughter and then taking a double take with an “oh snap” the next minute. She herself has a give no f***s attitude, and it’s fascinating to watch. She’s got a lot of chaos in front of her but she does everything she can to keep her ground. She’s one of my new favorite characters haha. I’m so glad I get the chance to know her 😁

I’ve heard and read a lot of different Hansel and Gretel stories, but this one was fantastic. I found it really cool how Gretel drew pictures of the animals and landscape along the way. The whole alteration of the original story was interesting to see unfold, especially when accountability was shown. Fantastic job ❤️

Straight for the Kill (Benoit and Dayne Mystery, #3)Straight for the Kill by Winter Austin
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I’ve always wondered what it would be like to read a mystery novel about small town cold cases. This story does not disappoint. It shows the true effect that something like murder can do to a small town. It affects everyone. The hard part is knowing who to trust.. Even after a surgery and years of trauma these women don’t let that stop them from putting an end to the bad guy.

The author also does an amazing job with story and world building. I can’t wait to see what comes next.

This is one of those Mafia stories that shows it all. The inner workings of the Mafia families, the fights, the shootouts. The author does an amazing job with character building too. Emelia is a badass spitfire who isn’t afraid to stand up for herself. While Dominic is the underboss who is protective of her from the jump. Enemies to lovers in one of the most dangerous worlds possible. Definitely worth the read.

To read a story set back in the times where women were sent away for the most natural things is something new to me, but I enjoy the realism. To have a gift or something about oneself and have to wrestle with it is hard, but the author does a good job of presenting it. I love the scenery of the landscapes and the detail that is put into the characters. The story makes it easy for curious minds to grip onto and start asking questions.

This story is amazing… Tallie Brown is by far my favorite character yet. She’s been through trying times and as a strong female lead character, she fights with everything she has. Despite all of the hard life she was forced to lead, she makes the best of what she’s got. She uses her talents for good and keeps going.

I love how involved the author is with her military knowledge and the way that she conveys the story. Her acknowledgements are also heartfelt and I appreciate it so much. She did an amazing job and I look forward to reading more of her work.

Chase and Katarina are interesting characters. After reading the synopsis of the book, and actually reading it, I feel like I’ll need to read the next book in the series to understand them both better. They both have so much backstory that will later be built on, and it leaves an element of mystery for the reader. The characters do an amazing job coping and handling everything thrown at them throughout the story. If you enjoy series that build on the previous books, this is definitely a story that I would recommend. If you don’t, I truly believe you’re missing out.. haha
