Master Calabrea: Dark Vampire Romance (Masters of the Consulate Book 6)Master Calabrea: Dark Vampire Romance by Sylvia Black
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

As the vampires search for the traitor to their kind, Master Calabrea is paired to work with Tansia; a human. The two share an attraction right from the start but fight hard to ignore it. Soon the two find that not all is what they think. Tansia and Calabrea cannot ignore what is between them forever. When danger comes for Tansia will Master Calabrea be there for her?

This is an interesting story that gives readers another look into the paranormal world that this author has created. Be aware that it is book six in this series and does end on a cliffhanger. I liked that Tansia is a strong woman who can hold her own and she is a good match for Calabarea. The two work hard at what they have and when evil comes to interfere Calabrea must make a choice about his emotions and Tansia. I enjoyed seeing the relationship build between these two as the worked together to defeat the evil that threatens them all. The author does a nice job of mixing the romance and action together giving readers a nice addition to this series.

Master Calabrea: Dark Vampire Romance (Masters of the Consulate Book 6)Master Calabrea: Dark Vampire Romance by Sylvia Black
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Master Calabrea is hot, sexy and single. Many are seeking to be his mate for power and prestige. He has no interest. Vangs will come out when the green eyed monster raises its ugly head.

The hunt for Isala is getting closer and closer. Many factions will need to work together to make this happen.

Emby’s cousin Tansia has come to Italy to work at Descalia nightclub after a break up that has broken all trust and self confidence. She is a spitfire that takes no guff from anyone. Quite capable of looking after herself. I loved her spunk and attitude.

Tansia’s job offer changes when she gets to Italy, with her agreement to the new job offer, she is sent into danger a human should be terrified of.

Loved this book so much. Excited for the next book to see what happens.

Master Calbrea is one of the vampire council members and oversees his piece of territory in Italy and now the search for Isala has come to him and he is determined to find her, he is the proverbial tall, dark and handsome and all the women love him for it. Tansia is a woman with a troubled past and deep seated insecurities because of it, so when she moves to Italy for a fresh start, she doesn’t expect anything more than a job and a chance to see her close friends, however, when she meets her friends, she is also offered a chance to use her skills to aid in a search, but there is one person who doubts her abilities and Tansia has never backed away from a challenge.

When Master Calabrea and Tansia are partnered together, they are reluctant, but it is a feisty mix with Tansia’s fiery, red headed personality and Calabrea’s dark determination, however, what they don’t expect is the heated attraction which is sparking between them. Meanwhile, Isala is turning more of the supernatural community against each other and manipulating those around her for her own gains, while placing false leads and trails everywhere.

As the days pass and they get closer to Isala, Tansia starts to discover she has some magical abilities and visions, but these are both a blessing and a curse as they lead her into insurmountable trouble and against the orders of a certain vampire master. Will her headstrong determination to protect the community she is beginning to love lead her to a brutal choice, but will she choose a future filled with love, or an ending? This is another fast paced adventure full of romance, action and supernatural antics, where time is running out and it is a race to see who will end up on top.

Master Calabrea: Dark Vampire Romance (Masters of the Consulate Book 6)Master Calabrea: Dark Vampire Romance by Sylvia Black
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was another good vampire romance in the Masters of the Consulate series. This book sort of leaves off where book 5 ended – Isala is trying to overthrow the underworld and kill her sister. They have been hunting her and finally feel they are on her trail. In book 6, things are going down in Master Calabrea’s territory. They do not know who to trust because even their own kind seem to be turning on them. Master Calabrea and Overmaster Descallia are going over plans to keep everything under control. What Master Calabrea didn’t plan on was Tansia, the cousin of Embry, who works for Overmaster Descallia and is with his right-hand man, Lucus. The tension between Calabrea and Tansia is there from the start – he doesn’t want to have to take care of another person, especially a human even though he is physically attracted to her. Tansia, doesn’t want to get involved with the underworld, she just left a bad relationship, and she doesn’t like how Calabrea is eying her up and down. However, Overmaster Descallia groups them together to try and find intel on what is going on. Tansiacomese to find out that she should have powers of sight; she does not believe this to be true because she claims she has no powers. However, it is foretold that her sight and a master will save the underworld. This partnership quickly takes a turn toward romance. Because of the blossoming love, will that help them save the underworld, will she gain the power she needs to win this war, and will being a human get in the way of everything?
I thought this was a good addition to the series. It wasn’t my favorite story in the series, however, but I am glad that answers are finally coming to the forefront. I thought the characters were great. Tansia is a badass woman who is proficient in martial arts, and for a human she can really handle herself in their world. Master Calabrea is a little mysterious and rough around the edges, but completely loveable. The banter at the beginning that they have gives great build up. While I love that this book, and many of the others in the series, moves quickly along, the love story portion of this book happened in a blink of an eye. One minute I felt like they would never allow this relationship to happen, but then the next chapter starts and it is a completely different story. I would have just liked a little bit more build-up. Overall, still a good addition to the series.

Master Calabrea: Dark Vampire Romance (Masters of the Consulate Book 6)Master Calabrea: Dark Vampire Romance by Sylvia Black
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the 6th book in the Masters Of Consulate and wow this series just keeps getting better and better. I love the danger, the romance, to mixture of vampires and shifters and witches. These books literally tick all my boxes.

In this story we are with the Masters trying to still find Isala and the rouge witches and shifters that are trying to take over control. In this story the hunt and arrived in Master Calabrea’s area and he is one vampire you definately don’t want to mess with. No one dares answer him back or stand up to him. That is until he meets Tansia. She is fiesty and when she is tasked to work alongside Calabrea neither of them could know the feelings that would evolve between them.
Add to the danger of all the rogue members of the underworld after them there is also the jilted lover of Calabrea to deal with.
As thoughts of not being good enough swim through Tansia’s mind the option to change is taken from her hands when it becomes a matter of life or death. Is this what was seen the prophecies? Who or what actually is Tansia and what part will she play in saving the vampires and protect their way of life. Is this a case of fated mates and what will the consequences be of her and Calabrea teamed together for eternity? Could Tansia be the missing piece of the puzzle to finally catch Isala?

Master Calabrea: Dark Vampire Romance (Masters of the Consulate Book 6)Master Calabrea: Dark Vampire Romance by Sylvia Black
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the 6th book of the ‘Masters of the Consulate’ series. Each book is about a different master vampire meeting his mate, joining together to fight a war between the races. With that saying, you can read each book as a standalone although in my opinion you should read them all. There are mentions of previous characters as they all band together in this fight.

This time around, the book is about Master Calabrea and Tansia. Tansia comes in hopes of starting a new life after a past relationship ending due to unfaithfulness. That causes Tansia to have trust issues when it comes to men. She is welcomed to help the vampires by her cousin and friend who are both mates of two other Masters. When meeting Calabrea, a dark sexy playboy vampire, Tansia can’t help but instantly feel attracted to him. No way was that happening. A human and a Vampire Master?

Calabrea can’t help but notice Tansia too. With fiery red curls and jade eyes that pierce into you, he can’t deny his attraction but he wasn’t going to admit that to anyone. The couple, both being as stubborn as can be, decide to fight against the attraction by being sassy to one another. There is a prophecy that a woman with red curls and jade eyes will team up with a strong and noble vampire, the future vampire queen thinks that the prophecy is about Tansia and Calabrea.

Will they stop being stubborn enough and embrace the prophecy and potentially each other? Will it get in the way of their mission of finding Isala who is after the future queen?

I have only read a couple books of this series but I immediately added the rest of the series to the want to read list. The author is a great story teller. Which character has their own personality causing you to fall in love with every new couple. I cannot wait to read the rest of the series!

Dark and suspenseful paranormal romance
Book 6 in the Masters of the Consulate had all aspects that I have come to expect and love from this series. With a sexy, alpha vampire and a strong, sassy female lead, the stage is set for another brilliant instalment to the series. With mystery, suspense, action, romance, magic, witches, vampires and wolves there’s something for everyone. It is worth reading the previous books, as there is a continuing storyline and it’s great to get the background of all the reoccurring characters, though this can be enjoyed as a stand-alone. Each book is getting better and better (still loving Embry- lol). Bring on book 7! Highly recommend.

Calabrea and Tansia have a pull to each other from day one. Tansia is absolutely amazing and captivating. Beautiful woman with a brilliant mind. As she immerses herself more within the task she’s given she learns that she has higher calling within the paranormal world, and this new life is just beginning. Calabrea is set in his ways and stubborn, but can only deny their situation for so long! Just like the others this book is a must read. How have I missed this author?
This book (6 in the series) can be read as a standalone and I am assuming the rest of the books are as easy to read and hook you in as much as this one does.
We meet and follow the partnership between Tansia and Master Calabrea, as Tansia is embracing the new after a bad relationship, she is certainly not looking for a relationship let alone one with Master Calabrea. Add in some supernatural sight and prophecy and the story grows and continues to keep you enthralled.
A definite book hangover to deal with after trying to read this all on one sitting.
Yet another great book in the series. It’s fast paced with action and some steamy scenes. Master Calabrea is content to not have a mate and have non-committed relationships. That is until he meets Tansia. It’s been told in the Vade Mecum, the book that the Vampires value as a set of rules, that a woman who resembles Tansia in looks will save their race. She will partner with a fierce and noble vampire leader who could possible be Calabrea and have the power of site. How much of it is true? Calabrea is if course attracted to her physically but finds that he is becoming enamored with her for her feisty personality. Soon things between these two heat up in the bedroom but end up getting a bit messy when a former lover of Calabrea gets jealous. In the midst of these two trying to figure out how to make a relationship work between a Vampire and a human they are also helping Overmaster Descallia hunt down Isala. She is still out there building an army to take them down, but will she be successful? Or will they find her before any more damage is done? This books, as well as the others, can be read as a stand alone however there are some parts that make more sense when reading them in order. You won’t get lost if you don’t read the other stories, but you can get a better sense of what is happening instead of being thrown to the wolves so to speak and having to play catch up.

Master Calabrea: Dark Vampire Romance (Masters of the Consulate Book 6)Master Calabrea: Dark Vampire Romance by Sylvia Black
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the first book I have read by the talented Sylvia Black, and I was hooked before I read the first page. Growing up I was always drawn to vampires, shifters and magic and this book has it all. From the dual perspectives of Master Calabrea and Tansia this book is an adventure to prevent a war within the factions, to protect the civilized world the vampires have created.
Master Calabrea is one of twelve consulate masters, each running their own region of the world where vampire history is entrenched the most. Calabrea’s region is the southernmost tip of Italy. A traitor, Isala is turning others from all factions against the current order, and ruler Overmaster Descallia. The world knows about vampires openly but there is order, no attacks on humans for feeding all factions cohabitate the world together. Isala is against this order and misses the old ways. Tansia is a human from the states and after a nasty breakup is finally taking charge of her life with the help of her cousin Embry. New place, new start. Moving to Italy her cousin has already found her a job at one of the Descallia Clubs as a server. Only she didn’t find her one job but two, the Overmaster has a mission to hunt down Isala and bring her in alive to question but finding her requires a special ops team. Tansia is very skilled in several languages and thus recruited as a translator for Calabrea’s team, she agrees but quickly questions herself on what she has just agreed to. With unexplainable desire between Master Calabrea and Tansia this adventure as a steamy undertone from the beginning, and with both of their pasts you wish them all the happiness they can find. After visiting a witch Tansia is informed that she has the power of sight, that it runs in her family and quickly learns that its true. Giving into their passion Calabrea and Tansia feel an undeniable connection that helps fuel their need to protect each other.
What does Tansia’s powers mean? Are they truly the duo the Vade Mecum speaks of? Will they find their happily ever after, together? The beautiful world the author creates pulls you in with every word. I felt emersed in the story feeling for the characters and hoping for a happy ending. The characters a well-rounded with different sides and realistic responses to the trails of their mission. I can’t wait to go back and read the rest of the Masters of the Consulate series and including the next book Master Campania out July 28th.

Master Calabrea (Masters of the Consulate Book 6) by Sylvia Black – Review by Amanda Haller-Doris

I thoroughly enjoyed book six in this explosive series about vampires, humans, wolves, and witches. The author did a great job of doing a subtle recap for readers who have not read the previous books in the series. It absolutely helps to have read them, but it can be read as a standalone as well. The attraction between Calabrea and Tansia was immediate and according to the Vade Mecum, the vampire’s guide and rules for the past, present, and future, it was fate. Tansia was a stellar heroine, who was strong and able to hold her own, while still being vulnerable. Calabrea was a dark and sexy vampire, who also had his moments of vulnerability that made him all the more appealing. Not only was the story steamy as all, the story line of trying to track down the rogues who are trying to take down the vampires, continues to heat up. It sounds like there will be 12 stories planned for the series, and if that is the case, I am so excited to see where the story line will go and which characters will take center stage as they fight to preserve their way of life.

Master Calabrea is leading a hunt for a terrible enemy of his vampire community. When he’s partnered with Tansia, who is known to have visions and powers, will they work successfully together or be the end of each other? I’m ready for the next book to see what the author has in store for us! I highly recommend not only this book, but the entire series. This is Book 6 of the Masters of the Consulate. Even though it is the 6th book it can be read alone without confusion as to what the other books were about. That being said, reading in order does help to build a nuance that you’ll miss otherwise. In this book Calabrea is given a team to help track down and bring in a traitor. On this team is Tansia, a psychic who has her own issues from the past that she is working through while getting drawn deeper and deeper into the world of pure bloods vs the traitors. When she’s attacked and left for dead she and Master Calabrea are faced with decisions that are life altering decision (literally).

Sylvia Black’s book Master Calabrea (Masters of the Consulate Book 6) was a thrilling romance book! If you love books with vampires, witches, human warriors, villainous rogues, and wolves, this book is for you. Two main characters we get acquainted with include Tansia the human warrior, and Master Calabrea the vampire master. We also get to know their friends and companions: Embry, Lucianna, Lucas, Overmaster Descallia, Raven, Angel, Roman and so many more. We wouldn’t want to leave out the not-so-friendly characters in the book including Isala (Lucianna’s sister), and Sierra (Master Calabrea’s jealous ex).
This book starts right out and takes you on a journey to find the illustrious Isala, who is luring other affiliates from all the different groups to join her to overthrow the vampires. Will the vampires be able to work together with members of the other groups or will they find out that they can trust no one?
What’s up with the fire burning between Tansia and Master Calabrea who just met for the first time at the beginning of the book? Will these two continue to ignore their attraction or will Tansia’s humanity be too much for Master Calabrea’s vampiric ways? How does Sierra react to the obvious attraction these two have for one another, you’ll have to read the book to find out these answers and more.

Here’s a vampire story with not much graphic vampire action. Some romance and angst, lots of action and adventure. And for me, lots of questions.

This is book six! in this series. Yes 6! There were times when I knew there was more to the situation, characters that had a past, something lingering. This story ends in a cliff hanger so there’s more coming, which is a good thing. I look forward to reading the first 6 stories to see why the Masters are chasing Isala, who or what are the Descallia, who are the syndicate and why do they seem to be the “elders” but also the troublemakers? I look forward to reading the next story too, so I can find out what happens with Tansia, she has things going on and discoveries happening but there is more for her!

The writing is strong, and I can tell this series is good. I definitely advise reading this series in order.

This is book six in this series. I would suggest reading from the beginning to understand why things are happening. The hunt for Isala continues. This time Master Calabrea is leading the team because it is in his territory. What he didn’t expect was to be saddled with Tansia. She is a fiery redhead who has definitely caught his attention. Outspoken and vivacious, Tansia thought she would be coming to Italy to start a job and get her life back on track. Never in a million years did she expect to be chasing a wayward and very dangerous vampire. Fate has a hand in all things and this was meant to be. A fire ignites between the two. Can a relationship work between a human and a vampire? Will they even survive to try?

There were some editing issues and spelling mistakes but all in all this is a good story. It’s another exciting addition to this series.

This is the 6th book in the Masters of the Consulate series, and it’s just as good as the rest of the series.
As with the previous books, the novels are short and easy to follow, and the writing flows nicely. The novels are descriptive, and the characters are lovable and unique. I thoroughly enjoy this series and always look forward to the next book in the series.
Master Calabrea has been given an important task by the Overmaster, he is thrown in the path of Embry’s (a recurring character in previous books) cousin who is visiting. They both fight the attraction but are forced together to complete the task given to them.
I really liked the character of Tansia, she’s flawed but devoted and so strong. She’s had her share of problems but is strong enough to push forward despite her setbacks.
Although this book could technically be read as a standalone, I would highly recommend that the series be read in order to gain a deeper understanding of the ongoing story which begins in book one and to get the know the other characters a lot better.

Master Calabrea: Dark Vampire Romance (Masters of the Consulate Book 6)Master Calabrea: Dark Vampire Romance by Sylvia Black
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Fantastic continuation of the series! I love that Black is able to keep the flow from one Master to the next without missing a beat. I will STRESS that this is a series and you need to read them in order. They really don’t work as standalone novels, but you aren’t going to be disappointed with having to go back and read the first 5 novels 😉
We are invested in the “love/hate” relationship between Master Calabrea and Tansia. The dynamic between them is steamy, dramatic, dangerous, and so much more. This installment definitely gave me all the feels! I really love how Black develops her characters and advances her plot lines. I would classify these novels as dark, paranormal romances. If you are into sexy, possessive vampires then you definitely need to check out this series!

Book 6 in this series and I am still absolutely loving it! In this latest instalment we follow Master Calabrea as he is set the task of an enemy of the vampire community Isala. I loved the first meeting between Master Calabrea and Tansia who is on his team. There was something between them right from the very start and I enjoyed reading their story. I actually really liked Tansia, she was a great female lead in the story and could definitely hold her own, she had a history which made her an interesting character to get to know. I am really excited to see what happens in book 7 in this wonderfully dark vampire series!

Master Calabrea: Dark Vampire Romance (Masters of the Consulate Book 6)Master Calabrea: Dark Vampire Romance by Sylvia Black
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Master Calabrea has been put in charge buy the Overmaster Descillia to find the traitor, Isala and bring her in. So when he meets the team his is tasked with her is drawn to the mysterious red head who is destined to be trouble.

Tansia is committed to the cause, deeply respectful of the vampire community but when her physic abilities are discovered can she feels that she is more capable of going it on her own but when Master Calabrea demands that she not take things into her own hand’s things go side wards and she is left fighting for her life. Can Calabrea find her in time to save her?

I love this series and these strong characters, this book as the rest is well written and follows the Consulate while they are trying to find the traitors in their mist, although this could be read as a standalone novel, I feel you may need a little background when it comes to the main characters.

As always, the book is fast paced and draws you in quickly into the story, I love the character of Tansia her sassy, feisty attitude is a welcome equal to the Alpha nature of Calabrea. I always love a flawed character and you get that with Tansia and her history. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.

Master Calabrea (Masters of the Consulate Book 6) by Sylvia Black

Master Calabrea is the sixth book in the Masters of the Consulate Series. I’m a huge fan of this series and recommend reading the previous books if you haven’t already started them. They are just as good as this one. Master Calabrea is in a race against time has he is leading the hunt for Isala who is a very evil enemy of the community of vampires . This should be an easy in and out as he knows everyone in the territory. But plans are meant to be stalled when he’s ordered to partner up the fierce red headed vixon Tansia, she will stop at nothing to help out the vampire community. When they are attacked will the choose each other and life as they know it? I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I look forward to reading more from this Author.
