This series is amazing, and I find this book one of the best in the series. As far as a paranormal series, I find it has elevated what I expect when I read a paranormal. It has some of your favorite elements of a paranormal, but also has a mafia feel as well. Master Trentino is dark and delicious read with danger, intrigue, and forbidden fruit. I love the whole series, but this one exceeded my expectations!

As the overall story line continues for the Masters of the Consulate series this book focuses on Trentino and Angel’s story. As in the first two books of the series there is a BDSM theme and may be a trigger for some. While you could probably read this as a stand alone without massive amounts of confusion I would strongly recommend reading the series in order, things will just make much more sense. In this book we have Trentino, a master vampire and Angel, the niece and sister of several higher ups in the human Syndicate as the main love interests. In a chance meeting at the beginning of their story the two have a quick but intense passing where Trentino becomes positive they will have some kind of future relationship. This almost does not come to pass as enemies try to wipe out her family. Trentino finds her with just enough time to turn her but will not do so without consent. Getting the permission of her brother Trentino starts the process. When Angel comes to she has a lot of prejudices to overcome as she was raise with vampires being the enemy Trentino and Angel continue to spark and realize that they belong together which helps Angel, along with the help of her special gift, overcome her fears quickly. The two work with the others to try and discover who is behind all the treacheries they have all been facing. This has by far been my favorite book of the series so far. I love how all of the characters and relationships among each other continue to grow and the continuing story line continues to draw you in with each added detail. I will definitely be continuing the series as it comes.

I love a great vampire book and this series continues to truly swoon me in! This is the 3rd book in this series and I can say I love them all but this is my favorite. Trentino ends up saving Angel’s life and has to turn her in order to do so. I also love the sizzling moments between Angel and Trentino and their chemistry that leave my heart racing. Vampires, intrigue, betrayal and steamy scenes all wrapped into a great book!! Highly recommended.

Great series! It ties in police detective work with vampires. The real world, in this case, is the human world we know, mixed in with vampire bars and a vampire overlord. If you like vampires, world building, police work, and romance, this series is for you.

When Trentino enters the home of the Mancino brothers to cover his people as they recover what was stolen from them. Unbeknownst to him, their sister wakes to check what is going on. Angel senses someone in the house but she’s not sure if actually someone or her dead grandmother trying to talk with her like always. Then a vampire traps her in a moment filled with fear but many something more. It only starts to become clear what that was when her home gets attacked, her brother killed, and this vampire enters finding her on the floor bleeding out. Though she’s grown to hate them, her life might just be saved thanks to one. Risking the needs of the community, Trentino will figure out why the Mancinos were attacked and how it connects the efforts being made to discredit and destroy the vampire community.
I actually found myself linking Angel a lot more than I anticipated. I think a lot had to do with the fact that I really struggled in the beginning because though these books are pretty decent and quick reads in the moment you’re reading them, I personally find it really hard to remember what happened. I found a lot of the time that I was struggling to remember who some of the main characters were and what their roles were within the vampire community. I will say that the author’s strongest skill lay in her romantic and smut scenes. With that being said, it took me a long time to realize that there was a larger overarching plot that would last several more books after what I was reading. Additionally, I find it frustrating that the main heroines continue to follow very similar paths of finding their mates and becoming vampires. On a positive though, I really liked how even though Angel wasn’t sure how much she wanted to be a vampire, she dedicated herself to figuring it out and had many great scenes with the other female characters. Overall, I agree with the one master’s comment at the end regarding his perspective on the rules being broken.

Love this new take on vampires!! This is the 3rd book in the author’s series, however, it is the first one I am reading. I love that it is a series, but I felt you did not need to have read the first 2 to understand this book. It is one of those that while in a series, they are also stand alone because each story is about a different set of characters. The new take on the fact that vampires are actually the good guys who have been smeared through history. Everyone knows about all the different species, but humans hate the vampires due to horrible rumors being spread through the ages.
In this book, the vampire world is looking for a trader among their ranks. There are people stealing women and killing innocents to become the most powerful of beings. Trentino is one of the head vampires, Masters, trying to figure out what is going on, who is behind it all, and a way to prove they are not the enemy to the rest of the world. Through the process of searching for the trader, Trentino sires a special human named Angel. Angel is a medium and speaks to the dead, just like her deceased grandmother. Her family is part of a powerful mafia who has hated the vampire community their entire lives. However, one night after meeting Trentino, all that will change. She never feared him and always felt a strong pull or connection before she even knew what he was. The story is a progression of their relationship and how she fairs in his world. She becomes a part of a world she once hated to save her new race. One of the things I love about the book are the characters. The men are dominating, protecting, but respectful and open. The women are badass. While their mates try to protect them, they are also the answer to defeating the bad in the world. The women can fight, take care of themselves, but also respect the order of their world. It also didn’t hurt that the author knows how to write a sex scene – just enough to get you going!

This is a delicious, dark, paranormal romance. With vampires, shifters, witches, conspiracy, hidden agendas, an underworld society, politics, the supernatural, magic, danger, tension, intrigue, drama, emotion, fantastic world-building, twits, dramatic turns. This is a book that could be read as a standalone, but as there are interconnected details, as well as recurring characters that are recurring from the books before. I really recommend reading the other two books, so you know what has happened previously, as they contain information that I feel would help you to better appreciate this book, and the series as a whole.

My favorite book in the series so far and I couldn’t put it down! I love Angel with all her spunk and attitude. I laughed as I could see her drinking and dancing with her new friends much to the Masters’ dismay. Trentino is another hot Master bent on saving the vampire race from traitors as well as protecting his newfound mate. Not only is this one a page turner, but the surprise traitor will throw you for a loop! I look forward to seeing how the characters develop in their relationships both with their mates but also with their friends in the next book.

It’s impossible to go wrong with this author or this series. I’m thrilled to be brought back into the Consulate and meet another Master. While each of these books could be read as a standalone, I love that we learn a bit more with each installment and get a peek back into our beloved past characters. This author truly is a master of her own right with creating otherworldly delicious characters and sucking the reader into another world of her own making. If you like your male characters to be dark, dominant, sexy, and passionate, read this entire series now!
