The Dream Catchers (Prestoria) by J. U. Menon – Review by May Leadstone

The Dream Catchers: PRESTORIA Series Book 1The Dream Catchers: PRESTORIA Series Book 1 by J.U. Menon
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

The book was definitely an adventure for the characters and myself! The author does great in creating tangible and authentic relationships between the characters in this story! I enjoyed seeing some of the Indian Mythology, but I was hoping for more as there was a large variety of Catchers. The concept of the challenges within the dream world of Prestoria was intriguing, however I really struggled to see the tasks the characters were to beat clearly. It did get a little more defined in the latter half of the book, but I struggled to keep up with what exactly was going on. Even so, I would recommend this book for reading as the characters are very relatable, the plotline is consistent, and imagination runs wild.

I highly recommend this novel for you to read!! The author tackled the multiverse with multiple characters, who were pretty diverse in their personalities, with great skill! I truly enjoyed myself with this Science Fiction/Fantasy novel! Even though the author was well thought out and very enjoyable, I struggled a little with the back and forth reading of the multiverse groups. Then trying to remember what happened in the previous chapter/subsection when the change occurs to another point of view. I love the worlds he creates and his characters in these awesome universes! My favorites were the Isonian Empire and The United Commons of Eurotopia, as these particular universes caught my fancy! I love the Utopian feel of the United Commons of Eurotopia, and how the exploration into the new chapter unravels! I enjoy and yearn for a relationship like Rashella and Cysoro have!! The getaway scene has definitely made my list of romantic settings! With the Isonian Empire, it was the way the author created drama between this AMAZING POWERFUL Queen and her relatives! The drama this universe creates has been around for centuries but it never gets old watching it unfold! The other universes are good as well as the characters, but these are the groups I wanted to keep getting to!

Shield & Shade (Ascended Guardians Book 1) by Misty Hayes – Review by May LeadStone

THIS WAS A FREAKIN’ AWESOME ADVENTURE! The main Character Zoey is definitely on a roller coaster of dark twists and turns, angelic loops, and devilish corkscrews, and a story wouldn’t be complete without a boy dilemma in Fort Worth, Texas! (Not Cowboys, oil companies, and horses anywhere in sight!) Zoey and her group face when an infernal demon decides on revenge and destruction of humanity as they know it! Ms. Hayes has written an extreme action-packed adventure, where the reader can view the action from ALL her characters, and I have never seen the action scenes with this detail and raw emotion on every page. The love the characters show for family and close friends is undeniable, and even though the characters are tested and brutally challenged, however, family and love is the strongest bond of all is what I read through this book. Join Zoey Taylor and others on this roller coaster adventure for a one-of-a-kind experience!

Stepping Stone (The Stone Series Volume 2) AUDIO BOOK by Dakota Willink – Review by May Leadstone

The scenes are never dull or boring with Krystina and Alexander! I find myself hoping the story hurries up to the next little steamy nugget! Krystina is trying to stay independent and show she doesn’t need anything, but I think everyone needs to be able to have someone to lean on…and, let’s face it, it doesn’t hurt that it happens to be a billionaire! Krystina is my favorite persona by far in this genre, granted there are many to explore, but right now she is at the top of my list! The story was good overall, but I feel like the pace of this book was way faster than the previous one, and I found myself trying to not think about how fast it was and just enjoy the story. Again the narrators are a bit monotoned and put inflections/stresses on words or sentences that don’t need it, but I was better prepared for that this time. Otherwise, this book was a great “Stepping Stone” away from reality for a little bit!

MORNIN THE SUPER BIRD – FINDS A WAY TO FIGHT EXTINCTION by JULES HEARTLY – Review by May Leadstone

Great message and great illustrations

This book is a great gift for any of your littles! Your children, nephews, nieces, cousins, Etc! I like the message of trying to save the world! It all starts with a single thought and then taking the next step and making that thought turn into actions! The moment you demonstrate the action it can become the motivation others need to make sure “extinct” doesn’t happen! The illustrations for this book were beautifully crafted! The bright colors attract the attention of the young readers the book is trying to appeal to! The author also included a way for the readers to be involved with Mornin’s plan of action! When you finish the book, ask your little “ How would you do it, if you were Mornin?”

Heart of Stone (The Stone Series Volume 1) AUDIO BOOK by Dakota Willink – Review by May Leadstone

A whirlwind romance with a dark side is how I would classify Alex and Krystina’s story! I found this story to be a very enjoyable and delicious read! Though this story is very reflective of others in this genre, I find Krystina’s story more inviting and relatable than previous reads of mine in this category. Her reactions and thoughts throughout the story are the way I might have reacted if it was me in this situation. In most other books I have read, the woman always seems to be “weaker” or “damsel in distress” and this was nice to have someone who is trying to do better than that! Who DOESN’T WANT THAT! Thank you Ms. Willink! The only real issue I had was the way the narrators performed the story! I wanted them to be more expressive than monotoned as well as their emphasis/inflection at places it didn’t sound right to have it. Sometimes they would find the right place other times not..it was hard to get past. I gave it 3 stars as it was something I got used to it and I wanted to satisfy my curiosity about what happened at the end of the novel!! I am looking forward to the next volume!
