This is my first book I have read by this author and I am blown away. I love the writing style she has. The book had a lot of romance, thrill, and suspense. She had me on edge wanting to know what happened next. It was definitely a page turner for me. I love a good book that’s on the long side, and this book was that! The world building and characters was well thought out. I can’t wait for the next book, so I can read that one as well.

Actions and Consequences
An emotional tale drenched in suspense and lightened by hope. This is the first book I have read by this author and it was a great read. There is a rawness about the story, with the heart wrenching and confronting treatment of the boys but also shows the brotherhood that forms. I really connected with the characters and was vested in their plight. Highly recommend.

There is so much to explore within each page and the creativity with illustrations is brilliant. Highly recommend.

Trapping the Butterfly (Butterflies Fly Free Series Book 1) by Debra Parmley – Review by Rayne East

Trapping the ButterflyTrapping the Butterfly by Debra Parmley
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Historical romance
This is a captivating read. The author weaves a story immersed in the roaring 1920s with flappers, gangsters and romance. Bethany is a young girl trying to find her place as she comes unto her own. She has a battle on her hands as her aunt and uncle have a different idea for her future. I found myself caught up in the story right through until the end. The characterisation and imagery were well done. Recommend.

The sleuthing fun continues
Taylor Browning is back with her cats and investigating the mystery around the president of the Sante Fe Wine and Crime book club’s disappearance. With lots of twists and turns and a race against time, Taylor has more than she bargained for. I really enjoyed the storyline and characters, especially Oscar and Cheddar. This was a fun, ‘whodunnit’ that will appeal to a wide range of readers.

Ways to Improve BaileyWays to Improve Bailey by Cori Cooper
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Hilarious rom-com
This original romcom had me laughing out loud way too much. The characters are likeable and Bailey grew so much over the course of the book. There is the kindhearted, compassionate & quirky guy and the self-doubting, sassy girl who have to find their balance to make things work which made this so more relatable. I really enjoy this authors work and can’t wait to see what she brings out next. Highly recommend.

This author is a favourite of mine and she did not disappoint with this twisted paranormal romance. Rose who is a wolf, and Titan who is the prince of the Dutchmen coven, are enemies that have an undeniable pull towards each other. What evolves is a battle of wills that will draw in the whole realm. With brilliant characterisation, world building and storyline this has something for everyone – highly recommend.

Brutal Days: A High School Bully Romance (Hidden Valley Elite Book 3)Brutal Days: A High School Bully Romance by Isla Vaughn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Hardcore
The title is spot on – this is brutal. Damon holds nothing back when it comes to Skylar, in more ways than one. I’m loving the Hidden Valley Elite series and this instalment did not disappoint. It’s a dark enemies to lovers bully romance and it packs a punch. The writing, characterisation and dual POV are on point. My only dilemma is the cliffhanger (which we are warned about). I need Brutal Nights now! Highly recommend.

Dark, enemies to lovers mafia romance
Book 3 of the Sicilian Gods series is about Lorenzo Larussio, the consigliere to the boss & underboss and Izzy Arden, a headstrong reporter. Their journey to happily ever after is far from easy and with so much on the line, will it ever be enough. This Is well written mafia series and each book delivers a punch (or two). Breathless Love (The Bennetts of Langston Falls, #3)Breathless Love by K.G. Fletcher
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Country music romance
Book 3 of The Bennetts of Langston Falls brings us Hank and Ella Mae’s story. It’s a composition made in country heaven. The writing is brilliant and draws you in, and I quickly became vested in the characters. It’s dual POV, which I love, and there is drama, romance and tension that keeps you turning the pages. This can be read as a stand-alone, but it’s worth catching up with all the Bennetts. Recommend.

Fiddle and Fire: A Steamy Historical MMF Romance (Hearts of Gold Book 2)Fiddle and Fire: A Steamy Historical MMF Romance by Ariella Talix
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is a really good book! There was a touch of awkwardness at 1st but honestly … relatable ! In my experience different POVs are usually their own chapters, but here they switched back & forth almost imperceptibly & I kind of liked it. The story flowed beautifully, was surprisingly exciting, & delightfully romantic. I can’t even decide if I’m team Isaac or team Walter, I loved them both so much . I might just be team Suzette, because I’m just like “go ahead girl get them double Ds!!” lol Derriére was a complex & layered villain & I felt slimy every time he was around. Fantastically written, & honestly might have been the best written character. I truly , truly enjoyed reading this story & feeling the glow of such genuine & pure love & friendship. Definitely will be reading more of this wonderful author!

This is book 2 in The Millersville series and is such an intriguing read. Not as dark as the first book but just as thrilling. My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Interesting historical romance
This ménage/why choose romance set in early San Francisco is filled with mystery, suspense, and old fashioned drama. Suzette, Walter and Isaac’s story, though a little disjointed at times, was entertaining. The author does capture the nuances of the era and presents and overall good story.

Foxy Tails by Natalina Reis – Review by Rayne East

Foxy TailsFoxy Tails by Natalina Reis
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Setting the scene
This is a paranormal MM romance adventure story with a quest and a diverse range of characters. Foxy Tails has humour, a bit of intrigue, very slow burn (almost clean)romance, and vengeance. It takes a bit for the storyline to really take off, but once it did it was so good. There’s still so much left to explore so I’m hoping for book 2.

Another great instalment to the War of Destiny series. Book 5 has Julia harnessing her powers in a race against time. This is one series you will want to read from the start as each book flows seamlessly into the next leading to the ultimate climax of events. The author knows her craft and wields it just right to bring well developed characters and magnificent imagery to life. Cecily in the City (The Cecily Taylor Series Book 3) by Krysten Lindsay Hager – Review by Betsy Melano

Cecily in the CityCecily in the City by Krysten Lindsay Hager
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The 3rd book in the series didn’t disappoint. First of all, this is a YA book. I have read the other books and I think it helps to have read them in order. The books are definitely written for a teen audience. They are sweet young romance stories full of misunderstandings, angst, hormones, worry, anxiety, and all those things young people go through.
The author as usual did a fantastic job of world building and writing in such a way that makes young people interested in reading more. Cecily thinks she’s living the dream but soon finds out that the world of show business can be vicious and ruthless. I was happy to see Cecily grow in this book and start to really find her strength. She needs to be strong in a field that can be very dangerous. Looking forward to the next installment of the series.

Love that endures
This is the last book in the Trading Heartbeats series. What a beautiful trilogy this has been. This last book is Mitch and Lauren’s story which is another roller coaster of emotions and a fight from the heart. With a past connection to build on there is so much more they need to endure. All the pieces just click as the interwoven storyline comes to a conclusion.
Highly recommend.

Aliens on Earth Anthology (Limited Edition Romance Collections) by Various Authors – Review by Rayne East

Aliens on EarthAliens on Earth by Mandy Melanson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A true collection of wonderful sci-fi romances
This anthology of sci-fi romance stories that don’t skimp on the details. There is something for everyone from diary excerpts to alien rock stars and even a paranormal sci fi cross romance.
I truly adore Naomi Valkyrie’s work and was pleased this anthology included a short story of hers. The Alien and the Crime Boss is a short MM alien romance that features Leilphun who is on the run after being exiled and heads to Earth for sanctuary. He ends up crossing paths with Kasper, a mafia crime boss, and gets more than he bargained for.
Another great author that I was happy to see included was Danielle Jacks. Alien Prince is a great little romance adventure that had me totally hooked. Naomi and Zenith had so much chemistry and the multilayered storyline was well done.
This is a collection not to miss. Highly recommend.

Quick, easy-read
This contemporary romance was a fun and engaging read. The characters were easy to connect with and the storyline had a great flow. With suspense, steam and sass this is a strong start to the Yours from the Ashes series. Recommend.

Unexpected Entanglement (The Echo Series Book 3) by C.R. Alam – Review by Betsy Melano

Unexpected Entanglement (The Echo Series, #3)Unexpected Entanglement by C.R. Alam
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The third book in the Echo series which I think was the best of the three books in the series. This book brought together family connected by blood and by truth filled friendships. Rowan Kelly is working on bringing the the family Inn back to its glory as a promise to her father. Her brother has managed to create a working farm on their land on a quaint Maine island. When Chris Sullens appears on the island to meet Rowan and her brother to help mediate to bring together meeting his friend, things take a turn no one expected. What could go wrong when Chris offers to help with the preparations for a wedding in 2 weeks?

The author has done it again! Her writing is not just about romance but about the whole dynamic of the main characters Chris and Rowan but all the new and interesting friends that come along to create a world the reader can imagine being in. I sure hope that the author has a few more books in the works for the Echo series!

This book was wild af. I’ve been so terrified of snakes my entire life that my brothers used to chase me around with them until i cried (ikr??). After reading this book I kinda … want to be chased around by snakes ? Honestly at 33 years old I’m suddenly s*xually confused, frustrated in the most delicious way, & don’t know what to do with myself. But anyway, back to the book! This is one of the most unique stories I’ve ever read & I loved every minute of it. Incredibly creative, delightfully twisty, morally grey perfection. Lucifer vibes that I adore entirely. If you want to spice up your life with an interesting s*xual awakening & have a fun little adventure, definitely read this book!
