Composed: An Ash Park Novel (Volume 8) by Meghan O’Flynn is darker, more twisted, more enthralling and compelling read than the others. Meghan knows her craft in this genre and isn’t afraid to put everything on the table to give the reader a compelling and spellbinding read. Just when you think she has out done herself with the last book you read, she manages to top it each and every time. You think you know what is coming but Meghan cleverly weaves her web in an entirely different way.
If you like something a little dark, something engrossing and something a little twistier than before, then Meghan is your girl.
Detective Ed Petrosky never thought he could become a monster but his demons and the job he does seem to make those demons just that little bit darker. Will he make it out the other side?

WIll he find the twisted killer before it’s too late?

These books are so fabulous that I am often at a loss of words for how to review them without giving away all those gritty and juicy details but I alway try because they are too good to miss out on. Composed is the 8th installment in the Ash Park novels and I would highly recommend that you read the books in order before diving in or you may be a lot lost. These books build and we have the steady character of Detective Petrosky that changes and grows as a person throughout. Like in the previous novels his own dark demons of his past will come to light in the present murder case he is trying to solve. He once again finds himself hot on the heels of a serial killer terrorizing the people of Ash Park. I won’t divulge more because that would be a disservice but I cannot recommend these books enough. If you love a dark twisted murder mystery these have it all and more! Prepare yourself time to completely devour the novel because if you are anything like me you will find yourself up well past bedtime to figure out how the book will end. I cannot wait to get my hands on the next book in this series!

Composed (An Ash Park Novel Book 8) by Meghan O’Flynn. This is one of my very favorite series and I love Meghan O’Flynn. I would suggest you read the books in order to be able to better understand the series. These books have caused me more than one nights sleep because once you begin them you don’t want to put them down. Its the continuing story of Edward Petrosky who is a Detective that is just coming back from leave for a justified shooting. He has several demons he is continually fighting and staying sober is the most prominent one right now. This book is the same in the fact that there are multiple murders and he realizes he is probably dealing with another serial killer but when his only real friend/Chief of Police is kidnapped then all bets are off. He will move heaven and earth to save her and if not he will die trying. Edward has pushed every person in his life away dealing with things on his own but when the only person he really cares about it put in a life or death situation he will do what it takes to save her. Will Edward find the killer before its too late? Read Composed to find out you won’t be disappointed!

This is book 8 in Meghan O’Flynn’s ‘Ash Park’ series but each book can be read as a standalone story. This is a gritty fast paced crime thriller which had me gripped from page one and which had so many clever twists and turns that it kept me hooked and guessing until the very last page. The main character, Detective Petrosky was a great character with so many layers to him and an intriguing backstory of his own. Composed’s storyline is chilling and dark, and I became fully immersed in the story. The writer has amazingly detailed descriptions, so I felt as though I was there along side Detective Edward Petrosky.
In this novel the Detective is tormented after a justified shooting in his previous case and fresh from leave his next case is a ruthless serial killer. With the citizens of Ash Park at risk Petrosky investigates, however when the Chief of Police and friend of the Detective is abducted the case becomes personal. Detective Petrosky must discover who the murderer is and stop him before his friend becomes his next victim. As described this is definitely a “dark, twisted, thrill ride”, and I could not put it down. I am already excited for the next book in Meghan O’Flynn’s ‘Ash Park’ series.

This is the 8th book in the Ash Park series and just like the others are gripping from the beginning.the characters are so well written you can’t help but feel the same emotions as they do. Even though this is the 8th book you can read it as a standalone as the characters are clear to understand however there are little flashbacks to previous books that may not make sense if you haven’t read them. That being said they don’t take anything away from this book or make it confusing.

We are back with Petrosky on the hunt for a killer. When a woman turns up dead and mutilated he fears this maybe a serial killer. He thinks his suspicious are confirmed when another woman turns up. Is this the same killer or a copycat?

With no leads to follow things take another twist when his boss is kidnapped. After helping Petrosky battle his demons this case now takes on a personal aspects. When he won’t bend to the kidnappers demands its now a race against time to save the one person who cared for him.

These just keep getting better and better. The author does an amazing job bringing these characters and story to life. I can easily picture Petrosky in my head. His gruffness, how he speaks his mind no matter what and how grouchy he comes off but is a marshmallow with those he cares about. Even Jackson I am getting to like. Still missing Morrison but a female partner brings out a new side of Petrosky.

This one shocked and surprised me. This author has a knack of telling a story but never letting the reader “figure it out”. I love that. She easily draws me into the story with the perfect amount of suspense and familiarization. Even the smiles all due to Petrosky’s smart mouth. When he became fixated on a wasp nest and Decantor in here. I couldn’t help but smile….big!

Overall another outstanding story from Meghan O’Flynn. Filled with gritty, sadistic, sassy characters. I can’t wait for more.

Composed: An Ash Park Novel (Volume 8)
Composed is the gripping eighth book in the Ash Park Series by Meghan O’Flynn. This series just seems to get grittier, and more compelling the further we go. Each instalment manages to slightly eclipse the previous book- leading me on an intense, thrilling, mind-boggling ride- and giving me many chills and thrills along the way.
As with all the other books in the series, I was completely invested and entirely absorbed by the story. I gave up valuable sleep time to stay up reading, because I couldn’t put it down for a minute, I just had to know how everything played out before I could ‘let go’. But even after closing the book, the story stayed on my mind as I appreciated how cleverly crafted it was- while also anticipating what Book #9 may hold.
Detective Edward Petrosky has been battling his demons, through the series, but even more so in this book. He is put to the test when he has to hunt down a cold-blooded serial killer, deal with his personal issues, and try to save his only ‘real’ friend. The stakes are high, time is of the essence, and the killer is a twisted psychopath. So, with a lot hanging in the balance, everything hinges on Petrosky- and whether or not he can wrestle his demons into submission.
Compelling Reading!

Thank you, Meghan O’Flynn!

Whew!! Petrosky is back and with a bang. I love this guy, even as broken and messed up as he is I love him!

This case made me truly cringe and I’m thinking that is exactly what this author wanted. That part of the story is as usual everything you expect from this author, but the part that has me completely invested is Petrosky fighting his demons every minute of every day. It feels so real and I can almost feel his struggles within myself. This to me makes a good author a Phenomenal author. I never want this series to end and was so so happy to see a #9, but I must admit I can’t wait for it to end so I can sit and read every one of them back to back all over again!

If you have not picked up any of these and you even kind of like this genre, you seriously must read this series. It is in a class of its own and this author can write like nobody’s business and I would put her up against any of the big names you associate with this genre!

Loved It!!

This has been one series that I have loved and enjoyed from the first book. I highly suggest reading all the books in this series to help you see where the characters are coming from. This author has continued to impress me with books that pull me into a suspenseful-mystery from the beginning. They are engaging and the characters make the story easy to read. This book is no different. It is fast paced and a page turner. I had no problems connecting to the characters as they brought the story to life. Petrosky is back in another page turner. In this book not only is he fighting himself but one of the most dangerous types of killer. A woman is murdered but when a second woman is killed, he starts to wonder if there is a copycat. But when his boss is kidnapped the story takes on a new meaning for him. When he refuses to do what the kidnapper wants, he is faced with having only one chance to find the killer before he loses the one person who has been there for him. Will this case wake or silence his demons? You don’t want to miss this book and the twists and turns that will leave you turning pages to the end. I lost track of time with this book and felt I was right there. I highly recommend this book and this author.

Fresh off leave after a justified shooting, Edward Petrosky is battling his own brain as much as he is the world around him. His ex-wife has finally stopped calling, and he’s even pulled away from his neighbors. The chief of police might be the only person helping to keep Petrosky sober.

When a woman is found dead near a local running trail, the city goes on high alert. Not only was the victim posed, but her body had been altered as if a crazy plastic surgeon had taken a scalpel to her. This killer is meticulous, careful—in Petrosky’s experience, the most dangerous kind of psycho. But then a second victim turns up, and she hasn’t been mutilated in quite the same way. Strange for a perfectionist suspect. Had the perp been interrupted, or is there a more sinister explanation? Perhaps they’re dealing with a copycat, or a pair of killers—the citizens of Ash Park might be in more peril than Petrosky had anticipated.

But when the chief of police is abducted, the case shifts into unchartered territory. The killer they’re after doesn’t just want to play with his victims—he wants notoriety. And the only way he’ll get it is if Petrosky opens up about the case, a move that could put the chief’s life in more danger.

And that’s a risk Petrosky cannot take. Petrosky’s only shot is to find their perp before the maniac slices into his boss—the only friend he hasn’t managed to push away. Can he catch the killer and muzzle his demons? Or will this case awaken the devil he’s been trying to silence?

Composed is a dark, twisted, thrill ride from bestselling author Meghan O’Flynn. If you like Stephen King’s Mr. Mercedes, Dean Koontz’s Jane Hawk, or Emerald O’Brien’s Knox and Sheppard Mysteries, you’ll love this 8th installment from the Ash Park series!

Let me start off by saying wow!! This book had me on the edge of my seat throughout its entirety. Petrosky is barely holding it together because he’s still fighting to hold on especially as his dead daughter’s birthday is nearing. I stayed up way too late to finish this book because I was so invested and I needed to go where this would end. From one moment to the next I didn’t know what was going to happen or what twist was going to change what I thought I knew. This author is an exceptional writer, the suspenseful stories are top notch and must be read. This book is definitely one of the must reads I highly recommend this book.

AWESOME!!

This is absolutely my go to author now for any kind of crime, suspense fiction and actually any kind of genre. Her writing style is exactly what I love about reading and when I start one of her books I do not want to put them down or for them to end.

This book series could so easily be a TV series, while reading these books I can actually picture these scenes playing out and would love to add this to one of my binge lists LOL

This one had me all messed up, as per usual, I always think I can see what’s coming but then I realize why I’m just a reader. Petrosky is one of my favorite characters ever…He’s flawed, broken, and his inner dialogue makes me feel like I know him now. I absolutely felt all of his feelings dealing with the upcoming birthday of his daughter, and his interaction with Linda totally broke my heart. There is so much more than just solving cases when you read these books.

Not going into any more of this story, there’s a lot of moving parts in this book and every one of them are in perfect sync.

Read this series, seriously!! You won’t be sorry!! I can not wait to go back and read every one of them again.

Wow what an amazing story full of twists and turns that keeps you hooked from the first page.

Ed Petrosky and his partner Jackson are called to a suicide or so it seems. On arriving they realise that the person who has committed suicide is little Greggie Boyle who went missing and reappeared years later.

Ed and Jackson start to investigate and are shocked when suicide isn’t the cause of death but murder is.

Then starts a rollercoaster of an investigation. No one is who they seem to be. Petrosky and Jackson have to retrace the investigation into Gregory’s disappearance to see if there is any connection.

This investigation deals with child abuse, kidnapping and murder but the people who are involved are people no one would expect.

Imposter is the seventh book in the Ash Park series by Meghan O’Flynn. Although these book can be read as standalone, I would highly recommend you read them in order. Ms. O’Flynn is really a master at giving us a brilliant psychological thriller. The twists and turns will have you wondering how Meghan comes up with the plots for her books. This is the best book in the series so far. Detective Petrosky is back, looking into a suicide that is not really a suicide. Just when you think you know who the killer is, BAM, there is another twist. I love how this series makes me think. I do have to say that this series is not for the feint of heart. It is at times gruesome and often disturbing. Twisted minds are common and really graphic. It is the perfect series for those that love to catch monsters.

Imposter is the 7th book in the Ash Park crime thriller series by Meghan O’Flynn. It is the first time I had read any of this author’s work. I used to read a lot in this genre but had neglected it recently. The blurb of this book had me intrigued so I decided to give it a go. What I got was a fantastically well written crime thriller that had me gripped from the very beginning and kept it’s hooks in tight right up to the very end.
In this book Ed Petrosky starts with dealing with the suicide of Gregory Boyle, a teenage boy who had previously been kidnapped for 5 years and had returned home 2 years previously. What transpired from this was an intricate tale of murder, fraud, intrigue, kidnapping and so much more.
As well as dealing with this case, it is approaching the birthday of Ed’s daughter who had been murdered previously and this case is bringing back so many memories of his dead daughter. Ed had hit the bottle hard after his daughter’s death and in this book we see him fight the demon of drink calling out to him at every opportunity.
This book is fast paced and flows very well. Just when you think you have worked out what is going on, the author throws a massive curveball and the story goes in a different direction, keeping you on your toes.
I’m so glad that I chose to read this book as it’s given me a thirst for reading more in this genre.

I have yet to pick up an Meghan O’Flynn novel that I have not adored completely! She manages to take her readers on a fast, thrilling, and twisted ride with each of her Ash Park novels. Each book is written with recurring characters and some overlapping case details. I would recommend that you read them in order and all of them, but I am told they are able to be read as stand alones as well. Imposter is the seventh book in the series and it feels like saying that should come with a this series is getting old type feeling, but I can assure you there is not one dull or boring and repetitive moment in the entire book let alone the series. In Imposter we find our favorite troubled detective, Petrosky as he is once again faced with a ruthless and violent killer. The case will force him to face pieces of himself all while trying to race against time to keep the inhabitants of Ash Park and his own loved ones safe from harm. I can’t wait to see what could come next and if we will get more of Ash Park from Ms. O’Flynn.

I think I was on the edge of my seat the whole way through and I have to say it is probably my favourite out of the series so far! The authors’ writing is detailed, the storyline intricately woven and it completely sucks you in and doesn’t let you out until the end. I have to say I do love Petrosky; he is good at his job and has been a fantastic main character the whole way through this series!
Imposter was a fantastic, thrilling 5 star read that I wholeheartedly recommend!

Sit down and get ready for a thriller!!!!

Meghan O’Flynn did it again. She is one of my favorite authors. Her stories are always intense and mind blowing. Her character development and plot lines are out of this world. The words fly off the page. I would pay close attention to the smallest details because you may miss an important clue. This story took me on a wild roller coaster ride. Every time I thought I knew what was going on, here comes a curveball. Detective Petrocky is with us again. This time Little Greggie who was taken and reappeared to his parents, had hung himself. There was no evidence that it was a suicide. Detective Petrocky is investigating Little Greggie’s suicide there was others who were taken and reappeared only to comitt suicide. Can Detective Petrocky find out what is going on? Will there be more children taken and alive? Will there be a higher body count that Detetive Petrocky cannot stop from happening? I highly recommend this book. If you like thrillers this book is for you.

Imposter: An Ash Park Novel (Volume 7) by Meghan O’Flynn – Review by Sheri Schrader

Imposter (Ash Park, #7)Imposter by Meghan O’Flynn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Imposter: An Ash Park Novel is book seven in this series by Meghan O’Flynn. Normally this far into a series I have fallen off or everything becomes stagnant. O’Flynn kills it with this book. Detective Petrosky is trying to get answers after someone who had been kidnapped suddenly commits suicide. Nothing is as easy as it seems. This has twists and turns which kept me on my toes while reading. Detective Petrosky is a gritty seasoned detective who has seen it all and even he is unsure of what is going on. I enjoy these books because there is a sense of urgency to get to the bottom of what is going on which a lot of crime and mysteries forget. I look forward to reading more from Meghan O’Flynn in the future.
