Regaining Integrity (Code of Honor)Regaining Integrity by Brooke May
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This series keeps getting better and better. The characters are interconnected, but I doot believe reading the books in order is necessary. In Chase and Angelica’s story, Chase returns after serving in the military for many years. His nephew’s teacher quickly catches his eye, and he can’t understand why she isn’t interested. Or why everyone is telling him to leave her alone. Only once he remembers who she is can these two truly have a chance to develop a relationship.

I enjoyed book one, but Brooke May took it up a notch with Taking Flight. She did a great job developing the characters and setting the plot for Holt and Jody’s story. I was pulled in quickly and can’t wait to read the next book involving one of these military men.

Good second chance romance. Duke essentially leaves right after high school after he and Patience finally take their relationship to the next level. Instead of giving her an explanation, he is gone for many years serving his country. Patience and Duke give their relationship a second chance when he returns home after they have gone through lots on their own.
I look forward to the next book in this series.

This was one of my favorite books in the Code of Honor series so far! I love that leading lady Angelica is a math teacher, and that Chase is the military man who was her crush back in high school. He’s the type of man who doesn’t do commitment and she’s the type who keeps her heart locked away nice and tight. What a great twist to the series, in the fact that the leading lady is the one who gets to decide if love will be allowed to enter her world or if she’s going to keep it at arm’s reach. This book was such a great continuation to this series, honestly, you could read any of these books as standalone but it’s way better to read them in order as a series because the people you meet do make an appearance again in this book. The storyline was so terrific, and the characters once again are so realistic that you are drawn in and committed to seeing their actions take flight as there are always consequences to the decisions you make, whether good or bad. I hope to see more books in this series because Brooke May does such an amazing job incorporating military men with great leading ladies, who all follow a code of honor for love.

I love that this book gets you hooked right from the beginning and does not disappoint straight to the end. It’s a quick read, that’ll hold your attention the entire way through. Brooke May did an amazing job with the characters, creating scenarios that fit right in with today’s times, and ways of life. I was rooting for Jody to find her freedom from her sister’s shadow and to be able to follow her own dreams. This book was such a thrill ride of romance, that I just could not put it down. I love the descriptions that create such an amazing effect on the storyline, I felt like I could reach out and touch everything, I literally was living the wild ride that was going on around me. This was a great second book to the Code of Honor Series, I cannot wait to get started on the next book immediately.

I was so intrigued by this book, right from the start. I was rooting for Patience and Duke to fall in love and have their happily ever after right from the second Patience admitted she was in love with Duke while intoxicated at their graduation party. Best friends to partners always make the best love stories ever! As I continued reading, I felt so sorry for all of the trials that Patience went through in her life, it was so realistic. I was so scared that Duke would never return home and that their friendship would be over forever, doomed from the beginning of their adulthoods. What a fantastic story of courage and withstanding everything life throws at you. I was so inspired by the characters and all they did to stand up for themselves and their beliefs. Brooke May did a fantastic job developing all of her characters and spinning a story that is so relatable, you can’t help but get invested in the lives of each person.

Regaining Integrity (Code of Honor)Regaining Integrity by Brooke May

Well I’m a sap. And this is a sad but sappy and happy story. Regaining Integrity can give even the slightest empath, the feels. The author sucks you in, though I’m not surprised having read her books in the past. This book is no different. She’s one of my favorites for a reason. Every single book I’ve read by her makes me feel like I’m the main character. I feel the happiness, sadness, the hurt and pain. I can relate to the characters because they are so raw and real.
Angelica and Chase have been given a chance. Her chance to forgive. And him to right his wrongs, that is if he can figure out how he wronged her. Coming off feisty Chase doesn’t understand why she is this way with him. It’s new and unfamiliar territory, but he knows he still wants more of her and it won’t stop it.
A second chance romance that makes one happy. And though this is the 4th book in the series, it’s a standalone just the same.
If you’re new to this author I encourage you to read it all, you won’t be disappointed. If you’re a fan as I am, enjoy.

Regaining Integrity (Code of Honor Book 4)

Ms. May has definitely become one of the authors that I click on before reading the synopsis. I always seem to fall in love with her main characters even when they start off as giant jerks like Chase did. I always hope they will find a way to redeem themselves.

Chase and Angelica knew each other in high school, but Chase was a party boy who only thought of himself and didn’t care who he hurt. Thankfully serving in the military got him to grow up, at least a little bit.

Angelica was the smart quiet girl who kept to herself but seemed to a favorite target of one of the girls to bully and she was relentless in her harassment. But Angelica got the last laugh with her.

I really enjoyed this book and series. It gives us a glimpse of the past story to go with the modern one.

Reading another one of Brooke May’s books and love it every time. Another great thing is, at least the ones I’ve read so far, are part of a series but can be stand-alone stories. Angelina is a smart, shy teacher who has not had the best luck with love and focused her energies on her confidence. One day while instructing one of her students, she ends up meeting one of her student’s uncle, Chase. As they connect, they have quite a whirlwind of their wildest dreams. As they draw closer to one another, will tensions arise or hold onto what special connection they have?

When she finally meets Holt, an Air Force Pilot, she finally starts to sense the freedom she’s been looking for. Holt himself feels stuck in a different sense. Years of being in the Air Force and currently stationed in Germany, he is definitely not wanting to miss the opportunity to indulge in Germany’s finest, women and booze! After a chance meeting and rare opportunity of connecting in an unexpected way, but is it a strong enough connection in which they continue eagering towards what they are looking for and towards each other?

I absolutely love second chance stories and this is one! I’ve read other Brooke May books and every time she keeps the excitement and love with her storyline and characters! Another thing I am very excited for this series is the characters based within the military services. Quite admirable and courageous roles. This story focuses on Patience and Duke, who were friends in high school and had such admiration for each other but when Duke left for the Marines, he ended leaving things high and dry. Patience settled for another man while Duke lost something that could have been. Now with many years down the road with regrets on both their ends and failed life attempts, are they now ready to rekindle what once was?

I read this as a standalone, but I still enjoyed every moment of it! I am now going back to pick up the previous books in this series as I am hooked! I loved reading about Chase and Angelica. Their chemistry is painted onto the pages and makes you feel warm and fuzzy. Okay, maybe a little frustrated at times, but mostly good, second-chance romance feelings! I think the author did an incredible job creating a world of relatable characters, as each of them added more depth and background to the story. I don’t feel like any of them could have been removed from the book without having an impact to the story. I liked the tension, the drama, and the suspense of will-they-or-won’t they?! The flow was beautifully natural, and I devoured the whole book in one sitting. I highly recommend reading this if you love a quick romance that will leave you feeling happy!

Regaining Integrity is the first book I’ve read in the Code of Honor series and the first book Ive read by author Brooke May in general. I thought the story was well written and paced really well. Together, the main characters had great chemistry and I was rooting for them but separately, Chase just didn’t do it for me. Angie was more enjoyable in my opinion. I liked how the story was told in both Angie and Chase’s perspectives giving a well rounded picture. I would definitely be open to reading more by this author and I’ll likely go back and read more of this specific series as well.

This was a quick read for me and I read it in a day. That said it is an amazing read and grips you from he beginning. You get all the feels straight from the first chapter. You feel connected to the characters refuse. You can relate to either knowing someone like them or because you were one of them in high school. The situation that happens between the main characters in high school sets the tone for the remainder of the book. You will keep turning pages to figure out if the leading female will get over what happened or if the leading male will figure things out and possibly grow up. There is a decent amount of steam in this book that feels natural to the situation. There is character development and growth throughout the book as the characters get older in life. It is a sweet story that has you hooked and rooting for the characters. Even though it is the 4th book in the series it can be read as a stand alone. I haven’t actually read the others in the series and this book makes me want to go and read them all.

I have read a few books from this author and she continues to be one of my favorites. This book is the fourth book from the amazing series called the Code of Honor. It could be read as a stand alone but there are previous characters in this story as well. I love a good military romance but this author exceeded my expectations. I was so excited to read this book so I started reading it right away. I could not put this book down. These characters kept me wanting more until the end. I can’t wait to see what she will write next.

Angelica Reece was not popular during high school. She loved math classes but there was a distraction in her class, Chase. Angie could not stand the Senior that did absolutely nothing in class but sleep. She didn’t like him from the start. Angie now is a junior high math teacher and she is going on her second year of teaching. She loves her job. Angie is loving life until she finds out that her best student is Chase’s nephew. She can’t stand him still with his perfect hair but she just can’t get him out of her head. Will Angie and Chase find out that there is something there or will it is it be like high school all over again?

Regaining Integrity (Code of Honor)Regaining Integrity by Brooke May
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Angelica Reece was a sweet, shy, nerdy good girl high school student who followed the rules, kept to herself, and despite herself, had a crush on the cool, smooth upperclassman and Lothario – Chase Thorne. Chase never met a girl he couldn’t woo, and Angelica was no different – or not really. While she stayed out of his way and didn’t let his efforts affect her outwardly, wasn’t popular, and didn’t slather on makeup and wear short skirts, she was no less impressed than the rest of the female population. Or at least, not until that day in the library.

While finding a book for school, Chase comes around the end of the aisle and begins to sweet talk shy Angelica – is she dreaming? This doesn’t feel like it could possibly be real for him to be telling her how much he likes her…until he kissed her! Angelica had never kissed anyone before, and now her crush was her first? It’s beyond her wildest dreams – until her mortal enemy starts cackling from behind Chase. Her interest in Chase is finally dashed, as she is embarrassed more than she’s ever been in her life!

Chase loves women, and women love Chase. After graduation, he left town to join the military. The strict rules and rugged country he travels around whips Chase into a buff and sturdy man with strong convictions, a sharp jaw and as much charm as ever. While he matured in many ways, his taste for female company slowed down but never went away. When he meets his nephews gorgeous favorite teacher, his interest is piqued.

Angelica kept her grades high in the rest of high school, went to college and got her teaching degree just like she always wanted. While she was a wallflower in high school, however – she now was a confident and straightforward woman who was aware of what she offered the opposite sex. She enjoys dressing to strengthen her confidence, and is not afraid to be beautiful on top of being smart and wonderfully kind.

When she hears from a favorite student how he wants her to meet his favorite uncle that just came back to town, Angelica tries to get out of being on car lane to avoid seeing Chase Thorne again, she feels a bit dashed to realize he doesn’t remember her – and here he was still in first place for being the most embarrassing moment of her entire life! Chase, unaware of how this stunning teacher can’t be impressed by him, keeps pulling out all the tricks.

After a run in with one another in public, Angelica gets a pep talk that convinces her to take her opportunity to experience THE Chase Thorne treatment, the pair become steamy. Chase continues to not remember Angelica, even after having several of his friends and family show shock that he can’t place her. He does feel inklings of a shared past, but with his history he is having trouble placing her.

After blundering through several attempts to get to know Angelica better, Chase realizes he really wants to have a relationship with her. After finally remembering how he knew her in high school, he takes it very seriously to show her how sorry he is for past choices.

This was a cute, quick read that offered some quick steamy scenes but spent most of the time focusing on how much love can make people want to be and do better. Great book to close out summer before all the busyness and stressors of a new school year.

Regaining Integrity (Code of Honor Book 4) by Brooke May. I love this author and this series so I knew I would love this book. Its the story of Angelica who was a nerd and had a crush on the boy (Chase) everyone else did in school and he did nothing but bully her. She moved on with her life and tried to forget about him even though he was in the back of her mind. When she went to college she found her feet and really blossomed. When she begins teaching she finds out she has the nephew of Chase. Chase is a love them and leave them kind of guy until he sees Angelica one day picking up his nephew. He doesn’t remember her at all and tries to woo her every way he can. Will he be able to break her wall down. Angelica won’t be played again and she won’t fall to his charms as quick as she did in school. Read this amazing book to find out! This can be read as a standalone.

Regaining Integrity (Code of Honor)Regaining Integrity by Brooke May
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Angelica Reece was a nerdy kid and at high school was never really in the popular group, although with a crush on the hottest boy in school who would never look at her one day that all changed. Angelica was asked to met Chase in the library and when she arrived, he stood there just as handsome as ever, but what happened after cemented itself in Angie’s head forever and has she really got over it all these years later.

Chase Thorne is back from his military service not quite sure where his place is but working on his family’s ranch is a good start, but when he goes to pick his nephew from school and see Miss Reece his teacher Chase is smitten and needs to get to know this woman better. As time goes on Chase starts flirting and every turn he is knocked down and dismissed, this has never happened to Chase, he has always had his pick of girls, but Angie is different and although deep down he has a feeling he knows her she is not giving anything away.

As Chase pursues Angie, the more Angie is grinding down until her best friends says why not go for the crush you had at school, so Angie throws caution to the wind and takes the leap into a relationship with Chase. Will he remember her from school and the humiliation her caused her or can Angie overcome it and find happiness?

I love this authors books and this one does not disappoint; the main and secondary character are always rich and enhance the story as it goes along. I loved the character of Angie who was so confident as she grown older but still had that fear from her childhood of rejection and then the utter understanding of Chase that if something is worth having it needs to be nurtured and grown not automatically expected. Overall, this was a fast-paced story with a lovely feel good factor and can’t wait to read more.

This was a great 5 star read. I was pulled in right from the beginning. My heart went out to Angelica and the crap she put up with by the school bully. She of course like many had a little crush on Chase. Things take a not so great twist for Angelica and her senior year was ruined by Chase. We jump ahead to Angelica coming face-to-face with Chase. His nephew is one of her students. There of course is an instant spark but Angelica has her walls up. Will Chase be able to make up for the past and give Angelica the love she deserves?

Overall I really enjoyed this read. All of the characters added a great element to the story. Some of them made me angry at times. We get drama, suspense, romance and so much more. If you like second chance romance you will enjoy this read. It can be read as a stand alone but I suggest reading from book one. I look forward to reading more from this author and series. 1-click and get started today.

Love it!! A story of two people coming together in a world of teacher and student fantasy. Love it. When I first read this book I was hooked when I found out that he was the teacher Chase and his mission for all time was just to get the girl and leave but Angelica was the perfect girl that every teacher wants to have in class. First let me say, this author is amazing and everything I’ve read is always too notch. She knows how to keep her readers happy.

This is book 3 in a series of stand alones and does not disappoint. In this book there is Angelica who is a math teacher that everyone loves. She has definitely changed from her teenage years. Now she’s confident, beautiful and doesn’t put up with anyone’s garbage.

Chase is home from the military and cannot wait to get back to his life. Before he left for the military, he was a real heartbreaker. He never wanted anyone for more than a night. One afternoon he picks his nephew up from school and spots Angelica. Not only does his nephew have a crush on her but now Chase decides he wants her also. Chase doesn’t recognize Angelica but she recognizes him immediately. She tries to brush him off but he is persistent. Will Angelica ever be able to forgive him for how he treated her in high school? Will she be able to give him a chance?

Loved this book and the characters. A definite small down page turner!

Angelica was the quiet one in high school that only got attention when people wanted the answers or wanted someone to pick on. College helped Angelica blossom and become the strong and independent woman she is today. Imagine her surprise when a blast from the past shows up as the uncle of one of her students.

Chase is a playboy…he’s a one night and leave kind of man…and his nephew’s teacher is the next woman he has in his sights. However, not only is the situation a lot more complex than he thought it would be…he is learning that maybe he wants more than just one night. But, will Angelica believe him? Or did their complicated history cause them to fizzle out before they even got started?

This book really had me in the feels over the way Angelica was being treated in high school. But, her growth and strength is admirable. And, even Chase did some growing up in this story. These characters were entertaining to read. The story had drama, angst, passion…and even some suspense. Overall, another good book in this series that I will continue to recommend.

In high school Angelica Reece was a nerd that nobody noticed unless it was to get study help or bully. Chase Thorne was one of those and a trick that was played on her had Angelica entering college and realizing she was a strong and beautiful woman. Years later she is a teacher and happy with her life until Chase comes storming back into her life. He does not remember her at all and is trying to win her over with his flirtatious ways, but Angelica is no longer the high school girl with a crush and wont easily fall to his charms. Will Chase realize who Angie is or is she just another notch on his belt?

This was good, I think it pulled a little bit at heart strings for the way that Angie was treated. It also showed sides of how some of these people grew up which I think is the way some people are today. I liked the chemistry and the fat that Chase gets knocked down a peg or two when it comes to his ego. Another great read from this author.

I loved this story so much – it was an absolute pleasure to read. The characters were just amazing and everything I’ve come to expect from this author – she is a very versatile and talented author.

Angelica was a really sweet character and I really did feel for her and what she went through in High School – some people really can be mean! If I was her I wouldn’t want anything to do with Chase ever again either.

Chase is your typical ‘I’m good looking and I know it’ type of character but also he was one of those immature types that definitely didn’t think about the consequences of his actions when he was younger.

I loved when they met again – Angelica has blossomed into this strong, independent woman and I just thought that she was amazing! Chase had definitely grown in my opinion and I could see he did regret his actions when he was younger.

This was a lovely second chance romance read and I loved every second of it. Although it is part of a series it can be read as a standalone.
