This story was out of this world. Full of emotions, past issues, lots of tears and more I found myself feeling like I was immersed in a hallmark movie. While I have read this author before I personally couldn’t wait to get my hands on this book. The cover and the synopsis grabbed my attention right away. But once I delved into the story I couldn’t put it down. While our main male is a tall, handsome veteran with some PTSD issues out female is a librarian with some real family issues. But can love conqur all? You’ll have to read this book to find out for yourself.

This is a cute story. The characters all are well rounded with past traumas that lead to interesting interactions between them. Nash is a military veteran who lost an eye. His past trauma and heartache make him a character I instantly liked. Betsy is a librarian who is careful with her heart. I love the independence she shows throughout the book. The book has many eventful moments and was a cute, quick read from the start. Will definitely be keeping my eyes open for more!

Such an amazing read. You get right into it from the first page. You instantly feel the heat between Betsey and Nash. Being a total book nerd loved that these two met in a library. It’s fast paced and easy to read. You long for it to continue and are sad when it ends leaving you wanting more. This author really knows how to lure the readers in. You will not be disappointed in this book!

Very pleasantly surprised!! This story of Nash, whom is a Marine Veteran and Betsy, a local librarian. Nash is a protector and very caring and is hoping that Betsy can see past his eye patch. He is there to help Betsy especially when a situation arises with Betsy’s sister, Leann and a stalker she was dealing with at her college. Betsy only wants to help and protect her sister with Nash’s help. Will Nash be able to protect Betsy and Leann?

I found this story flowed so easily and it was very enjoyable. If you like a great story of intrigue, some mystery with spark between Nash and Betsy.. this is for you! Looking forward to reading book 2! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

I truly enjoyed Check Out by Debra Parmley. It felt like I was treating myself to read it.

Betsy is a librarian in her local library. She has some trouble getting along with her family and struggles with her past. Nash is an injured veteran suffering from PTSD from his time in the military – he is new in town, jaded, and mysterious. They are interested in one another, but Betsy thinks it is best to wait to get to know each other better while she awaits a visit from her younger sister, Leeann. Once her sister shows up with news she may have a stalker, we find the catalyst that draws Nash and Betsy to one another.

I’d like to see where the relationship between Nash and Betsy goes, as the book ends pretty abruptly. That being said, this was a good read with characters that drew me in and kept me interested. It is pretty quick to get through, and the author has a 2nd book in the series that extends into a story with Leeann after this ends. I will continue to read Debra Parmley!

I enjoyed this contemporary romance and the storyline had me happily turning the pages. Injured Marine, Nash is suffering with PTSD and is rebuilding his life having returned home, when he meets shy librarian Betsy Bobbin. Betsy is initially intimidated by the man with the eye patch and an attitude but she’s also attracted to him. Nash has sworn off women and love after his ex-fiancé was disgusted by his scars but he is drawn to Betsy.
Betsy learns more about Nash when he comes to her rescue when a flat tyre leaves her stranded, and she can’t help but feel the chemistry between them. But when he then rescues her younger sister Leann from a bar, Betsy gets scared by how angry Nash gets and the fight he has with the drunk. She wonders if it’s safe to start a relationship with a war veteran with PTSD. Nash is just as wary at putting his heart on the line again but Betsy brings out his protective instincts.
The couple get closer when Betsy turns to Nash to help when her sister has a stalker, but then Leann comes between the pair. This is a heartwarming romance with a hint of suspense and great characters who are realistic and relatable. The chemistry between Nash and Betsy really comes across in the narrative and I liked the sisters relationship as well. I thought the issues surrounding PTSD were dealt with honestly and sensitively and this added to the storyline.

Betsy and Nash’s chance encounter and the possibilities for their relationship kept me coming back every time I put the book down. Debra Parmley found a way to leave me curious about how their relationship may or may not develop throughout the book. While Betsy and Nash were the main characters, Betsy’s sister played a large part in the story and I found myself questioning her character as much as Nash’s. A deeper look into the future for Betsy as well as Nash would have made the book even better, or perhaps they may resurface again in the future.

Check out a quick read that pulls you in and leaves you wanting more. Betsy Bobbin seems like she is awkward and a little bit goofy but is someone you can relate too. Nash is described as a dark, mysterious and handsome man. Nash is ex military and has so much anger inside but a softness for Betsy. Betsy is hot for Nash but is scared of his anger. Together slowly breaking open the walls each other has they realize that burn for each other. I really enjoyed this book and hope for more.

I found this book to be entertaining. This story is full of romance, mystery, and wonderful characters. Betsy is a shy librarian that keeps her nose in books most of the time. Nash comes off as intimidating when Betsy first sees him and they don’t start off on the right foot. Betsy soon finds out he’s not as scary as she thinks, or at least she hopes because when she finds herself in a bind he is the one that comes to her rescue. Betsy’s sister comes to visit and brings trouble with her. Betsy will do anything for her sister even if it means she sacrifices her personal life. There is attraction between Nash and Betsy but can they overcome their obstacles? If you want to find out what happens between these two then this is a must read. I recommend this book.

Check Out (Bobbins Sisters Series Book 1) by Debra Parmley is a contemporary romance story

When Nash, a wounded Marine who is rebuilding his life, goes into the library where meek librarian Betsy Bobbin works, she is scared by the attractive guy with an attitude and an eye patch. However, when her car breaks down in the library parking lot as she leaves work during a winter storm, the mystery Marine rushes to her aid. When Betsy and her younger sister Leann get into difficulty at a small country-western bar with a drunk who won’t let Leann alone, he rushes to her rescue once more. Betsy, on the other hand, is terrified by the brawl outside the pub between an enraged Nash and the inebriated.

She’s fallen for the recuperating war veteran, but is it safe to fall for a man suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder? Betsy is divided between two options. Will her fear be overcome by love and faith before it’s too late? Nash has met the woman of his dreams, but his wounds are still open. His ex-fiancé was horrified by his eye patch and scars, so he created drama like honey bees. He’s sworn off ladies and their drama, focusing instead on renovating a one-hundred-year-old 2003 Harley-Davidson Road King and attending college classes. He’s captivated by the charming, quiet librarian Betsy when they meet at the library, and she triggers his protective instincts. If only her sister would cease obstructing her progress.

Betsy is surrounded by real drama as a stalker pursues her sister Leann. When Leann’s tutor pursues her, the girls realize that stalking is a serious problem on college campuses. When Leann’s college stalker arrives in town, Betsy turns to Nash once more. A Marine veteran hero with PTSD, a shy college librarian heroine, her younger, less mature sister, and a college campus stalker star in this military romance with a hint of suspense.

I loved this story and the concept of it as well. I loved every page of it. Every chapter was exciting. This is the first book in the series that I have read; I cant wait to read more.

Betsy Bobbin is a librarian, she lives alone and when she is not at work, loves to curl up with a good book, or on occasion go to a movie or dinner, but she lives a quiet life and she is more than happy with it. Nash Ware is a former Marine who has been recovering from injury and moved to so that he can start afresh, but he has been having troubles and still needs to attend his appointments to try and level things out. One day while Betsy is at work, a very handsome man comes in with an eyepatch and an intense look in his other eye, she is intimidated and attracted to him all at the same time, but she cannot resist talking to him when he comes to the counter, although, she seems to say the wrong things each time, however, Nash is quite taken aback and taken with her at the same time, but he is not feeling his best and so is a little sharp with her, but when she seems to be in trouble in the parking lot after closing time comes around, he feels drawn to helping her out. Betsy has closed up and is heading out into the snow and for her car, but when Nash shows up to help her, she is afraid of the man, but accepts his kindness and help, especially when she tries to drive off and realises that she has a flat tyre, Nash offers her a lift home and so she calls her friend to let her know what is happening as she loads her things into his Jeep. He does exactly as he says he will and makes sure she is safe all the while and even offers to take her to get her car sorted the next day, Betsy declines, but she does swap numbers before he leaves.

As the days pass, Betsy and Nash cannot stop thinking about the other and so asks her out, but things don’t go quite to plan as Betsy has her sister visiting and cannot make it, but the next time he goes to see her at the library, he meets her sister and then overhears their conversation of their evening plans and he thinks this would be a good idea of somewhere to go with his friends, but when he sees the sisters getting into a spot of bother, he comes to Betsy’s rescue again, she is more than thankful and her sister is too, however, the side she sees of Nash scares her into thinking that maybe this is a bad idea. The next day after work, when she confronts her sister about what happened the night before, her sister opens up about why she has come to visit and Betsy is worried about her. Meanwhile, Nash is thinking of ways in which he can convince Betsy that she is the girl for him, however, things never seem to go to plan and the drama that Betsy’s little sister keep bringing is starting to worry Nash and it makes him think of the thing his ex-fiancé said and did and how he doesn’t want that kind of attitude around him anymore, but things happen and wires become crossed and nothing is smooth sailing for a while.

As time goes on and Nash and Betsy try to get to know one another more, more and more drama appears and it looks like nothing is going to stop it, but Nash being the gentleman he is steps up and offers to help out in any way he can, but will the drama stop this couple from making an attempt at a love which could become a future, or will barriers and obstacles keep getting in the way of happiness? This is a sweet romance with a touch of adventure and suspense weaved throughout which will keep you hooked and wanting to know more right up until the end.

A very interesting book that provides some action with secrets involved. Who doesn’t love a little sister that somehow gets her drama right in the middle of your love life? The book followed a very smooth story line. There were two other storylines that seemed to be happening that I would have liked to see more on where they went. Secrets, books and librarians, you do have my attention.

This was a really good story. It was well written and the characters were made really realistic. The author does a great job of described PTSD in our hero Nash and how that and his past experiences impact his life.
Nash is a Marine veteran. He lost his eye and wears an eye patch which makes him self conscious and worried about other impressions of him.
When he meet Betsy the attraction is instant between them but both are unsure and have issues they need to deal with. Nash and his PTSD and anger issues and Betsy and her family problems.
Can they work their way through their problems and get together or will their issues keep pushing them apart.

If you enjoy romance novels that have suspense, obstacles, and multifaceted characters, this is a great book for you. Nash is a retired marine who is working through his issues and attempting to return to civilian life. Betsy is a nerdy librarian who lives in books more than reality. When the two lives collide, sparks fly. However, with their own personal troubles and Betsy’s little sister Leann’s, the attempt at romance is harder than expected. My favorite thing about Check Out is it’s not just a romance novel. It has so many aspects that make it a wonderful read, men and women alike would relate and enjoy this story. This is the first book I have read from this author and she blew my mind. I love a good military book but this story exceeded all my expectations. This is the first book of the Bobbin sisters series. I was hooked on the first page and I could not stop until the end. I can’t wait to see what this author will write next.

Betsy Bobbins absolutely loves her job. She has always wanted to be a librarian. Betsy is drawn to a handsome man that keeps coming in and getting books from her. She is a little nervous because he wears an eye patch over one eye. Betsy is about to go home in a very bad snow storm but just her luck her car has a flat. She is shocked that the handsome guy helps her and she finds out that his name is Nash. He was a marine that got hurt in the line of duty. Betsy is falling for this guy but she discovers he has PTSD. She knows he would never hurt her but is she strong enough to help him through it? Also Betsy’s little sister has a stalker and she has to turn to Nash for help. Will they be able to find out who it is before it’s too late?

Check Out is the first book in the Bobbins Sisters Series by Debra Parmley. It is a great contemporary romance novel which I thoroughly enjoyed. It was the first time that I have read this author’s work but I was intrigued by the blurb and decided to give it a try and I’m very glad that I made this decision.
Nash Ware is a marine veteran who is disillusioned with life after his fiancee broke it off with him when he returned from war wearing an eye patch to cover a nasty eye injury. Betsy Bobbin is the local librarian who is intrigued by the handsome man in the eye patch.
I loved Nash and Betsy’s story. Both are amazing characters that I really loved reading about. Their story had me gripped from the very beginning with his visit to the library which has Betsy all on edge, right up to the very end.
The story is very entertaining and flows very well. Betsy is attracted to Nash but finds it hard to let him in, so the path to true love runs far from smoothly for Nash and Betsy.
I’m looking forward to getting better acquainted with the other Bobbins sisters and hope we get more from Betsy and Nash in the rest of the series.

I really enjoyed this read. Jody has always been in her sister’s shadow. While out with some friends she meets Holt, but there is a mistaken identity. Jody is completely different from her sister and my heart really went out to what she had to deal with. She has finally had enough and wants to do something for herself.

I have to say I really fell for Hold right along with Jody. There is a moment that he comes to Jody’s defense and I loved it.

Will Jody finally achieve her dream? Will she also get a HEA with Holt?

Overall I really enjoyed this read. All of the characters added a great element to the story. You can read this book as a stand alone. The author does a great job with her writing and pulls you right in. I can’t wait to read more from the series. 1-click and get started today.

Rock star, military man, mistaken identity, romance

I absolutely love the rock star romance genre, and this is a fantastic new take on that! I enjoyed the mistaken identity twist.

I really enjoyed the contentious relationship of twins Jody (sometimes called JoJo) and Jilly. I really felt for Jody, always coming in second best to her younger sister, even though Jilly is a conceited, stuck up, snob.

I did’t like Holt when we’re introduced to him in this book. He’s just out on the prowl to get his, but through his interest in Jody he grew on me as we begin to see another side to him.

I enjoyed the “hide and seek” aspect of Holt and Jody getting together and finding themselves with and without their normal surroundings.

My reasoning for 3.5 stars with all the good things described above?: While I thoroughly enjoyed the book, it left me feeling like something was lacking, or that I was unfulfilled, but I can’t determine why or what was missing. I’m really enjoying this series as a whole and think this goes well with book one. I will certainly continue reading as new books come out.

Check Out by Debra Parmley is the first book in the Bobbins Sisters Series. This is a great book that really has a little bit of everything in it. My first impression though was the instant connection the main characters seem to have. Right from their first meeting you could feel it. And every interaction from then the chemistry sizzled between them.
This is the first book that I have read by this author and from the description I expected just another typical marine returned home story but what the author gave us was much more than that. The story was really well developed and thought out. It had a depth to it that you don’t always find in these type of romance books which for me made it stand out. I thought this was a really strong start to a new series and a brilliant way to be introduced to a new author.

Both main characters were well developed, and I’m a sucker for any setting that includes a library!

A heartfelt second chance, military guy romance

This is not a fun and light romance read, which is why I enjoyed this book so much. The two MC’s are real with problems and hardships to overcome outside of their potential romance. But that’s not to discount the push and pull to see if they will give their love another chance.

Patience is a FMC that I feel so many can relate to, feeling low in life and going through the process of a divorce. Duke is an American soldier returning home after being medically discharged and diagnosed with PTSD. These two were best friends throughout their childhood, coming to the realization that they both liked one another after graduation, but Duke enlisted with the Marines and disappeared from Patience’s life for the next 8 years.

I felt that the characters and the circumstances were very realistic, though I wanted to smack Duke upside the head for the way he disappeared and stayed gone for so long. Patience has had a lot to deal with in life, but she’s still kicking and enjoying running the bakery in her family’s local grocery store.

I absolutely loved the side characters, both Duke’s and Patience’s moms and P’s aunt, and their meddling ways.

Trigger warning for mental and physical abuse, cheating, PTSD, and loss of an animal, and loss of a child.

This book is very cute, and there were a lot of layers with it. Nash and Betsy Felt something the moment they met. Nash is very much the ideal book boyfriend. He is sweet, handsome, protective, and loyal. The moment he laid eyes on Betsy all those instincts came out , and a silent courtship began. Betsy was a bit harder to gage. She felt the attraction but she was very introverted and to herself. She had the feelings for him, but it took a lot more warming up for her. When her sister Leanne arrives Betsy Is a bit more free, but on the fence with Nash. There is quite a bit of cat and mouse play between them, and when he steps in to help with Leanne’s stalker it ups the ante for everything. It’s a very romantic story and there’s lots of intrigue attached to it. This read is very much worth it.

Check Out By Debra Parmley is a wonderful read filled with genuine, heart warming characters and the Author truly makes you feel like you really know them. This is the first book by Ms Parmley that I have read and I thoroughly enjoyed it. In fact the only thing I could possibly complain about is that it ended too soon! I can’t wait to see what lies ahead for the Bobbin Sisters in future books.

Betsy Bobbin is a cute, quiet librarian working in a job she truly loves with all her heart when she meets Gorgeous Nash Ware a Marine Veteran. At their first meeting Nash comes across as very gruff when the truth is, there is a wonderful caring man who is dealing with a lot under all that gruff. Betsy sees that and attraction builds between the two. Betsys sister Leann comes to visit but someone dangerous follows her and it becomes very obvious he means her serious harm. Betsy turns to Nash for help. It is through this dangerous time that their growing feelings will definitely be tested and they both need to decide if they are right for each other.
