New Haven is a quiet town that begins to see too many tragedies. The families in the community have always been close but things begin to change. This mystery gave me the creeps. A good beginning to a series.

This novel starts right away with mystery and foreboding. Every member of the Woods’ family serves as a protagonist. The story is told through each family member, giving a more complete picture of the history in the small town and its mysterious events. The book gives Stephan King vibes, he loves to tell a creepy story from a small town. This town goes back generations, and rarely see’s newcomers. The townsfolk are not welcoming to anyone that hasn’t always been there. A large, empty house sits on a hill overlooking the town, there are many stories about the house and none of them good. As the book ends, it leaves you with unanswered questions and eager for the next one.
