Chasing Redemption (The Quimby Grove Series Book 2) by Shannon Nikole – Review by Monique Espitia

Chasing Redemption (Quimby Grove #2)Chasing Redemption by Shannon Nikole

Max and Marley! Even their names are perfect together. I did not get a chance to read Finding Starlight before I read this book, but it wasn’t exactly necessary. Best believe, I will be reading book #1 next. This book has it all, revenge, hot one night stands, surprise pregnancy, second chance. Throw in some criminal mysteries and there you have it. A trope for everyone! I can’t wait for the next book to come!

Things are Shaking (Invisible Magic Wand Series) by Lois Wickstrom – Review by Monique Espitia

Growing up in California, it feels like earthquake preparedness should be the “norm.” However, each and every time I experience a quake, I am always shocked. Always preparing for the “big one.” So I was really happy to find this book to help me explain all of this with my own kids. I know they teach some things in class, however, having two small kids with anxiety meant I would have to address it in a different way. Things are Shaking was the answer to this very problem! I highly recommend reading it to your kids to talk about scary things such as earthquakes.

The Taste of Light (The Winemakers Book 2) by Giovanna Siniscalchi – Review by Monique Espitia

The Taste of Light (The Winemakers, #2)The Taste of Light by Giovanna Siniscalchi
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I must be honest, I did not read the first book in this series. But trust me, I’m going back and reading it just so I can read “The Taste of Light” all over again!

Pedro is the classic dark, brooding, broken, antihero in the beginning of the story. You don’t know whether or not he will have the ability to get his stuff together. It’s pretty marginal. Anne, on the other hand, is everything light! Pedro spends a considerable amount of time trying to convince her that he is unredeemable. This leads to the most tender, heartbreaking, curse shouting, lovers angst you could imagine! As the reader, I couldn’t decide if I wanted Anne to kiss that man senseless or smother him in his sleep! Sometimes both at the same time, (but in which order???)

The story is amazing and the magnetism the two have is otherworldly. (insert swoon here) Happy Reading! Expect to stay up all night!

My Pearl Heart by J.N. Sheats – Review by Monique Espitia

My Pearl HeartMy Pearl Heart by J.N. Sheats
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This book has several popular tropes rolled into one. Enemies to lovers, second chances, to name a few. Lots of interesting twists and turns and you realize all is not what it seems as you follow Jasmine’s story. She is a hard worker who is giving her business everything she has. There is not time for her own happiness, as her company demands so much from her physically and mentally. Que her “best friend/business partner” who you just can’t help but dislike. She is inconsiderate to Jasmine’s feelings and all about herself. So when Jasmine realizes that the only man to spark a fire inside of her, a complete stranger at the time, is engaged to her bff she is stunned. Then she gets the “honor” of organizing both the engagement party and wedding! Sheesh! Jasmine can’t catch a break, yet, she doesn’t really put her foot down either. What is a girl to do? Read the story and find out more!
