Death & Mirrors (All Things Dark & Deadly Book 1) by SF Benson – Review by Yellowtulips11

Death & Mirrors: All Things Dark & Deadly, Book OneDeath & Mirrors: All Things Dark & Deadly, Book One by S.F. Benson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I really enjoyed this first book in the series. Evaline is an intriguing protagonist who is witty and smart. You are immediately captivated in the story. The wheels in her head are always turning as she notices every small nuisance. I can definitely relate to that myself! The life of an overthinker!

The book follows Evaline, as she is lost in a parallel world that is dark and dangerous. She is not one to give up and meets some very interesting characters along the way. I really look forward to seeing what Book 2 has in store!

Taylor’s Law by Jennifer Raines – Review by YellowTulips11

Taylor's LawTaylor’s Law by Jennifer Raines
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I was immediately intrigued by the synopsis of this book and I was not disappointed either. The story of Ella, Jake and Tessa is captivating. I admire Ella and her tenacity, dedication, and loyalty to her sister and niece. She is willing to do whatever it takes, no matter how many hurdles she must jump, in order to fulfill her sister’s last wishes.

Jake, also displayed strong dedication and loyalty to his family ties and ensuring his relatives were not being taken advantage of. As the two face each other in the legal battlefields, they also cannot dismiss the growing attraction between them. The emotions and feelings they possess are conflicting, to say the least. Twists and turns are around every corner, and Ella and Jake are lost in the maze of lies while seeking the truth.

The Second Alpha Heir by C.L. Ledford – Review by YellowTulips11

The Second Alpha HeirThe Second Alpha Heir by C.L. Ledford
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I have been eyeballing this book for awhile as I saw it popping up all over my recommendations. I finally was intrigued enough to fall back down into the werewolf alpha rabbit hole. It’s very easy for me to get sucked into the werewolf genre and I have to force myself to take a break and move on to a new genre. However, this story just sucked me back in and I think this binge is going to be a long one!

What’s not to love about this plot line? A bullied second son, deemed nerdy and insignificant to his pack. Suddenly thrust into a position of power and the great responsibility that comes with it (Yes, I channeled my inner Spider Man spirit for that, thank you Uncle Ben!). Nolen, said second son, is sent away to train while learning how to fulfill his new role. He is determined to gain the respect of his pack and be the protector and provider he knows he can be. His journey along the way brings new people into his life and a new perspective. Of course, old enemies arise and Nolen is forced to put his words into actions. It’s a great journey to follow. I won’t spoil it all but I will tell you, read it now! You won’t regret it!
