Moonlit Whisper (An Irish Romance ) (Moonlit Destination Series) by Amy McKinley – Review by Stephanie Nicole

If you love Amy McKinley as much as I do then I highly recommend not only her Moonlit Destination series but I highly recommend her novel Moonlit Whisper. This wonderful contemporary romance novel has everything that a romance reader like myself needs, including fantastic characters, drama, romance, and more. While Moonlit Whisper is one of Ms. McKinley’s shorter novels I promise you won’t want to put it down. Like most of her work the writing is smooth, the storyline flows beautifully, and while it’s a quick story the way that Ms. McKinley captures the readers attention and draws them into the story is unlike any other.

I really enjoyed this book. I thought the story was the perfect length to introduce us to Fiona and Connor. This story is the perfect example of the one that got away but came back for that second chance at love! Amy did it again with a sweet 5-star contemporary read that kept my attention throughout and I can only hope she will write about these 2 characters again in the future!
Fio is asked to tutor a 4th-year transfer football student by her father, the coach. Little did she realize it was Connor, who left and went across the pond to pursue his soccer career and left her behind. Life went on after Connor left, but when he returns Fiona has choices to make about the one she loves.

An enjoyable quick read

This book was a super quick book. But it was a delightful read. Fiona, Lachlan, and Connor. Who does she choose? The Boy who left and is now back? Or the boy who stayed and was there when she needed someone the most? Though it was a quick book it still packed a bit of a punch. I quite enjoyed this book.

Amy McKinley has written yet another great one, may have been a little short novella but great. Fiona is dating Lach one of the best players on her father’s football team and has been for awhile now. Does she truly love him, she thought she did. Until her best friend and ex boyfriend who moved to the states to help his mother after his father was unfaithful returns to play for her father again. She soon realizes who she was truly in love with but will everything work out in their favor. Will Fiona stay with Lach or will she be with Connor again?

Moonlit Whisper (An Irish Romance)Moonlit Whisper by Amy McKinley

This was a quick read. The main characters of Fiona, Connor and Lach are pretty realistic. The 3 grew up together and then Connor moved to America with his mom to escape an abusive dad. But now, he’s back and wants Fiona back. A lot has changed and now Lach is engaged to Fiona. There are nasty little cleat-chasers like Britney causing issues. Will Fiona and Connor be able to rekindle their childhood love? The fairies think they might. It’s a fun and quick read. Amy McKinley doesn’t disappoint. You’ll like this book.

This novella packed a lot of feelings in it! Moonlit Whisper follows Fiona and her being caught between the man that was there when she was at her lowest and the love of her life that left.

What happens when Connor comes back and stirs up all those feelings that never truly left, that are just buried? Will the jealously between all parties break apart everyrhing?

This was a super quick read, but I loved the writing and how complete the story felt for a novella. Nicely done!

This is the story of Fiona and Connor, Fiona is A girl who loves football and is dating her best friend and player on the football squad Lachlan, he asks her to go for a coffee, but she can’t because she has to meet her dad and find out about the new transfer student she will be helping with their assignments. Next, Fiona is in the library with the transfer student and it is none other than the boy next door who left six years ago, she is still annoyed by that and is trying to understand why he did it, but she is also trying not to notice how much more handsome he has become over the years. It turns out that he left to support his mum and to escape from his dad, Fiona knows what that past entailed and how he used to come to and stay with her every night, but she still finds it hard to accept.

The next day Connor goes to a rocky cliff where people go to jump into the sea and hangout together, but what he doesn’t expect to see is Lachlan and Fiona there together, he likes it even less when he throws her off the cliff when he sees Connor, as Connor dives off and finds Fiona, she explains her and Lachlans engagement, this is where Connor becomes more determined to set the wrongs right and get Fiona back, but will he succeed, or will the past be something they can’t overcome? This is a short story which will suck you in and keep you guessing until the end.
