This book was an emotional Rollercoaster that keeps you turning the page. Parker has emotional trauma from childhood that influences the choices he is making now. Realizing he isn’t in a good place after hitting rock bottom, will Parker be able to process and cope with his past before he loses everything that matters to him?

Whiskey Throttle was my first book I read by this author and I was really surprised. I loved her writing style. This book was definitely a page turner for me. The author had my attention through the whole story. The detailing was good. The world building and character was well thought of.

3.5/5 Stars This book is an engaging tale of romance and adventure that keeps you turning pages. The characters are richly developed, and the plot is compelling, making it hard to put down. However, the language and certain triggers caught me off guard at times, which may not be for everyone. Despite these moments, the book’s emotional depth and thrilling storyline make it a solid read. A great pick for those who enjoy a mix of excitement and heartfelt moments.

Whiskey throttle is the final book in the Moto X Series. We finally get Parker’s story! Megan and Parker have been together for a few years now. Parker has tried changing his life for Megan and their daughter, Lindsey. But things haven’t been great between them and he just doesn’t see her and her needs. When Megan takes Lindsey to stay with her parents, Parker tumbles down to rock bottom. Ordered into AA after a drunken arrest, will he be able to accept the help of his new sponsor? Will he be able take responsibility for his actions and look toward the future? I enjoyed Parker’s story; his fall, his despair, his courage, and his eventual healing. The story flowed well for me and made this a quick read even with the heavy topic. I thought it portrayed how much you need a support system and a focus on mental health too. I think you’ll enjoy reading Parker’s story!
I highly recommend reading this series in order. So many story lines are mentioned in this book and I think it could confuse someone who hasn’t had the background of the first few books.

This is the first book I have read from this author and in the series. I read it as a standalone. It captivated me from the beginning until the end. I’m eager to go back to the beginning of the series and start reading. Very good book!

This is the sixth book in this series and can be read as a standalone, but it is my suggestion to start from the beginning. This is Parker’s story and a very emotional one at that. This book had me hooked from the beginning and kept me turning pages throughout the entire book. This story dealt with addiction and consequences that come from not getting help. Parker and his sister had a traumatic upbringing that Parker hasn’t really dealt with. This story takes us on a rollercoaster of emotions as Parker tries not to lose everything and navigate how to deal with his past. I can’t say enough good things about this book. I have read other books by this author and I’m never disappointed. This is a must read that you won’t be able to put down and it will definitely make you want to read the entire series if you haven’t already. I highly recommend this book.

Parker has it all.. or so it seems. He’s a well known motocross rider, he has Megan and their daughter.. but it’s not enough to silence the demons of the past that weigh down on him. When the weight of the past is too heavy, Parker turns to drinking to escape. As the drinking gets worse he pushes those that mean the most to him away and he hits rock bottom and he can lose it all. Can he win his family back and prove he can be the man his daughter needs? This is a beautiful story of fight PTSD, personal growth, and most of all love. I had not read any other stories in this series and I followed along with no issues! It was an emotional story that I would read again and again.

It has been awhile since I picked up a book from this author, but again, she does not disappoint! This is a very emotional book about the heartbreaking journey Parker goes on to find himself after hitting rock bottom and needing to find his way again. This story is an extremely worthwhile read, but will hit pretty hard in some points as the author doesn’t shy away from the darker parts of addiction and despair. You really feel for Parker and the heartache he feels losing his family, but you definitely see why Megan had to take Lindsey and remove them from his self-destruction. The author keeps you engaged with every page and this was a book I couldn’t put down. I plan to go check out the rest of the series and see how things turn out for other characters as well.

Having read and enjoyed the previous books in this series, I had been introduced to Parker Bartin before and I was looking forward to ‘his’ story. To the outside world Parker has a perfect life, fame, fortune and a family. However, his life is far from perfect, his party boy days might be behind him, but the traumas from his past still haunt him. Parker is about to loose it all and must decide between the whiskey bottle or ask for help. This was a heartwarming and at times heartbreaking story which had me captivated throughout. As usual the author does a great job of making both the setting and characters come to life through the descriptive narrative. An enjoyable and engaging read, and I look forward to the next book in this series.

What I love most about this book is that the perspective of what is going on in this particular character’s life is from Parker’s point of view. There is no other point of view involved like these type of books usually are. It does show that not only women go through difficult situations and struggles, it’s also men. Parker does show a lot of character development especially showing the reader how he was (his past) compared to how he is at the end of the novel. The minor characters show a lot of support towards Parker to show that he’s not alone.

I thought this would just be a romance but it’s also about trauma, hitting rock bottom, healing, and redemption. It was a really good story, I enjoyed the descriptions of the characters and the setting. I know it’s part of a series but you don’t need to read the previous books to get what’s happening. The author describes what happened in the previous books with the characters each one was about. I do recommend reading the triggers before starting the book as it talks about addiction, abuse, and some other topics some might not like reading about.

Parker Bartin was at the top of his game partying like there was no tomorrow and women at every turn, that is until he met Megan. With Megan he found someone he connected with and created a beautiful little girl. He went from party boy to khaki dad in an instant, but he was still feeling empty and distant. Parker finds himself at a crossroads which could lead to having it all or destroying it all and Parker will have to look inside himself to see which path he really wants.
I felt for Parker, there is a lot of his history that haunts him and even though he is trying to be the best he can be for Megan and his daughter he is failing in a way he doesn’t quite understand. I thought there was a rawness to this story that kept me wanting to find out what would happen next for Parker. An emotional rollercoaster of a story.

Whiskey Throttle (Moto X Series Book 6) by Brooke May is a great contemporary Romance series
Parker Bartin appears to be a man who has it all to anyone who looks at him. The family, the wealth, and the celebrity to round out his universe. However, Parker’s life is not at all ideal. He’s gone absolutely insane, just as lost as his sister Paige, from when he was a party animal, drowning himself to cope with the tragedies of his past in a very different way. Parker ignores what is going on in front of him as he tries and fails to be what he believes he needs to be. He is in danger of losing everything, including his lucrative work, his freedom to pursue his interests, and his partner with whom he spends every evening.
Every page was exciting and I couldn’t wait to see what would happen. The story really brings us into their world. I couldn’t put the book down.

This is book six in The Moto X series, although I would bet it is best to read them in order, and If they are all this good then you definitely should. I did read this as a standalone and did fine. Yet I will be reading the others because I liked it so much. This is Parker’s story, whom you will find to be a complex dark kinda guy, yet very intriguing. It is a very thought-provoking story so full of emotion (maybe some triggers) as Parker rises up from rock bottom. A very well written contemporary romance with motorcross, fast paced, great characters, heartache, drama and second chances. Definitely grab this book. You won’t be disappointed.

He has been living like a rock star if you will. All of the partying has been his way of coping with his PTSD and it hasn’t worked. Even though he thought he was doing everything in his power to be a good partner to Megan and a good father to Lindsey, but it wasn’t enough. Megan has had enough. She packs up Lindsey and all of their belongings and leaves. Parker has finally hit rock bottom and decides that he needs to get his life together. If not for himself then for his little family. Will he be able to face his past and work through his trauma? Will he be able to get Megan to come back to him? This book is a bit different than the other work I have read by this author, but it was good. I came into this series halfway through with this book and feel it can be read as a standalone. What a perfect end to this series. I loved that we got to go on this journey with Parker as he tries to figure everything in his life out.
Parker has PTSD from his childhood and has no idea how to get passed it and recover. Paige and others have pushed him towards getting help, but he wasn’t able to make that step until he hit his rock bottom. He does it in true Parker fashion and it is a huge wake up call to him.
While his love life is involved, this book is so much more than a romance. This book is more about healing and recovery which could help someone if they happen to read it.
I have read several books by Ms. May over the years, have enjoyed them all but this one touched me in a way I wasn’t expecting and I love it.

This book gripped me from the Prologue! I don’t think I’ve ever read a book that hooked me that quickly, so I knew I was in for an incredible ride. This is the sixth book in the Moto X series, but I read it as a standalone and think it did well. Of course, I am going to pick up ALL of the previous books now because I need more. A lot more. Our main character Parker is one complex and intriguing guy. The trauma that is haunting him will be dealt with one way or another. Will he be able to confront his demons and come out on the other side for his family, or will the darkness end up taking everything from him? I couldn’t put this book down and read it in one sitting. I highly recommend picking this up if you’re looking for a captivating contemporary romance with a lot of intense emotion!

Whiskey Throttle is the 6th book in the Moto X series, by Brooke May. This is the first book I have read in this series and wish I had started at the beginning as I think it would have made the book more readable for me, I will go back and read the others. I have, however, read books by this author before so knew before I started that it was going to be good. This book follows Parker as he realises that the life he was living wasn’t the life that he wanted and he needs to make some serious changes in order to regain his family before they are lost forever. This book was a real page-turner as I wanted to find out what happened next. Would recommend.

Parker appears to have everything a motocross rider could want to have, women, money, drugs. But it isn’t the party it seems as Parker is hiding his past trauma. When Megan, the FMC, becomes pregnant and delivers a baby girl, Parker starts trying to deal with the past. But will the pressure of fatherhood and unhealed trauma cause Parker to spiral too far out of control or can he pull back before he looses everything and everyone he loves? This was book 6 of this series but you don’t have to read the first 5 to be able to read this. Great story line.

A story about man’s rise out of rock bottom. Whiskey Throttle has a lot going on. The author gives you a story of a man’s struggle and how he loses everything. It’s the growth through the story though that makes it. Nothing short of a good book. I’ve read quite a few books by this author and she’s one of my favorites. An author that no matter what the story is, I will always dive in just from seeing the name. I was skeptical at first when I read the prologue. About what I was actually getting myself into, but I push forward anyway. Heavy topics of abuse are the minor storyline behind Parker’s alcohol abuse. He thought he was doing what he needed to be a good partner and father, but when Megan left him it all fell apart. Her and Lindsey were the light in his life. And now that they are gone he is consumed by darkness. When he ends up with a DUI it’s the final straw that wakes him up. That rock bottom makes him realize he needs to change not only for himself, but if he has any hope of getting his family back. What steps will Parker take to change? Does he succeed and get Megan to come back to him? I can relate to Parker in so many ways. As I’ve hit my own rock bottom, but under different circumstances. But the results are all the same as long as you make an effort to better yourself for you. This book can be one big trigger warning. So be mindful going into it. It’s definitely worth it, just don’t take the story lightly. As it’s one a lot of people can relate with but could also trigger their own ptsd as well.

Whiskey Throttle is Book 6 in the Moto X series…and I love this series and recommend reading from the beginning, but can I say….this story was heart-wrenching and intense…the emotions on this of how I feel…when you have everything right in front of you…until you could lose it all in a flash. This is the story of Parker Bartin….and it was one heck of a ride…
Parker has it all…or so you think. Fast Motocross…fast women….drugs…but being a father was not expected until it happens. Megan and Parker bring a beautiful little girl in the world and all Parker wants to do is be the best father he can be. With past trauma that haunts him….and not dealing with them…things spiral downhill. As this happens, he is on the verge to lose everything including Megan and their daughter. Will Parker be able to over come what haunts him and make way to getting the assistance he needs to be better….
This is a great read….wow…..my heart over this story…..

It has been a while since I have read any of the books in this series and this book did a fantastic job at reminding me just how much I enjoyed it. I instantly connected to this story and loved getting to know the characters. I was drawn to Parker with ease and I wanted to see how things would turn out. The story is an interesting one that develop naturally as it progressed. This author has a writing style that I always enjoy and this book, and series, is a big part of why. I would definitely recommend this book.

Whiskey Throttle is the sixth and final book in the Moto X series by Brooke May. It is a heart-strumming contemporary romance- with motorcross, emotion, broken characters, chemistry, drama, second chances, character growth & development, banter, tension, angst, heartache, and more… Even though this could be read as a standalone, being the sixth and final book in the series, as well as the fact that we have ‘met’ Parker in previous books (he is Paige’s twin brother/Paige (&Axle) got her story in Books #1 – 3) I really recommend reading the whole series so you get the optimum reading experience out of this story, and the series as a whole. Plus, you just might find that one book won’t be enough to satisfy your newly acquired Moto X appetite.
I’m curious to see what Ms. May might have for us next! Happy Reading!

This is a series that I have enjoyed reading from the first book. It is a series that just keeps getting better and better with each book. This is the sixth book which I highly suggest reading the previous books as well as they are just as great. I enjoyed this author and never hesitate to pick up one of her books. I enjoy her ability to pull me into the character’s world with ease and keep me turning pages to the end. This book is no different. It is a well written story about how far you will go to get away from your past traumas. But what will happen when that is what could take everything away? When a choice is to be made, what will Parker decide to do? I enjoyed these characters and what they bring to the story. Parker is my favorite and he is a strong character but like everything else, he has a weakness. What happens with him is something you don’t want to miss. I found this story to be fast paced and hard to put down. There is great growth throughout the story which makes it easy to read as well as entertaining. I really enjoyed this book and I highly recommend it.

Parker was a legend, until he wasn’t. He was once at the top of his game, until he wasn’t. He might look like he was dealing with his past, but he wasn’t. He is a hot mess. In Brooke’s typical way Whiskey Throttle explodes onto the scene. I have fallen in love with the Moto X series. It is full of drama and angst. It is hot, steamy and sexy. The characters are complex bad boys and sassy girls, all love the same thing, fast bikes in the Motorcross world. Characters that make you hope beyond all hope and fall in love with them. Brooke weaves a mean tale on and off the bikes that starts from the word go and nothing is off limits right through out. Even by the time you finish you want more. Definitely a roller-coaster ride of emotions going on in this tale. Can Parker pull himself together? I’m not going to say, that’s for you to find out.

This is the 6th book in the Moto X Series. I do recommend reading these books in order so that you get the complete story and because we are introduced to Parker in the previous books as well.
This is Parker’s story. I’ll be honestly my heart broke reading this. Parker has such a tough start in life which lead to issues with addiction, and partying until he met Megan and had his daughter. He is trying so desperately hard to be the best man and dad he can be, however because he hasn’t worked through the issues from his past, the demons are always holding him back. When Megan leaves him Parker starts to spiral out of control again, doing things he knows he shouldn’t and risking not only his family life but his career and everything his sister and him have created. Parker needs help to handle his demons but until he accepts the help himself no one else can help him. What is it going to take for him to realise he needs help to overcome his past trauma’s and the be the best dad and man he can be? Will he realise too late and lose everything?
Parker is a dark character in the sense that he has a lot of trauma and addictions to work through, however he is also a good man who is trying his hardest to be the best person he can be for the people he loves. That’s why my heart went out to him because he tries so hard but always seems to fall short which people dealing with trauma seem to do. You can’t expect to move forward and be happy if you have demons and trauma from the past to work through.
This story is gripping and thought provoking and in parts heartbreaking as Parker’s emotions and despair fly off the pages. The fight he goes through and his determination to be better is what really endeared him to me. The author did an incredible job at making the reader feel every emotion and struggle that Parker went through.
