Absolutely loved this book! I haven’t read anything by this author before but took a chance on this book even though it was book 6. Definitely a stand alone book and I didn’t feel I had missed any of the plot or didn’t have gaps in the characters. Having said that I am definitely wanting to read the rest of her books!

Loved the character development and the story. Highly recommend this read.

Yes!! What I thought the last installment was missing this one definitely hit the mark! Not only did it have the budding romance, the crazy woman that wants to prove she can do everything a man can, and some are they going to make it, but it also made it so I read the entirety in the course of an afternoon. Loved it! Honestly, this author knows how to draw you in and leave you hanging on every word. Well done!

Ultimately, I am a sucker for romance novels, especially when the woman is a strong fierce female such as the ones found in this series. I do believe that communication is key and within these pages you’ll find that to be true as well.

I found the authors writing style to be quite immersive, enjoyed the plot and the want to stand out amongst those in her field of work. The ending will put a silly smile on your face too, I am sure. Well worth a read!

My Bronc Riding Cowgirl (My Cowboy Series Book 6)

Rodeos are a big deal in some states, even more important than football and this book definitely shows how big it is for the riders.

Cord has the cowboy charm but that charm isn’t always going to get him what he wants. Tori has a secret that could cause issues in the family.

I really enjoyed this book. The moment Cord and Tori meet face to face is one of many that stood out to me. Oh and the animals!

How this series snuck passed me in the past I will not know, but I look forward to getting caught up. Worth every moment of sleep I will be losing.

Part of the My Cowboy Series, this story centers around Hunter and Kennedy. Hunter grew up in a ranchers’ family as well as a legendary bull rider for a father but refuses to settle into the life he’s grown to know and instead pave his own way into playing football. On the other hand, as a young girl, Kennedy loved the game of football and was able to play within a boys league and after some disputes was no longer able to play. As she grew older, she paved her own way onto the platform of sports broadcasting, another predominantly male field. A chance meeting of Hunter and Kennedy will bring out warm feelings but could these feelings lead to harmful consequences.
Brooke May establishes such great characters to dominate her stories who are strong willed, focused, driven and in careers that center back to the cowboy way of life. Getting to know these new characters more in depth and seeing where this story takes us into their experiences makes this story such an enjoyable and quick read.

This story centered around the developing careers and love story of Tori and Cord. Tori, an up and coming bronc rider, following the footsteps of her legenendry father and paving her own way into this competitive and male-dominated scene. Cord, a popular bronc rider traveling across the country to different shows and a popular ladies’ man. Tori is such a determined and focused woman who will not let anything stop her from riding her bronc. But Cord notices her, he is taken aback by her beauty and strong will. Even though she doesn’t give into his charming looks and demeanor, he draws him more into her.
Such a quick, pleasurable read getting to know these characters and being immersed into the world of bronc riding. I truly loved seeing the love connection of a man falling for a strong willed woman. He mentions in his thoughts how her beauty as a tomboy and even dressed without makeup and being who she genuinely is makes it hard for them not to try to pursue her.

This is a great contemporary romance from an author who writes great contemporary romance novels. I have read quite a few of this author’s book now and I have always really enjoyed them and this book was no different.
This is an enemies to lovers book set in the rodeo world in the USA. Our main characters are Tori and Cord, both of whom are the children of famous bronc rider friends. Entering their rookie season, things get a bit hot under the collar as they try to concentrate on the job at hand but can’t help but be distracted by one another.
I really enjoyed Tori and Cord’s story. I love how feisty Tori is and how she isn’t scared to enter a very male dominated world. Cord comes over as a bit cocky and arrogant but it’s all a front as he’s a sweet decent guy at heart.
The author does a great job of keeping the story flowing and keeping you engrossed in the story and want to keep turning the pages to see how Tori and Cord’s story ends.
Definitely recommend.

This one surprised me. I found the description of the horses, rodeo activities and western wear thorough, an important part of the story and impressive. This was my first experience with this series. I enjoyed the story.

Tori is no stranger to the rodeo. She has been helping her parents out with their rodeo camps since she was a little girl. Tori is also a champion barrel racer but that is not what drives her passion. Tori wants to be a saddle bronc rider. It is what makes her happy. Tori has a plan. Her plan starts to take an unwanted curve when her parents allow the #1 saddle bronc rider to use their spare room when he is in town for the rodeo.

Cord is the son of a saddle bronc riding legend. He is the one to watch on the circuit right now. There is nothing that can distract him from his dreams of National championship. That is until he meets Tori. For some reason, Cord just can’t get this woman out of his head. Is it the way she sees right through his charm and public persona? Is the way she doesn’t flirt or fall at his feet like so many of the other girls he meets? Is it because she just became his competition?

As Tori and Cord keep winding up in the same places, a tenuous friendship grows. Cord has protective feelings for Tori, but she quickly proves that she can handle herself with any of the cowboys that bother her. Will they decide to stop fighting the attraction?

Fun, flirty quick read!!

My Bronc Riding Cowgirl (My Cowboy Series Book 6) by Brooke May. I loved this book. Its the 6th installment in the My Cowboy Series Series but can be read as a standalone. This is the story of Tori and Cord who are basically famous in the Rodeo world. Tori’s dad was a famous Bronc Rider and Cord’s dad was a legend as well. Tori has major dreams of her own and she doesn’t plan on letting anything get in the way of those dreams. Cord is so attracted to Tori and she is attracted to him as well but she doesn’t want to risk messing her future up for a cute cowboy. Cord really likes Tori but can’t help being jealous of her and the attention she is getting. He’s supposed to be the best in his field. Will he be able to get over his jealousy to seek a real relationship with Tori or will he let his feelings ruin everything. Read this fun romantic rodeo story to find out!

Ranches, rodeos and romance
I have read several books by this author and each time I have come to love the story. This contemporary western romance is interwoven with drama, unexpected attraction, plenty of angst and lots of bronc riding. Tori and Cord’s relationship was well written and as usual the characterisation was on point. Both are from well respected families within the rodeo scene but Tori, as a female, feels she has so much more at stake. What follows could lead to possible disaster or something more. Highly recommend.

LOvED this one!! I completely connected with the characters and their stories. Their meet cute was quick and set the tone for their future relationship. They did a lot of skirting around each other and it was fun watching their dance. The story is wonderful. It easily drew my interest and kept it. I read this quickly and I could not wait to see how everything was going to play out.

Overall I enjoyed this one. The author did a good job making me feel like I was at the rodeo with the characters. There is a reference in here that I loved as it aptly describes bronc riding.

Watching a horse and rider during a bronc competition is like watching a dance as they move together.

Brooke May’s books are always touch and go for me. Some I love and others I could pass on. This one seems to fall into the last category. There just doesn’t seem to be much to keep my interest. The connection between the two characters takes about thirty percent before they have a meet cute. Then another twenty percent until they are actually in each others orbit. There is a lot of info about his life before and meeting the team and she gives us the backstory on playing FB and how she can’t play now but can still be involved in it. I honestly did a lot of skimming and bypassing their inner thoughts. There is not a lot of conflict just a nice wholesome story.

Tori Foster, the daughter of saddle bronc rider Justin Foster, has one big dream that she has been keeping a secret from her family, including her father. There are only a few friends who know about her big dreams, and plans. Cord King, son of another famous Bronc Rider, but also one of the newest rookies on the rodeo circuit has his eyes on the prize, and wants nothing but to be the best of the best. When Tori decides to debut her bronc riding abilities that she has been practicing in secret, it catches many people off guard, including Cord. Will these two be enemies in and out of the arena? Will they overcome jealousy to help each other out? Will they become a distraction to each other? I was shocked to find that this was the 6th book in this series. I can’t wait to go back and reread the first 5 books, because this book got me hooked!

An enjoyable and engaging contemporary western romance which kept me happily turning the pages. Tori, the daughter of a legendary saddle bronc rider, Justin Foster, has big dreams. Dreams which until now she’s kept to herself, but she’s ready to show what she’s capable of. Cord King is at the top of his game in his rookie season as a saddle bronc rider, and has a lot of both media and female attention. Tori and Cord meet in Elk Field during the annual rodeo, but Tori is unimpressed by Cord, and isn’t going to let him get in the way of reaching her goals. Cord, is used to impressing the women around him, but not Tori, a feisty cowgirl who isn’t afraid to talk back to him.
Once Tori takes to the arena all eyes are on her, fuelling Cord’s jealousy, which if he doesn’t overcome might stop him from seeing how much talent she actually has. Tori has to stay focused and not let Cord be a distraction, as they compete both in and outside of the arena. They both want to win the coveted championship buckle, but will their competitiveness stop any potential relationship from developing. I felt immersed in the world of rodeo’s, saddle bronc riding, and cowboys and cowgirls due to the wonderfully descriptive narrative. The main characters were likeable and relatable and I was cheering them on hoping they would get their HEA, and the buckle!

Hunter doesn’t want to grow up to continue working his family’s ranch. He wants more, much more. He wants to play pro football if he can, but ranching isn’t for him. Kennedy also has a love for football, but as a girl, she learned that she wasn’t welcome in the sports world. But she is determined and though she can’t play, she finds a way into that world but no one can know the truth. Sparks fly between these two and they begin to build a relationship, but is it solid enough to survive the secrets?
This was such a fun read. I really enjoyed this book. You get drawn in and invested in the characters. You worry right along with them. The best books are the one’s that come to life and you feel like they are real people that you know, and not just characters in a story. That is what happens in this book and I am really excited to read the rest of the series.

Tori lives in a world of cowboys, but she is no buckle bunny. She isn’t there to hang on the arms of a bronc rider, she is a bronc rider. Now after practicing in secret, it’s time to let the rest of the world know it. As a woman, it won’t be easy to convince everyone she belongs in the saddle but that is just what she plans to do and she isn’t going to let anything get in the way. Especially not a hunky cowboy with an inflated ego.
I loved this story. I haven’t read many books like this where my love of books and all things horses collide. Even more fitting that I share a name with the main character. I enjoyed seeing Tori show her strength and independence in the cowboy world. It kind of reminds me of Jade in the Canadian t.v. series, “Heartland”. I loved the characters, and I can’t wait to read the rest of the series. If you like horses, cowboys, and independent women, this book is for you!

One thing they for sure have in common, is rodeo! Tori and Cord are seriously so perfect for each other! And tori is such a badass. My Bronc Riding Cowgirl (My Cowboy Series #6) by Brooke May

Another fantastic read by the author. My Bronc Riding Cowgirl is the sixth book in the My Cowboy Series. It’s also the second book in the series that I’ve read. It can be read as a standalone.

Tori is a cowgirl at heart. Nothing is going to change that. That is until someone waltzes into her life. Now she’s got to focus and get back on the horse. The quote I chose for Tori is: “Listen here, buddy. I’m not some eye candy you can say whatever the hell your egotistical a** thinks is charming.” Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have better things to do today than twirl my hair and switch my balance from one foot to another while entertaining you.”

Cord is famous and used to having women throw themselves at him. That is until he meets Tori. Now he’s got to win her over. Can he do it? The quote I chose for Cord is: “Morning. My dad drew me a map otherwise I’d been lost and I doubt I would have made it back to town.”

Highly recommended for Western Romance lovers.

This isn’t the first book I’ve read by the author. This is the first book in the My Cowboy Series that I’ve read. Each can be read as a standalone. She’s No Cowgirl is the fifth book in the My Cowboy Series.

Kennedy wants nothing more than to play football. She isn’t allowed to do so in school, but that doesn’t mean that she’s going to give up. What happens when she meets Hunter? The quote I chose for Kennedy is: “Why would I cut through downtown? I’m going to be leaving here in a couple of minutes.”

Hunter loves playing football. He doesn’t like working on his family ranch, but he does it every summer. This year is going to change everything he’s ever thought. The quote I chose for Hunter is:“I will and you try to not get into too much trouble. I mean it. Some of the stuff you pull can drive Dad crazy. I’d hate to see what happens when he finally does snap.”

Highly recommended for Western Romance lovers.

My Bronc Riding Cowgirl is a contemporary romance story set in the world of the rodeos/circuits and horses where real Cowboys and Cowgirls exist.

Being the daughter of a legend has its pitfalls. She just wants a chance to show her talents to the world she has grown up in. She just has to show she has what it takes to be seen in what has been a male dominated arena. But do read the books in order. Can she show she is more than her father’s legendary ways?

Brooke has given her readers another intriguing and interesting read that is easily read as a standalone as is most of this series. I always enjoy the worlds and characters that she brings to the table and it is the latter that always brings the story to life.

If you love a good romance story with the dangers of a competitive sport then you will like this one.

Tori Foster has dreams she keeps to herself until the time is right to show her talent. Her father Justin Foster is a legendary bronc rider. Cord King is just starting his rookie season and doing quite well. His father is also a legend. Both want to make it out in the bronc world. This may be a man’s sport but can it stop Tori? There is also Cord. Can he coexist with a woman in the field of bronc riding? Better yet can these two get along as well as resist each other? This author has opened a new genre for me. Cowboys and Cowgirls what a great story this was. I love the strong woman Tori portrays. The fast paced story will keep you reading and the next thing you know The End appears. I have read many books from this author and have enjoyed everyone. Now I must go back and read the other books in this series.

Read this if you:
*Like Rodeo’s and romance
*Appreciate an independent, strong willed female protagonist

Meet the Author: Brooke May spends her days writing and her evenings reading while she works alongside her mom. From a young age she has told everyone who would listen what she had thought up. Now a mom of two, she splits her time writing, playing with her kids, and hiking, hunting, fishing, and four wheeling in the Bighorn mountains.

Synopsis: Tori has big dreams! After practicing in secret, she is ready to saddle up and show the world what she is made of. Cord, in his rookie season, is trying to live up to the hype of his father. Both families are well known in the bronc rider community. Will these two young riders keep their head in the game or will thoughts of each other cause the focus to become cloudy?

Reader’s Thoughts: My Bronc Riding Cowgirl is the 6th installment in the My Cowboy Series written by Brooke May. Although this book is part of a series, it can be read as a standalone. This is the first book I have read by May, and I am hooked. It excites me to know that it is the 6th book, meaning I have many more to go back and read! This was a quick afternoon read for me but kept me wanting more. The characters were loveable, and the relationships never felt forced. May put a smirk on my face with the scene on the plane with the matchmaker grandma. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys romance, especially sports romance.

Tori and Cord were great characters, I loved what was between them and the feeling development as well as character development. I did not wish to stop reading, I wanted to know how this story would turn out! Both Tori and Cord were relatable in different ways, and I felt where each was coming from. This book is book 6 of the series. This book can be read as a standalone. It’s the first book I’ve read of the series and I don’t feel like I missed anything.

Cord is a talented bronc rider. It’s his rookie season but he is well on his way to making a name for himself. That would impress most people however, Tori has skills of her own and is determined to share that talent with the world. She has no problem showing everyone what she’s got. So much so that Cord feels pretty jealous watching Tori do her thing and snag the attention. Can these two work or will the jealousy and distraction be too much for them?

I enjoyed this book. It sucked me in and I couldn’t read it fast enough. It’s very well written as well as relatable. The characters work really well together and I enjoyed reading their story.

I love myself a good romance, but I’ve never jumped into the country western rodeo type romance till now. I was not disappointed, I thoroughly enjoyed it. My Bronc Riding Cowgirl was different in a great way! This is not the first book by this author I’ve read, but the first in this series. Now I need to go back and read them all. Don’t get me wrong this works perfectly well as a standalone romance. I just like reading things in succession. But I digress.
Tori and Cord are essentially Rodeo Bronc riding royalty. Both of their father’s were well known throughout the rodeo world. Cord following in his father’s footsteps, a given. The unexpected was that Tori wanted to bring it to the forefront that it’s not just a men’s playing field. Women can do it too. Might also help that she’s always wanted to do it, though women were expected to do the barrel races.
Cord’s dad pretty much told him “don’t let this become bigger than yourself.” He heard the words but did he really digest them? Tori opened his eyes, made him see. She humbled him the minute she put him in his place. He would forever be a goner.
Tori resisted with all her might. But nothing could keep her away from him. But can they coexist in a man’s sport? Can cord accept that women can do it too?
This author writes a story with a lot of substance and a strong female lead. Which I love. This author is becoming a favorite of mine, she doesn’t disappoint!

My Bronc Riding Cowgirl is the sixth book in the My Cowboy series by Brooke May. I have read quite a few of Ms. May’s books now, and as I have mentioned previously, I really love how well developed her characters are and how realistic and believable they seem- and how easily they are able to pull me into their ‘world’ and get me entirely invested in them and the outcome of their story.
This contemporary western romance has drama, chemistry, angst, finding love unexpectedly, emotion- and set amongst the bronc riding circuit. Cord and Tori are wonderful characters and were perfect for each other.
Even though this is the sixth book in the series, it can be read as a standalone. But, having said that though, I recommend getting your hands on the entire series as there is plenty to love about the previous five books- with lots of other characters to get to know.
Looking forward to seeing what comes next!

Thank you, Brooke May!
