very entertaining slow-burn read. The banter between Jill and Milo is Fun. The relationship is both complex and multi-layered. You get back story with Snippets but it’s enough to set the stage with a brilliant story. There’s tension but Milo’s character is complex in the intimacy shared within these pages with Jill and Milo will have you turning the pages as fast as you can to find out what happens next!!!

A seaside town, a local boy named Milo who is recuperating from an accident when he meets Jill, a girl who wants to be an actress visiting with a plan to be in a movie. Their first meeting makes Milo seem grumpy and Jill reacts the same way…but is there more than meets the eye?

It’s more than a decade later and both Milo and Jill end up in the same town where they first met. They both have lingering memories and feelings for each other. However, it seems their animosity from the past is what comes out! Whatever will happen to these two?

I love how the author Sylvia Stewart walks us through the past and the present to create such amazing characters with chemistry. My first time reading a book by this author! I will definitely be checking out her other books.

This was the first one I have read in the Carolina Kisses series but I will have to go back and read the others and other titles by Sylvie Stewart as I thoroughly enjoyed New Jerk in Town! The characters were very well developed and I liked the way Sylvie revealed little bits at a time so that you learnt more about the characters as you went. I stayed up into the night reading this one as I needed to know what happened to Jill and Milo! The alternating points of view and flashbacks added to the reading experience! Highly recommended!

New Jerk in Town: An Enemies-to-Lovers Romantic Comedy (Carolina Kisses Book 2) by Sylvie Stewart

New Jerk in Town is the second book in the Carolina Kisses Series by Sylvie Stewart. This is a Enemies to Lovers romantic comedy. I absolutely loved this book. From the very beginning I was hooked and couldn’t stop reading till I finished. I’m going to be honest at first I thought Milo was an ahole , but the more I read the more I understood him. Then there’s Jill I’m going to be honest and I thought Wow this chick is something else but again more I read my opinion changed. These two clearly have a attraction between them. She blames him for crushing her dreams when they were younger. They banter back and forth and at times my heart ached for them. Milo really isn’t a bad guy. But has he changed? Can these two have a future together? Find out what happens next in this absolute must read. I can’t wait to read more from this Author.

New Jerk in Town (Carolina Kisses, #2) by Sylvie Stewart was a great 5 star read.
This was a great 2nd chance romance.

Jill is back in town after drifting for a couple of months. Since her car has died she has no choice but to stay in town and she ends up getting a job at a local restaurant. What she didn’t anticipate was seeing Milo. She is looking for a place to stay and he happens to be renting a room.

Milo has his niece living with him which can be challenging at times.
When Milo sees Jill he feels like he has seen a ghost, it’s been 12 years since they last saw each other. Milo agrees to help her and things get interesting from there. Being together again helps them deal with things from the past .

Overall this was a great read, I really liked Milo and Jill. All of the secondary characters added a great element to the story. We get to see past and present with these two so that we can get some back history on them. I was pulled in with the authors writing and couldn’t put it down. If you’re looking for a great 2nd chance romance this is the one for you. 1-click and get started today.

New Jerk In Town by Sylvie Stewart was a great read. I love the chemistry between the two main characters Jill and Milo. They had a friendship 12 years ago and haven’t seen each other since that crazy summer. Now when Jills car breaks down as she’s passing thru, the last person she expects to see is Milo. Of course they fight when they first meet but have no choice but to speak to each when they need to. This book takes you on a roller coaster. I like how the author gives the reader the backstory to help us understand why Milo and Jill are the way they are towards each other. I really loved reading this book and have quickly become a fan of this author in the few books I have gotten to read so far!

New Jerk in Town: An Enemies-to-Lovers Romantic Comedy (Carolina Kisses Book 2) by Sylvie Stewart is a light romance with a lovely seaside setting. Milo and Jill first meet as teens when Jill, literally falls on his lap, their short-lived friendship did not end on the best of terms and when Jill finds herself in town again 12 years later Milo is the last person she expects to bump into. Jill is convinced that Milo hasn’t changed, he is still the same jerk he was when he ruined her summer dreams, but desperation puts them back in each other’s vicinity, will she change her mind. This is a funny, light-hearted romance with an interesting cast of characters. I am looking forward to reading Andie’s story in the next book.

New Jerk in Town is the first novel I’ve ready by Sylvie Stewart, but it certainly won’t be the last. I really enjoyed the characters and even though I haven’t yet read Jenna and Sam’s story or Ted and Haley’s story, I really enjoyed the world that Sylvie Stewart built for this series.

Jill and Milo met as teenagers. They slowly became friends through some miracle, but a misunderstanding by Jill caused everything they built that summer to shatter.

Milo always had a chip on his shoulder. One mistake changed everything and seemed to make things in his life much harder. But Jill was a breath of fresh air that summer.

But what happens when Jill finds herself stranded back in the same beach town. Broke and with very little options. What happens when Jill and Milo run into each other again?

I really enjoyed this story. I like that the hero, Milo, had vulnerabilities that most heroes don’t have. I like that Jill, even though independent knew when it was time to go for what she wanted. I look forward to more from Sylvie Stewart!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

New Jerk In Town is the 2nd book in the Carolina Kisses Series. Each book is written as a stand-alone. I had not read the first book in this series and did not feel that I was missing any information from this story. This is a very well written enemies to lovers story that will keep you gripped from the very beginning.
Milo and Jill met as teenagers and their friendship was just blossoming and moving to the romance stage when Milo moved away leaving Jill devastated.
Moving on to the current day and Jill is back in town, broke and with nowhere to live, a far cry from the affluent upbringing of her teens. A chance meeting on her return has Milo offering her a place to live as she’s been staying in a seedy motel in a less than savoury part of town.
I loved Milo and Jill’s characters. Both have very strong personalities and they clash on just about every little detail. The simmering attraction to each other is bubbling under the surface as Jill fights her body’s reaction everytime she’s close to Milo.
This book has a very good, well written storyline centred around Milo’s career in diving and this plays out alongside the romance between the pair. I really liked that this book had a great storyline running through it that kept me entertained and wanting to keep reading to see what happened next and how this story ended.
I recommend this book 100%

New Jerk in Town (Carolina Kisses, #2)New Jerk in Town by Sylvie Stewart
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

New Jerk in Town by Sylvie Stewart is book two of the Carolina Kisses series. This book has a little bit of everything – second chance, enemies to lovers, friends to lovers. It’s definitely a good read.

Milo and Jill haven’t seen each other in 12 years and the last time they saw each other, it wasn’t good. There’s still some resentment even all these years later but now Jill needs somewhere to stay and Milo is stepping up. With them both staying under the same roof, they have the chance to get to know each other all over again because after all, 12 years is a long time. Jill is sure Milo is nothing but a jerk but will their time together prove her wrong?

There was so much tension between these two characters but through the book you could see their feelings toward each other change and progress. You can’t help but become invested in there relationship. I couldn’t wait to see what happened next!

New Jerk in Town is only my second read by Sylvie Stewart and I’m loving her writing style. I have found myself being sucked by how the likable characters and funny dialogue.

Milo and Jill meet when they were teens and their timing wasn’t right. Years later, Jill returned to the same beach town and runs into Milo, he isn’t happy to see her. But the real question is what happens when they were teens?

This story jumps from the past to the present in dual POVs. Milo is a grumpy man who has a good heart and Jill has so much sass it almost too hard to handle. I can’t wait to see who’s up next in Carolina Kisses series.

Bad-tempered, impolite, problematically attractive Milo Papatonis is the king of morons. She usually tries to keep her opinions to herself but Jill has known Milo all her life and he’s done so much to her from a young age to now as adults as roommates. The truth is he’s secretly tempting to Jill but she’s in denial about it LOL.
The situation will be short-lived and platonic as well. As she decides to pack up to leave the town she knows to pursue her dreams, Jill finds that she knows what morons like Milo do and she decides to get out of dodge before she winds up with a broken heart.
By the sounds of it, it seems Jill is willing to be wrong when it comes to falling for a jerk named Milo.
This book was funny, witty, romantic, steamy and had great characters to boot. Pick up this quick read and you will NOT be disappointed!

New Jerk in Town: An Enemies-to-Lovers Romantic Comedy (Carolina Kisses Book 2) by Sylvie Stewart. I think a lot of people can relate to this book. The story of being great friends when you are young and it turning into something more and then not working out. Its the story of Milo Papatonis who is a jerk. He’s self centered, rude, mad all the time and deliciously handsome. Jill has returned home for a holiday and runs into Milo who she has known since she was little and they had a thing but it didn’t work out. Milo had a bad accident and it changed his life and left him mad at the world. When they realize that they still disagree on everything and argue day and night the resentment is left there to simmer. But when Jill needs a place to stay Milo offers his house. The begin to feel the chemistry between them again and wonder if they can get past all the fighting and anger to make it work this time. Will Jill realize her dreams or will Milo break her heart again. Will Milo finally let down the walls he has had up for years? Read New Jerk in Town to find out!

Sylvie Stewart is quickly becoming one of my automatic one-click authors! She has a way of telling a story that pulls you into the world of the characters and holds you hostage until the end (in a good way…I promise).

This book follows the story of Milo and Jill. As teenagers, Milo and Jill became friends and were on the cusp of possibly more when they are torn apart. Twelve years later, back in the same town, they reunite and it is fireworks from the start. There is resentment but the foundation of their budding relationship in the past is still standing and opens the door for their to be more. Each has grown up (and probably have more growing up to do)…but can they make a relationship work after all that time?!? Read and find out.

I am sucker for a friends-to-lovers story…but this goes a step farther by being a friends-to-enemies-to-lovers romance. There is the southern charm that I have come to expect in the Carolina Kisses series…a slow burn romance…and characters with depth. Another great story by an amazing author…can’t wait to see what’s next!

I am a self proclaimed dedicated fan of Sylvie Stewart, I’ve read many of her books and one day plan to read them all. I really enjoyed this one although maybe not my favorite so far.

Not sure why but it took me a bit to get totally wrapped up in the story and that’s unusual. I did love the characters. The back and forth of Milo and Jill was fun to read. I love a good friends to enemies to lovers story which is what kept me in this book. I don’t know why but I didn’t really like the going back in time part. I’m not sure if there was just too much of it or what I had a problem with, I did skim quite a bit of that. I know it was needed but for some reason a lot of it did not interest me. I think it might be because I enjoyed the present day so much that I didn’t like breaking off and going back. I have read Jenna’s Story but I need to go back and read The Nerd Next Door because somehow I missed that one.

I did still 100% love this book. I love this author and will always read whatever she offers. I can’t wait for book 3, Ponch and Andie I have a feeling will be fun to read.

You get such a range of emotions from this book- sappy, sexy, serious- it’s a win all the way around. The story follows Milo and Jill, two people who haven’t seen each other for the last 12 years. Both of these characters were written so perfectly- with flaws and all. If you’ve never read Sylvie Stewart- you NEED to!

New Jerk in Town: An Enemies-to-Lovers Romantic Comedy is the second book in Sylvie Stewart’s Carolina Kisses series. I have read her Carolina Connections series before so it was good to bump into some familiar faces as well. I have always loved spin-offs/series where we meet the old favorites! You can read the story as a standalone but if you love Carolinas and the small towns and feeling good, I suggest that you don’t only read the first of the Carolina Kisses series but also dip into Carolina Connections!
We meet a grumpy Milo who is raising his teenage niece after returning to his home town … he is also trying to figure out what to do with his life and then, suddenly, a blast from the past, Jill, has also returned to the town … it blows one’s mind how their story is filled with misunderstandings and it is going to take quite a bit to sort them out as both of them are stubborn like hell and can argue until the cows come home and then leave again! There are so many other supporting characters that make the story a charm to read and I promise you will not want to put it down until you have come to the end AND you will want to go and check out the other books that are ‘related’ to Milo and Jill’s story so plan some binging time!

Milo is Mr. Grumpy and Jill is a people person, if not a bit of a drama queen. This is definitely a case of opposites attract- with wonderful results. Another great read from Sylvie Stewart- definitely worth the read!

New Jerk in Town: An Enemies-to-Lovers Romantic Comedy by Sylvie Stewart is the second book in the Carolina Kisses series. This can be read as a standalone and completely enjoyed as it is. Milo is a grumpy man trying to raise his teenage niece and figure out what to do since he is back in his hometown. Jill met Milo as a teen during one summer and has returned to town. Will the sparks fly or will they kill each other before that happens? I really enjoyed Milo and Jill’s story and how misunderstandings have a way of continuing to grow over the years. Both of them are stubborn and will argue for what they think is right. I have read other books by this author so I had an idea of what to expect but this did not let me down. I’m a huge Sylvie Stewart fan. All of her books are full of humor and heart. Once I start reading one of her books, I have a difficult time trying to put them down. Plus I’m always a sucker for second chance, enemies to lovers type of books. I absolutely loved reading about Jill and Milo. Jill is one of the spunky and hot heated female characters that really grabs your attention. Milo on the other hand is kind of grump but underneath it all he has the biggest heart of gold. I loved how they navigated through their past to get over their hard feelings but is it enough to give their future a try?

Sylvie Stewart is definitely one of my favorite One-click authors. All of her stories are different and bring a whole lot of heart to the table.

Life has not been great for Milo, after the accident he has been drifting trying to truly live his life. When that sends him back to his childhood home when his father passes away with his niece in toe will a blast from his past offer a future.

Jill has returned to that happy place where she holiday as a child but when a encounter with the last person she wanted to see happens it stirs up emotions which she does not want to understand. As the story develops will Jill and Milo address the feelings they have had all these years but are they willing to give it a go, you will have to read to find out.

Oh my I love this author so much, her characters are always a little be flawed which makes them so relatable and you really want to invest in the relationship you develop while reading the story. I loved the character of Jill a dreamer who just wants to get away and live her life in peace but just when she thinks she has cracked it in walks the sullen grumpy character of Milo. Milo has hidden depths with his different relationship with his niece and friends who have stuck with him.

I loved the story and always love the superb writing of Sylvie as she is truly a great storyteller, the stories make you want to be friends with these wonderful characters and as always can’t wait to read more from this wonderful author. New Jerk in Town (Carolina Kisses, #2)New Jerk in Town by Sylvie Stewart
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This can be read as a standalone story but some of the characters cross over from previous books in Stewart’s ‘Carolina Kisses’ series. In ‘New Jerk in Town’ Jill, the younger sister to Jenna from ‘The Nerd Next Door’ is the focus of the story. Jill is a natural flirt but seeing Milo Papatonis again she’s reminded that he is the king of all jerks. Surly, rude, selfish, and extremely attractive Milo crushed Jills dreams when they were children had now she’s being forced to share a house with him. Thankfully the situation is only for business and is temporary, however that dose not stop Milo’s bad manners effecting Jill or picturing him in the shower, or imagining his smile, no Jill is definitely not going there.
This is a fun sexy, enemies to lovers romance with plenty of comedy thrown in and steamy scenes as neither Milo or Jill can deny their obvious attraction to each other and their chemistry sizzles off the page. I was cheering the main characters on hoping they both got their HEA, and the secondary characters are all intriguing as well and I hope to see them pop up in future books in this series. A great read for some escapism.

New Jerk In Town by Sylvie Stewart a flipping five-star read. This is number two in the Carolina Kisses series, I have read and enjoyed this author before but there was something special about this one, something that just made e smile more than the others. I adored the slow burn romance and the flashbacks made the story for me, they just added this extra layer that helped me get to know and understand Milo and Jill, it gave the story the depth it needed. I loved how it was light but there was an underlying tension that peaked and flowed and just gave it the realness that made you care so deeply for them all. This will have you laughing out loud and holding your heart and hoping it doesn’t break, there is just something about this story and something special about all of the characters, I can easily say that this was my favourite read by this author.

This author has done to yet again. This is another amazing book that I was instantly hooked on as soon as I started reading. I loved Milo and Jill – they have to be two of my favourite characters. The chemistry between them was undeniable, and the arguing just made it more so.
This was such a fun book to read. And although it had all the usual “serious” scenes in it never felt like it took itself “too” seriously. There were plenty of entertaining, light heated parts to the book.

I loved the idea of this book. Two people going at each other like oil and water! I loved their quick witty banter and well actually all interactions. They have an amazing first kiss! What really got me though was that line drive Milo made for her when he backed her against the wall and seared her with his look and lips. Whoa!

There are many cute ideas in here that make it a treasure. The hate-hate relationship. The restaurant….SWiN. I loved the owner and the Bavarian style. I liked that the main character is a diver. That’s different and not highly used. I enjoyed the intricate relationship between Milo and his parents. Well done on weaving that! As well as his friendship with Bran. Lastly but not least are the crossover characters from her other series.

What I didn’t care for were the flashbacks. Some are useful but mostly not. I am NOT a fan of flashbacks at all so I am partially biased here. Sometimes they can be used artfully and smoothly to tell certain aspects or a reason for some problem in the present. Also there seemed to be an large amount thinking in their heads and berating themselves time and again. Too much of that also gets repetitive and old. Just my opinion.

Overall it’s a wonderful story that I enjoyed. I chuckled at their reactions to each other multiple times. Woot woot on the epilogue and the introduction of a certain crossover character the next book(who likes motorcycles and girls) from the Carolina Connections. Looking forward to that!
