I enjoyed this book and found it to be creative, engaging and a page turner. This is a story about two people, Caleb and Kerry, who are trying to start a new life, both have pasts and in need of healing. Did I mention there is a cute, adorable dog who has brought these two together? I enjoyed the characters even with the walls they built up around themselves. They are strong and I felt compassion for them. I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens with them.

Next Door Knight (Man’s Best Friend Book 2) By: Nicole Flockton 5 out of 5 stars
The story Next Door Knight (Man’s Best Friend Book 2) by Nicole Flockton is a wonderful book that I loved reading. It is a story that pulls you in from the very beginning and doesn’t let go until the ending page. It had my emotions going up and down the entire time I was reading. I loved reading about the characters of Kerry Williams and Caleb Bradshaw. Kerry is a young woman who is determined to be independent and in control of her life. She is caring and supportive to those around her. Her life is full right now with volunteering with her therapy dog Willow at the Veteran’s Center, her job, and helping out her injured father. She is someone who guards her heart and doesn’t always trust easily. She then meets Caleb. Caleb is a man who feels guilt and grief. He has experienced loss and still feels the pain. Then he meets Kerry. Kerry can’t seem to walk away from Caleb. Will Caleb allow Kerry and Willow to help him? What does the future hold for Caleb and Kerry? Read this book to find out. I love when an author adds in an animal such as in this story. Reading about Willow warms your heart and had me smiling and laughing. Willow is such an endearing character. I also grew to care about Kerry and Caleb as the story progressed. Their characters are likeable and I found myself wanting them to find happiness. This story has moments that are sad and others that are heartwarming. Don’t miss out on an amazing story with wonderful characters. Highly recommended.

Newly single Kerry Williams is at her wit’s end. She’s juggling her injured father’s care, a new job as the manager of a hip new restaurant and her therapy dog Willow volunteering at the Veteran’s Center — all while struggling to rise above her humiliating heartbreak. When her father’s caretaker fails to show one evening, she’s terrified she’ll lose her job. And then Willow runs away. Panicked, Kerry gives chase and immediately runs smack into a tall, dark and sexy wall of muscle, palming a squirming bundle of fur. Her new hero seems like an answer to her prayers.
The last thing K-9 officer Caleb Bradshaw wants, is to babysit his neighbor’s father and her dog. He’s facing a potential career-ending injury and grieving the death of his working partner, Trigger. Sure he can handle a cranky old man, but the quiet comfort of Willow who follows him around with liquid-eyed sympathy tugs at the heart he’s trying to keep walled-off after his many painful losses.
Kerry knows Willow can ease Caleb’s grief, but he continues to push her away. Even though her life is in shambles and she too should walk, Kerry knows she can’t and won’t. Will Caleb accept her help or will he close himself off completely?
USA Today Bestselling author Nicole Flockton writes sexy contemporary romances, seducing you one kiss at a time as you turn the pages. Nicole likes nothing better than taking characters and creating unique situations where they fight to find their true love.
On her first school report her teacher noted “Nicole likes to tell her own stories”. It wasn’t until after the birth of her first child and after having fun on a romance community forum that she finally decided to take the plunge and write a book.
Leaving her native Australia, Nicole now resides in Houston Tx, and is busy looking after her very own hero – her wonderfully supportive husband, and two fabulous kids. She also enjoys watching sports and, of course, reading.
