A Sweet Christmas: A Sweet Confections Novella by Nicole Richard Review by Mandy Ott

A Sweet ChristmasA Sweet Christmas by Nicole Richard
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the first book by Nicole Richard that I have read so I was unsure what to expect. A Sweet Christmas is a quick, easy read with an understandable story and characters. This book was like a Hallmark Christmas movie! It was spicy and sweet but a little too predictable for my taste, but if you enjoy Christmas romance books, A Sweet Christmas is definitely a good one! Nicole Richard does a great job of developing the characters and the story quickly. I did enjoy the overall style of writing and will look into some of Nicole Richard’s other books.

Around the holidays I definitely start looking for some warm and fuzzy type reads to sink into while cozy in my reading chair. This one definitely fit all that I was looking for. A Christmas movie in written form for sure. Thea and Ben were just what I needed. They each pulled me into their world. I just felt these two characters had a connection that was so easy to feel. This author did a wonderful of fitting these two together and it made for a fun and warm read. It’s well written and paced nicely never feeling rushed or lacking anything. If you need something to sink into while getting cozy one click this wonderful book you definitely won’t regret it. I’m excited to see what else this author has to offer. Five stars and highly recommended!

A Sweet Christmas : A Sweet Confections Novella by Nicole Richard

This is the first book I’ve read by the author. A Sweet Christmas is a great read. It’s a Sweet Confections Novella and I will be on the lookout for more by her.

Thea owns a bakery and sells everything but cupcakes. She does get asked on several occasions, but the answer is always the same. When Ben comes by looking for them he catches her attention. The quote I chose for Thea is: “He’s probably one of those rich and cocky playboys. The type that’ll say all the right things so they can get laid. Maybe he was fishing to see if I had a boyfriend or better yet, maybe he thought I would be easy.”

Ben is falling fast for Thea. He didn’t think things would work out for him, but things are going good so far. He enjoys spending time with her and can’t think of anything else, but being with her. The quote I chose for Ben is: “I’m thinking breakfast for dinner. They make the best pancakes in the entire Pacific Northwest.”

Highly recommended for Contemporary Romance lovers.

When a complete stranger steps into Thea’s bakery she is thrown into a whirlwind romance. Ben is a smooth talking charmer and it makes you wonder if it’s too good to be true. Thea and Ben spend the time around the holidays getting closer and finding that the things that they are looking for could be right in front of them.

I really enjoyed this book. It was a sweet love story (see what I did there), but it also was a refreshing spicy book as well. The characters were relatable and liked and it left me wanting more. I did have questions while reading like wanting to know more about her brother and where that will go. Also, wanting more to the story of her friend Jules and what came of her? Why had she started acting out of character. While I could make my own conclusions, I’m curious to see if there will be more to this or another novella coming! I am left with a little hole of unanswered questions.

Even with the unanswered questions I still highly recommend this book for anyone who would like a moderately steamy Christmas love story. This is a perfect book for you! I kept flipping the pages craving more and think anyone else would be too!

A Sweet Christmas by Nicole Richard is such a fun, sometimes steamy Christmas romance that just makes you feel good. I know that probably sounds silly to some but it’s so true. With wonderful warm hearted, caring characters this story will fill your heart with Christmas cheer and love. Thea and Ben along with some fun family and friends will remind you that if you open your heart truly wonderful things can happen.

A Sweet Christmas: A Sweet Confections Novella by Nicole Richards – Review by Amy Brennan

A Sweet ChristmasA Sweet Christmas by Nicole Richard
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I am the type of girl that will watch, and replay all Hallmark and Netflix Christmas movies, over and over, all year long. I love the tingly feeling I get all over as my body is covered in goosebumps, and my heart goes pitter patter like you wouldn’t believe. For this reason, I love reading romantic Christmas/Holiday based novels too. My family knows to either buy me those, or care packages that make for the ultimate reading experience. This novella ‘A Sweet Christmas’ by Nicole Richard gave me the same feeling deep inside as all those movies do. I couldn’t put it down. Not only did the energy sizzle between Thea and Ben, but the selflessness and love that was emitted by both characters swept me off my feet.

Their relationship was a whirlwind romance, and as with all romances, there are hurdles to overcome as well. The importance of these hurdles is to experience them with your partner and know that they are there for you through thick and thin. These two could overcome any obstacle that is thrown at them, and being that they are both very family oriented, these two are destined for the stars. I was sad when their story came to an end, but it will be on my list of books to read (or reread) moving through the holidays I very much look forward to reading more by Ms. Richard. Highly recommend!

I enjoyed this shorter holiday romance story. This is an author I have enjoyed from the first book I have read of hers. This one is no different. This is a well written story that is written with a lot of holiday spirit and heart. I enjoyed being pulled into the story by the author’s use of details. The characters are not only relatable but brought the story to life on each page. This is a faster paced story that I found to be engaging and just a great story. A holiday story about Thea and Ben’s story. Neither one of them is looking for love. One does not have the best of luck with men and the other feels he has nothing to prove or gain by women. How can one sweet encounter change both of them? What will the holiday fate have in store for them? I really enjoyed their chemistry and their growth throughout the story. This is worth the pick up. I highly recommend this book.

A Sweet Christmas by Nicole Richard is a sweet, light-hearted, and captivating Christmas romance. This is my first read by Ms. Richard, so I really didn’t know what to expect from her work. But my love of Christmas romance ensured that I was soon one-clicking a copy for myself to explore.
I love this time of year when all the great Christmas stories start showing up on my recommended book lists and I can indulge more in this category. But believe me when I say that Christmas stories don’t have to be limited to just the season- they can be enjoyed all year round.
This story was such a fun read. I loved the addition of the bakery and the meet-cute element. Thea and Ben are really wonderfully crafted characters, they were so easy to like and invest in. I was so immersed in the story that time flew past and before I knew it I had reached the end- with a big smile on my face….
This may be my first read from Ms. Richard, but after this, it certainly won’t be my last.

Thank you, Nicole Richard!
