Lake of Flowers (The Lord Hani Mysteries #5) by N.L Holmes

This is another fantastic read by N.L Holmes. The Lord Hani Mysteries is a series I highly recommend. Each book keeps getting better and better.

Hani is once again put in the middle of something that doesn’t involve him. The Queen needs his help, but then he’s put in a dangerous spot. His daughter is also put in the middle of the same mess. The quote I chose Hani is: “I don’t know. There’ll almost certainly be an uprising as soon as the king dies. That may be the moment this whole bizarre experiment falls apart. I can’t imagine there are many real believers. Most people, like our Aha, are committed only to please the king and advance their careers.”

Highly recommended for Historical Mystery lovers.

This is another great read by Holmes. She writes Historical Fiction and knows how to keep the readers coming back. Book Four of the Empire at Twilight Series, but can be read as a standalone.

Tudhaliya is next in line for king, but when his best friend comes into take over things go bad. He doesn’t know what to do. He wants to be King but he also doesn’t want to lose the friendship. The quote I chose for Tudhaliya is: “Why, no. What? How am I part of this picture?”

Highly recommended for Historical lovers.

The North Wind Descends (The Lord Hani Mysteries #4) by N.L Holmes

This is the fourth book in The Lord Hani Mysteries Series. Holmes has done it again. She knows how to capture a reader’s attention. I can’t wait for more of her work.

Lord Hani is conflicted. He wants to protect his family, but he also has a job to do. Things aren’t easy for him and he doesn’t know what to make of it. The King’s attention and the Queen’s new task is taking a lot out of him.

Hani goes to find what is going on when he learns that he may have to do something when he doesn’t want to. The quote I chose for Hani is: ‘All these good people are here to wish me well. They’re probably happier than I am about this.’

Highly recommended for Historical Crime lovers.

Scepter of Flint (The Lord Hani Mysteries #3) by NL Holmes

The third book in The Lord Hani Mysteries Series and NL Holmes is fantastic. Holmes knows how to attract a reader’s attention.

Hani is sent to the capital for something. Things are getting strange within high places. The quote I choose for Hani is: “Will I have the aid of any troops? I can hardly stop a gang of tomb robbers by myself.”

Highly recommended for Historical Crime.

The Queen’s Dog (Empire At Twilight #3) by N.L. Holmes

Another fantastic read by Holmes. Reading this series always leaves me hanging on for more. I absolutely love the historical crimes she writes.

Naheshi is sent to live with the King and Queen. He’s told to spy on someone he holds dear. When something happens things don’t go as planned. The quote I chose for Naheshi is: “My lady, I am grieved to tell you they’re true. But who knows what was in her heart? My lady the queen is high-spirited. I think the discipline of her routine was hard on her. I feel sure she meant no harm.”

Highly recommended for historical crime lovers. This book will keep you attracted from beginning to end.
