Oh the ways to search for a flea. This poor dog. Very good read, kept my kid entertained. Great illustrations and will keep your child engaged for a little while.

No one could see the Flea is an incredibly cute book, but it also teaches a lesson on how we can’t just assume that we know what’s what, in a kid friendly way. Does Shank have a Flea, or doesn’t he? Maybe he’s just itchy. Give this book a read to find out what happens.

No One Could See the Flea by Tricia Gardella. This is such a cute read for kids around 3 to 9 or so. My 6 year old nephew loved it. Its the story of a boy and a dog and when the dog scratches his ear the boy thinks he has fleas. He looks the dog over but can’t find any flea but he still believes he has them. The boy and his friends come up with all kinds of remedies for the fleas and they try them on poor Shank the dog. They have doused this dog in all kinds of potions and nothing works. Its a great lesson of sometimes there is nothing when you think there is. The whole neighborhood came together to try to help Shank the dog even when he didn’t really need their help. Finally giving up they take Shank to the Vet who confirms there is no flea! Such a fun book for all the kids in your life!

My 6 year old grandson read this one with me and we enjoyed the story. Jack was trying to be a good dog owner to shank but, he was a bit over the top when he let his friends in on the action of “finding the flea”. This book shows kids different ways to perhaps solve a problem. Also, teaches good pet ownership. I would recommend this book to other grands and parents alike. I will be looking into this authors other childrens’ books.

This is a cute story about kids who misunderstand something. I read this with my 7 year old and we both enjoyed it. A boy sees his dog scratch himself and instantly think his pup has fleas. Despite not being able to see any fleas, he still thinks he has one. He tries everything he can think of to get rid of the fleas. As friends come along, they also try to help. Did the pup really have fleas? Find out if any of these crazy ways the kids come up with helps the dog stop scratching.

This book was cute. I loved the story and the illustrations. I have a nine year old, but I think that this book can be read by younger kids. This book is about a dog that scratched behind his ear. One by one, the children, starting with the dog’s owner start doing things to help with fleas that they learned from their parents. If they didn’t have an item they just used something else. To say things got a bit crazy is an understatement. Vinegar! Yuck. Poor dog! Lol. Funny and cute. The dog ends up hiding from the kids! Great for first libraries and elementary children. We really enjoyed it and can’t wait to read more!!

5 Stars No One Could See the Flea by Tricia Gardella
No One Could See the Flea is a cute children’s book that children of any age can enjoy. My son is six and got a big kick out of all the kids and their ideas on how to get rid of the Flea they couldn’t see. The illustrations were fun and colorful and helped bring the story to life. We loved how all Jacks friends tried helping with getting rid of the flea. They all worked together to try and help shank. Did he have a flea or just an itch? We highly recommend reading this book and look forward to reading more from this Author.

Sometimes an itch is just an itch. Honestly my favorite book by Tricia Gardella so far. Such a cute little story of relatable everyday kid stuff. All of Jack’s friends work together to help him help his dog Shank. From the different home remedies that each child has heard to their own interpretation of what to do was a fun silly read.

This book is so sweet and the artwork is beautiful. Jack and his friends are so concerned about the flea they think Shank has and try everything they think to get rid of it. Poor Shank, I was getting to the point where I wanted Shank to run away so they wouldn’t test anything else on him. It is a good lesson to take your pet to the vet right away so as not to harm them with at home remedies. Great children’s book, I love this author’s style.

No One Could See the Flea is a funny story of how quickly things can get out of control when kids assume things. While they were all trying to be helpful and solve the problem, they didn’t have the proper knowledge and never got an adult involved to assist. Poor Shank was doused with so many stinky and messy home remedies from all the neighborhood kids. My 8 year old son and I were giggling throughout. The illustrations are adorable and help the story along. That poor dog though!

This was a cute story about a boy and his dog and a lesson in assuming. The dog scratched and his boy automatically assumed he had a flea so he started doing all sorts of things to get it to go away, even though he couldn’t actually find a flea. Eventually after getting all the neighborhood kids involved, the dog has had enough and he hides. The boy finally gives up and takes him to the vet who confirms there was no flea the whole time. Loved the illustrations and think it’s a great read for kids with a great lesson.

No One Could See the Flea Tricia Gardella is an illustrated children’s picturebook with a cute story that my grandchildren thought was fun. The illustrations are bright, colourful, and engaging- which made the ‘adventure’ come to life. What happens when Shank, the dog, gets an itch? We join in as his owner, Jack, tries everything that he, and his friends, can come up with to rid Shank of his fleas. What ensues turns into a bit of a crazy romp… Looking forward to more stories from Tricia Gardella. Highly recommended. Happy Reading!

Poor Shank!! Jack and Shank are out for a walk when Shank gets an itch. Jack thinks what any reasonable pet owner would, and that is that Shank must have a flea. Jack goes through several “home remedies”, some of which are pretty humorous, before deciding to leave this mystery to the hands of the professionals.
Kids will love the humor in this book!! Just make sure they understand good pet ownership and that not all of these recommendations should be tested out. The illustrations are also very well done and give way to more humor in the story. I highly recommend adding this one to your personal library!

No One Could See the Flea has a unique storyline with lots of things for children to examine, learn and wonder about. It is an entertaining and imaginative children’s picture book that brings laughter at the antics and goings on. The illustrations by Michele Katz are fun and engaging and help to bring this adventure tale to life. Looking forward to reading more of Tricia’s work.

This is the really cute story of Shank the dog and Jack (his owner) and possible fleas. I love the illustrations and how colorful and bright they are and how well they follow and go along with the story. I also really love how each concoction is funny and different and how everyone is trying to help Shank with his “flea” and the ending is funny. This is a really cute story to add to your rotation with your kiddos.

Jack was taking his dog Shank for a walk to a friends house when Shank sat down to scratch his ear. Right away Jack thought he might have a flea. Still no one saw a flea so together with his friends, Jack took shank to the vet when they figured, maybe shank just had an itch.

This was such a cute and funny book! I read this with both of my kiddos who are 8 and 12 years old. Although my oldest is a bit out of the targeted audience, she still enjoyed the shenanigans. Our furry friend, Shank, has an itch to scratch, and his owner, Jack, thinks he has fleas. Jack and his friends try a number of solutions, but nothing is working. I thought this was a great book that had us all giggling and highlighting that brainstorming before jumping into action can be beneficial. It’s always great to see friends working together and also learning how to take care of our pets. I highly recommend this for your classroom or home library to share with the young ones in your life!

What a cute story. The dog has an itch and everyone has to solve the problem. My grandson actually sat and read this to me. That’s a win by itself. He laughed at all the solutions they came up with. He’s autistic and felt the vet solution is the one that should have been first. He’s a logic thinker. I loved how it opened up a conversation for us. I loved the colorful illustrations. It’s a neat book that teaches about dogs. A definite must for a kid’s library.

“No One Could See the Flea” is a delightful and humorous tale that teaches children an important lesson about the dangers of assumption. The story is well-written and easy to follow, making it perfect for early readers or for reading aloud to younger children.
The protagonist, Jack, is relatable and likable, and his determination to solve his dog’s supposed flea problem is admirable. The supporting characters, including Jack’s friends, are well-developed and add to the story’s humor and charm.
One of the strengths of this book is its ability to convey complex concepts in a simple and accessible way. The author does an excellent job of illustrating the consequences of making assumptions without evidence. The story also promotes critical thinking and encourages children to question their own beliefs and gather facts before jumping to conclusions.
