I started this book only expecting to read a couple of pages. I finished reading it in one sitting. This book was fast paced and very captivating. I cannot wait to read more in this series! I loved it so much, I want to purchase a physical copy for my “trophy” book shelf. These are books I thoroughly relished after reading the ebook, that I feel like I need a physical copy too. This is the second series I have read by this author, and she never fails to keep me coming back for more. I delight in her writing and stories.

This is an interesting start to the Life is Hell series. Delilah needs a vacation and she goes to Juniper Lake thinking that the small town will be a nice break, little does she know what is in store for her there. This vacation comes with a plethora of paranormal beings and one sexy sheriff. I enjoyed meeting Delilah and being along for the adventure that is her vacation. There is more than one surprise for Delilah in this little town. I loved that Delilah is a strong woman who can stand on her own and is more than ready to fight for what is right. Her story moves at a good pace and is full of engaging characters. The author has created a delightful little town with interesting characters that pull you into their adventures and have you eager to return for more.

I am so happy I picked up this book, once I started reading I couldn’t out it down. This book had me tiring pages like they were on fire. It had everything I love reading, demon, paranormal, supernatural, suspense, drama, summing’s, love, I could go on. Deliah is an amazing character; she sold her soul almost 200 years ago and is taking some sweet revenge on all cheating husbands. Owning a bar and living in the city thou she rents out a cabin on the lake to take sometime away from it all, but boy did she have that wrong, take a trip with Deliah no nonsense attitude and find out why the things that were happening well were happening. This book was incredible, and I really enjoyed every word of it.

This author is one that I never hesitate to pick up! Every single time I read one of their books, I am always blown away. I was beyond excited to start this series and after I’ve finished this book, I am running to pick up the next! Delilah has no time for anyone’s drama and has the feel of ‘take me as I am’ which I LOVED. Malakhi is the sheriff and may have some chemistry pop on the pages with Delilah. Both of them felt incredibly relatable, and the flow of the story is marvelous! This was such an entertaining experience as I was completely immersed in this world once I began reading. If you’re looking for an action-packed, polyamorous, LGBTQ paranormal romance, this has to be your next book! I’ll give you a tip – clear your afternoon because once you start this book, there’s no putting it down. I highly recommend picking up this one as I’m running to buy the second in the series!

No Rest for the Wicked (Life is Hell Series) by Naomi Valkyrie . This book was an amazing start to this series! I love this author so I wasn’t surprised but wow. Its the story of Delilah who is a demon who gets revenge on cheaters. She is burned out and needs a change of pace so she heads to Juniper Lake where she thinks it will be quiet and calm, of course that is not what she finds. The sheriff Malakahi has been sheriff in Juniper Lake for a few years now and he is so tried of trying to hide the fact that he is not human. Delilah keeps getting the sense of a spell coming on and somehow gets bonded to a trio of witches. She also keeps getting a pull toward the sheriff and she knows that won’t work out. Will Malakahi find out that Delilah is a demon before she can get done what she needs to? Seems like the sheriff is everywhere Delilah shows up. She also has the witches to deal with. She came here wanting a break and she is not getting that at all. Such a fun, fast paced paranormal romance.

No Rest for the Wicked is Book One in the Life is Hell Series. It is a polyamorous paranormal romance with action, drama, suspense, mystery, danger, passion, magic, demons, demon hunters, witches, and shifters. The story centers around the MC Delilah, a demon who has been hunting adulterers for as long as she can remember. She used to enjoy it but now she finds herself bored and in need of a break. Delilah decides she needs a holiday, so she drives until she finds a quaint little town called Juniper Lake. She figures this is just the quiet little place where she can relax and recharge but instead finds herself wrapped up in a mystery that will put her to the ultimate test. This was a fast-paced and intriguing read full of twists and turns that kept me hooked until the very end. This is one of my favorite authors because of her unique writing style and way of weaving a story that never fails to deliver. She always has interesting characters that fascinate me with their quirks and multi faceted personalities. Delilah is yet another of those characters that I loved because of her feisty attitude, strength, determination, and witty sense of humor. Oh, and let’s not forget the amazing cover on this book, wow! Anxious to read the next book in this series!

Burn out in need of a vacation turns into a messy mystery. Truly one of my all-time favorite authors I take every chance I am given to read one of Naomi Valkyrie’s books and they never disappoint. Book one of the Life is Hell series gives us a bang of an introduction to this tiny world with big secrets hiding in the shadows. Dual perspectives of Delilah and Malakhi this book takes you on a mystery from two different sides. Delilah is essentially a vengeance demon that gets revenge on cheating partners. Two hundred years ago that’s what she sold her soul to do for herself when her boyfriend cheated on her. Life in the big city has become too much and she is in dire need of a vacation and after three days of driving she finds a tiny town in the middle of nowhere, Juniper Lake. Sheriff Malakhi has been in Juniper Lake for five years, and after pretending to be human for so long he has forgotten how to research the paranormal way. Summoning circles, a murdered demon hunter and the intriguing Delilah have his head spinning on how they are all connected. Mortified with herself that she fell for a trap Delilah has no choice but to follow the orders the trio of witches give her, no matter how much she doesn’t want to. No rest for the wicked irks her as during the day she tries to find ways to free herself of their binding and reclaim her freedom from them. Thanks to an old journal she discovers that the unassuming little town has a history with demons but how and why. Can Delilah free herself before Malakhi figures out who she is? Will she give into her attraction to Malakhi? What life could she have in Juniper Lake if she gave in to the urge to move there? The author never skimps on the details and this book is no different. Instantly sucked into the world as you devour the pages in search of answers with Delilah and Malakhi. Both intriguing characters as they have lived far longer than they look and after such mundane lives they have a spark of interest and curiosity in each other that despite trying to fight it sometimes they can’t help but be drawn to each other. I am trapped in this world but it’s in a good way. Can’t wait to jump into book two in the Life is Hell series, Hell Hath No Fury, and learn more about Sheridan. Delilah’s friend that looks after the bar during her vacation. I’ll see you there.

This is the first book in Valkyrie’s Life is Hell series and it is superb! I was hooked from the first page and I literally could not put it down. I finished this book in a day…maybe a day and a half because ya know…responsibilities and all. I fell in love with all of the characters in this book and just how they interacted with each other and evolved was *chef’s kiss*. The plot of No Rest for the Wicked is original and very well-done and so seamless. This is a very fast-paced book that you are going to have a very hard time putting down once you pick it up so go ahead and cancel your plans for the day or night…whatever. I cannot wait for this series to continue and see what Valkyrie has in store for the other characters! Reviewed by @meggs1717 View all my reviews

It is always nice to find new series. I have read a couple of books from this author and I was not disappointed. The series is unique and I found it to be a breath of fresh air. The author brings the characters to life. I really found myself unable to put this book down once I started. The book is very balanced and has just the right amount of drama and adventure. I really love paranormal books and this really will make it to my top ten. I cannot wait for the next book to see how the series progresses.

No Rest for the Wicked is the first book in the Life is Hell series. I’ve been enjoying a lot of books by this author recently, including the House Valdis series, so knew I was in for a treat with this one! I love how she brings together unique fantasy elements and a variety of LGBTQ+ relationships.
In No Rest for the Wicked, we discover the small town of Juniper Lake through the eyes of burnt out demon Delilah. She’s in need of a break and, as the title suggests, the universe has other plans for her! This book does a good job of establishing the characters and giving the town history and depth.
I particularly like some of the supporting characters, including Jezebel and Millicent. I need to read more of the series now to get to spend some more time with these characters!
This book gets five stars from me. I’d recommend the series to readers who are already fans of the author’s work, and those who enjoy varied LGBTQ+ paranormal romances.

No Rest for the Wicked is the first book of the Life is Hell Series. I am so happy to have found this author Naomi Valkyrie. I first had read her House Valdis Series( if you haven’t read it I highly suggest you read it. It’s really good!). This story is a fast- paced read with MMF a trope. I made quick work of this. That’s how good it was 😀. After killing cheating husbands for about 200 years, Delilah takes a much needed break in a small town, Or so she thought lmao cause what she thought was a small town turned out to be filled with paranormal beings . I loved Delilah. She was a kickbutt , smart, strong main female character. I can not wait to read the next four books. I really enjoy reading books published by this author. I can’t wait to read more. I highly recommend reading this and the others 🥰 Also I love to cover its super cute!!!!!!

This is the second series I have started by Naomi Valkyrie. I love her writing style. Her booms are short but are great stories. No Rest For the Wicked follows Delilah, a demon who sold her soul as a human. She is looking for peace and normalcy and not just hurting and killing when she leaves the city for a small town called Juniper Lake. She may have thought a small town would fill what she was looking for but she finds more than she bargained for.
It is a fast read but worth it. I recommend checking out Naomi Valkyrie’s books. You won’t be disappointed.

Delilah is a demon who lives in the city and owns a bar. She also is a killer but a killer with morals. She hunts bad people. Even demons need a break sometime. To get away from it all, Delilah goes to the small town of Juniper lake and rents a cabin. She longs for a mundane vacation.
Unfortunately, life has other plans. After a couple nights of feeling the tug of a summoning spell, Delilah decides to find out who keeps trying to summon her and unexpectedly gets bound to a trio of witches. Her vacation quickly gets turned to work when she is given a list of tasks to do. It also doesn’t help that Delilah seems to be drawn to the towns sheriff, Malakahi. No way could their relationship work… right?
Delilah has to try to break the bonds if she wants to go back to her vacation time but it may be harder than it looks. Especially when Malakahi seems to be everywhere.
I loved the premise of a demon wanting to settle down, it gives them a bit of humanity. Delilah may be a demon but she still seemed like a caring and sassy sweetheart. I really enjoyed her character.
Naomi Valkyrie is such an amazing writer. I literally have added most of their books to my to be read list. They have such a unique and vivid way of writing. It’s never a dull moment no matter which of their books you read. Can’t wait to read the second book of this series!

This short read is full of all sorts of paranormal activities. From the beginning you meet Delilah a Demon who is unsatisfied in her endeavors or rather bored. She sets off on an adventure that leads her to small town USA for a much needed vacation. Things take a fast turn for this sassy demon. This is a dual POV and it definitely is a fun little read. There might be some TWs to some but nothing extreme, and doesn’t affect the books impact in any way. 4 stars.

I swear Naomi can do no wrong! I absolutely loved this story. Delilah is a Demon with morals. Malakhi is mysterious. There is attraction between the two. There are a few twists in this story and a few things that caught me off guard. Definitely a great read for those into the supernatural. What I like most about all of Naomi’s stories is that everyone gets represented.

Delilah is a weary demon seeking solace in the quaint town of Juniper Lake. Hoping for a break from her monotonous existence, Delilah instead finds herself entangled in a centuries-old history involving witches, demon hunters, and her own kind. As she navigates the town’s secrets, she discovers that even the Sheriff isn’t as he appears. The characters, each with their own quirks and complexities, leaves readers anticipating what lies ahead in this series.

This is the first book of the Life is Hell Series. What a ride! This book is a short, fast-paced book that has a bunch of characters that you learn a lot about in a short amount of time. The author takes each character and goes in depth so you get a good feel for each of them. My hope is that in the other 4 books, she will expand on each character. Delilah is a demon trying to go on vacation to rest and see what a semi normal life would be like. She picks a small little town and rents a cabin by the lake. There is a nosey sheriff, a diner and other things you would find in a small town, but it also has demons, demon hunters, witches, and other creatures that you will just have to read to find out about. Oh, and the cover is wicked good! Do yourself a favor and read this book! #lifeishellseries #norestforthewicked #NaomiValkyrie

Another great book by Naomi Valkyrie. Even demons need a vacation! Delilah sold her soul to get revenge on an ex and now she’s a demon who kills cheaters. Normally she enjoys her job but lately she’s just not feeling it. Even demons need a vacation! Right? So she takes off with no destination in mind to find some peace and quiet. Just when she thinks she has found it, fate has other plans. This book has demons, shifters, witches, a little romance and more. I really enjoyed Delilah’s character. Her whole I kill people but I still like to curl up with a good book is so my kind of attitude. And her need for some peace! I recommend you pick up this quick read.

I’m Delilah Hawthorne, vengeance demon, tired of killing, and in dire need of a vacation.
I thought I’d found peace in the tiny town of Juniper Lake, but apparently fate has other plans.
Between three conniving witches hellbent on murder, and a hot, but nosy sheriff who needs to mind his own business, it looks like the old saying is true – there really is no rest for the wicked.
Naomi Valkyrie, often called a Firebrand Provocateur, brings her unique Autistic perspectives and curiosities to life by weaving tales of deep connection, mystery, and romance. She is inspired by being able to spontaneously create a thought that takes on a life of its own, opening up new adventures for her readers.
The Paranormal Romance and Urban Fantasy realms are particular areas of interest for Naomi as they allow for the vast exploration of magic, adventure, and the impossible while creating diverse characters that her readers connect with on an emotional level.
When she isn’t attending to familial connections, Naomi loves a dark, comfy reading space surrounded by the symbolism of her spiritual archetypes and her daemon/familiars, while she sips her tea and immerses herself in imagination.

Delilah is a demon, running a bar and hunting at night. Life in the city gets too much for her so she decides to book a cabin in the woods and treat herself to a vacation. That is until three witches summon her to do their bidding to avenge their long gone ancestors. Then on top of that there’s a handsome Sheriff in the mix who also happens to be in a poly amorous relationship with a Nix. This novel was fun and whimsical, Delilah is kick ass and funny and easily likable. I really enjoyed this book and found it easy to follow. I would definitely read more in the series.

Arriving in the small and peaceful looking town of Juniper Lake she rents a cabin and prepares for a restful vacation but unfortunately fate has other ideas. Delilah not only has a nosy sheriff to deal with but also three conniving witches who are set on murder, so it’s just as well that the Sheriff is rather sexy. Delilah soon realises that here really is no rest for the wicked! This fun and action packed story had me gripped from start to finish. The authors wonderful world building and descriptive narrative really bought both the characters and the setting to life and made me feel immersed in the story. The characters all add a different element to the story and I especially loved the main character, Delilah and her witty comments. I found this an entertaining and engaging read and look forward to the rest of the ‘Life is Hell’ series.

This book was not what I expected. It was so much better! I really enjoyed the fast pace of the story and the intriguing characters. There is so much going on and so so many secrets. I enjoyed it all!
Delilah is not what I expected. I was expecting a sex addict, cruel demon. But surprisingly she is nice and just tired and wants a break from life. She has all kinds of cool powers and abilities. The other characters in here are all full of surprises.
Again I am thrilled at how enjoyable this story is. The smooth writing and the fast pace was wonderful. I can see why this has a lot of five star reviews. I look forward to the next one

This book had me laughing and feeling bad for the characters. Delilah is someone you should not mess with. She will always get her way in the end. For a demon she was very human. I loved that I could relate to her and everything she does is on her terms. She knows she’s a demon but tries to do some good in her situation. I wish I got more background to Caspian. These the only characters that was just there. Yes he tried to help his friend but I had more questions than answered. I can’t wait to read more!

I loved reading this book, No Rest for the Wicked (Life Is Hell Book 1) by Naomi Valkyrie. It’s a paranormal story that had me hooked from the very beginning. I love the main character Delilah. When I read the synopsis of this book, I thought the Sheriff was going to be a bad guy. Instead, he’s a love connection. There are a ton of twists and there isn’t exactly a cliffhanger, but it does leave you wanting more. This is a well developed story that is a great start to a new series. No Rest for the Wicked is the first in the Life is Hell series,
