This book is a great second chance romance. The characters have a fantastic chemistry right from the start and I loved watching their relationship evolve. The ex-best friend / little sister element to the book I think added more depth to the story. It gave them a great history to draw from and I think deepened their connection. The story was fast paced and quick to read as it is a novella length story. However, I would have flown through it just as quick even if it were longer as it was such a good story to read. It was well written and an overall great story. I would definitely recommend reading this book.

Billionaire Logan Bennett is back in North Fork for a wedding and wonders if he will run into anyone he knows, he does but he never expects it to be Jinx D’Alessio. Jinx is the sister to his ex-best friend and he has not seen her in years, she is stunningly beautiful and all grown up. He tries to stay away but the attraction between them is too hard to ignore. Acting on their feelings they can’t keep their hands off one another and are falling hard for each other, the problem is Jinx’s family still holds a grudge towards Logan and will not forgive him, but which side will Jinx choose?
Fast paced second chance romance. Jinx is a strong woman who has a magnetism to her that radiates on the pages. I really enjoyed her romance with Logan. Highly entertaining.

Make me burn is a book about a girl who had crushed big time on her big brothers best friend. Jinx was always in love with Logan who never really had a family of his own. When Logan and Victor met, Victor basically made him a part of his family, coming home on breaks and holidays. When Logan disappeared abruptly, Jinx was heartbroken. He deleted his email, changed his phone number and she had no way to contact him. All she knew was, Victor now hated his former best friend Logan and the entire family took Victor’s side. When Jinx and Logan run into eachother many years later sparks fly and it’s like they have been close all along. They agreed to have one night together since both have always wanted that. They had a great night together which made it clear they both still wanted eachother as much if not more then when they were younger. The only problem now is Logan knows Vic hates him and so does his family. He refuses to come between Jinx and her family. Will she be able to uncover the truth so these two have a chance for a happy ending after finally being able to get together ? Loved this book from beginning to end. Another great read by this talented author with absolute lovable characters.

I couldn’t put this book down. Alicia did it again!! The characters that kept me going were Logan Bennett and of course Jinx D’Alessio. He was her brother’s best friend and her fantasy lover. Can they ever find a way to be together or are they destined to loved each other from afar? You must read the story to find that answer as I did. I felt the betrayal that happened between Logan and Jinx throughout the story, I also felt the love that they have had since they were teens. I felt a odd connection with Jinx because of her story about finding love at a young age and yet realizing that no one even notices except Logan. Logan has a harder time with everything because of something that might have happened between him and Vic (who is Jinx’s brother). I really think that you should read the North Fork Series Book 9.

‘Jinx D’Alessio would not settle for run of the mill. She wanted a big, dramatic, passionate love with a man whose very look could knock her off her feet. Too bad the only man who could do that was the one she could never have.’
Make Me Burn is the ninth book in the North Fork series by Alicia Street. This is another steamy, heart-warming, and well-written contemporary romance that has a billionaire romance element, a second chance, brother’s (ex) best friend/(ex) best friend’s little sister, forbidden, grudges, history (between MC’s), chemistry, spice, tension, emotion, intrigue, and finding love unexpectedly. As I love Ms. Street’s stories, I dove in as soon as this hit my Kindle, then pretty quickly realised that I knew this story because I had already read it a few years ago when it was part of the ‘Irresistible Weddings’ Anthology. I am definitely not sorry to have reread it again now, and have enjoyed it just as much this time round as I did when I first read it. This is Jinx D’Alessio and Logan Bennett’s story- and they take us on quite a heartwarming tale, with just enough drama and angst to keep things interesting. Logan is in town for a friend’s wedding and certainly never expected to see his ex-best friend’s little sister, now all grown up and very enticing. The waters were very muddied after his falling out with her brother, but the bro-code doesn’t apply anymore- does it? – so game on. Jinx grew up having the biggest crush on Logan, but now he’s the whole package. But with her romantic history, she might be about to get burned. What happened? Well, it proved to be a very enjoyable story with plenty of heart. This is a novella length story, which made for a very quick and easy read. Happy Reading…

Make Me Burn by Alicia Street is the ninth book in the fabulous North Fork series. It is a brother’s best friend forbidden tantalizing tale that heats up the pages. I really enjoy reading Alicias work. This wonderfully written tale this is a quick and easy read that will delight readers. I was drawn into the story and turning the last page before I knew it. I was so engrossed and drawn into the characters’ lives and their journey to HEA. There is steam and a few twists, angst, passion, anger, love, steamy scenes, drama and a lot more in between. The want is intense and palpable that it oozes off every page. The story lived up to its title because burn they did. She has been in love with him forever, but he has always been off limits in more than one way. But now she will take what she wants consequences be damned. She is going in full steam ahead. When a sexy siren walks in his direction, he decides to make her his after all this time, brothers be damned. Challenge accepted! I am excited to read more of the series.

This was an excellent read. I am such a fan of this series. They are hot, sexy and entertaining. The chemistry in this book is off the chart. No bro land is where we go this time. You shouldn’t go for your enemy’s little sister, but hey, do it anyway. The story is well-done. You can feel the heat. The characters have excellent chemistry. I love the spark factor. I couldn’t put the book down. This is one I highly recommend for romance lovers.

Billionaire Logan Bennett wastes no time with games he can’t win. And that includes hooking up with the little sister of his best friend. Correction—ex-best friend.
Jinx D’Alessio had always been a firecracker, a little troublemaker who used to tickle his funny bone when she was a kid. But tonight her all-grown-up siren dance is tickling a different part of his anatomy. Finally getting his hands on the off-limits beauty would be poking the hornet’s nest of the feud he has with her brother—but it might be so worth it.
Jinx has been crazy over her big brother’s best friend since she was a teen, but she knew he would never touch her no matter how much she wanted it. Now, at twenty-nine, her history with men is like a bunch of bad rides at an amusement park.
After the trouble between Logan and her brother she knew she shouldn’t even be talking to him. But Jinx refuses to settle for a boring, run of the mill romance. She wants a big, dramatic, passionate love with a man who can knock her off her feet with one look.
Too bad the only man who can do that is Logan Bennett. The one she can never have.

This is the third book in the North Fork Series but it is the first one that I have read. Caleb and Wynter are brought together when they help rescue a stray dog. They both make assumptions about the other but they also just can’t seem to stay away from each other. Neither one is wanting a relationship after the disasters of their past relationships. There are forces beyond their control that keep pulling them back to each other. This story was well written and kept me wanting more.

Caleb and Wynter come from different backgrounds, but both have their hearts off the table for love. Plus, how can you not love it when they meet over an adorable dog named Reggie that ends up bringing them together! A cute and quick romantic read with wonderful characters. I’m excited to go back and read the other books in this series.

Any book that starts with a dog in any way, shape or form already has points from me. Throw in a good looking man who helps save said dog and you can add several more points
Caleb and Wynter both have had their heartaches and sworn off relationships. She has seen him several times, but never formally introduced until Reggie.
I really liked Wynter from the beginning and it only grew from there. She has a heart of gold and goes above and beyond what most people would do to help the animals of North Fork.
Caleb isn’t at all what I was expecting with the job, car & family money. I’m so glad I was.
I have enjoyed the two of the series I have read and will make sure to keep up with future releases.

This is the third book in the series but you definitely don’t miss anything by starting with it. Wynter and Caleb have both been bitten before in love and have taken the once bitten twice shy idea to new heights. They flirt with the idea of each other but it isn’t until a will gives them a reason to stay in each other’s company that they finally start to give in. Plus you really just want Caleb to get that dog!! This can be read as a stand-alone or in a series. I will be going back to the first book in the series to start from the beginning!!

An entertaining and engaging contemporary romance which had me captivated throughout. This heartwarming romance features a mysterious letter, a secret history shared and a loveable rescued mutt. Both Wynter and Caleb have given up on love but that was before they had met each other. Wynter used to think of herself as a female Robin Hood, as a professional fundraiser working for nonprofits she enjoyed schmoozing with wealthy people, in order to talk them into donating their money to good causes. However, having fallen for a charming liar both her heart and her career were shattered, and she’s now sworn off all men. Meanwhile, Ex-Navy SEAL Caleb is fine with one night stands but he’s not looking for love. Following his last military tour, he feels that parts of him are dead, including his heart and he’s done with trying to be anyones hero. So he now makes big money selling high priced yachts and having easy flings with women. Then Wynter and Caleb meet and suddenly love is an option after all. Both Caleb and Wynter are likeable and relatable characters and I loved their developing relationship throughout the story. Each book in the series can be read as a standalone story.

Melt My Heart (North Fork Series Book 3) by Alicia Street. I loved this 3rd book in the North Fork Series. Its the story of Wynter and Caleb who have both sworn off love. Wynter is used to schmoozing with the rich trying to get them to donate money to the cause of the month. After being heartbroken she takes another route and becomes a waitress. She’s also taking care of her aunt and trying to start a non profit so she has no time for love. When she meets Caleb at the cafe she’s working at she finds him attractive but has no use for men right now. Caleb is a retired Navy Seal and has seen more bad things than most people. He works selling fancy Yachts to rich people so he finds many one night stands thru his customers. He has no reason for a relationship. The more time Caleb and Wynter spend time together the more the attraction is real. Will they succumb to their desire or will they continue to be lonely?

Alicia Street really outdid herself this time with this 3rd book in the North Fork Series! Melt My Heart most certainly lived up to its name, because when I was done reading this book, my heart not only melted, but I wanted to go out and adopt a cute little puppy (not that I could, my Siamese cat would not be pleased). This romance all starts by chance with Caleb Westfall, a rich playboy who is joint CEO of the Westfall Yachtworld with his big brother Tyler, who runs into a gorgeous woman (Wynter) leaning under a car trying to lure out a stray dog. This little guy is such an integral part of bringing these two strangers together to give love a chance, despite both of them having bad past relationship experiences. Wynter not only works at the restaurant that Caleb frequents on a regular basis with either his big brother, Tyler, or dates that never seem to last a day or two, but she also helps her cousin run an animal rescue. Caleb has never noticed Wynter before, usually getting the blonde, bustier waitress, but one night Tyler and Caleb get moved to Wynter’s tables to the surprise of both Caleb and Wynter. There is definitely obvious heat between these two, and Tyler enjoys joining in and antagonizing Wynter, trying to get Caleb to admit he’s attracted to their stunning waitress. The stray puppy is Caleb’s in on working his way into getting to know Wynter better, especially since he’s the only person that the stray puppy seems to connect with. Will this puppy be able to bring Wynter and Caleb together, or will they be a lost cause? You won’t want to read this newest book in this series, I was so excited to find a sneak peek into Tyler’s story at the end of this book, where we get to read about his own trial of seeking love, taking us back a bit in time before he married his wife. Don’t skip over the bonus, you will regret not reading how Tyler came about meeting Caroline. @Brandy Rymer 10/2023

This is book 3 in the North Forks series. This romance is a quick read but completely captivating. The characters are so well written and likeable that you can’t help falling in love with them. And if that wasn’t sweet enough you get the 4 legged little furball that brings them together.
Wynter and Caleb come from 2 very different backgrounds but both have been hurt in the past and are unwilling to risk their hearts again. But neither of them can deny the chemistry and attraction between them. When they both seem to be connected by a mysterious letter could this be the thing that brings them closer together or that keeps them apart? This is a really sweet romance containing chemistry, angst, trust issues, and learning to trust and love again. I haven’t read this series in order but I will definately be heading back to read them. If your looking for a sweet easy to read romance then I really recommend this book.

This is a fantastic novel. One that features characters so relatable that any of them could be a friend or a family member. We all have been there – been in a relationship that as hurt us so much that we now have trust issues and build walls around our hearts so high that we vow no one will ever cross them. Alicia street gives us two of these characters in Caleb and Wynter. I truly loved these characters so much and I felt that they had so much depth to them that they really felt like they were people who would be my friends. Caleb is a former Navy Seal and comes from an incredibly wealthy family. He knows that most women only want to be with him for his money. However, the woman who hurt him was one from when he was a Navy Seal. That’s the one that made him build the walls. Wynter has moved on from love. She is just working on building her career. However, she and Caleb intersect on a task. And from there the adventure begins. I definitely enjoyed this book and will be looking to read more from Alicia Street. She does a fantastic job with character development and in creating a plot that is incredibly relatable. I cannot wait to read more from this author.

I have read a few books from this author and she always blows my mind. This is the third book in the amazing North Fork series. It can be read as a stand alone but there are previous characters in this story as well. I was so excited to read Caleb’s book that I stopped everything and started it right away. I could not put this book down until the end. It only took me a few hours to devour this amazing story. I can’t wait to see what she will write next.
Wynter used to be all about the glitz and glamor until she got her heart broken. Now Wynter stays away from that crowd but then she meets the very handsome Caleb. She doesn’t trust him at first but there is something about him she can’t stop thinking about. Will Wynter find her Prince Charming or will he also be one of the frogs?

Reggie brings Wynter and Caleb together at a time that neither of them are really looking to get into a relationship. Wynter is busy trying to get her non-profit up and running, as well as keeping a roof over her aunt’s head. Caleb has his very wealthy clients buying up his high end yachts and keeping him afloat.
Both Wynter and Caleb receive a mysterious letter from an attorney requesting their presence in his office. Neither one can figure out what they both have to do with this particular situation until their meeting. Both of their lives could possibly change forever, if the terms and conditions are followed through.
This was an enjoyable story to read. I did not realize that this was a part of a series until I finished the book. It’s easy to follow along and can be read as a standalone. I am interested in going back and picking up the previous books in the series.

Life in a small town where everyone knows everyone else’s business causes conflict in their budding relationship. Can they overcome their own issues in order to rescue each other’s hearts?

This book is an engaging and enjoyable holiday romance story. There are some lovable characters right at its heart and I couldn’t help but become invested in them. They had both been burned by love in the past and have to work to find a way past it to find happiness with each other. This book is the third one in an already great series. It can be read as a standalone but they are all worth the read. I always enjoy this authors writing style. Each book is well written, engaging and entertaining. They are the kind of books I like to sit with on a lazy afternoon to get lost in. I thought this was a thoroughly enjoyable story and I am looking forward to the next.

Melt My Heart is the third book in the North Fork series by Alicia Street. This is a wonderful, heart-warming, and well-written contemporary holiday romance. As I was reading this, I realised that I knew the story because I had already read it a few years ago when it was part of the ‘Irresistible At Christmas- Pets to the Rescue’ Anthology. I’m not sorry that I have reread now though, as this as it is such a sweet story- and I’ve enjoyed it just as much this time as I did when I first read it. Melt My Heart is a touching story that highlights the healing power of love. Throw in a cute K9, two people who want nothing to do with love or romantic feelings, and set during the holidays -> and we have a winning recipe. Mixed with plenty of heart, emotion, drama, family, second chances, a little angst, finding love unexpectedly, and plenty of heartwarming details too. The characters have both been damaged by past experiences, they really deserved happiness- so I was rooting for them – completely investing in them and the outcome of their story. As expected from Ms. Street, it’s a very enjoyable read with plenty of heart. Happy Reading…

Sweet, swoon-worthy, lovable, heartwarming and wonderful story. I loved this book and already had me hooked with Reggie the rescue pup. Can two strangers who meet trying to rescue a scared pup find love when both have been hurt before?
Wynter is trying to piece her life back together after a very bad break up. Knowing she has sworn off love, she is focused on getting her career back on track….until she meets Caleb by chance while trying to rescue a pup. Caleb is a former Navy SEAL and now works in selling very expensive yachts for a living. Caleb was in love at one time, but that love ended up in hurt and since has sworn on being in a steady relationship. When Caleb meets Wynter….and gets to know she is a bit tough as nail on the outside, his walls start fall just a bit at a time as well as Wynter’s and her insecurities. As a secret letter was received by both Caleb and Wynter…piecing together a history that sheds some light….will Caleb and Wynter fall for each other when past trauma comes in and insecurity tried to get the best of Wynter?
I definitely recommend this book……this was a great story and I loved every page from beginning to end. I am looking forward to reading more from the author.

Romance between the heartbroken and a cute rescue pup, can’t have a cuter story than that! Between their back stories and their connection, I absolutely loved getting to know both Wynter and Caleb separately and their connection blossomed. Coming from very different backgrounds, Caleb is a local who grew up in a wealthy family and is a former Navy SEAL and Wynter is seeking a fresh start after arriving from Manhattan is reeling from her heartbroken situation. Neither is wanting to seek a special somebody but somehow they find each other. First book read in the series and eager to read more!

This is the third book of the North Fork Series. After reading the second book (which I really enjoyed) I went back to read the first book which is Fire Me Up. I know I didn’t have to, to understand this but the author tells such a good story. I just had to pick up the others’ stories from her. This one was a quick cute read with some steamy scenes you’ll love and a few twists you don’t expect but will enjoy. Wynter and Caleb even though they come from different backgrounds, I think they are perfect for each other and are soooo adorable together. Also omg who doesn’t love doggos 🥰🥰🥰🥰I’m looking forward to reading more books by Alicia Street

Melt My Heart is so relatable. If you throw money out the window and focus on the characters. Most people have been so hurt in a relationship that their trust is broken and their hearts are sealed. The author not only gives us one character like that but two. Brought together by a stray dog these two may very well be the broken pieces to mend one another. However there’s a task that needs to be completed that makes it interesting. Caleb is a local guy, former Navy Seal, and comes from a wealthy family with a lucrative business. He knows that most women see dollar signs and not him. At the same time they aren’t the ones who broke him. It was a girl he was in the service with who was severely injured and felt unlovable, not worth it. He never expected a beauty to fall into his lap, let alone be given a task by his godfather’s father to help her complete. Wynter is starting over. Her life was destroyed In Manhattan by a man no less. She doesn’t want love, she just wants a career. Goals she set out for herself when in college. Caleb and this task were never in the cards. So what happens when those items start to change her? These two go on an adventure of mending one another while trying to deliver a message. Easier said than done. But like I said at the onset, very relatable. This is my first book in this series and by this author I’ve read. I look forward to digging more into both. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I’m sure there’s more where this one came from.

5/5 stars This was my first book in the series but 100% can be read as a standalone. This book is so good. The storyline, the character development, just all in all it’s a good book. It’s not too long of a read, but it’s not too short where it feels rushed. Even though the character relationship develops a little quick, it didn’t feel weird while reading it!
