It’s difficult to say what I like best about this book. It resonated with me because our hero, Rafe, in this story is dealing with a real life situation as best he can. It’s a situation that I myself am experiencing at this time . It’s difficult emotionally to care for an aging parent and it was quite refreshing to see this addressed in a good science fiction story. I could identify with him and it made the story comforting and made my own burden seem somewhat lighter. In Not Fade Away, once again Donna S. Frelick gives us a strong hero and heroine. Charlie is very confident and sure of herself. She, like all good caregivers, knows there’s more than one patient. It was such a good story I’m pretty sure I will be reading it again.

Frelick – Review by Jonell Collins
Donna S. Frelick has done it again with her fourth book in the Interstellar Rescue Series; Not Fade Away. I’m going to have to say that this book was my favorite out of the series, and although it is technically the last book, it can defiantly be read as a stand-alone. Donna has such an elegant way of writing character descriptions and bringing a great story plot to life. Her writing in this book was flawless as usual and I felt as if I really connected to the characters that she portrays so well in this story. Rafe Gordon is and has always been an agent with Rescue. Although he is human, he grew up on a different planet and was raised by his parents, who were both agents of rescue. Rafe is very focused on his job and cares more about his work then finding the love of a woman for more than one night. His father, Del, has been diagnosed with a form of dementia that has taken over much of his brain and personality. Despite being debilitated with this disease he becomes the target of alien assassins and they are forced to relocate to a safer place. Rescue figures the safest place for Del and Rafe to hide for a while is on Earth were Del was born, Masey, North Carolina. After being transported to their new home on the mountains, Del is assigned a home health nurse. Charlie McIntyre is the home health nurse assigned to Dels case. After her very first visit with her therapy dog, Happy in tow, she realizes there is something entirely different about this particular case. Del frequently has spells of occurrences that are inconsistent with his form of dementia diagnosis. These episodes are really otherworldly and the more time she spends around Del and his dangerously attractive son the more she begins to question not only his diagnosis but also the “story” of who they are. Even if Rafe cares for her, more than he tries to let on, he keeps her at a safe distance. Charlie could never know the secrets that he and Del are keeping. Charlie works at breaking down the barrier of secrets as the assassin closes in. Secrets are exposed as the truth behind the questions of why Del was set as a target in the first place, are revealed. What they are up against is not just an assassin who is on their tails but also a machine that is made to kill and conquer all other planets in orbit.

Frelick – Review by Cassi Rogers
Not Fade Away is an exciting science fiction book by Donna S. Frelick, the fourth in her Interstellar Rescue Series. It focuses on the characters of Del, a retired hero whose limited mobility and dementia means he needs to be cared for by his son, Rescue agent Rafe, and Charlie, a home care nurse in the American town Del and Rafe are hiding in. On the periphery are characters who have been the focus of earlier books, including Gabriel, Lana, Rayna and Sam. I like how the Interstellar Rescue Series juxtaposes alien worlds and spaceships with normal, everyday Earth. The focus on dementia in this book is particularly poignant and works well within the plot. We get glimpses into Del’s past in the form of flashbacks that leave him disoriented and saying things that Charlie can’t quite make sense of. Charlie has a dog, Happy, who is a wonderful addition to the cast! Happy and Del develop a very special relationship and Happy comes into his own warning Charlie and Rafe when they are in danger. Space, romance AND a dog – what more could you ask for? I’ve been enjoying this series so far. The stories kind of work independently but it’s worth starting with the first book, Unchained Memory, to get more of the world-building and start meeting the characters. For me, this is a five star read which I would recommend to sci fi fans who enjoy stories with alien abductions and other interactions between the terrestrial and extraterrestrial.

Not Fade Away: Interstellar Rescue Series Book 4 by Donna S. Frelick My rating: 4 out of 5 stars.
This is the 4th book in the Interstellar Rescue Series. Again, and again the books in this series keep getting better and better to me. This story is full of romance, action, suspense and danger, which all nicely fit together to make for a wonderful book.
Charlie is a compassionate and loving woman with a rough history in the love department. She is assigned to a man called Del with dementia, when she meets his son Rafe. She falls in love at first sight but will continuously push him away.
Rafe is a Interstellar Rescue agent and he brings his father to earth to get care as, they are being targeted by assassins. Rafe also falls in love with Charlie at first sight but, wants to stay away in order to protect their secrets. Charlie starts digging a little too deep into their lives and soon discovers what they have been hiding. When danger reaches them it is up to Rafe to protect his father and the woman he loves.
I am fully invested at this point with this series. Each book sucks me into the story every time. Each book can be read as a standalone but I would recommend the full series.

Not Fade Away: Interstellar Rescue Series Book 4 by Donna S. Frelick
I loved this book just as much as the other three in this series. This book as well as the others in this series can be read as a standalone without feeling lost. I suggest that you read all of them because they are great reads and you do get introduced to some characters that are in other books. This story is full of action, adventure, sci fi, romance, and danger. The author does a wonderful job blending all these aspects of the story so well. There are wonderful characters in this book and Charlie and Rafe had chemistry from the start. I read this book in one sitting because it intrigued me so much and I needed to know what happens. You must read to find out where this adventure will take you. I highly recommend this book.

Not Fade Away (Interstellar Rescue Series Book 4) by Donna S. Frelick
5-Star
Not Fade Away (Interstellar Rescue Series Book 4) by Donna S. Frelick was an excellent 5-star read. It is a wonderful addition to this series. I loved the various characters including Rafe, Charlie, Del, and Happy. The author did very well with their development and backstory. It was easy to fall in love with them. There were several other characters carried over from previous novels that I was very excited to see in this book as well.
The storyline was full of action and Romance. It was easy to follow and get lost in. The author was very organized when alternating between past occurrences and present. I appreciated how the sections had a break before each. This story had an exciting climax and the author pulls everything together well at the end of her story. I highly recommend this book and the series itself.

I give Not Fade Away: Interstellar Rescue Series Book 4 by Donna S. Frelick, 4 stars.
Rafe’s father, although a well-know military man, has been in failing health. Now it seems like there is someone out to kill him. So they decide to hide him on Earth. That where he is from and he has been asking to go there for a while now. They end up in a cabin in a small town in North America. It is unlike anything Rafe has experienced before, but it is quite peaceful. He cannot manage his father alone though so they decide to hire a visiting nurse. The woman who shows up is not what the expected. Claire and her dog come in to provide aid to his father. But Rafe cannot stop thinking about her. His father is in danger though, he does not have time for a love interest. Plus he cannot divulge where the really are from. Humans don’t know about how much is really out there. But how can he say no to this woman?
This is a great addition to the series. The main characters are so different from previous couples in the series, which adds another layer to a great story. There is so much going on, action, suspense, romance — you feel so much for these people. Oh and Happy is a wonderful addition!
This is a well written science fiction romance that weaves a wonderful world you will fall into and not stop reading until the book is done.

Not Fade Away by Donna Frelick was another out of this world read. I would give this hook a five out of five stars. I love Donna’s world and as the fourth book in the series it does a great job keeping me pulled in. Charlie was a great character to read, a good balance of caring and strength. Rafe was an interesting read he did not know what was going on but I loved the humor he brought to the story.

Frelick – Review by Kerry Carr
Rescue agent Rafe Gordon is human, though Earth has never been his home. But when his legendary father Del becomes the target of alien assassins, Rafe must hide the dementia-debilitated hero in the small mountain town where the old man was born—Masey, North Carolina, USA, Earth.
Home care nurse Charlie McIntyre and her therapy dog, Happy, have never had such challenging clients before. Del’s otherworldly “episodes” are not explained by his diagnosis, making Charlie question everything about her mysterious charge and his dangerously attractive son. Rafe has the answers she needs, but Charlie will have to break through his wall of secrets to get them.
As the heat rises between Charlie and Rafe, the deadly alien hunters circle closer. The light they seek to extinguish flickers in the gloom of Del’s fading mind—the memory of a planet-killer that threatens to enslave the galaxy.

Not Fade Away is the fourth book in the Interstellar Rescue Series by Donna S. Frelick. Ms. Frelick is a new-to-me author and I found this book was a great introduction to her style and has given me some new books to add to my TBR. Even though this is the fourth book in the series, it can be read as a standalone without feeling like you are missing part of the story. There are other recurring characters in this story who really intrigued me, and I definitely want to go back and read the other three books and catch up on their stories, too. This is a bit of a racy space adventure- so it’s a science fiction full of aliens, assassins, danger, action, adventure, mystery, secrets, intrigue, and a hot romance. Rafe Gordon is a Rescue Agent and soldier who has been fighting Alien Slavers since he was old enough to carry a weapon. His father is a bit of a legend among the Interstellar Rescue, but is now a shell of the man he once was, now confined to a wheelchair, while dementia ravages his mind. Rafe is honouring his father’s wishes by bringing him ‘home’ to earth- a place he hasn’t seen in 60 years. But soon find they have been targeted by an assassin, who is hunting them through the galaxy. Charlie McIntyre is a Home Health Therapist and registered Nurse who works with dementia patients and their families. Her world is turned upside down when a new client moves to town. There is something different about the old man and his sexy son- and she has a strange feeling about them and the case. She’s not interested in any kind of romantic relationship because she had a bad past experience that still haunts her, plus she doesn’t get involved with clients. But the chemistry that bubbles between Rafe and her, is becoming harder to resist. What happens when they give in to their desire? When secrets are exposed, and danger comes calling, will their blossoming romance be strong enough to survive? Can Rafe keep them all safe? This was a great story, even though I initially had trouble ‘getting into’ it. I can’t quite put my finger on it, but something about the flow of the story was a little off for me and I struggled with it for about a quarter of the book. Then things change, the flow got much better- and I was hooked. The story weaves from past to present and back again many times through out the story- unravelling a lot of the backstory and ‘motive’ for the situation they find themselves in. Ms. Frelick cleverly wove the past and present together into a smooth and intriguing read. The book has a lot of characters to keep track of, and the story is told from multiple POV’s- giving it a lot of added information and interest. Ms. Frelick orchestrates all the characters and perspectives very well and blends them into the story without any kind of confusion. There is definitely more to this story than first meets the eye, and I will certainly be reading more of Ms. Frelicks work, for sure.

Not Fade Away: Interstellar Rescue Series Book 4 by Donna S. Frelick is a science fiction romance story. I am not much of a sci fi reader but I enjoyed this one. There is action and danger, romance and other worlds and beings. This is the fourth book in a series and it was easy to follow and the story is well written. I found it enjoyable as we got to know and love the wonderful and engaging characters. The unique plots and humour kept me turning the pages and hanging on to every word. I now have to go back and read the other books in this series.
