Emma is hired by a fellow co-worker to examine the circumstances around his father’s death. Along the way she is attacked like two other women, but she survived the attack. Now it is time to really solve who is after the family fortune and who is haunting the house. Of course, along the way we are privy to the relationship Emma has with her family and how together they all form a solid unit and help to solve the case of Haunted Christmas. Again, such a great strong lead character in Emma and her love interest is just the sweetest love ever. I love the historical aspect that comes into play and the traditional recipes that are made and given recipes for. Who could ask for more than to sit down with a great book, a cup of coffee, and the thought of yummy recipes to try to make upon finishing the book!? A winner in my eyes!!! I am one of this author’s biggest fans! Such a wholesome read and very well-developed plot and finish.

In the Notebook Mysteries series A Haunted Christmas is a feel-good, cozy, Christmas Carol ‘esque mystery novel that has a bit of a sinister edge. Ethan has been tasked with cleaning up, decorating, and holding the annual Christmas party at his old childhood home after the death of his father. Servants are running away claiming the mansion is haunted because of weird noises and apparitions that they have seen and in the beginning of the book we are greeted with a scene pulled straight from a Christmas Carol. What really happened to Ethan’s father? That’s the question that Ethan has tasked to Emma and her Scooby-Doo gang type family to answer for him.

Haunted Christmas is the latest book in the Notebook Mysteries Series. Our young sleuth Emma is busily preparing for the upcoming holidays. Still working part-time in the family’s bakery gives her the opportunity to work on some holiday baking while still having the time to solve the odd mystery here and there. When Emma is approached by a friend who wants her to investigate a haunted house Emma is skeptical. She does not believe in ghosts, but her friend is unable to believe it could be anything else after hearing rattling chains and seeing things that are not there. Add to that a mysterious death ruled as a suicide and Emma starts following a trail of clues that unravels further mysteries to be solved.

Once again, the author has done an amazing job of creating an historical mystery full of twists and turns. Young Emma is as tenacious and determined as ever to get to the bottom of another mystery while danger lurks around every corner. The author does an amazing job of describing each scene in such detail that you can feel the cold in the air, feel the ice under your feet, and feel the sense of danger lingering in the air. The Christmas backdrop to the story and the baking made me excited to start prepping for the upcoming holidays. I could almost smell the delicious scents of fresh baked goods coming from Emma’s family bakery. Huge thank you to the author for including recipes at the end of the book for some of those delicious baked goods I could smell throughout the book.

Although this book can be read as a standalone, I highly recommend reading the entire Notebook Mysteries Series. A great addition for anyone looking for a cozy historical mystery with a holiday backdrop.

Emma’s business is going brilliantly at the moment and with her relationship with Jonathan also going well, she feels at peace with life, so when a friend asks her to investigate the death of his father she instantly takes up the investigation to help find out what really happened.

So as Emma arrives at the manor this are not quite what they seem, the whole place is like Charles Dickins “Christmas Carol” and when strange things happen she may think the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future have arrived to help solve the mystery, but she discovers more mundane reasons within the family. Can Emma and her team solve the mystery and help her friend, you will have to find out.

I love this series it is well written and the characters are just adorable to read with there interactions and chemistry with each other. As this is one of the short books in this series you could read as a stand alone as the characters do offer some back story to them but it may be advisable to read the full series up to now to get a better overall insight into the characters but with that said the wonderful worlds the author creates in each story is just breath taking,

I loved the interaction between Emma and her team and you can see how they work seamlessly to try and solve the mysteries which have been put in front of them. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series and see what next adventures Jonathan and Emma are plunged into.

I rarely have favorites of anything, and I might have to declare Kimberly Mullins as one of my favorite authors! Here we have another fast-paced adventure with Emma and her special team. She’s added another job description to her ever growing resume, and is becoming quite the sleuth. In book one, Emma would write her observations down in her little black notebooks, and then solve mysteries no one had even asked her to solve. In books two and three, she is becoming more and more involved with a detective agency, and in this Christmas Novella she is asked by a colleague to investigate his father’s death at his haunted house.

Emma is an independent, strong-willed woman that has many talents. This would be a great book, and series for that matter, for young and old alike. And, I would be remiss if I didn’t mention all the lovely recipes!

I was so excited to be able to go on yet another adventure with Emma and the gang and during my favorite time of the year no less. It’s the Christmas season, and of course more mystery abounds. The book is written to pick up where the last book left off, but also allows new readers to quickly join in on the fun without being confused about past events that brought our beloved characters to where they currently are in their lives. I really enjoyed this book just like the others, with all of its historical facts and charisma, and I hope to see more of the Notebook Mysteries series in the future.

This is the latest in the series that follows teenage amateur sleuth, Emma. The series itself is full of adventure, mystery, fun, and drama. This book is no exception. While being a quick read it continues to follow the life of Emma who while preparing for Christmas finds herself embroiled in another mystery. You can read this as a stand alone but while you will get a great storyline and fun characters you are missing out on what really makes all those characters tick. Throughout the series we learn so much about each one’s backstory and you always get a great storyline and another adventurous mystery that must be solved! I definitely recommend reading this story and all Emma’s stories!!

Emma is asked by a fellow coworker to prove his father’s death was murder. His family has an obsession with Dicken’s “A Christmas Carol” which becomes apparent as soon as they visit the house. It also adds some extra spooky happenings that seem very similar to the tale. As they prepare for Christmas, Emma brings in her crew to help get to the bottom of this mystery. Can they solve it before the next victim is claimed?

This book series is such an enjoyable read! Each book has its own twists and turns that I didn’t see coming. I always think I know what is coming but it’s never as black and white. I enjoy reading about Emma and her family and how they help others. They have such compassionate hearts for others and the author does an excellent job conveying that to their readers. Looking forward to the next installment!

Oh boy, did I enjoy this novella! Emma is back in an A Christmas Carol-type mystery. I loved the light-heartedness mixed with a bit of spookiness. Emma is back at it, helping a friend investigate a haunted mansion. This book was the perfect fall/Christmas read. There are some twists and turns and it keeps you hooked. This book is fast-paced and a page-turner. It is also a quick read. I was very sad to be done reading it. The ending is clever. You will definitely enjoy this book.

Haunted Christmas is another book in the Notebook Mysteries series. It could probably be read as a stand alone, but with some difficulty. There are a lot of characters, which I know from past books, and their relationships and professions. While you may follow and enjoy as a stand alone, some might struggle keeping the characters straight. This is a quick read, much shorter than the others in the series. It takes place around Christmas time, and has many references to Dickens “A Christmas Carol”. I enjoyed it, and like how the case was wrapped up. The author is so creative with the crimes and methods used, as well as fitting of the time. I look forward to more adventures with Emma and her family.

This isn’t the first book I’ve read by the author. I love every book in the series so far. Each book gets better and Emma does what she does best. She solves mysteries. Haunted Christmas is the fifth book in the Notebook Mysteries Series.

Emma is back with her team. She’s still working for the bakery and as a courier. When a co-worker needs her help she does it. The quote I chose for Emma is: “Something has put this notion in his head. He’s coming over tonight to review the case with us. He’ll be here at eight. I think we should hear him out and take him seriously. I don’t want him to feel we are making fun of him.”

Highly recommended for YA Cozy Mystery lovers.

The only downside of a novella is that it leaves you wanting more! I loved The Christmas Carol nod in this story.

I loved how everyone on her team was involved with this case. How each of them expressed their concerns at various times. The fact that some of the help was trying to keep a secret, and had managed to for so many years just to protect Ethan. Family will protect family, which shows a lot in this story not just with Ethan but with Emma and her family.

The newest addition to the Notebook Mysteries entitled Haunted Christmas does not disappoint! Once again Kimberly Mullins has brought mystery-solving Emma to life, this time with some holiday adventure. With some other familiar characters as well as some new ones this book brings the magic of Christmas with a good dose of mystery spirit. It’s a quick read and enjoyable by itself but you won’t regret starting at the beginning of this fun series. I’ve loved getting to be a part of the family once more!

This series has been the best so far. Emma has been doing well at her firm job, and it just so happens to be break time for Christmas. What I love about this one is how it’s a twist with A Christmas Carol! Her coworker who helped her on one of her last mysteries needs a favor returned. With this favor becomes a few mysteries at once. She once again meets more drama, family love, friendships, and love with Jeremy. I love their relationship!! Thanks again for another amazing book!

Two of my favorite things are: the holidays and the supernatural. So, of course, I love Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, and I love this book. Historical fiction with a twist of mystery and suspense, this book is just as good as the others in this series. Emma has been one of my favorite lead characters since I picked up the first book. This book did not last long enough for my taste, but, they never do. I would suggest reading the previous books in this series – only because they are fabulous, and it will be worth your time. However, if you are looking for a story that will scoop you up and drop you into the 19th century, you could read this as a standalone, as well, and be just fine. This book could be a thousand pages long, and I would probably still complain it wasn’t long enough. Highly recommend!

All the covers have been good so far but this one is my favourite and I’m not sure if it’s because I’ve watched Emma grow and we’ve been on a journey or if it’s because the smell of Christmas is in the air it could even be a combination ❣️📕

Again Emma and her friends are at it again , find a killer , solve a murder and still enjoy Christmas . There was a “ Christmas Carol” vibe to it and it added to the wonder of our Emma and her mystery solving friends ….

This is one I’ll read again closer to Christmas while nibbling on a mince pie and sipping eggnog ❣️📕

Christmas is a busy time of year for Emma’s family’s business. All the baking orders and decorating for Christmas, there’s barely any free time. When a friend asks for help, Emma cannot refuse him, especially when it involves a haunted house. Strange noises, ghost sightings, and people disappearing all make for an entertaining read. I really enjoy this series and all the recipes from the story that are included. I highly recommend it!

I thought the next installment could not possibly be better than the other books in the series, as they were very fun, great reads and boy was I wrong! This Christmas these mystery story took the cake!! I believe that this books’ storyline of having her getting ready for the holiday and having crime happen, that she did not plan for, made this story that much more fun! Crime waits for no one and while this one was still a great mystery to read, having it be a Christmas theme made it all the more enjoyable to read! I loved reading these stories and I cannot wait to read more by this wonderful author as the writing style was superb!

A great quick read, with a happy ending.
I am not one for mysteries but reading Haunted Christmas by Kimberly Mullins makes me want to continue reading mysteries. This was a very quick read, but I loved every minute of it. Seeing the different relationships between each character was a great addition to the story.

I loved the strong female lead, who did not need any help. How she defended herself in every situation, especially towards the end.

Being a large romance person, I would have loved to see her and Jeremy’s relationship more, but hopefully that is shown in the other books of this series.

Another favorite part of this book, is how each person or situation is given background information. So, even if you missed other books of this series, you still get to know parts of information from those previous books.

I also would love to keep reading about Emma’s past. Her past is explained a little in this book, but does not go into great detail.

I cannot wait to try the recipes at the end of the book, especially since it is apple season where I live.

Thank you Kimberly Mullins for a great read, I cannot wait to read more!

The Notebook Mysteries series is brilliant and is even better with this bite-sized Christmas themed novella. This book brings Emma’s crew together to solve a crime based at a haunted house. Even though this is a quick read, it is written with depth and includes suspense, action and adventure. It can be read as a stand-alone but is so much better if read within the series. While this book is a little shorter than the others it is still a great fast paced story with plenty of suspense and mystery to keep you interested. Emma is back with another mystery to solve and it is coming up to Christmas time and Emma is busy with last minute deliveries for one job and putting more hours in at the family bakery to help out with the festive orders. The weather is turning and it is bitingly cold, especially when the snow starts to fall and this makes it a lot harder for Emma to go out on her bicycle.

One one of her office days, someone asks her for a favour, when they have reports that their relatives house is haunted and it is becoming increasingly difficult to convince people to stay there. Meanwhile, while making one delivery, Emma has a deadly encounter and Emma becomes embroiled in another more hazardous than ever before.

While all the action is happening, Emma and her family are trying to plan their own festivities, meals, treats as well as time for decorating the house, so this takes Emma’s mind of the things that she can’t control, but will they be able to solve these two mysteries before anyone else gets hurt? This is another thrilling chase through the streets of 1890’s Chicago by a female detective, as she unveils the clues and solves a mystery which Charles Dickens himself would be proud of.

Notebook Mysteries ~ Haunted Christmas by Kimberly Mullins. l have loved this series and this book was no different. Its the continuing story of Emma who is well known for her skill in solving crimes. Evan has asked Emma if she will help solve the death of his father. He knows there is more to the story than what he’s being told. Now the timeline in this story is 1880’s Christmas in Chicago and with this author’s writing I felt like I was there, freezing and celebrating. This story is full of young Emma and her friends as they go to Haunted Houses and try to solve the death of Evan’s dad. Its a young adult quick read about friendship, crime, solving cases and maybe even murder. I do recommend reading the 1st books to get to know all the characters. I feel it makes the story so much more enjoyable.
