Ashley Pagano is a new author for me and I am soooo happy! She writes so beautifully and gave us a story that you can’t put down until you’re finished. This book held all the mystery and intrigue and I enjoyed the sense of a fighting spirit. It was well put together and the characters absolutely made the book! I was flipping pages, heart racing, and palms sweating more than once! A great book to travel to another world in! It had great balance and was a fun exciting read!!

This cozy mystery was definitely an interesting one. When I first read the title I wasn’t sure it was for me but after reading the synopsis and looking at the beautiful colors in the cover I decided to give it a shot. The cast of characters are quirky and everyone is mysterious in their own way. But that’s not all this cozy mystery had it was also full of adventure, drama, humor and so much more. While I have never read anything by this author before I will definitely be looking for more.

I loved the first book and moved on to this one with high hopes. It didn’t disappoint. Makayla is back in year two at the Grave Digger Academy. This years competition is more important than ever as a win means the academy remains open and a loss means the doors of the school will close. But more importantly the competition seems to have been rigged and the plot thickens as more Aegis stones surface. The characters are lovable, well developed and have great interactions. The storyline is amazing and makes for a great read. I can’t wait to read book 3.

This was my first read of this author. Never in my life have I met a main character I hated as much as Nico (well in the beginning anyway), in a storyline that kept me in its clutches until the very last word. This book was intense and made me look for further meaning. I really love that the author brings about a kind of spiritual recreation and really pushes through to the readers the human experience and its importance in our lives. This book left me mind blown!! I loved every last word!

Moby Plays the Flute is a cute kids book, with a big message. At first, I thought the book was leading toward Moby having a learning disability, or perhaps ADHD. As she was struggling, I wanted to reach out and give her a hug- her mom is not mentioned, and her dad is a deployed Marine. It saddened me that she was struggling for a full year before everything clicking and her turn around. However, my 6 year old didn’t catch on to any of that- he was just happy she learned how to play the flute and found her “hidden” gift. The artwork is wonderful, very vibrant colors and how expressive Moby is. Her facial expression and posture changes as the story progresses, and it lets us know how she is feeling. Moby has quite the fashion sense, and I love how all the colors pop. The author very clearly spelled out the meaning of the book at the end, and the importance of self love and self confidence. I love the summary of the messages at the end, along with the interactive suggestions. This book would be great for an elementary school teacher to read in class, and build a lesson around.

This story is based on a true story of a woman who is skilled in healing and is accused of witchcraft in the early twentieth century as a result of her skillset. The way that Cheryl Burman turned a tale from where she lives into a beautiful story is simply amazing. It is my first read by this author and definitely not my last as she has a way with words and crafting a remarkable story that begged to be read.
This story follows the main character Hester from the time she was a young girl to her adult years with the trials and events that she went through. As a daughter to a farmer she longs for more than the life she lives. It is in this young age she hears the river and its nymphs calling to her. A man named Aaron prevents her from entering the river and becomes her teacher in the healing arts. This is frowned upon. This is witchcraft…but this is her calling. Hester’s desire to forge her own path in life against the ideals of society has you rooting for her every step of the way. You simply cannot put down the book. Will Hester succeed in making her own destiny? Will the river that called her be a helper or a hindrance?
This book had me hooked from the beginning. Taking you through several decades worth of pain for two families. From the Forests of Vietnam to the shores of Biloxi, Mississippi. Unsure how to review without almost rewriting the book here. Suspenseful is the best way to describe it. I did not want to put it down.

This was a very interesting piece of work for me. I have slightly been into poetry in the past so I decided to give this a try. Oh what a wild trip it was! I did struggle with a lot of words the entire book and I feel my vocabulary is rather large. I would recommend having a dictionary as you go, although the rhythm flows quite well.

Grave Digger Academy is not the place anyone wants to end up. Last year did not go well and they need to win the inter-academy competition to keep the academy open. Makayla and her friends need to win, but something is wrong with the competition. This book was a quick enjoyable read.

This is another exciting book in this series. It’s Makayla’s second year at the academy and it’s going to be filled with just as much drama and adventure as the first. The inter academy games is happening this year and the headmistress gives Makayla no choice but to sign up. So much is riding on these games. Losing would ensure the school closes for good. What would the world do without grave diggers to keep the dead six feet under?
I really like Makayla. She’s genuine, curious and has a mind of her own. She’s not afraid to go against the flow of what everyone considers the norm. She’s grown in this novel and is stronger than she realizes. I love the variety of helpers that she is collecting. The rest of the characters are quirky and unique adding humour to the story. This is a fun and entertaining book. I’m looking forward to reading more of this series.

An Inheritance to Die For is the fourth book in the Cozy Mysteries To Die For series. I was delighted to see a new book in this series. For those who haven’t read the previous books, this can be read as a standalone, but I recommend reading the earlier books first. Beck is excited to be on the case again. This time it takes her to Miami and the family upheaval of a former college roommate. I enjoyed this book as I had the earlier books in the series. This one deals with relationships and how they can influence perceptions and events. I liked seeing how Beck has grown and how she is coming into her own. It was also interesting to see some people who knew Beck while in school versus those who know her now. I look forward to reading more in this series and author in the future.

We are now into year 2 of Grave Digger Academy for Makayla. Her family finally treats her like herself again after they hear what her mother has been hiding. She knows the academy is keeping her there since they know her ancestry, so she’s going to make this school the best it can be for her. There are academy competitions coming up against all the other schools, so no one was transferred as they need all the bodies they can get. She’s with her friends, and they go through a lot more together in year 2! Give this series a shot!

Sometimes second books in a series don’t live up to the quality of the first book, but I thought the author did a good job making the transition feel smooth. I thought the second book was just as enjoyable as the first. It was nice to already have an understanding of the main characters and basic plot, but getting to see the growth into the second year was interesting. Looking forward to the rest of the series!

I really enjoyed this romance. It was easy to read and quickly sucked me into the story. The characters were easily related to. I thought it was funny and emotional, but not overly dramatic. It had elements that were realistic, while still having parts that allowed for fantasy/daydream type of scenarios. This is a good choice if you like a slow burn, friends-to-lovers type of quick read. I’m looking forward to the next book in the series.

Having read and enjoyed the previous books in this series I was looking forward to this fourth novel, and I was not disappointed. It was lovely being back with Beck O’Rourke, who feels like an old friend now, and I enjoyed following alongside her as she traveled to Miami, to investigate the possible suicide or murder of her college roommate’s father. It was also great being back at the now much loved setting of the ‘Beach Reads’ bookstore and café, “a block off the ocean in quaint Manatee Beach, Florida”. Beck is taking on her first paid job as a private investigator, following three successful murder investigations as an amateur. For this investigation Beck has to enter her spoiled freshman roommate’s privileged world and meet her fractured family, to discover if the death of Benjamin Greene, who’s heirs stand to inherit millions from his death was a suicide or in fact murder.
Beck believes his death the night before he was meeting with his lawyer, to change his will, may be more than a coincidence. Alongside Beck are regulars Miss Alice, her spirited grandmother, her feisty lifeguard sister Lizzie, and Beck’s love interest, Police detective Devon Mathis. Another gripping cozy mystery crime story in this enjoyable and engaging series, which had me hooked from start to finish. The characters are so well defined they feel like old friends and the descriptive narrative brings the settings vividly to life. I look forward to book five and being back with Beck once more!

Luna Saint Claire is a gifted author. She’s clearly well-read, skilled at developing characters, familiar with deep archetypal sagas, and adept at keeping a story line moving. What she accomplishes in less than 300 pages is truly remarkable. Whether you’re a devotee of psychological thrillers or a first-time reader, this story and its adherence to excellent story-craft will set the bar by which you judge other books.
Ms. Saint Claire begins by setting up our main character as someone we don’t want to like. She gets right into the reader’s moral conscience – we want the devil to get his due as the saying goes.
Nico is a user and abuser of women and drugs. As a teacher of Kundalini Yoga, he’s supposed to be a caretaker of others’ spiritualities so they can heal through the practice.Despite his best intentions, Nico couldn’t be farther from a true yogi than if he were on a vintage Cartoon Network episode with a side-kick named BooBoo and a jaunty little hat. What a beautiful and emotional story this turned out to be. The journey that Nico goes on and the path he takes were so well portrayed. I was drawn into this book right from the start and loved watching how things played out. The author makes you experience everything that he goes through so it feels like you are going on the journey with him. I have read a few books by this author now and I this one is definitely up there as one of the best. It was so easy to read this book because it was well written and interesting. I would definitely recommend this book.

What a terrific first book to this exciting trilogy! Wilf is a 16 year old soccer player that just wants to live like a normal kid. Unfortunately, not gonna happen, he’s sucked into the world of wizards and witches. He has to save the witches from a horrid virus going around. I found the characters amazing. The development and detail put in took so much time. They are so accurately described and easy to picture. I found the drama and adventure to be exciting and engaging. This is edge of your seat action. You have to know what’s coming up. The plot fs well laid out and flows smoothly. Great YA book and even for us older people into fantasy books. I can’t wait to start the next one.

This is an author that I never hesitate to pick up. I have enjoyed reading her books from the start, including this one. I enjoy how she is able to pull me into the story with her creative characters. They are characters that are written with a lot of heart and soul. They are characters that you won’t soon forget. They have great growth throughout the story. This made the story easy to read and had me coming back for more. I wanted to know what was next for Nico. This is a fast paced story that is hard to put down. A story that took me on a roller coaster ride of emotions. This is a great story that I really enjoyed and I highly recommend it.

Operation Pinpoint (Space Force Rejects #1) by Landra Graf
This is the first book I’ve read by the author. Operation Pinpoint is the first book in the Space Force Rejects Series. This book is a great read and I loved every minute of it.
Ravenna is a Space Force employee. Her friend and lover goes missing along with the ship. She wants in on the mission to find said ship and she gets her way. Only problem is when they find the ship, her lover is dead. The quote I chose for Ravenna is: “You’d do better to keep me as your friend versus making me an enemy. My method is the only approach for this trip, especially if you want your freedom.”
Dravos isn’t exactly human. He’s a different species and he finds his mate in Ravenna. He doesn’t trust anyone. When he finds that maybe he can trust them they betray him and his mate. The quote I chose for Dravos is: “Answering you doesn’t ascertain my trustworthiness. If anything, someone willing to openly run their mouth should be considered more dangerous. They will weave tales like a druff spider, spinning their webs in the hopes of mesmerizing you enough to stay still before they strike.”
The Author did not disappoint! Rock Bottom is about Rock, a member of the Satan’s Devils motorcycle club, and Becca, a good church girl. From the beginning, this book captures your attention. There is action, betrayal, deception, and so much more in this book that hooks you. Read this book if you like love stories, being on the edge of your seat, action adventures, and steamy behind-closed-doors scenes. Rock Bottom was unique from the other books in this series so far because the action and adventure is the first thing to occur. If anything, this made me listen continuously, I couldn’t stop.

This book was so much fun to read. The characters were so relatable. I loved how the author made all the plot twists and turns. It made for a great original read. The humor mixed with the sci-fi was amazing. I highly recommend this.

Overall this is a story that really picked up towards the end. The beginning is slower and at times confusing about what is going on. It just did not seem to flow well in the beginning or middle. It really picked up and made more sense towards the ending. I feel this storyline (which is truly different) has a lot of places it could go and intriguing characters that could be built upon. I liked the ideas of getting to the school the games and the other kids attitudes. The familiars are cute and the squirrel idea..fantastic.

This is a very beautifully written story about faith and hope and discovering who you really are. The author does an incrediable job with the story of Nico and his journey back to the person he was always meant to be. As a reader i was completely captivated by his story and transition and how he overcomes all the challenges thrown at him along the way. The author makes you feel a part of the journey like you are experiencing every thought and sensation as it happens. Some parts are hard to read but it’s just life and we all have to go through hard times to progress and become better people.
Nico’s character at the beginning I wasn’t too sure of. He was very focused on himself and using people to get what he wanted but as his journey progressed I saw the transformation of Nico and it was inspiring.
I don’t want to give more away but it is definately a must read if you are looking for something relatable to life with a lot of hope and faith.

Moby Plays the Flute by Eeha Bhatt. This is such a sweet book and the pictures are beautiful. Its the story of a little girl named Moby and her father is in the military. When he has to go away for a year he gifts her a flute for her birthday. When she tries to play the flute she realizes you can’t just play it automatically you have to learn. As she struggles and learns to play the instrument she learns that hard work and regular practice pays off. This is a great book to give as a gift for kids of all ages. My nephews that are 4 and 7 loved it!

This book was mesmerizing for all which it held. I could not turn away as I read, written exceptionally, with all the beauty of the world possible. The emotions were hard to feel at times, but it made the book!
Nico was special. You could get that from reading about him and his journey. He faced many things. Faith was a big play in the story. I found that really important and admirable, but it really made Nico who he was. Some things as I mentioned were hard to feel on Nico’s journey, but everything he endured made him the person he was at the end. To me this is a story that should not be overlooked or passed up. The main character experiences a character growth spurt throughout the course of this book. He learns that friends are worth sacrificing for. He learns that secret desires, even when not acted upon, can become deadly. He grows to appreciate his mom. He even learns to accept help. I would definitely read another book by this author!
This is such a heartwarming story! As a flute player myself, I can say that this book hit all the right notes with me! The main character develops perseverance throughout the tale. She learns an incredible lesson- that sometimes, a closer look is required. She also learns the value of hard work.
