This was an exceptional book by far! I was very much invested in the story and the characters as I read. The story really pulled you in and held you there. It was hard not to love this book and its contents!

The story was full of intrigue for me. Time travel, suspense, you name it. You did not know what to expect as you read. Very unpredictable. The author certainly has a mesmerizing writing style. Ashley Pagano has always dreamed of being an artist both figuratively and literally. Her love of art was instilled by her mother who always inspired her to be creative either with a paintbrush or with a pen and paper. As far back as she can remember her life was always centered around introspection, storytelling, and imagination. Because she is so artistic, she took to the idea of creative writing very passionately. Her ability to describe a scene, person, or place, she compares to painting a picture, where she can describe every detail vividly in order to make the reader feel like they’re truly living in the story. Her works of writing usually center around a powerhouse female protagonist (which reflect her own personality), who progresses through many wild and extreme obstacles. Ashley loves to write stories that end with a cliffhanger, that have the reader begging for more and questioning what happens next. Her most recent novel sets the stage for the supernatural romance of the century and includes fairies, vampires, werewolves, witches, and shapeshifters who just love to get in the way of true love. Ashley has won awards for her design, art, and writing.

Ashley doesn’t believe in down time whatsoever and actually loves having a full “To-Do”list. Ashley is a wife to her wonderful husband, Eric and a mother to two beautiful girls named Dakota and Ember. She is also a Graphic Designer and a health and fitness coach. Her husband and daughters inspire her to be the best person she can be and encourage her to pursue any of her dreams (no matter how extravagant they may be).

Stumble & Fall (A Legacy of Silence Book 2) by Amy Rivers – Review by Ashley Sugar

Stumble & Fall (A Legacy of Silence, #2)Stumble & Fall by Amy Rivers
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Such an intense story and it had a hold on me from the very beginning. I didn’t realize this was a series so I didn’t read the first book, but I will be ASAP. I loved this book and the characters are lovable and the plot is just as good! Both of the main characters have been through some difficult times in their lives but that didn’t stop them! I went into this book blind and I think you should too! I always say going in blind is the best way to start a book, keeps it interesting and more surprising! I will be reading book 1..because I loved the thrill, drama and suspense of this book! I need more!

Chevalier (War Horses Book #1) by Scott Warren – Review by Angela Hayes

War Horses Book 1: ChevalierWar Horses Book 1: Chevalier by Scott Warren
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

4 Stars

Chevalier is the first book in the War Horses series by Scott Warren. This is the first book that I have read by Mr. Warren, so I really didn’t know what to expect going into the story. I was intrigued by the title, the interesting cover, and the blurb’s promise of a captivating plot. So I took a chance and immediately plunged in to explore.
I am so glad that I took a chance on this book, because it proved to be a fantastic Mecha military sci-fi story with an action-packed storyline, war, combat, adventure, tension, danger, dramatic developments, fantastic world-creation, and even a little humour just to keep things from getting too heavy.
What happens when a tank mechanic finds himself thrust from behind the lines right into the face of war? Vandal and the rest of the Chevalier’s will need to rise to the challenge to face off against seemingly overwhelming odds if they are to stand a chance of surviving. Vandal has the extra challenge of trying to learn on the fly, to competently control and operate the upright tank, something he was never trained to do before. What happens makes for an engrossing story.
Looking forward to Book #2, and exploring more of Mr. Warren’s work.
Happy Reading!

Thank you, Scott Warren!

Ooooh I loved this book from the very first page! Ryker and Wednesday loooove each other but she keeps doubting it. She doesn’t think they should be together because they’re not the same. She’s a mage and he’s a panda shifter. They’re also best friends. This book was great and I enjoyed it!! GREAT characters and I loooove the story. She’s doubtful and he just wants to prove to her that he wants no one BUT her. Super super cute read. The passion the main characters have is phenomenal and I love the writing in this book too. I’ll be checking out more of this authors books!

Bycatch by Alexander Blevens took me by surprise. When I initially chose this book I thought it would be a ‘good’ story, something I could use as a bit of a ‘palate cleanse’ between some of my ‘heavier’ reads. But this took me by surprise- in a great way. It grabbed me right from the get-go and didn’t release me till I had read every word. I was so engrossed in the story that I ended up reading it in one sitting. Sleep is overrated, after all lol.
It is an entertaining and suspenseful thriller with historical details, crime (and investigation), family dynamics, tortured souls, human frailty, tension, intrigue, challenges, complexity, secrets, interconnected details, moving moments, guilt, murder, greed, culture, and more.
This is a well-written, detailed, and descriptive story with skillfully crafted characters who all had their own unique personalities, quirks, and flaws.
I have been debating how to review this story ever since I finished reading it, not because there was anything wrong…. but because I don’t want to give too much away. I think I will let the blurb speak for the story and recommend going into the story a little blind and let the author, plot, and characters surprise you with a riveting read.
If you love a bit of a twisty thriller, with tortured souls, secrets, murder, mystery, historical details, and gripping tension- then you will definitely want to snap up a copy for yourself to explore- asap.
As this is his debut novel, I eagerly await more from Mr. Blevens.
Happy Reading!

Thank you, Alexander Blevens!

Unveiling Beulah is my first Audible by this author and this narrator.   I truly enjoyed listening to this book and the narrator did a wonderful job of bringing the characters to life using different tones . The characters are relatable and fully developed and made me feel like apart of the story.  This is a wonderfully written story where the past and the present collide. Can Lucian and Bea find love and happiness? I highly recommend listening to this fast paced story that once you start listening you won’t want to stop until the end. I definitely will be looking at what other books this author  has written. I look forward to reading more from this Author.

Stumble & Fall (A Legacy of Silence Book 2) by Amy Rivers – Review by Beverly Finnie

Stumble & Fall (A Legacy of Silence, #2)Stumble & Fall by Amy Rivers
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Stumble and Fall was interesting. Definitely a lot of themes but they all weave together beautifully. Some very dark themes that could be trigger warnings for some, so be warned. I thoroughly enjoyed it. A story about two sisters who go through so many obstacles in their lives that most people would struggle with. Their lives intersect in a way that they never expected.
Tilly went through extreme trauma as a teen, and it’s followed her in life. Becoming a victim of DV when with her high school boyfriend she realizes now that it was bigger than her. It’s the way they recruit for the trafficking ring, and is heavily involved in what her sister and her boyfriend are currently going up against. Now moving back to her home state with current boyfriend has brought on extreme anxiety she’s trying to cope with. Till tragedy strikes….
Kate is out to take the ring down. Not only to avenge her sister but also the teenage girl she lost at the high school who got mixed up with the wrong crowd. Kate and Roman were involved deeply in trying to take down the trafficking ring recently. Kate as the high school counselor and Roman local law enforcement. Unfortunately for them it wasn’t before they could save a teenager’s life.
What happens when they get too close again?
Will they succeed this time?
I liked the story the author put on the page. Even with the darker themes I enjoyed. I look forward to digging deeper into this author’s other books. don’t let the dark themes stop you. Me, I’m going back to read book 1, since I definitely started book 2.

The Second View (Book 2 of The View trilogy)The Second View by Leon Stevens
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

When I saw there was a second installment of The View From Here, I had to grab it immediately! The first book was so excellent and the second did not disappoint. At the end of the first book, I wanted more, but I couldn’t figure out how that could happen with the earthquake. When the book opens with April telling Thomas she found another entrance to the realm they visited, I was excited for the newest adventure of these two friends. It seems they are more prepared on this journey, there are some laughs and a lot of mystery into this world and the beings they are seeing. The description of everything is so excellently worded, I really truly felt I was there, the world I created in my mind was so vivid. I really can’t wait to see what happens in the third book, although I am going to be sad to see it end. This author really has a way with words.

Operation Pinpoint (Space Force Rejects Book 1) by Landra Graf – Review by Carrie Reed

Operation PinpointOperation Pinpoint by Landra Graf
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Loved this book! I didn’t see Ravenna as an “ice bitch” at all, not like the other guys on her team always said. I saw the reverse, and saw them as being childish and arrogant. The characters are all nicely developed and the whole or universe in which they live in is a fun concept. The thought and time it took to develop these ideas blew my mind. Dravos, this poor guy has been through it, but I love how he knew he had a connection to Ravenna, and she to him, even though neither wanted to admit it at first. The adventure they go on together to save Ravenna’s lover, all they encounter and go through is very engaging. I could not put this book down, it is short, but packed with romance, adventure, double crossing and action. This book painted every scene vividly into my mind and I look forward to more, especially a story involving Bethel and Tract.

This book is a well written story that dives into culture, greed, and profound grief. The characters you encounter are crafted in such a way that what they are feeling or suffering from feels like you are the one with those experiences. The trauma of war with the repercussions that come from it are exposed in a light that is normally shadowed over. The lives of two different cultures living in one area is well written. Following along with the characters as time moves on and their personal journeys to healing keeps you wanting to turn the page. War related reads are not something I normally choose when picking up a story and I do not regret picking up this book. It hit me in the feelers while being an interesting read. I would highly recommend this book.

Oh I just adored this book. Kylee Parker is a Philly police officer. She is strictly by the book and all about following the rules. Jayson Donovan on the other hand is on the other side of the law. Wow what a story. The intricate details that this author put in to was…wow…superb. Although this book is different than what I normally read..I am so glad I picked this book up and the cover itself intrigued me. The author captures you in different time lines, but the story really comes together. This book is about what happens when poor choices full of greed come full circle and forgiveness between a man and a community of Vietnamese immigrants.

This is the second book in the series, which I did not realize but was still able to understand what was going on. Kate and Tilly, sisters who have been through some tough times, are trying to find their new normal. Kate is a counselor who finally has her own practice and an office to make her own. Tilly is working as a nurse. These girls are wonderful characters that show you that anything is possible and you do not have to let bad events keep you from doing what you want. A well written psychological thriller to add to your books!

I Loved You Yesterday: Book One in the Trading Heartbeats TrilogyI Loved You Yesterday: Book One in the Trading Heartbeats Trilogy by Julie Navickas
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is a good story that really drew me into the plight if the characters. It made me like them, dislike them and be frustrated at them during different times of the story. Joshua, Austin and Mavis a trio who grew up together but circumstances broke a couple apart and drew another couple closer. I struggled with how this story was going to play out. This is one nightmare triangle that has really no winner. I really liked Joshua for his hopefulness and eventually his determination..he almost seemed pure. Mavis has one heck of a decision to make and I do not envy her.

I read this fairly quickly as I enjoyed all the characters. It moves along at a good pace and easily keeps me interested with all the back and forth. I actually enjoyed Mitch as a bystander character. I was troubled over the trilogy the book was listed as because I figured this story would play out over three books. It does seem to end and the next is about other characters.

This is my first audible by this author.  I enjoyed listening to it and I look forward to listening to more by this author.  I enjoyed how the narrator brought the story to life by using different tones.  They brought the story to life and made it easy to imagine.  A story where the past and present collide.  A story where deception and rejection is strong throughout the years.  What will happen with these two souls and will they ever find a love that will last?  The characters are connectable and kept me coming back for more.  This is an easy story to listen to and entertaining.  I highly recommend this audible.

It is the first book in this series and what a great start it is. This is a dark, friends to lovers story that is full of steam and action. This is an entertaining story that is hard to put down. A story that you don’t want to miss. There is great growth throughout the story by the characters as well as the plot. I loved reading this book. I highly recommend this book and this author.

She leaves her Father’s Mercantile in New York to have her own store and love in Texas. There she meets Lucian, once from New York, but ran from an engagement he didn’t agree to. The rest is there to listen to. Lots of friendship, family drama, romance, and even threats here and there.

The Victor (The Freemasons Book 1) by Nicole Flockton – Review by Karyn Taylor

The Victor (The Freemasons #1)The Victor by Nicole Flockton
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the first book in what looks to be a cracking series. I’ve read several books by this author over the last couple of years but somehow missed this series. So glad I found it as I thoroughly enjoyed this book.
This is a really great second chance romance set in Australia. The series is set around 4 male friends who all have high positions in the Freemasons. In this book we get the story of Cole and his estranged wife Ava. The couple split after losing their baby soon after their marriage. Ava is asking for a divorce but Cole is determined to win her back and make a go of their marriage.
I really loved Cole and Ava’s story. It’s very angsty, which I love, as Ava is determined not to fall for Cole’s charms again. But that proves to be a much bigger struggle that she thought.
The story flows really well and keeps you gripped and entertained from start to finish. I enjoyed this so much and I already have book 2 on my kindle ready to lose myself in.

Stumble & Fall (A Legacy of Silence Book 2) by Amy Rivers – Review by Tanya Wall October 2022

Stumble & Fall (A Legacy of Silence, #2)Stumble & Fall by Amy Rivers
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Stumble and Fall is a great read! It is a second book in a series, but can be read as a stand alone – although it will make you want to read book 1! Tilly and her sister Kate have been through a lot in their lives – and those experiences make them darn good at their jobs. Tilly is a nurse that assists in forensic evidence in rape cases and Kate is a counselor who is building a safe house to help young girls. After surviving their own traumas they have a sense of justice to make things safe and right in their hometown.
I really enjoyed getting to know Tilly and Kate in this book – they were well written characters and kept me reading on to find out how they were going to handle the situations they both found themselves in. I was rooting for healing and justice for them both. I am definitely going to read book 1 and keep my eyes out for book 3.

NecrosisNecrosis by C.L. Schneider
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is a quick read, but it doesn’t disappoint. It starts off with action and keeps up a steady pace throughout the story. Intense, but then again, it wouldn’t be a good zombie-type story if it wasn’t. The main character, Amy, was easy to connect with right away. I can’t say too much more without spoiling it. If you like quick, intense reads, this is a great late-night story – unless you spook easily, then maybe read it during the day, lol.

I have enjoyed this series so much. Once again I was hooked from the beginning. I found myself trying to guess what was going to happen next. The characters were amazing like always. The author did an awesome job creating a world of entertainment.
