I don’t want to spoil the book, but just know that this is a must-read for avid paranormal/shifter-romance lovers! This was a whole new take on werewolves and their culture! I was enthralled by how different the idea of mates was in this book and really enjoyed the added aspect of religion that played a role in their beliefs. Many of us paranormal readers are familiar with werewolves and fated mates, but this book shows a different side that I don’t think many of us considered. Wow! I’ll be looking for book two!

This dark and twisted romance will keep you on the edge of your seat with relatable and loveable characters. Angela Lam does an amazing job at making the reader feel the emotions that the characters are feeling and as though they are in the story. Twists and turns kept me engaged through the entire book. I enjoyed No Amends from start to finish. Twists and turns occur in the story when you least expect them to. This love triangle will keep you guessing until the very end. If you are looking for a dark romance with a psychological thriller mixed in, look no further.

This author is one of my favorites. This book starts off fast paced and continues that way through the whole story. If you are a Zombie fan, this is the story for you. This story is packed with action and the ending will blow you away.
This book is narrated by Jess Jacob. She has an amazing voice and really brought this story to life. I’m looking forward to listening to more stories narrated by her.
This book has everything you need on a small cozy mystery. It does give a lot of unnecessary details at the beginning but it’s easy to get past. Birdie is everything. Is her husband haunting her? Is her house a hoarded mess? Will she figure out what happened to Jenna? Will Oda Dean get off her back about it all? A great story to read for a little bit of it all.

This is a historical romance (one of my favourite genres) with an twist adding more genres which I absolutely adored! The combination of historical romance, mystery and paranormal was brilliant. The author’s writing flowed nicely and the way it was written, from the descriptions to the narrative, did an excellent job of setting the scenes and allowing the reader to become immersed in the era and story. I enjoyed the storyline and the internal conflicts some of the characters faced. They felt believable and came across as relatable. My favourite character was Vanessa. She wasn’t demure in the way is expected of the time. She knows what she wants and acts as she decides. I did like Jacob as well, I thought they were good together, but Vanessa stole my attention from the start. A great read to have taken on holiday with me, I didn’t want to emerge from the book at all. I will be looking for more from this author, I’m now obsessed!
A historical romance with a paranormal twist. Of course, I am a big fan of attention to historical detail to transport me to another time and place, which the author certainly delivers in spades. But I was also pleasantly surprised by the fast pace of the plot and the suspense of the novel overall. The drama and the mystery of the novel made this a page-turner for me. Whether or not you’re a fan of historical fiction, I’d definitely recommend this.
Great characters, great story and perfect for the season. This is the kind of story you can cuddle up under the fireplace to enjoy with your tea or pumpkin latte. Very entertaining and fun to read. This story will give you all the feels!

Wilda Firestone is back and still being fuelled by black coffee and sarcasm and wishing she could be back fixing garments and not training a new agent, especially the one agent she has been saddled with, but she reluctantly carries on with the task. She has been bribed by a trip which she has wanted to do for a long time, despite it being ever so slightly against the rules, but first, she has to complete a training mission, but just as Wilda and her clueless protege begin their training, disaster strikes.
Wilda is having the last bit of downtime before she really knuckles down with her annoyingly upstanding trainee, she is sat in her workshop and doing what she does best, repairing a garment when all of a sudden, the store is rocked by an explosion. She immediately springs into action and makes sure her team is ok before she sets them off on tasks to make sure headquarter knows what is happening and that the other people around her are safe, so she goes into the time traveller office next door and tries to see how many people are stuck in the crumbling building.
When she wakes up in a hospital bed and in an oxygen mask, she realises that she must have blacked out in the building, but her first worry is not for herself, but for her team and as soon as she knows that they are safe, she asks about the others around them, but knowing what happened, she is saddened by the news, but when she sees her shop and few days later, she is devastated. Unfortunately, the time travel machine was damaged, so their mission is on hold, but the training goes on, so that when they are be ready to travel as soon as the machine is finished.
When the time for the trip arrives, there is some apprehension as the true nature of the mission and the little she knows about it is revealed, however, when the machine drops them in the wrong place. Wilda is suspicious that something else is going on, but can she figure out what and stop if before all of time unravels and how will she do this while keeping herself and her impulsive trainee alive? This is another brilliantly epic time travelling adventure across country and within the dangerous web of politics and aristocracy, in the engaging tale.

All of these books have been well written and they don’t have to be read in order to understand anything that is happening, although I do highly recommend doing so. Dumpster Dying is the first book in the Hazardous Hoarding Mystery series by Michelle Bennington. It is a fun, madcap, cozy mystery woven around some very interesting, quirky characters. With a whodunnit feel, crime and investigation, humour, drama, emotion, paranormal elements, and more- made this book a very entertaining read. This is the first book that I have read by this author, so I really wasn’t sure of what to expect from her work- but after reading this I will definitely be keeping an eye out for more of her books going forward. Birdie, Walter, and Oda Dean really brought this story to life- and it certainly wouldn’t have been the same without their quirky personalities. Interwoven through the story are also some deeper subject matter- things such as mental health issues, hoarding, grief, loneliness, acceptance, loss of a loved one, and the afterlife. There was a lot more to Birdie than first meets the eye, and that comes down to Ms. Bennington’s ability to cleverly craft complex characters. I felt for Birdie, laughed at the antics- while connecting and investing in her and the outcome of the story. Even though the threads of the story were tied up and the ‘mystery’ solved- I was left feeling like everything ended too abruptly- leaving me a little ‘deflated’. But, I did enjoy the mystery, overall, and am intrigued by what Book #2 might hold. Happy reading…

Threads of Time is the second book in the Toronto Time Agents series by C.N. Jackson (aka-Christy Nicholas). It is another intriguing adventure, with a suspenseful plot, mystery, history, sci-fi elements, time travel, drama, agendas, the paranormal, danger, investigation, banter, witty dialogue, and lots more. We are back with Wilda Firestone whom we met previously in Book #1- She’s a retired Temporal Agent who now runs an outfitters shop for time travellers. Things take a dangerous and complicated turn when a bomb goes off, destroying her shop, as well as the time machine next door. Now Wilda is thrust into a dangerous investigation with a ‘rookie’ as her partner. The stakes are high, and the adventure is wild. I highly recommend reading the first book, Time Tourist Outfitters Ltd (Book #1), before starting on this one, as the first book lays solid foundations and contains important character details/introductions, as well as other important information which will enhance your reading experience of this book. As usual, Ms. Jackson’s wonderful worldbuilding skills are evident- crafting a story that is quite rich and vividly descriptive. The historical elements were really well done- adding an extra element of interest to the overall story. Looking forward to Book #3, ‘Unraveling Brigid’s Veil’! Happy Reading…

I have read all the other books in this series and really enjoyed them. Faking the Fall came at the right time and had such a perfect, lovely fall themed cover that I just needed to scoop it up and start it right away. Each of the books in this series remind me of the movies that are shown on the Hallmark channel. A small town romance, fake dating, a man to aid Alice in making her parents believe she is doing better, and James, a struggling artist, who has found his muse in Alice. I really like how endearing these characters are and how they pull you into their story. You experience their setbacks, melancholy, and humor, happiness, and drama, but you wouldn’t want it any other way because your probably already attached to these characters. Sweet, clean, and fun these romances are good for most ages.

Here I am, back for another visit to Buckeye Falls, Ohio in book number three. Falling Again is a fun, stand-alone, although I do recommend reading the series in order as some of the characters/previous stories overlap, novel concerning the Mayor of Buckeye Falls, and his wife, Natalie, who seem to have it all on the outside but are really struggling on staying connected with each other with all of the stressors of life, work, parenting, etc, they are drifting apart as much as they try to fight it. Will Anthony and Natalie be able to find their way back together again? Libby Kay’s novels are fun, descriptive books that make you laugh, fuss, get a little teary eyed, and have everything people look for in a rom-com. I’ve really enjoyed this series so far and the happy endings are always great!

Falling For You is another book in the Buckeye Falls book series, book number two in fact. It was right up there with the enchanting, comforting, quick reading, stand alone novels, that are all about Buckeye Falls, and it’s population except this one is concerning all things food. CeCe Larue is career minded, and focused, while Evan Lawson is more a fun loving, patient, happy-go-lucky, optimist, he’s also a little younger than CeCe. Unfortunately with the arrival of the food truck competition it brings the arrival of CeCe’s Ex Eric. Will Cece and Evan be able to conquer these hurdles? Libby’s writing is incredibly descriptive so much so you begin to feel like Buckeye Falls is a real place and her characters seem so real. I think many people will enjoy this sweet, clean, rom-com I know one of the authors to pick up.

Jessica Knight literally bumps into Connor O’Brien (aka Saint Con), once priest turned lawyer. Then it turns out Con is missing, and the plot thickens! The chemistry between the main characters added levity to the story and had me easily picturing the story throughout. Though the story was short, the pacing of the story and the way it was written makes the plot really come to life!

Well this had been an interesting and twisted story. Murder at the Wedding, well yes that happened but not in the way I expected going into it. The author brings you on a journey of two sisters trying to solve what happened, while trying to salvage everything about the one sister’s life(since it’s all connected.) What happens when your boss dies at his daughter’s wedding? Was it an innocent mistake? Was it intentional? Who would want him dead? What a tragedy…. Maeve is part of the midwife practice at the current hospital. Which landed her an invite to the biggest event of the season. Her boss’s daughter’s wedding. Besides the fact her husband was the caterer, the event was going by without a hitch. That is till he got up and gave a speech, and never uttered another word. What happened? Why did his epipen not work? Maeve teams up with her sister Meg as they try to figure out what happened. Along the way they come across some interesting twists and turns that point the blame at other people. But which one is it? They wait patiently for the right one to slip up so they can pounce. This journey becomes very personal to Maeve because her husband and job are involved. Will they figure it out? Was the wrong person arrested? The journey the author takes you on keeps you guessing till the very end. If you enjoy a good murder mystery whodunit? And like those books on the shorter end? This book is perfect for you. It’s good and it gives the reader exactly what they are looking for. A cozy murder mystery.

This author writes in such a way that they slowly draw you in and then keep you going until the end. This book wasn’t really my cup of tea but it kept me reading and going because of the rich story of coming of age and the main character trying to figure out who he wants to be. There is a lot of things you can relate to with him. There is a great mixture of finding yourself, love, action, and mystery. If you love westerns, action packed books, or books with a little bit of everything in it with great characters then this is the book for you.

Buckeye Falls, Ohio is a quaint small town where the townsfolk are unique characters that add to each couple’s love story! This is the third book in the series by author Libby Kay. Each of these books can be read as a standalone as they focus on a specific couple, but I’d recommend reading them all as you get to see previous couples in later books and you also get to know the unique individuals that make up this small town. In this story, we focus on Natalie and Anthony, who seem to have a picture-perfect marriage. Though they portray the perfect couple for the town to see, Mayor Anthony and his wife have a major disconnect between them. Can they ever reconnect? I love how marriage was portrayed here as real and with real problems instead of the perfection a lot of books portray. This is a great read and I’m hooked on this clean-cut series and it’s amazing small town.

This was a bitter-sweet story. The novel is written in such a way that the read is immediately drawn in and can’t stop reading until the last word. I love that the author doesn’t shy away from tragedy and the relationships feel so real. I appreciate the two POVs of the main characters, knowing their take on events and seeing the complexity of the situation through their eyes. Though the book itself isn’t that long, the pacing felt natural, though the relationship between the main characters does evolve rather quickly when you think back on it. Regardless, I love their romance and the feeling of healing and resolution I got from their story!

Though not everyone will be able to relate to her story directly, this is a powerful story with reminders that despite the many heartaches and traumas we encounter in life, we may have the opportunity to grow and find ourselves again. The author does a wonderful job developing Devorah’s character and connecting the reader to her story. The writing style is simple, but engaging and effective. If you’re looking for an emotional read with some redemption, look no further!

CeCe and Evan both work at the dinner that Max from the first book owns. This is their love story and boy is it a fun-filled adventure. This is a fun fast read second chance romance that will have you wanting to read more about the people of Buckeye Falls. If you enjoy wonderful humor, great characters, and everyday small town life especially around Christmas then this book is definitely for you. I personally loved seeing how Max and Ginny grew throughout the years since their divorce and how they found their way back into each other’s arms!

Another great addition to the Buckeye Falls series!! Alice needs to get everyone off her back about when she is going to settle down, have kids and figure out what to do with her life. Alice decides to ask James to be her “fake boyfriend”. This story grabbed my heart from the very beginning. Love, love, love it!!

It’s so good, I feel like I could be part of the series living in a small town. Not only do we meet Ginny and Max but several other characters join in the fun of helping with the Christmas Jubilee.

This is the fourth book in the Buckeye Falls Series and though this can be read as a standalone, I’d suggest reading the whole series because you will love getting to know all the characters in this picturesque small town. I love a great fake dating story and believe me, Libby Kay has written an amazing story about Alice and James. She has also captured small town life in such a realistic way that you can’t help but fall in love with this town and these unique characters. This book has become my favorite out of the series! I love how the town thinks they know more of what Alice needs than what she does. As she, the black sheep of the family, comes home in hopes of a restful break, several of the town’s people decide she needs a man and the fun just starts from there!

CeCe came to Buckeye Falls after a bad breakup with her ex boyfriend. She loves cooking, especially making new dishes from time to time when she’s in a good or even a bad mood. She quickly became a part of the diner crew when she stumbled into Buckeye Falls.
Evan is a 25 year old working out what he wants to do with life. He is respectful, optimistic, and patient. You can tell he really cares for CeCe giving her the space to figure out if they might have a connection more than friends.
I really enjoy this small town series! The setting, the people, the community connection that we only find in those special places.
