The fourth book in the Buckeye Falls series and it does not disappoint! Each book can be read as a stand-alone but I recommend reading them in order as many of the characters do appear in the subsequent books. This book is wonderful in so many ways. I found it very hard to put it down and spent most of an afternoon finishing it. Quick, easy to read with well developed plot and characters.

This is an intriguing story about Celtic warriors of this time. This story brings readers a look at the world belonging to The Talisman series. Tracker gives readers the story of Riley and Lynnette. When the two meet their lives are turned upside down. I enjoyed seeing the way these two bonded. The two work well together and it was nice to see them fight for what they know is right. I liked seeing how Lynnette grounds Riley and how together there is nothing that can stop them. Their story is fast paced and has strong characters. The author has woven a world full of magic and emotions and I am interested in seeing what will happen next in it.

This is definitely not your typical love story but it was easy to read and I could barely put it down. I read it in one afternoon. I giggled out loud, cried a couple times, and got a bit of a surprise also(always nice). The character development was also nice to follow and see how it ended.

This is an author that I never hesitate to pick up and have enjoyed every book I have read by this author. I enjoy their writing skills and attention to details that give the story a realistic feel. This book is no different. It is an adventure story that is shorter but sure packs a punch in a short amount of time. I found this book to be well written and a book that I read in one sitting. The characters bring the story to life on each page. They made the story easy and entertaining to read. Their characters are strong, determined and connectable. They took me on an adventure that has a touch of romance. This is a fast paced, engaging story that kept me coming back for more. There is great growth as well as chemistry throughout the story. I really enjoyed this book and I highly recommend it.

Tears Into Gold by Cori Cooper. This is a great fantasy read. Its the story of Branka a orphaned scullery maid who is in love with boy who she knows will never love her back. She is a maid for the Lord and Lady Fitzgerald at their manor. The boy that Branka loves is out of her social class and it would be frowned upon if not forbidden. Since Branka can’t have the boy she loves she wishes for her and Momma Cook’s freedom but when you wish for something it often comes at a price. When Branka makes her wish and becomes a magical being. As this magical being she has powers she never dreamed of. This fun book is a slow burn romance with magic, fantasy and fairy tales all entwined. I read this book in one sitting because I could not put it down!

So.. I have settled on a 3.5-4 star rating for Tracker by Tam Derudder Jackson. Upon picking up this book I was drawn in by the description of the book and the cover but I am unsure what I was actually expecting but it wasn’t what Tracker ended up being. I only found out after reading that this book is a novella and a continuation of another book which was dedicated more to Riley and Lynette which could be why the book felt like it started in the middle of their story and was just a snippet of an event. I believe that I was expecting more old school/adult, more similar to Outlander, but it read more like a young adult/teen novel except for the spicy scenes which were very adult. I’m not saying this was a bad book either. I think now that I have realized what I was getting I enjoyed what I got. This book was a SUPER quick read, like I read it in about 2 hours, and it is quick to get into the action and stays there. It was a wild ride to the end and kept you wondering what was going to happen next. I thought Lynette and Riley were great together and enjoyed how their powers interacted with each other.

This is a new author for me which I enjoyed reading. This is a story that is a little different for me but happy I picked it up. I found this book to be well written and full of inspiration. A story about a young man and his journey through his life. His story is full of hope and determination. It is a fast paced story that is hard to put down. An engaging story that anyone would enjoy reading. This is a great story of one man’s journey. I highly recommend this book.

Almost and Forever is a sad, beautiful, and hopeful love story. “Hope” is a therapist who is looking for love but isn’t having any luck. It was New Year’s Eve when she realized her boyfriend was not her lifelong love. Her boyfriend was working that night and she was making a wish at her favorite fountain when “Hope” started up a conversation with a man and had a weird draw to him. While they did not say much verbally, the chemistry between the two was electric. However, Adam is thinking about proposing to his girlfriend. We come to find out that both of them found a connection, but it provided a different perspective for both of them. Adam is a successful man who ends up lost until a certain woman comes into his life. There are a lot of ups and downs, secrets, sadness, hope, and so much love in this book. I enjoyed everything about it. The characters were amazing. They each were patient, loving, brave, etc. The book moved quickly and was never boring. Things progressed beautifully and I was excited to see where their journey would end.

Logan goes on vacation and brings the family along. Guess what…trouble follows. Again, the author does a fantastic job of thrilling us all with this suspenseful story with twists and turns on the water and during the vacation. The detail she gives is very descriptive and makes you feel like you are there. I just love her stories with the twists and turns. This is another winner.

This is the third book in the Millers of Marietta series following Riley and Mitch. The series can be read as standalones but I highly recommend reading the series in order to gain a better understand of the characters, past events and the relationships between them. Both Riley and Mitch have their share of trauma which shapes them into who they are, and they still experience issues related to this. Riley, a determined single mother, and Mitch a very protective but sweet teacher. Their paths collide and you can’t help but root for them as they both evolve and grow as the story progresses. I love good character development and this book certainly had that and add in the magical holidays and this is a sweet enjoyable read, perfect for Christmas. The writing style was simple and easy to follow and flowed nicely. This added to my enjoyment of the story, especially when wrapped up in front of the fireplace. I want more from the beautiful world the author has created so I think I’ll be doing a re-read of the series closer to Christmas to immerse myself once again.

This story is heartbreaking and sweet and so full of love and understanding. I love the way this author writes a flawed character in Adam. He may be a tough guy but he’s human and real. With real feelings and problems. I love that he finds himself at rock bottom and is able to rescue himself by asking for help. I love that he has “Hope”. Being a romantic at heart myself I believe everyone should have hope.

The Man in Black by L.R. Liverpool – Review by Jessica Stone
So to start off this review I will say I have literally NEVER read a western book, but I adore western movies, and that’s what this author did with this book. Reading it was like watching a western film. This author managed to do it all, a little western action, some mystery and intrigue, romance and a little slice of life.
I was thoroughly impressed with this book, the world building and character building that was takes place in this book was done in such a way that rather than be confused of overwhelmed with so much information it all flows together cohesively. I will admit I started out slow it took a good 12 chapters for me to get deep in, but by the time I realized this book had me enthralled I was 5 hours deep.
I enjoyed the down to earth quality’s of the main character “Simon”, I felt myself relating to his questions about what life is supposed to be and the monotony of everyday repetition in a comfortable situation, wondering and knowing more adventure and just, life is out there waiting for me/him/us. He’s a very deep, thoughtful character and listening to his thoughts and worry’s was enthralling.
The romance was soooo good, not too thick and over consuming as some books are and the build and relationship growth to the romance makes it feel very authentic and not rushed, so that was very refreshing, this romance in general was just wonderfully refreshing. I also thoroughly enjoyed the mystery that this author threw in, the kinda of “who done it”, feeling is one of my favorite parts. The intrigue of not knowing who or what is causing these murders, while the main characters navigating this new life, and love and realizing that life can be much more complicated and wild then even he had imagined.
Well if I keep going with my review I might rival this book as far as length goes, but in all seriousness, I highly recommend giving this book a shot, don’t give up, because it does get VERY good. Well done L.R Liverpool! I look forward to digesting more of your work!

This is the sixth book in the Karina Cardinal Mysteries series. The books can be read as standalones, but I would recommend reading them in order to understand the characters better. This is once again a fun mystery with great characters which sucked me in so well! The author’s writing style flowed well and was easy to follow while the plot was unique, fun and engaging. We even get a bit of spook in perfect timing to read for Halloween. The lovable Karina is back, still strong, independent and determined, just some of the many things that make me fall in love with her in every book. As usual, trouble seems to find Karina all too easily; when something isn’t right, she can’t help but investigate. The large group dynamic is different with everyone involved, but still great fun and in a way better as the relationships and interactions are more entertaining. This one is definitely one of my favourites of the series, and I’m really hoping for more book in the series soon to feed my obsession!

As per usual in this series, I was gripped beginning to end. I was immersed in the story, living the adventures alongside Karina as the story progressed. The writing flowed nicely and was easy to follow, increasing the enjoyment for me. Once again the lovable Karina put herself in harms way to solve the case, especially now her ex is being accused of something she can’t believe. She’s strong and determined and I love that about her. I adore this series, it’s especially perfect for this time of year, curling up in front of the fire!

What a web we weave! I loved this one and the lies, deception and trouble. Oh, this author has such a way of writing that just grabs me with every book. So very thrilling that I just cannot put it down. She starts her books off with straight action and mystery. The story has a nice flow with twists and turns. This story has some flashbacks that take you from the wayback right up to now. I loved the plot of this one and trying to figure out the culprit. Logan is one of my favorite sleuths. A winner in my book.

I enjoy the flow of the author’s writing, it’s easy to follow and moves the story along nicely. It’s easy to step into the world the author creates and live the mystery alongside the characters. Karina and her sister, Jillian, join forces in this instalment which was a fresh dynamic to the series. Karina remains my favourite character in the series, strong independent and determined. Getting herself into trouble in her investigations seems to come so naturally to her and I love it. The twists and turns are great, gripping you further and further as the story progresses. I was sad to be getting through the books as quickly as I was as the series quickly joined my favourites.

i loved Riley and Mitch’s story. Mitch was so grumpy in the other story. This was a sweet story. I loved watching the relationship develop. Seeing these two develop made my heart smile. It was nice to see familiar characters. I have always loved the characters in this series. They have grown so much. This is a story you must read. Go ahead and read the whole series, you won’t be sorry.

This is the second book in the Karina Cardinal Mysteries series. This can be read as a standalone, but I highly recommend reading the first book to get a deeper understanding of the characters. The plot is once again engaging and gripping, this time Karina finds herself a person of interest in a murder. We’re also reintroduced to FBI agent Mike who is put on the case. There were so many twists, I loved it. The strong and independent Karina decides to start investigating herself before she becomes an official suspect. I fell even more in love with Karina in this book, she’s strong, determined and lovable. When you think about someone in politics, you don’t normally picture the lovable Karina. I love this series, I’m obsessed! Onto the next!

This was such a fun and easy to read enemies to lovers office romance! This is a trope that I generally enjoy and this one definitely delivered on my expectations. This story sucks you in from the opening sentences where we meet Lindy who has a dream of being a fashion designer. The only thing standing in her way is Cade Kinglsey, who is her boss. It is clear that this working relationship is going to be anything but fun. However, beneath his prickly facade a lot is hiding and that’s where the fun really begins. I truly enjoyed the characters in this story. Lindy is well developed and she truly just comes to life off of the page. She is a strong female lead, but it isn’t over the top or in your face, it just comes across as a driven individual who is working toward a dream. Cade was also a very interesting character and I’ll be honest I had very mixed feelings about him, but he definitely kept the story interesting. I definitely recommend picking up this quick and fun read!

This is the first book in what has begun as a great series, the Karina Cardinal Mysteries series. I loved this introduction to Karina and the storyline was brilliant! It doesn’t hurt that this is a cosy mystery which is one of my absolute favourite types of books (perfect for a autumn night by the fire). I enjoyed the writing style of the author; it flowed well and was easy to follow and the links to true events made it feel even more real. I was lost in the storyline almost instantly – it felt unique, and I couldn’t bring myself to put it down. I also liked the section which explained more about the actual crime which this book includes, I find true crime fascinating and having this insight was a brilliant addition. The characters were great, fun and interesting. I loved Karina, she felt so real, and lovable and strong. Despite the danger, she was determined and came out the other side stronger than ever. I loved this book so much and had to move onto the next immediately!

Vanishing Day is Valerie Davisson’s take on what is a familiar plot. It is one I have seen before, an abuse victim on the run from their abuser. However, I have not seen this plot as skillfully crafted as that by Valerie Davisson. She takes a character I already love, Logan Mckenna, and gives her to this hard, yet common, topic and just really lets her writing take center stage. This book was so hard to put down and I just wanted to see justice prevail from the beginning to the end. Valerie’s true talent is in her character development. She takes a well loved character and just continues to develop her through each book. She then gives her new characters and plots that just help her to show her positives and her flaws. She makes Logan seem like an amazing friend throughout the story. I absolutely love this story and will be anxiously awaiting my next Logan McKenna read!

This is a fun, standalone, contemporary romance. This book was written in multiple POV, which I personally love because I feel it gives the story a lot more depth than if it was written in only one. It lets us get to know each of the characters on a more intimate level and get to know their innermost thoughts and feelings. It also helps them to gain your attention. The author is fantastic at writing believable storylines that really transport you into the middle of it. This is a fantastic story about what happens when friendship and love mix. I definitely recommend picking it up for a fun book to read when you need one! It won’t disappoint!

i really found this to be quite the romantic suspense. It is intense, powerful and our female protagonist really had to take on a big role. I found the writing quite engaging and intriguing. I was ulled in right from the start. You jump right on in and devour this story. The characters are relatable yet so powerfully written. In this book we are introduced to Logan McKenna. Her entire life seems to be falling apart. She recently lost her husband in a car accident. She sells the business that she had build with her husband and becomes a teacher. She then is accused of helping her students cheat because they are doing so well on standardized tests. This means that her job is on the line. She decides to move to the beach in SoCal. Near a very important part of her life of her childhood – the Otter Arts Festival. She decides that she will reconnect with her old friends and just relax and figure out her next steps. Well this is until a body is found and her friend is a person of interest. This gives Logan something to do other than think about everything that has been going wrong in her life recently. I LOVED this story. I loved Logan as a character and all the chaos that she has been through. I feel that it made her even more likable. I loved the aspect of glass blowing as this is an art that has literally always been of interest to me. I loved everything about this book and I cannot wait to see more of Logan McKenna.

Oh, this is such a sweet fur baby romance. They meet when she’s trying to catch a stray. They come from two different worlds and the story builds from their. It’s really a darling romance that will melt your heart. A very cute story helps too, who doesn’t love puppies? It’s a quick romantic read that’s quite entertaining. Several times I was chuckling and my husband asked why. I love explaining books like this to him. The characters are written so well that you feel like you know them. This is a story you should read.

This was a fantastic book. This is the second book by Valerie Davisson that I have read as well as the second Logan McKenna book I have read. Each one has been absolutely fantastic. It contains fantastic thriller and mystery elements as well as elements of Women’s Fiction. Valerie Davisson crafts fantastic novels that read quickly and contain a fantastic amount of character development. This book looks ast two stories that surround a mysterious explosion. The first plot line looks at a the Vietnamese family who’s food truck was involved in the explosion. The second looks at a Vietnam vet who is struggling deeply with PTSD. Additionally we have Logan who is involved after witnessing this explosion. This book is absolutely amazing and I cannot wait to continue reading this series. I enjoy Logan McKenna as a protagonist and am loving her development from book to book thus far.

This was such a lovely story – I loved it and was completely hooked from beginning to end. It didn’t take me long to fall in love with the main characters, they were both so warm and likeable. I really liked the storyline it was easy to follow and the authors lovely writing style was a pleasure to read. I loved Wynter, she really was such a lovely person, she had a warm heart and her passion in life was encouraging people to donate to worthy causes. I really thought that Caleb was going to be you r typical playboy but I could tell as soon as he met Wynter she was the one for him! This really was a lovely read and one that I would highly recommend!

This is another fun children’s story from this author. This is a retelling of Beauty and the Beast with a fun alien twist. As usual, the kids loved the colourful pictures and the aliens! The story was interactive and kept the kids engaged. There are always learning opportunities in the author’s books, and this is no different. Topics are covered in a fun wat for the kids to understand and enjoy.

This is the third book in the McIntire County series, this can be read as a standalone but to get a deeper understand of the characters and past events which link them, I would recommend reading from book 1. In this instalment we followed Jolie and Xavier. As with the previous books in the series, the writing style is easy to follow and the descriptive language pulls you into the story, allowing you to picture both characters and scenery. I found the characters of Jolie and Xavier particularly interesting; their pasts were what interested me most and how this affected them. Jolie, a new deputy in charge of finding a missing girl, faces the pressure from her family and what makes her different and intriguing to me. It’s not just the usual pressures, her brother is a killer and the effect of this on her was shown quite well, I think. She’s determined and continues looking into the case and the new elements despite being given the ‘easy’ answers. I enjoyed her character development as she reminded me a little of myself in being unsure of herself, but her confidence grows, and you can see her really coming into her own. She’s one of my favourites so far. I look forward to the next one!
