This isn’t the first book I’ve read by the author. Huntress is a great book. Either it was a fast paced book or I was reading fast. I didn’t want this to end. The author sure knows how to keep a reader happy. This book has a bit of everything that you would normally need a couple books for.
Dior is the nickname of someone who is going to get revenge on the Wolves. Not a smart move, but she’s doing it for her family. For the brother she never got to meet. For the uncle that was killed. She doesn’t need a knife or gun to get her revenge. Writing is her weapon and she’s going to make them pay. The quote I chose for Dior is: “Nah, I don’t feel good singing with anyone else. It’s not the same; I miss Todd and the others.”
Gemma is battling the demons from her past as she tries to find a footing in her future. Her attraction to Shep, a street racer, puts her eerily close to a lifestyle from which she is trying to break free. As the new MC starts to feel like family to Gemma, she finds herself in difficult situations. Gemma finds a true support and partner in Doc. Doc is there through hellish episodes, cementing his place in Gemma’s life.
This book moves at lightning speed. It gets a little confusing at times when they don’t discuss the time jump but as the story moves along, you can figure out the timing. It is hard to believe Gemma makes it through so much in this book and, as her history is revealed, in life. Gemma is strength and resilience. Hopefully Doc is her HEA.
This book contains depictions of assault and rape. Do not read if you find yourself triggered by those topics.

The new stories of the frightening ways love can manifest are interspersed with haunting love poems. Each tale takes you to the edge of your seat. Will strangers risk everything for each other? Does true love last through the centuries? Can beings see past their differences or long-held beliefs to find true love?
One of the stories that had me gripping my pillow was Reflections of the Past by Melody Calder. Mary’s story started with feeling out of place where she should have felt at home. The chances Mary took to find belonging led her to real love. When everything in Mary’s world is destroyed, she finds a way to get her revenge. Sins of the past haunt Lia in ways she doesn’t even know yet as Mary’s vengeance collides with Lia’s heart. With Lia’s understanding, Mary is finally able to find peace.
The other story that caused my pillow distress was Runes and Fangs by Victoria Larque. Kayla has every reason to hate after what she has gone through. Minette should feel the same way but doesn’t let her light fade because of the actions of others. When Kayla first meets Minette, Minette should cower but doesn’t. Minette finds it within herself to be strong. Kayla should despise Minette but can’t seem to feel anything other than protective. Together, they seem to be able to accomplish the impossible while finding love.

This book was hard for me to rate, so my review will reflect that. I am a fan of dark romance and other dark readings, so that is also reflected here.
3.75 rounded up.
The good: I did enjoyed the overall story of this book, and reading about Gem’s evolution into Rage (the Motorcycle Club) and the glimpses of her backstory and how she came to be when she met Shep. Gem does get her HEA with her man, and I thoroughly enjoyed reading about her building that relationship and allowing it to thrive. I also really enjoyed the street racing aspect and the adrenaline that came from reading those scenes.
The so-so: I feel like some of the flashbacks would have in fact been better placed sooner in the books, especially some of Gem’s flashbacks to her time with the Hawks. (That transition in the book seemed to be thrust on us out of nowhere.) I felt like there wasn’t enough time to recover from her trauma in the flashbacks to then jumping into the contemporary trauma she was experiencing. Normally when I read a dark series I like to read about characters who, despite their trauma, are strong and willing to fight back, and while Gem does, it’s done in a way that leaves me left wanting. I found the romance aspect of this book lacking as well as there was almost no actual sex scenes that occurred, were just told there was sex between the characters, or that it was good or the best sex of Gem’s life, and then the only real description of a sex scene is traumatic for the character.
Disclaimer: I have not read the other books in the series, and by this book I don’t think I will. This book is not the first I’ve read by this author, so when I saw it and the synopsis I was excited; however it fell flat for me. This book was originally published in 2013, making it 9 years old at the time of this review, and the author’s writing has come a long way since. I just couldn’t get behind the writing here. It’s definitely a case of telling, not showing. I also felt that it wasn’t the smoothest in its transitions from one situation to the next.
Cw: drug use, violence against women, domestic violence, detailed description of fist fighting, sexual and nonsexual assault, active rape, motor cycle club culture.

Road Rage (Outlaw Series Book 4) by Karina Kantas 3 Stars
Gem used to be with the MC Hawks with whom she has a violent past but after leading a quiet life for a couple of years, she yearns for the adrenaline rush again. After joining Rage, she realizes that this MCis not so different from the last. This is an MC romantic suspense story. It involves some danger, drama and betrayal. I love MC stories and I had never read a book by this author before so I was excited to pick this one up.
It’s very different from the usual ones that I read. First off, it’s about a motorcycle gang with speed bikes and racing, not Harleys. Second, the main character is a tough as nails female, which was nice. Although part of a series, it can be read as a stand-alone. My issue with the book is that I felt that there could have been more development with the relationships between the characters. It seemed as though the author wanted to tell a story but skimmed over all the details, there was no depth. I couldn’t connect to the characters. It could be because I hadn’t read the other books in the series so that could be my fault. Most of the time I didn’t know how much time had passed between events; days, weeks? It is a fast paced story which I find the author had to squeeze within a limit of pages.

This is the fourth instalment of the series. I enjoyed this book. Gemma has had a very hard life and now is enduring more pain but to what cost. Sometimes club life can not be what she expected to and sometimes it’s more. Things are looking well when she meets Shep and is introduced into the world of a motorcycle club. This motorcycle club is called Rage. There are so many twists and turns in this story, which is unexpected. Gem is a strong woman and nothing keeps her down. This is an example of a gritty motorcycle club book.

This book had me engaged from beginning to end. Gem is a strong female lead and its very much needed in an MC world. I was hanging on for this ride to see what would happen next as it was full of action and I loved every minute of it. I cannot wait to read more!

This book is an emotional roller coaster. You are going to need some tissues and a strong stomach to make it through. It is an amazing book, I highly recommend reading it if you don’t have any triggers. There is a lot of abrasive scenes played out through the whole book. That aside the story line of this book is amazing. It kept me turning the page and reading as fast as I could through the whole book. I couldn’t put it down, I had to know what happened next. There is huge character development for the leading lady in this story. She is a bada$$ with an amazing will to survive the crap life has dealt her. There are times you will want to smack her but seriously who makes the best decisions all the time. Having a book be able to pull that type of emotion out of the reader is a true testament as to how well it is written. I highly recommend this book as an escape from reality.

This is the first book that I have read by this author, and I was HOOKED! Gem came from a dark and checkered past, and while trying to keep a low profile, she finds herself in the same situation that she once was. Gem ends up meeting Shep and while she thinks he is good for her she soon finds out that he is not who he seems. This book had many twists and turns and had me on the edge of my seat in anticipation of what was to come next. The author did an amazing job telling their story and I cannot wait to read the other books in this series!!

Gem is a badass woman who makes you feel a lot of emotions for her. She got out of a situation and strives not to become that way again. She meets a hot guy and things progress. Gem finds herself in situations that she has to fight to get out of again but in doing so she finds what might be the love of her life potentially. There are situations that Gem is thrust into that she has to work to get out of. This author is a phenom with issues that seem so believable and that you are with Gem. There are some difficult things that Gem goes through be prepared for anything is her motto.

This is the fourth book of the series but can be read as a standalone. There was a lot to unpack with this book but once you get sucked in you can’t help but keep reading! I couldn’t put it down.
Gem hasn’t had it easy but now she’s playing it safe. That is until she meets Shep and his MC. Everything is fine until it starts taking a turn for the worst. So much happens, it was hard to keep straight at first but you definitely get sucked in and have to keep reading to see how it plays out.
Gem is a great character. She is tough and you can’t help but root for her and her happiness. She’s an easy character to relate to. There are some tough subjects that are broached but I think the author did a very good job touching on them. I am definitely going to have to read the other books in the series.

Please read the trigger warnings before reading this book!
Road Rage is a very quick read! Gem is a strong lead female through out the book, she holds her own and takes no shit from anyone but her past has caused her to be this tough woman. She wasn’t given much of a choice to be what’s she has become. You get a look into her past, the pain and trauma she has been through while watching her open up to her love of racing. I do wish the books were longer, I felt there was so much opportunity for more character development and more details to the story but it’s still good as it.

The first thing that I want to say about his book is, that although the author states that it is for 18+ in the blurb, I think it should come with a warning that it contains non-consensual sex as this could be a trigger for some. I know that MC books tend to be violent and most readers would anticipate this, I still think that a warning is required for non-consensual sex. It took me a while to get into this book. I don’t think it’s anything that the author did. I have read many MC books but about 95% of those are all by the same author and this book was very different (but not in a bad way). Once I got into the book, I was gripped by the storyline and did really enjoy the book. The author has done a great job in writing the characters. Some are very likeable and others I really did not like, but I’m sure that’s what the author had in mind. The main character, Gem, is a fascinating character and I could have read so much about her, especially her past which I think would be an explosive read. I really did enjoy this book and I’d definitely recommend it to others to read.

When Gem gets the attention from a hot guy while she’s working, she is flattered and excited to maybe try this dating thing again. When she finds out he is a member of the local MC, she is hoping this time will be different than the last. She learns quickly that it isn’t. She is quickly involved in a world of bike racing, sex, violence, and having to prove herself time and time again. Is this the life she wants? Or is it time to walk away, again, and start over?
This book pulls you in from the beginning and does not let you go. There is so much action and there never feels like there is a moment of calm. Gem is a strong lead character with a backstory that will break your heart…all while reinforcing how strong and resilient she is. Doc is such a good character that I found myself getting attached to pretty quickly. Overall, a really good story that had my attention from beginning to end.

Motorcycle clubs are a tough life choice for women apparently. I know nothing about motorcycles, but the bikes described sounded extreme. Gemma made bad choices and had a lot of bad things happen to her. Yet, she’s still kind hearted, has a strong will and is protective of her loved ones. I’m so happy she was able to finally find someone to help her get through it and give her a happy ending.

A extremely fast paced MC romance. Emotional and intense, this book gave me more then I was expecting – MC romances can go either way for me, but I really felt the author delivered. Action, Romance, Drama, Chemistry, Suspense makes for a great read. Overall, well written and I would definitely recommend.

Road Rage is the fourth book in the OUTLAW series by Karina Kantas. This is a story full of tension and intrigue, woven through a dark MC romantic suspense that had me wondering about the outcome right from the beginning. This isn’t my first book from Ms. Kantas, but it is probably my favourite, so far. With intensity, emotion, interesting characters and storyline, a fast pace, MC politics, danger, violence, drama, chemistry, spice, betrayal, and more- this book made for a bit of a thrill-ride! There were moments where the story slowed down or lagged a bit, and parts where I would have like to have seen just a little more detail and development- but this didn’t detract too much from my overall enjoyment of the story. Happy Reading!

A high-octane story with lots of danger and excitement. Gemma is unable to resist the siren call of the hot new MC, Rage. She loves to drive fast and live large, and protection and respect that comes with being a member of a powerful brotherhood. The motorcycle races that the club sets up for her are thrilling, and leave her breathless for more. But as the stakes get higher, and emotions run high, Gemma’s increasingly angry and risky driving puts her in danger. She’s also gained an enemy or two who want to see her dead. Will the club be the family she is seeking, and be able to stop those who wish her harm?
This story is fast-paced, exciting, and action-heavy. I found it to be well-written, and easy to imagine myself in the thick of the action. I was a bit disturbed by some of the violence, particularly towards Gemma, and the sexual expectations that some people had of her being a woman in that world. However, she is a strong character, and navigated these with aplomb. A gritty, dangerous read.

I really enjoyed this book. The story begins with Gemma and what she had to endure and survive during her time with the Hawks. She has found a new MC she wasn’t looking for and finds herself racing bikes again. Will this MC be different from the past? Time will tell.
She is very tight lipped and doesn’t speak of her past very often at all. As you read through the story you will know why. She appears strong with a very angry chip on her shoulder. This story will take you on a wild ride and leave you in tears at some points. This book will keep you on the edge of your seat trying to anticipate what is going to happen. If you are anything like me, you may even yell at the book from time to time. Trigger warning for this book.

Gemma has gotten herself in a jam. If MC books with a bit of violence and rough sex are a hair much for you, you can avoid this book. If you like spice, action and page-turners, this one is for you. Gemma is working at the local grocery store. She falls for the hot racer/biker. She falls in with the gang. The plot is action packed with twists and turns. There is romance for her but it won’t come until you least expect it. The characters have tough personalities, which is what you want in an MC romance. This book had me on edge. It is part of a series but it is a stand alone. Hot mama! Definitely recommend it (not just for the spice. There is a good lesson learned in the story. I would give it more than a 5 if I could.

It has been far too long since I have read a story with a strong a female lead as there is in this book. For me she really does takeover the whole story and stands out. There seems go be a lot that goes on in this story, sometimes to the point where it would almost feel like too much, but then the author would pull it all back in again. I thought it was well written and that the author knew exactly what feel they were going for. This is a great book that I would recommend.

It’s been a while since I read a good biker book and this was a brilliant read I enjoyed it so much I read it in one hit. I haven’t read the rest of the series but you don’t need to it can be read as standalone but I will definitely be going back to read the other 3. Gem is a great female lead she is strong and confident although had a bad past with a biker gang when she meets Shep who she is immediately drawn too but theres a problem he is also in a biker gang can she get over this when she vowed to never be associated with an MC again.

I had so many mixed emotions with this story. I actually had started it and found myself just feeling overwhelmed and stopped. Ok now this isn’t a bashing review just hang with me real quick. This story had so much going on and in the beginning it seemed just super rushed and a jumble of stuff going on. You may feel the same but please listen to this next part! Keep reading because this author is about to blow you away with a story you can’t miss. Gem is a character that absolutely stole my whole heart with her kick butt attitude and her loyalty to those important to her. This book definitely has some difficult subjects but the author puts a lot of feeling into them. Connecting with the characters was so easy. Again please if you feel it’s rushed and a lot going on push on it’s so very worth it! If I could give more than five stars I would! Highly recommended!

I had no trouble reading this book without reading the rest in the series. However, some things like the pacing felt slightly off. We jumped into the action slowed down then jumped back into action again. It didn’t feel like there was a curve more like a start and stop.
However, I still really loved the storyline and the strong female character in this story was really well written. Honestly, I would like to try more books from this author to get really get a feel for her work as it feels like she has more to give than what we could grasp in this book.

This book was a very quick read and very action packed. A LOT happens with the main character. Gemma is definitely a strong woman to endure everything that has happened to her. I love a good MC Club book so gave this one a chance. The timeline jumps around a bit so it is kind of confusing as to where/when something happened. If you are looking for a quick read this book is for you.

5 Star Road Rage (Outlaw Series Book 4) by Katrina Kantas
Road Rage is the fourth book in the Outlaw Series and can be read as a standalone. This is a MC that once you start reading you will find yourself lost in the pages and won’t be able to put it down until you’ve finished. I’m a huge fan of this author and I’ve read other books by this one is my favorite by far. It’s everything you expect from an MC and more. This is about Gem and Shep (from Rage). She’s ’s got experience with MC’s as she used to be in one. Now she’s trying to move forward from the past but now finds herself in a situation. Shep is a rider and is part of Rage a local MC. These two meet at a local grocery store where Gem currently works. There is definitely chemistry between and both have secrets. Can she survive another MC? There’s plenty of action going on and the twists and turns had me on the edge of my seat. I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. It’s definitely worth the time. I look forward to reading more from this Author.

Gem is such a strong, amazing woman. She doesn’t take crap from anyone, she’s tenacious and she isn’t afraid to go after what she wants. She’s been through so much in life, but she doesn’t let that steal away thoughts of a happily ever after for her. Shep introduces her to Rage but she knows from the beginning that he isn’t forever, he’s just for right now. There is betrayal and violence in this story that I didn’t see coming but Gem is a strong woman and she doesn’t let life keep her down for long. She keeps getting knocked down but always drags herself back up and she manages to truly find herself and her destiny along the way. This is a book with a lot of violence, but it also has some beautiful heart melting moments as well. You definitely won’t want to miss this one if you enjoy MC romances.

This is my first book by this author/series, and I wasn’t disappointed. I love MC books and would recommend this book. I will definitely be going back to read the rest of this series. I was sucked into the story from the beginning and was hooked all the way through. This book had action, great character chemistry, romance, mixed in with a few twists and turns. If you like MC books, then this is the book for you.
