What an unexpected change of genre for this author, and I can say I am not in any way left wanting. This well written book has emotions twists and turns that were unexpected but rivitting.
This romance follows Dorian and Augustine who are brought together though a twist of fate, they meet after an accident, there is chemistry and deeper feelings are discovered but they are both in relationships so decide to part ways, only to be reintroduced by their wives. The chemistry has not lessened. Will they follow their hearts or once again part ways.
This author is quickly becoming one of my favorites. I have read other books by her, mainly her fantasy book. The Husbands was a quick read with only 126 pages but it didn’t skimp on any details. She still gives us well rounded and well developed characters. Augustine and Dorian met when an assassin makes a mistake. Over a short period of time they developed some intense feelings but they love their wives and know it cannot go any further. Several years later their wives have a chance encounter and become friends, which in turn leads to the men meeting again. Will they admit what they once had or continue on like they never had a meaningful relationship?

I have read other books by this author and they were amazing. Going into this book I wasn’t sure what to expect because it’s a different genre than what I’m used to reading from this author. I’m so glad I took a chance on reading this one because it was even better than I could have imagined. There is love, romance, betrayal, forgiveness, danger, twists and turns, and great characters. This was a quick read but full of emotions. While I was reading this story I found myself completely invested in the outcome of the characters, will love be able to overcome the hurt? I wanted Dorian and Augustine to be happy but I also wanted their wives to be happy because I know they loved their wives so much. It’s a tough position that they found themselves in. I think some of the situations they found themselves in were handled maturely. I thought this was a great read and I can’t say enough good things about this book. I highly recommend this book.

This was a cute little love story. I always enjoy a good love story and this one hit the spot. It had the romance of finding love and then a problem that seems like it will end the relationship. I enjoyed reading how Dorian and Augustine finally were able to work together and find happiness. I enjoy reading novels by this author and have liked everything I have read by her.

I love love LOVE this authors books! I love her style of writing and her imagination. I believe this is my first book by this author that is not paranormal. This is more of a romance filled with suspense and danger! This story shows how one little thing can alter multiple lives forever. Is it in a good way, or bad?
She absolutely nailed this category too. This story was unlike any that I have read before. I thoroughly enjoyed it. If you have not picked up a book by Naomi Valkyrie, what are you waiting for? I fly through her books every time, finding myself having a really hard time putting them down.

Having read multiple books by author Naomi Valkyrie, I’d say she has done it again. Another fantastic book that I made quick work of, finishing in no time. Although not my usual trope, the love story of Dorian and Augustine made me forfeit all about that. This book had me on an emotional up and downs. From laughter to tears I was really waiting til the end to finally see if that got their HEA. I mean it was fated to be because what were the chances of their wives becoming quick friends lol. It has forbidden love ,suspense, drama and romance/polyamory. You will totally love it. I definitely recommend reading this 100% hands down . The more the merrier right? lmao

The Husbands by Naomi Valkyrie. This is such a good read. Its fairly short but it packs a big punch. Its the story of Dorian who is a married assassin and he’s really good at his job. One night in Miami he is set to take a kill shot and someone walks in front of him and is accidentally hit. His name is Augustine and he is so shocked. Being in the wrong place at the wrong time is Augustine’s life story. He ends up in the hospital and Dorian who takes on odd jobs at different time is assigned as Augustine’s physical therapist. Spending so much time together even thought they are both married to women they realize there is a real chemistry between them. Years later their wives become friends and they are thrown together again. While their wives become best friends they are together more and more and the feelings come racing back. Not being able to hide it the wives are bound to find out. What will happen when it does come out? Will their marriages survive or will they finally take a chance on being together?

The Husbands by Naomi Valkyrie – Review by Rita White

Wow! I have read this authors paranormal books and didn’t know what to expect from this book but wow she knocked it out of the park! It’s strange how you can be madly in love with your wife and on an accident you fall for the opposite sex. You can actually feel the love both of these men have for their wives but the attraction they have for each other can’t be tamed. There is love, romance, assassin’s, art, writing, money, intrigue and absolute love for all feelings concerned. If you’ve read some of her other books or not, pick this one up, you won’t be disappointed.

I never pass up a book by this author, so I immediately grabbed this upon coming across it. Although most of their books have been more of a paranormal romance, they still knocked this romantic suspense out of the park. I truly enjoyed the inclusion of everyone and the character development. It’s a pretty quick read, but that doesn’t mean the author skimped on any details. This book does not skip any details or have any plot holes anywhere! I absolutely adore all of the characters and feel like each of their relationships are wonderful. If you’re ready for an adventure that has chemistry leaping off the pages while it twists and turns, please don’t pass this one up. I can’t wait to see what this author has in store for us next!

This is an interesting start to the Life is Hell series. Delilah needs a vacation and she goes to Juniper Lake thinking that the small town will be a nice break, little does she know what is in store for her there. This vacation comes with a plethora of paranormal beings and one sexy sheriff.
I enjoyed meeting Delilah and being along for the adventure that is her vacation. There is more than one surprise for Delilah in this little town. I loved that Delilah is a strong woman who can stand on her own and is more than ready to fight for what is right. Her story moves at a good pace and is full of engaging characters. The author has created a delightful little town with interesting characters that pull you into their adventures and have you eager to return for more.

Owning a bar and living in the city thou she rents out a cabin on the lake to take sometime away from it all, but boy did she have that wrong, take a trip with Deliah no nonsense attitude and find out why the things that were happening well were happening. This author is one that I never hesitate to pick up! Every single time I read one of their books, I am always blown away. I was beyond excited to start this series and after I’ve finished this book, I am running to pick up the next! Delilah has no time for anyone’s drama and has the feel of ‘take me as I am’ which I LOVED. Malakhi is the sheriff and may have some chemistry pop on the pages with Delilah. Both of them felt incredibly relatable, and the flow of the story is marvelous! This was such an entertaining experience as I was completely immersed in this world once I began reading. If you’re looking for an action-packed, polyamorous, LGBTQ paranormal romance, this has to be your next book! I’ll give you a tip – clear your afternoon because once you start this book, there’s no putting it down. I highly recommend picking up this one as I’m running to buy the second in the series!

No Rest for the Wicked (Life is Hell Series) by Naomi Valkyrie . This book was an amazing start to this series! I love this author so I wasn’t surprised but wow. Its the story of Delilah who is a demon who gets revenge on cheaters. She is burned out and needs a change of pace so she heads to Juniper Lake where she thinks it will be quiet and calm, of course that is not what she finds. The sheriff Malakahi has been sheriff in Juniper Lake for a few years now and he is so tried of trying to hide the fact that he is not human. Delilah keeps getting the sense of a spell coming on and somehow gets bonded to a trio of witches. She also keeps getting a pull toward the sheriff and she knows that won’t work out. Will Malakahi find out that Delilah is a demon before she can get done what she needs to? Seems like the sheriff is everywhere Delilah shows up. She also has the witches to deal with. She came here wanting a break and she is not getting that at all. Such a fun, fast paced paranormal romance.

No Rest for the Wicked is Book One in the Life is Hell Series. It is a polyamorous paranormal romance with action, drama, suspense, mystery, danger, passion, magic, demons, demon hunters, witches, and shifters. The story centers around the MC Delilah, a demon who has been hunting adulterers for as long as she can remember. She used to enjoy it but now she finds herself bored and in need of a break. Delilah decides she needs a holiday, so she drives until she finds a quaint little town called Juniper Lake. She figures this is just the quiet little place where she can relax and recharge but instead finds herself wrapped up in a mystery that will put her to the ultimate test. This was a fast-paced and intriguing read full of twists and turns that kept me hooked until the very end. This is one of my favorite authors because of her unique writing style and way of weaving a story that never fails to deliver. She always has interesting characters that fascinate me with their quirks and multi faceted personalities. Delilah is yet another of those characters that I loved because of her feisty attitude, strength, determination, and witty sense of humor. Oh, and let’s not forget the amazing cover on this book, wow! Anxious to read the next book in this series!

Burn out in need of a vacation turns into a messy mystery. Truly one of my all-time favorite authors I take every chance I am given to read one of Naomi Valkyrie’s books and they never disappoint. Book one of the Life is Hell series gives us a bang of an introduction to this tiny world with big secrets hiding in the shadows. Dual perspectives of Delilah and Malakhi this book takes you on a mystery from two different sides.
Delilah is essentially a vengeance demon that gets revenge on cheating partners. Two hundred years ago that’s what she sold her soul to do for herself when her boyfriend cheated on her. Life in the big city has become too much and she is in dire need of a vacation and after three days of driving she finds a tiny town in the middle of nowhere, Juniper Lake. Sheriff Malakhi has been in Juniper Lake for five years, and after pretending to be human for so long he has forgotten how to research the paranormal way. Summoning circles, a murdered demon hunter and the intriguing Delilah have his head spinning on how they are all connected. Mortified with herself that she fell for a trap Delilah has no choice but to follow the orders the trio of witches give her, no matter how much she doesn’t want to. No rest for the wicked irks her as during the day she tries to find ways to free herself of their binding and reclaim her freedom from them. Thanks to an old journal she discovers that the unassuming little town has a history with demons but how and why.
Can Delilah free herself before Malakhi figures out who she is? Will she give into her attraction to Malakhi? What life could she have in Juniper Lake if she gave in to the urge to move there? The author never skimps on the details and this book is no different. Instantly sucked into the world as you devour the pages in search of answers with Delilah and Malakhi. Both intriguing characters as they have lived far longer than they look and after such mundane lives they have a spark of interest and curiosity in each other that despite trying to fight it sometimes they can’t help but be drawn to each other. I am trapped in this world but it’s in a good way. Can’t wait to jump into book two in the Life is Hell series, Hell Hath No Fury, and learn more about Sheridan. Delilah’s friend that looks after the bar during her vacation. I’ll see you there.

This is the first book in Valkyrie’s Life is Hell series and it is superb! I was hooked from the first page and I literally could not put it down. I finished this book in a day…maybe a day and a half because ya know…responsibilities and all. I fell in love with all of the characters in this book and just how they interacted with each other and evolved was *chef’s kiss*. The plot of No Rest for the Wicked is original and very well-done and so seamless. This is a very fast-paced book that you are going to have a very hard time putting down once you pick it up so go ahead and cancel your plans for the day or night…whatever. I cannot wait for this series to continue and see what Valkyrie has in store for the other characters!

No Rest for the Wicked is the first book in the Life is Hell series. I’ve been enjoying a lot of books by this author recently, including the House Valdis series, so knew I was in for a treat with this one! I love how she brings together unique fantasy elements and a variety of LGBTQ+ relationships.

In No Rest for the Wicked, we discover the small town of Juniper Lake through the eyes of burnt out demon Delilah. She’s in need of a break and, as the title suggests, the universe has other plans for her! This book does a good job of establishing the characters and giving the town history and depth.

I particularly like some of the supporting characters, including Jezebel and Millicent. I need to read more of the series now to get to spend some more time with these characters!

This book gets five stars from me. I’d recommend the series to readers who are already fans of the author’s work, and those who enjoy varied LGBTQ+ paranormal romances.

No Rest for the Wicked is the first book of the Life is Hell Series. I am so happy to have found this author Naomi Valkyrie. I first had read her House Valdis Series( if you haven’t read it I highly suggest you read it. It’s really good!). This story is a fast- paced read with MMF a trope. I made quick work of this. That’s how good it was 😀. After killing cheating husbands for about 200 years, Delilah takes a much needed break in a small town, Or so she thought lmao cause what she thought was a small town turned out to be filled with paranormal beings . I loved Delilah. She was a kickbutt , smart, strong main female character. I can not wait to read the next four books. I really enjoy reading books published by this author. I can’t wait to read more. I highly recommend reading this and the others 🥰

This is the second series I have started by Naomi Valkyrie. I love her writing style. Her booms are short but are great stories. No Rest For the Wicked follows Delilah, a demon who sold her soul as a human. She is looking for peace and normalcy and not just hurting and killing when she leaves the city for a small town called Juniper Lake. She may have thought a small town would fill what she was looking for but she finds more than she bargained for.

It is a fast read but worth it. I recommend checking out Naomi Valkyrie’s books. You won’t be disappointed.

Delilah is a demon who lives in the city and owns a bar. She also is a killer but a killer with morals. She hunts bad people. Even demons need a break sometime. To get away from it all, Delilah goes to the small town of Juniper lake and rents a cabin. She longs for a mundane vacation.

Unfortunately, life has other plans. After a couple nights of feeling the tug of a summoning spell, Delilah decides to find out who keeps trying to summon her and unexpectedly gets bound to a trio of witches. Her vacation quickly gets turned to work when she is given a list of tasks to do. It also doesn’t help that Delilah seems to be drawn to the towns sheriff, Malakahi. No way could their relationship work… right?

Delilah has to try to break the bonds if she wants to go back to her vacation time but it may be harder than it looks. Especially when Malakahi seems to be everywhere.

I loved the premise of a demon wanting to settle down, it gives them a bit of humanity. Delilah may be a demon but she still seemed like a caring and sassy sweetheart. I really enjoyed her character.

Naomi Valkyrie is such an amazing writer. I literally have added most of their books to my to be read list. They have such a unique and vivid way of writing. It’s never a dull moment no matter which of their books you read. Can’t wait to read the second book of this series!

I never hesitate to pick up any work from this author because they always take me on such an unforgettable adventure! It was a phenomenal quick read for my day. I couldn’t believe how perfectly the author balanced the length of the book with the development of the plot and characters! I have read the prequel and the first book in the series, so I was ecstatic to pick this up and dive right in. I will say that it should not be read as a standalone or you will likely get quite confused with the storyline and characters. I usually have a difficult time with books that have more than two points of view, but this was an exception to the rule. It’s told from multiple points of view, and I absolutely loved it. Xenobia has such huge responsibilities while they try to make things better for the people she loves. I don’t want to give anything away, but the amount of unpredictability in this book is a major win for me! I am crossing my fingers that the author gives us more to this series. If you love dark, paranormal fantasy books, don’t pass this one up!
