Completing and graduating from Law School means that it is time to step into his role in the Hawke empire. But he just wanted to have a night of fun before the real business began. He had two rules that both parties had to abide by: No Names. No Expectations.
But things never seem to go as planned. No amount of time will be enough with her. Not even a lifetime is enough.

Spicy!! This is a great introduction to Issac and Jack. I love that you could tell the feelings Issac was developing for Jack and over just a short amount of time. They seem to have this sort of connection. It seemed like by the end Issac may have been willing to delay his duties to his family to be with Jack a little longer, but Jack, I was wondering so much what her family was all about and why she was under such heavy security. I can’t wait to get into this series!

Night Hawke (The Hawke Family Second Generation Prequel) by Gwyn McNamee. I love this author so I was not surprised I loved this book. This is a very steamy story about Isaac and Jack. They met at a bar and holy batman, they have chemistry off the charts. Isaac has just finished Law School and is about to take the bar so he decides when he meets Jack at a bar and she’s giving him the look to take her up on it. They hook up for not only one night but two and they have a hot time! Jack’s family starts to look for her because she hasn’t shown up and there will be explaining to do! Read this fast paced steamy read but be ready cause you will fly thru the pages.

This was a really quick but well done prequel. There was a good amount of spice packed in the shortness of the book. It definitely makes the reader excited to see what will happen in Book 1. I liked the chemistry between Isaac and Jack. I look forward to reading more especially after the cliffhanger!

This was short but packs a lot of heat. Kicks this new series off with a bang (pun intended 😉)
I was left with more questions than answers but again it’s a short prequel so I knew that going in and now I’m anxiously waiting for the next book.

~ A Hawke Empire Story ~

I’m not typically one to read romance novellas. But this definitely has me hooked. Jack and Nolan are two very unique and strong characters. They both have character development that just begs to be read and continued.

The story is about a young lawyer, or soon to be lawyer, who is about to take the bar and return to his family’s empire to set into his role with them. He meets a young woman who’s a complete mystery. Needless to say sparks ignite.

I picked this up and read it in just under 3 hours. Super easy to get through and honestly you just won’t be able to put it down. I’m getting the first book ASAP!

This short book is a prequel to Isaac and Jack’s story.

Isaac and Jack are two strangers at a bar who can’t keep their eyes off each other. Some flirty banter leads to them deciding on one-night with no real names. Isaac will be leaving the city soon since he just finished law school and Jack has an overprotective family who will be looking for her by sunrise. So…one night it is.

However, one night turns into two when these two have chemistry that explodes off of the pages. But, when Isaac wakes up that second morning, Jack is gone and only a note left in her place. When he races out of the hotel to find her…he is more confused on who she is and how he will find her again.

This book was a quick read that I finished really fast. The story was fast paced and H-O-T hot! Definitely has me wondering exactly what is going on with Jack and if these two will find a way to make it work. I will definitely be checking out the next story!

Isaac is spending his last couple of nights in town before he heads home to New Orleans to work with family. He sees a stunning red head in a bar and decides he just found the woman to spend time with as the countdown begins. The chemistry is intense from the minute he speaks to her and every touch leads to wanting more, but it’s just for one night, right?

The prequel to Ruthless Hawke and oh my gosh you want more of their story. Sizzling chemistry between Jack and Isaac. You want to know more and see where the story goes, can’t wait to read this full story.

Night Hawke (The Hawke Family Second Generation #0.5)Night Hawke by Gwyn McNamee
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Isaac Hawke has just graduated from law school and is out for one night of fun before heading into his role in the Hawke family’s business empire. When he makes eye contact across the room with a stunning redhead, he feels an instant attraction. From the way she is looking at him the attraction seems to be mutual. Both Isaac and the mysterious redhead agree to spend one night together but the rule is that they cannot exchange real names.

Both Isaac (“Nolan”) and “Jack” were running from their families, for different reasons, and each needed a way to escape from the realities of their worlds. Falling into each others’ arms, while assuming different names, made that escape a possibility. Neither went into it with any sort of expectation and they fully intended to walk away afterwards with no-strings attached.

“Jack”, as the mysterious redhead calls herself, turns out to be someone that “Nolan” (Isaac) cannot get enough of, and he finds that he does not want their time together to end. He decides to ask “Jack” for her real name in the morning but when he wakes up, she is gone. Now with no real name to go by, Isaac fears that he will never be able to find this mysterious and sexy redhead that he cannot imagine being without.

This book was steamy from the first few pages and became sizzling hot as it went along. The chemistry between Isaac and “Jack” was intense, and full of raw passion. It ended on a bit of a cliff-hanger, and I cannot wait to read more in the series.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I’ve heard good things about the first series, but I haven’t picked up any books from it. I decided to check out this prequel to get a feel for what the second generation series might be like.

What I liked: The writing is well done, the story is easy to follow, and the author writes good steamy scenes.

What could have been better: The story gave me nothing to connect to the characters. You get very little backstory outside of some vague statements. I knew it was going to have some steam from the blurb, but I really expected more story line than there was. Even though the story ends on a cliffhanger, it didn’t make me want to grab the first book in the series to find out anything more.

Conclusion: If you want to read a ton of steam, this is the book for it. I feel like I would have appreciated this story more if I had already read the book this is leading up to and had made a deeper connection to the characters.

This is about two complete strangers and their two night stand because one wasn’t enough. “ This man is most certainly dangerous; though, I don’t think it has anything to do with the things girls are always warned about by their mothers. This man is dangerous in a way that will destroy your body and soul. ”

“ “(F—), Jack…” He jerks on my hair until my eyes meet his again. “This is a dangerous game you’re playing.” Don’t I know it. This entire weekend has been dangerous— for him, for me, for my heart. And I don’t want it to end. Not yet. One more night. Tomorrow, I’ll deal with the fallout. ”

Night Hawke is the first addictive book in the new Hawke Family Second Generation series by Gwyn McNamee. It is set 30 years after the original series finished, bringing us back into the fold of the Hawke family.
GAH!!!! I Floved this book so hard….. being a HUGE fan of the original series, I was so excited when I discovered Ms. McNamee had plans for a second-generation series, but also a little apprehensive that it wouldn’t match the pull of the original series, let alone come close to the way the original cast captured my heart and etched themselves onto my soul………..but I was WRONG!!! I should never have doubted Ms. McNamee, and I know I have said that before, but I let my doubt get the better of me here. I knew the story would be good because, DUH, it’s Gwyn McNamee. But I was worried that because I had LOVED the original Hawkes with such a fiery passion, that this second generation may not hold a candle to their predecessors. But, I was WRONG……. again!!! If this story is anything to go by, then the new series is set to be AMAZING, and the original Hawkes have some serious competition headed their way.
Night Hawke is a short novella length story, a tasty little morsel offered to whet our appetite for the new series. It is the prequel- an introduction as such and an entirely addictive little piece that has left me eagerly anticipating the release of ‘Ruthless Hawke’ (Book #1) and meeting all of the new cast of Hawkes, as well as perhaps catching up with our favourites from the original series.
Isaac Hawke has just graduated law school and is out celebrating when he locks eyes on a captivating red head across the bar. Even though he is leaving the city to head home to New Orleans in a few short days, he’s determined to convince her to spend the night with him. No names, no-strings-attached, a weekend of scorching passion that blazes white hot and unexpectedly brands their souls. Jack has her own secrets that tether her to the ‘real’ world and puts a firm time limit on their fling. What happens makes for a sizzling hot read. But, will one night be enough? You really should read all the riveting details for yourself; you’ll be so glad you did.
This does end on a bit of a cliffhanger, but thankfully we don’t have too long to wait till the next book releases- because I. CAN. NOT. WAIT. to continue what I started here!!!!
Perfectly delicious and entirely enticing!
Happy Reading…

Thank you, Gwyn McNamee!

This book is like a habanero pepper: short and full of spice. This was the first book I’ve read by this author, and as a novella, I liked it. It’s a quick read- I was getting my car fixed this morning and I had it done by the time they finished working on my tire. I’ll be looking forward to the actual first book in the series, and I can’t wait to see what’s in store for Jack and Hawke! The author does a fantastic job at pulling the reader in instantaneously, I do recommend!!

Holy Moly this is one fast paced hot read. With well written characters that are both hiding something.
Gwyn introduces us to the second generation of the Hawke family in this prequel and what an introduction it is. I cannot wait to read more.
They meet unexpectedly in a bar, thinking one night will be enough, can two nights be enough? Being nameless they know nothing about each other especially how to contact each other after their rendezvous. Can a 2 night stand be enough…Their time together is full on and the author builds a world that is very easy to fall into.
The Characters are completely enthralling and the story line is intense. I really need to know what happens next, I would love a HEA but I feel a rocky road would be in store for either of our characters.
Well what a way to start of my reading for 2023! I absolutely ADORE this author and the first book I ever read by her Savage Collison is still by far one of the best books I have ever read and over the years I have been fortunate to read so many of her books so when I saw this one I didn’t even bother reading the blurb I just grabbed it and as usual it was phenomenal! It is a prequel to the Hawke family series and sets the scene between the two characters Jack and Isaac just perfectly and I absolutely cannot wait to read more about them and start this new series. A one night stand between an attorney and a mystery woman. This book could not get any sexier. You know so little about the two characters, yet you feel like you’ve known them for years. This novel took me less than 3 hours to read. I’m still not sure if that means that it was a short book or if I was too focused on reading to pay attention to anything else. If you are looking for a sexy, mysterious romance, then this is the book for you. I cannot wait to get my hands on the other work by this author, ESPECIALLY the next book to this series. I NEED to find out what happens next!

Hawke just graduated law school and now he has to go into the family business. He has only one more night and he is going to make it count. Hawke spots this beautiful redhead that can’t keep her eyes off of him. He spends the night with the beauty but he never got her real name and when he wakes up she is long gone. Gwyn Mcnamee created Night Hawke: A Second Generation Hawke Family Prequel as a taste of what is coming in this series. The book features Issac and the beguiling redhead who uses the name “Jack.” When Issac approaches the woman she gives him the name Jack so he uses the name Nolan. She isn’t worried about this, because both of them seem interested in a one night stand. Issac takes her to a fancy hotel called the Palmer House. Neither of them try to divulge anything about their lives. Issac is leaving Chicago to join his father in a family business, while Jack doesn’t say anything beyond that she grew up in Chicago. The cliffhanger ending left me eager to start this series. The mystery that started when the two met continues into Ruthless Hawke, and I know I am going to pick up a copy to dive into the story.

Night Hawke is a steamy short story about two people who anonymously enjoy each other across a weekend. What I mean by enjoying each other is in the physical sense. Jack and Nolan may be their aliases, but their chemistry is off the charts.
So will a weekend be enough?
The author wrote a fun, hot, steamy, passionate story that I wanted more of. Every once in a while I look for a book like this to read. All the good ones are always short, like this one. They also always leave one wanting more. I might’ve found a new favorite author. Only time will tell. This was my first taste and I’m now planning on looking into other books written by the same author, to see if my hunch is correct.
If you want a short and steamy story this book is for you!!

This book is a steamy romance that sets up a forthcoming series that I can’t wait to get my hands on. While I am waiting, I may just have to back up and pick up the first series. This book functions as a standalone, and is great to read just as is, but don’t be surprised if you find yourself wanting more. Isaac and “Jack” meet at a bar, and decide to spend two hot days and nights together, without telling each other their true identities or any other identifying information. What was supposed to be a fun time with plenty of sex and no strings attached doesn’t exactly stay that way, as they both start to feel things they don’t necessarily intend to feel. Then, Jack walks away just as she always said she would, leaving the book on a cliffhanger that makes you want to know more.

Well holy hotness and lots of sex. Here’s a short story to introduce the reader to the next generation of Hawkes! The first generation of Hawkes are pretty dang hot too., so this next generation has a lot to live up to. After reading Night Hawke, so far so good!

Isaac is a Hawke, a second-generation Hawke. He has a lot on his plate and a lot to live up to. Did I say he was a Hawke? He graduated law school and now it’s time to be a grown up. Isaac decides that just one night of being care free won’t hurt anyone or cause any problems. Little did he know that even when there is no plan, plans change.

This story is hot times 1000! This author’s way with steam makes my kindle melt! Completely worth the time to read. Can’t wait to read what comes next for sexy Isaac!

If you haven’t read any of the books about the Hawke family you should. Not only are they steamy but they are also well written. Of course this book can be read as a stand alone since it’s a prequel to the next generation of Hawke’s. Isaac meets Jack in a bar while he is spending his last days in Chicago. He’s just finished law school and is about to enter into the family business. They don’t exchange names and there are no expectations for it to go further than a roll in the hay since it’s only for one night. But one night turns into two and then they want more. I’m looking forward to the full length novel as this has built up anticipation to find out more about Isaac and Jack.

This is a short and steamy read, which is a prequel to a new series featuring the Hawke family. Billionaire heir attorney, Isaac Hawke has a two-night stand with a mystery redhead, the rules, “Two nights. No names. No expectations”. Having graduated law school, Isaac is now ready to join his family’s multi-billion-dollar business, but before he joins the Hawke empire he goes out to have one night to celebrate. Having met a beautiful woman at the bar, he takes ‘Jack’ back to his hotel room for the night, however, this turns into a weekend in bed with her. Having realised that a weekend is not enough with ‘Jack’, he says they should exchange real names in the morning, but when he wakes up ‘Jack’ is gone, and with no real name Isaac has no way of finding her.
Meanwhile, the women turns out to be running away from her parents and her life, she just needed one night of freedom but knew it was too dangerous to stay. The chemistry between Isaac and ‘Jack’ literally sizzles off the page and leads to some extremely steamy scenes. This was an enjoyable and engaging read, which had me hooked. As a prequel the story sets up the new series really well, as it left me definitely wanting more, and left so many questions unanswered, especially the identity of ‘Jack’.

Night Hawke: (A Second Generation Hawke Family Prequel) (The Hawke Family Second Generation)

I know this was meant as a treat to those of us who are familiar with the Hawke family, but to me it was a giant tease but in the most pleasurable way.

I have loved this family since the first book with the first generation, and I have a feeling my love for them is only going to grow.

I don’t want to discuss specifics to avoid giving anything away but oh my do I want to talk about them. The pool game is definitely something that stood out.

I cannot wait until February for the series to officially kick off. If you are familiar with this series then definitely add this book to your TBR, if not please don’t waste anymore time and get started at the beginning so you’re ready for this Generation.

This is the start of the series about the second generation of the Hawke Family and I am so excited because it seems like its going to be just as amazing as the first series.
This book is like a teasing glimpse into the story of Issac and Jack’s story and while it is full of hot steamy action and attraction there are definately secrets which need to be uncovered.
I don’t want to give too much away but its a great read. When 2 people set out for an easy one night stand to forget real life and all the impending stress, neither of them were expecting anything more. With fake names all they have is this time together. But what happens if one of them wants more? And what will the outcome be when the secrets are revealed
