Pulling Together by Lois Wickstrom. This is such a fun little story. I love this author so I wasn’t surprised at how fun it was. Its the story of Lila’s grandmother knitting her a poncho but its no ordinary poncho it has 3 head holes. Lila is very confused by this but her grandmother just says “We all pull together”. When Lila wears the poncho she comes across the neighborhood bully so she finds some friends who need help and she tries to help them. Such a sweet read and my nephews truly enjoyed it. This would be a sweet gift as well. Fun for the whole family.

This book was cute. It was fun reading about Lila and the poncho with three neck holes. It is a story about friendship and how friends need to pull together in times of need. It is a good story and I think it provides insight for children on how to cope with bullying and friends. I recommend this book to anyone who has children who enjoy reading.

Lila is a young lady who loves her Grandma dearly, but when she sees her knitting a blanket with three head holes, she is more than confused, that is until she is told that it is a poncho and that it is one head hole and two arm holes, so wearing the poncho, she goes to find her friend so that they can play together.

On her way, she encounters two other youngsters, as well as her friend and each of them need some assistance, including the neighbourhood bully who insists on being mean to Lila and the others, but how can she help them and what did her Grandma mean by “we all pull together”?

This is a lovely story about how when we pull together anything can happen, but is it a good or a bad thing? Only by reading the book can you find out.

I feel like Lois Wickstrom knows exactly how to weave a story with just enough fun and lessons to help kids while keeping them engaged the whole time. Lila’s Grandma knits her a poncho which is a lovely gesture. But Lila finds that there are three holes in it for the head and she’s convinced that Grandma has made a mistake. In true Grandma fashion, she shrugs it off and smiles with “We all pull together.” While Lila doesn’t understand this right away, she finds out later on when she sees three new kids in need. My family always enjoys reading books by this author. We read it as a group, and I like to get their ideas afterwards. Somehow Lois peers into the hearts of kiddos and understands exactly what they need. I loved the lesson and illustrations. Don’t miss out on this great opportunity to share an incredible book with the family!

Pulling together was another great book written by Lois Wickstrom. The Grandmother made a poncho with 3 head holes and her grand daughter thought she made a mistake. Later in the story 3 friends pull together and share it. I think this would be a great book to teach young ones about sharing. I also think it would be great in teaching them how they can come together and use them with each other. It was definitely easy to read.

This is the really cute story of how friendship and understanding can pull everyone together. Lila thinks that her grandmother makes a mistake when she knits her a poncho with 3 neck holes, but she quickly realizes that she can share her poncho with her friend and not-so-much of a friend when the weather turns blustery and they have to hustle home. I really love Wickstrom’s stories and how she’s always able to weave life-lessons into them and the illustrations are wonderful. My youngest daughter always enjoys these stories.

Sweet book about coming together, and bullying. Lila stands up for herself against Nate being a bit of a bully and in the end come together and get along due to the warmth the poncho provided. The art is very beautiful and I love that the friends can all play together nicely and share.

I absolutely love the message, “We all pull together” that is evident throughout this book. Lois Wickstrom has quickly become one of my favorite authors. Her illustrator, Janet King does a wonderful job of bringing the story to life with the illustrations! Lila is spending time with her Grammie who is putting the finishing touches on a poncho just for Lila. At first Lila is not too sure about the poncho, but it ends up pulling her and others together. Pulling Together is one of my favorite books with an Important message that even though something might not seem great at first, it can all come together well in the end. Another thing that can be learned is to forgive others and bring them close. Wrap up with your favorite cozy jacket, poncho, or blanket and enjoy this sweet book!

Grandma is knitting a poncho for Lila but it’s no ordinary poncho. This one has three heads! Lila is confused but Grandma keeps saying, “We all pull together!” Lila goes out to see her friends. They aren’t as kind as they should be about her poncho but when the things get tough, the poncho will pull everyone together.

I love how this story features a grandmother knitting her grandchild something! I am a crafter and I can appreciate this sentiment so much! Many times things are gifted that aren’t immediately appreciated but then something happens and the thing that the receiver thinks they didn’t want becomes a treasure. I love the relationship that Lila has with her grandmother too! There’s nothing like a grandmother!

This is a great book to read with your favorite youngsters about friendship and bullying. It’s also a great lesson in respecting those around you, including elders. I highly recommend this one!

This adorable story can teach kids it is ok to have different interests and still be friends. There is nothing wrong with being different. Being kind and caring is truly what friendship comes down to.

Wickstrom had become a go-to purchase for me when shopping for my nieces and nephews. The stories are always well written, and the illustrations are on point as well. I would recommend this book to others.

I’ve read several books by Lois Wickstrom and I love the way she weaves important messages/ themes within fun stories. Pulling Together is a fun read about pulling together with friends and with people who you may not feel deserve it. This is such a great message and way to deal with someone who was bullying them. The subtle message that grandma didn’t make a mistake but knew what she was doing and how her granddaughter was smart enough to trust and listen to her was touching as well.

I also enjoyed the colorfully rendered illustrations in this book. They make the story come alive so beautifully. I have several books by Wickstrom that I like, but this is by far my favorite.

Pulling Together by Lois Wickstrom is another wonderful children’s book with a great lesson. Lila’s Grandma knits her a poncho with three head holes and Lila is certain Grandma must have made a mistake. As Lila goes out to play she learns what Grandma meant by pulling together. It is a wonderful lesson that teaches how we can set children on the path and allow them to learn the lessons of kindness, gratitude, and “pulling together”. I really enjoyed reading this story with my children. The lessons are easy to grasp and the illustrations are beautiful. This is a winner of a story!

When Lila sees her grandmother knitting a poncho with three head holes, she thinks that she has definitely made a mistake. All her grandmother says is “We all pull together “. Not really understanding, Lila puts on the poncho and goes out to play. By the end of the day, Lila realizes that her grandmother didn’t make a mistake and understands the reason for the three head holes. This is a great book to teach children to help others even those that they think don’t deserve it. This is a fantastic way to show kids that sticking together is always better!

Pulling Together is a wonderfully written children’s book that children of any age will enjoy and adults to. My son and I are huge funs of this author and this may be our favorite yet. The one thing I love about this author is there’s always something to gain from reading her books for example learning to share or how to work together This is about Pulling Together. Lila’s grandma knits her a poncho but she thinks grandma made a mistake. While outside playing she comes across three kids who need her help including one kid who is the neighborhood bully. What will Lila do? Will she help all three kids? My son loved the story and the illustrations. He even had his own opinion on what Lila should do. I highly recommend reading this heart warming children’s book to find out what Lila did? I can’t wait to read more from this Author.

This is such a lovely and heart warming story by an author that our entire household always enjoys. This story is all about inclusion and sticking together, something that kids really would benefit from knowing more about as they grow up. It was really nice to see my daughter understand the subject matter and engage with it so naturally. It was perfect to teach her the morale of the story. As usually, we have already read this book multiple times and I am sure we will be reading it many more.

My great nieces, nephew and I love this author’s books and this is one of our favorites. Very good illustrations and I love the overall message of this story and young and old can enjoy and learn.

Lila is curious that her Grammie is knitting something from Lila that is 3 holes and no sleeves..what could it be? When Grammie is done with the poncho for Lila….she immediately tries it one to go outside…and this poncho keeps Lila warm. Will Lila share when her friends get chilly while playing outside too even is one of her friends is a bit abrasive?

Remember “We All Pull Together”…what a wonderful message for not only children to remember but for adults too.

Lila assumes her grandma made a mistake when she knitted her a 3-neck poncho. As the day turns blustery cold, Lila learns a lesson of gratitude and friendship as her and her friends stave off a bullyish boy.

This book would be perfect for a discussion of inclusion, taking chances (and elders sometimes know better) and getting along with peers. The colorful illustrations enhance to story as well. Perhaps too wordy for the youngest listeners, would be a delightful read/listen for slightly older preschoolers and kindergarten aged children.

When Lila’s Grandma starts knitting a poncho with three head holes Lila thinks that Grandma has surely made a mistake. When Lila asks her Grandma about she says, “We all pull together” and then sends her out to play wearing the poncho. Lila makes her way to her friends house that is two doors down. On the way she encounters two others, one of which is the neighborhood bully. Lila hurries on her way and once she gets to her friends house she discovers what her Grandma meant by her words.

This was a beautiful little story packed full of lessons and exquisite illustrations that really bring the story to life. Grandma had a lesson to teach Lila by knitting a poncho with three head holes but it was up to Lila to learn it through her own actions. Although intended for younger children it conveys important messages for all ages about peer pressure, bullying, sharing, kindness, gratitude, playing and working together. Another amazing book by this author!

Lila’s grandmother knits a poncho for Lila. At first Lila thinks grammy made a mistake – there were three neck holes! She puts it over her head and arms and heads out to see her friends. She hopes that certain neighbors don’t see her… but they do. During her interactions with each of the kids in the neighborhood, they learn that if they “pull together” things work out much nicer for each of them. Lois Wickstrom uses this great way to show the idea of working together is better than working against.

Lila learns that her grandmother is wiser then she thought. As grandmother is making a ponçho with 3 holes in it. Lila soon find out what her grandmother means when she said,”We All Pull Together”. So why are there 3 holes in the ponçho? That can only be answered by reading this story! I absolutely love this author and her children’s books. She touched on many childhood pressures. Peers, Bullying, Sharing, Playing and Working Together. Her characters are the children we love and adore. This is another book all children’s libraries should have in it.
