This was an exciting and thrilling read – so much so that I devoured it in one sitting and it’s not usually a genre that I read! The author’s writing was so engaging, detailed and descriptive and it’s definitely made me want to read more books by him again in the future. I loved that the whole way through I was constantly guessing trying to figure out what was going to happen and just when I thought I had worked it out the author threw in a plot twist!! I really liked the main character; he was intriguing to read about!
This is the third book in this series however I read it as a standalone and had no problems but I would definitely like to read the first two now and any subsequent releases!

I find myself delving deeper into the mysteries and I can’t help but get entrapped in my imagination as they take us to the most unpredictable places with each case. This book is no different with where we go with Red to solve this case. Every turn is more suspenseful then the next as we follow quickly along with intrigue. I love how well developed it is that it seemed like a movie as I dreamed about the book at night after each chapter as it came to life as I slept. Every character was well likeable (at least to me) for different reasons.

East Beach (Red Farlow Mysteries #3) by W.F. Ranew

Ranew has really outdone himself. I can’t wait for the next one. He will have you trying to figure out who did what before you finally find out. A great read.

Red Farlow a PI gets a phone call no one wants to get. A friend is hurt and Red hauls butt there. He walks in to find his friend dying and blood on the floor.

Red calls in friends to help him out with this case. The quote I chose for Red is: “You can only get onto and off the island three ways. One is by air to or from McKinnon airport. Two, by water. Three, by car, bicycle, or foot over the Torras Causeway to the mainland. A boat could be a problem since the tide was incoming at that time, or so I believe. Have to double-check. The easiest and quickest route is by auto over the causeway.”

Highly recommended for crime lovers.

East Beach (Red Farlow Mysteries: #3)East Beach by W.F. Ranew
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I have really enjoyed the Red Farlow Mysteries by WF Ranew, so when I saw there was a new one available I instantly one-clicked. I was not disappointed with East Beach either, in fact this may just be my favorite so far. Ranew really has a knack for writing suspense and mystery. I was constantly second guessing myself as I read, wondering if things really were what they seemed on the surface, but this sucker throws in some twists and turns that you won’t see coming. I was on the edge of my seat and found myself reading this in one fell swoop well past my bedtime. I really loved the backdrop as well I felt as if I was visiting a mysterious and creepy misty beach town the entire time.

In Easy Beach we find Red Farlow, the PI we have come to love, receiving an odd message from his friend. When he decides to look into it more and go to his friend he discovers him laying in a pool of blood after being shot. He will now stop at nothing to discover who killed his friend and why. The adventure is one you won’t want to miss and I can’t wait to see what else we will find Red Farlow doing next!

East Beach: Red Farlow Mysteries: #3 by W.F. Ranew is a mystery thriller story. It will have you thinking you had it figured out only to be slipped a twist and a turn here and there and you had no idea. WF is very good a character building and they are well written. Red finds his friend on deaths door and is now on the hunt to find out who did this. The trail leads to drugs and cartel and your share of seedy bad guys. It also leads to more questions than answers. There are a lot of moving people and pictures in this story but WF does a good job of pulling it all together.

I give East Beach: Red Farlow Mysteries: #3 by W.F. Ranew, 5 stars.

This is another great book in a wonderful Hard Boiled PI series. The story has so many twists and turns, I dare you to keep track the entire time. But don’t worry, it will all make sense as you go on. I was never exactly of the big picture since the author made sure to throw in a few subplots, but I could not put the book down — I needed to see what happened next. Such a gripping, twisting story.

But what this author really excels at and makes them stand apart is their character development. Each and every character in this story has an extensive back story. This makes them feel all that much real and you understand them so much better. You never really know who will be important later on or not, so you are left guessing just what role the character will play later on. I enjoy this aspect of the book, it makes the story feel all that more real.

This book deals with some adult situations, so I would not recommend it for a younger audience, but if you like your detective stories gritty and fully of suspense and action, this book is for you.

East Beach is the third book in the Red Farlow Mysteries series by W.F Ranew. This is an in intriguing murder mystery, with crime investigation, PI, drama, danger, drug dealers, and some surprising developments. I enjoyed the previous book, but this is definitely my pick of the bunch, so far.
Red Farlow gets a strange message from a friend that has him concerned. When he arrives, he finds his friend on death door, having been shot. With his final words ringing in his ears, Red is determined to discover who shot his friend and why. And so the mystery begins.
As with the previous books, this is a detailed and descriptive story that is cleverly woven. There were a few minor issues for me, but they didn’t detract too much from my overall enjoyment of the story.

Thank you, W.F Ranew!

I loved reading the book EAST BEACH (Red Farlow Mysteries No. 3) by W.F. Ranew. It is a story that includes secrets, mystery, and danger. I was pulled in from the very beginning. This book has PI Red Farlow finding Joseph Trammell dying in his home. Who had shot and killed Joseph Trammell? Read this book for the full story. This is a book that had me on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next. I loved reading about the character of Red Farlow. He is intelligent, resourceful, and once on an investigation has a fierce determination to find the truth. He would be someone I would want to hire as a PI. This story has many twists and turns that I didn’t see coming. Many characters are introduced and many of them help Red in his investigation. Then some have other plans and agendas. They don’t care about anyone but themselves. This is a who-done-it that is exciting and entertaining to read. You won’t be able to put it down until the final page. The author does a wonderful job of making the story and the characters come alive. I would highly recommend reading this book and series.

I give Blue Magnolia: Red Farlow Mysteries: #2 by W.F. Ranew, 4 stars.

I have not read this series or author before, so I had no idea what to expect. The first thing and most obvious to me was the detailed character descriptions. The author gives us back stories to each and every character in the book. That is something that is unusual to me and wasn’t sure what to think about it. The more I read the more I appreciated it. I sometimes get mixed up if there are too many characters and little description. It is quite obvious the time and effort the author put into all of the characters, not just the main ones.

I enjoyed all of the main characters and cannot wait to see them again. Plus there is the story itself. It pulls on things that are very current and relatable. At the same time, there are many little things that make this book unique and stand out from the rest. I quite enjoyed this book and hope to pick up another some time soon. If you are a fan of mysteries, I highly recommend this book.

Blue Magnolia (Red Farlow Mysteries No. 2) by W.F. Ranew. I love this book. It was so good I did not want to put it down. Its the story of up and coming Country Singer Hank Tillman aka Cowboy who has had his own troubles including DUI’s leaving him without a driver’s license. He is also famous for ending up in bar fights where he sings and gets thrown in jail. But things seem to be looking up for Hank with the fact that his new song has become a hit. With his song becoming a hit and him becoming known Hank falls into trouble when a radical group called the Blue Magnolia wants him to play at their hate rally and Hank really doesn’t want to. When Hank declines he finds himself in a ton of trouble and so he hires PI Red Farlow to help protect him. Will Red be able to help Hank stay out of trouble and will Hank continue to succeed or will the radical group get to him. I really enjoyed this book and can’t wait for the next one.

This book had an interesting cover with a single man with a cowboy hat walking into a town. It looked like it was right out of the midwest, or a modern ghost town. The story is unique and intriguing. Red Farlow walks into a cult following, Blue Magnolia. His client is in a heap of trouble with Blue Magnolia and wants help. Will Farlow be able to help or will have trouble coming at him. One thing I really enjoy is Red Farlow’s character. He is a strong male character who does not mind getting his hands dirty. The story line grabs me from the first page until the last page. I am interested in cult societies. It fascinates me that people are able to be easily controlled. Highly recommend this story to see what happens. Will Red find his match with Blue Magnolia? Can he help his client Will?

Blue Magnolia: Red Farlow Mysteries: #2 by W.F. Ranew is a crime/mystery story. It is multi layered and has an original storyline. The premise is good, but I found it tough going in the beginning as it was a little slow and had to retrace my steps sometimes. There are also a lot of players and it took me a while to settle in to WF’s writing style. Having said that it was an interesting read and I was definitely intrigued to see how it would all play out. It is a compelling puzzle that keeps us on our toes.

Hank is a magnet for trouble, mayhem and havoc and Red is hired to look out for him. Red must dig deeper than he has before to keep Hank out of trouble.

Blue Magnolia is the second book in the Red Farlow Mysteries series, but my first read by W.F Ranew. It is an interesting crime investigation story full of mystery, drama, intrigue, danger, and lots more that kept me turning the pages to discover what was happening. I enjoyed this book and look forward to exploring W.F Ranew’s other books in this series.
Hank Tillman (“Cowboy”) is a country music singer trying to make it big. He seems to attract trouble, stumbling from one error in judgement to another mishap. When one of his songs becomes a hit- it attracts some unwanted attention in the form an extremist group who are determined to ‘persuade’ him to perform at their rally. Declining the radical organization places Hank in a precarious situation. And so enters Private Investigator Red Farlow, who is hired to help protect him. But, things heat up and the trouble escalates, with danger becoming an ever-present shadow. Red will need to dig deep and utilize all his skills in order to get to the bottom of things before it’s too late.
This was a detailed and descriptive story with an original premise and an intriguing puzzle that had my mind pondering the outcome. There was a lot happening and a lot of ‘parts’ in play, which gave the story a bit of a jerky/choppy feel. I am interested to see how the series develops in the next book/s.

Thank you, W.F Ranew!

I must say I did not expect that I would love this book quite as much as I did! It had a little bit of all my favorite things that I enjoy in a good solid mystery novel. It kept me in suspense both with the characters and the story line and I was often on the edge of my seat trying to figure out the all the things before they played out on the kindle screen.

Blue Magnolia is actually the second novel in the Red Farlow Mysteries but you should be able to read it in any order you wish and still enjoy it. These novels follow the PI Red Farlow as he works on different cases in each novel. This one Red Farlow’s client was Hank, an aspiring country music star with a pension for getting into trouble. I liked how this was an original story line and not something I had seen time and again and I will definitely be back for more with the next book in the series!

Blue Magnolia (Red Farlow Mysteries #2) by W.F. Ranew

This is the first read by W.F., but it will not be the last. Blue Magnolia is the second book in the Red Farlow Mysteries Series and I’ve got to say what a wonderful job.

P.I. Red Farlow, is not your ordinary PI. He’s a mysterious character and it made me fall in love. Red’s new client, Hank, has found himself in trouble. Can Red help?

Red is hired by Hank’s cousin, who worries about him constantly. Red helps because that’s just who he is. Will he regret it later? The quote I choose for Red is: “I know your brother, James, too. You were about twelve the last time we met. How is everyone doing?”

This is a highly recommended book for mystery lovers. Danger, Country Music, and mystery all wrapped into one. I can’t wait for the next read!
