The Fallen Man: A Heartwarming Holiday Romance Set in the 1990s by Cat Treadgold

Edward is the oldest of the O’Connell while in his youth he was a man about town, in the recent years he has seen his calling as a priest but has become illusion with his faith and needs a place to contemplate his life. So he makes his way back to Port Townsend his childhood and family home but what lies await for him when he gets there.

Lisette has her own chequered past but is keeping it well hidden, but secrets always have a way of coming out when you least expect them. So, when Edward enters the café and starts getting to know Lisette he becomes more intrigued with her everyday but can she hide her past from him especially when his family is against there friendship.

This book was lovely and heart warming, the characters were well developed and just brilliant to read you felt as a reader that you were invested into the story. I have not read the other books in this series and although I followed the story and understood a lot I feel if I had read the whole series I would have had a better understanding of dynamics of the family and each family member.

I loved these characters and all the secondary characters just adds to this story and with the fast pace its makes it unable to put down. The chemistry jumps off the page and I fell in love with these two beautiful people. I will go back and read the series from the beginning as this story has made me intrigued to get to know the O’Connell’s in more detail.
