This was the first book I’d read by this author, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. I was blown away by how amazing it was! I read this with both of my kids who are 8 and 12 years old, and they loved it as well. The illustrations are absolutely gorgeous and really add depth to the story. It helped keep my youngest’s attention as well. This is such a beautiful book about resilience and the turbulent times that children can encounter. I especially loved that this focuses on foster kids because they do see the world differently, but they still need love, care, and attention. Sometimes they put up that wall of isolation to stay safe, and this story really shows how to support someone going through that. I highly recommend picking this up for your classroom, library, or home to share with the younger ones in your life. It teaches empathy and emotions as well as different situations that others go through.

I’m a sucker for characters who have artistic passions and run through challenges along their journey. I love reading of their determination to overcome their obstacles. This book has these themes and I enjoyed it! Scoob is a 12 year old trumpet player who has been taught to play since she was very young thanks to her father. Now after finding herself homeless, she is doing what she can to earn her keep and gets a job at an Italian restaurant in Santa Monica. Unfortunately her brother RC has other plans with an unexpected road trip for work. En route, Scoob finds out a very famous jazz player will be scooping new talent in an upcoming visit to the restaurant she was recently hired for. She is determined to get back but one thing after another leaves her feeling hopeless until one life changing event.

I was so excited to read a new book by this author. I have loved every book I have read by this author and this one is no different. This book had me hooked from the beginning and kept me completely enthralled throughout the entire story. This book has drama, chemistry, forgiveness, danger, action, great characters and so much more. Chaz and Helo’s story isn’t something you want to miss out on. Both of these characters are alone because of their pasts that haunt them. Will they see what could be? This is a must read to find out what happens. I highly recommend this book. I can’t wait to read what this author has in store for us next!

This book was impossible to put down! I lost quite a bit of sleep just trying to finish this book and find out what happened. The sheer number of emotions that coursed through me while reading about Scoob and RC is astonishing. There were several times I had to stop and reach for tissues because a moment caught me off guard and caused a few tears. It’s not all sad or gloomy as there are plenty of heartwarming moments throughout this story. I’m still such a band nerd for the trumpet, so this book touched more of my heart than I had expected. The flow of the story is magnificent, and everything unfolded so naturally. The relationship between RC and Scoob definitely exemplified siblings, and I truly loved seeing them fight together to make it through. If you are looking for an emotional rollercoaster with strong family dynamics, and yes, possibly shed a few tears, then this book is for you. I can’t wait to see what this author has in store for us next!

Wow what a wonderful yet handy self help guide with many tips included . This book has helpful information on how to help you be more productive, more creative, and empowered with your work/ personal life. The techniques, handy guides and strategies help you be more productive. I absolutely loved reading this book. I learned a lot of useful information and ideas on how to basically make my life and my work life simpler. This book literally just became my life Bible and I plan on taking it with me everywhere I go. All the tips are wonderful. I highly recommend reading this book and who knows you may learn a thing or to I know I sure did. I look forward to reading more from this Author.

A heartwarming and at times heartbreaking YA novel which kept me captivated throughout. The wonderfully detailed description narrative transported me back to the summer of 1976, making me feel immersed in the story. Twelve year old Scoob is a musical prodigy who dreams of becoming a jazz legend. Having lost her parents her older brother RC looks after her, but they have ended up on the streets and don’t even have money for food. Just as Scoob gets a paying gig and a chance of getting the attention of a famous band leader on tv, RC drags her off on a mysterious road trip. The siblings find themselves stuck in the small town of Rexburg, Idaho.
Within the idyllic farming community the residents are divided over the safety of a newly built dam. Meanwhile the well-meaning locals want to help Scoob and RC, but she just wants to return home and to her audition. Scoob is heartbroken when she learns that RC has not been honest with her. She decides to return home on her own, but then the dam springs a leak. Soon a wall of water is heading for the town destroying everything in its path. As Scoob fights for her life she has to decide what really matters to her. This story literally took me on an emotional rollercoaster and I found it was a real page turner.

Hillary Rettig does an excellent job explaining how these bad habits effect the outcome of our work. There is a powerful uplifting message throughout to better oneself. After that there are many practical solutions that are explained such as empowerment and time management. There are many excellent examples and exercises to work through the book to help you further develop yourself. You can apply this book to all aspects of your life from professional to personal. I recommend a read if you’re struggling with being productive in any aspect of your life.

This book is a great tribute to Agatha Christie and provides an entertaining murder mystery story. I really connected with the characters of this book and for me, they are entirely what it is about. I loved watching them try to figure everything out and all of the references back to such a classic murder series.
The author has a great way of telling the story, of allowing it to develop in a way that seems so natural. I found the whole story to be intriguing and enjoyed trying to work out what was going on. The book caught my attention easily and held it right to the end. This is a story definitely worth reading.

Such a cute and interesting book, my two daughters and I loved it as our goodnight book the other day. We split this into two nights as they fell asleep.
We loved how it went through A-Z and had a pic for everyone to guess at first and then fun facts. Enjoyed the little facts at the bottom of the page that turned into mini side conversations with my daughter. Bella (9) loved the Hippopotamus one and we ended up watching a documentary on Hippos the next day. Book even had some Wacky Facts in there!!
Definitely a must read with the other kiddos when they want to read it and I am also thinking about using it for our homeschooling with the 2 little ones for their ABC’s

I enjoyed reading this book to the kiddos. They seemed interested from the beginning. This is an ABC book and as we go thru the ABC’s we are shown a picture and we have to guess who’s snoot it is. The book also explains what a family or group of that animal is called. Very interesting and informative with bright beautiful pictures.

Kate attempted suicide and survived after several things have happened in her life one her Ex and his wife are pregnant and the board of the company she created fired her. Lydia needs to take care of someone as she is now a retired teacher, widowed and her daughter is off to college. Both are unsure of their future and what to do next, so they go on a trip Lydia is hoping to save her friend and Kate is just getting by and trying to let go.

I absolutely loved this book! For someone who has dealt with depression I think it made it more emotional for me at times.

Another wonderful story in this series. I was thoroughly enthralled with the trip this one took me on. Trying to keep my wits about me so I could figure it all out. The characters are plentiful. We get a large number we already know with some new additions. Some of them surprised me others I had figured out. We do get to see Madame Chalamet stretch her powers of deduction along with her ghost talking ones. I enjoyed getting more insight into a few of the personalities.

Overall this is another good story in this series. While I was not a hundred percent agreeable with the ending it still is satisfactory. Although a few things happen at the end that I can not wait to see more of in the next book.

This was an interesting YA read. It also has historical elements and the author does an amazing job of transporting you back to that time period. One thing I loved was seeing the growth of Scoob through the story. She seemed to develop from a child who was souly focused on her own wants and dreams to maturing and realise that sometimes things aren’t all about you.
This story is fast paced, and in parts heartbreaking.
Scoob is a talented young child. When she lands a job playing in a jazz band and a possible meeting with someone very influencel in the industry. It seems her life and dreams finally have a chance to come true, that is until her brother takes her away.
RC makes her leave to attend a music festival however that isn’t the real reason they are leaving. What is RC hiding.
When a dam breaks flooding the town they are living in it leads to chaos and heartbreak for everyone.
This is an emotional rollercoaster of a story. The love between the siblings shines through from beginning to end, even when Scoob was angry at RC you still feel the bond between them. When things go wrong does Scoob realise what is more important. Following her dream or her brother.

My family really enjoyed reading this story. The author also included a list of things to have ready at the end of the book. So much was to be learned as well as fun to be had. I look forward to reading and learning more about Oscar and Emmy.

Summer of Mud is a wonderfully written Historical children’s book/YA that is aimed for middle school aged kids but adults can enjoy it as well. I was very eager to dive into this book and truly enjoyed reading it. This is a fairly new author to me but her style of writing and attention to detail along with developed characters make the story come to life. There’s a lot going on in this fast paced story but it’s not overwhelming but pretty easy to follow. Get ready to be taken on quite the adventure with Scoob and her older brother as they travel to a small town. Scoob is a young girl but man she has talent and big dreams. I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I’m looking forward to reading more from this Author.

This is the spicy addition of The Music That Ties Us after all. It is a slow burn romance at first then it lights up like a fire in the night. I wonder how I have not come across this author before now.

Nicolette has a way with words that brings the story to life with superbly written characters although there were times when I wanted to shake Cadence and get her to walk away. I wondered if they would ever get their act together. They each have their own pasts to deal with, but they can’t seem to escape them. With evil exes on the scene that I wanted to do bodily harm to.

The Music That Ties Us gave me all the feels in all the right and wrong places. It is a very emotive story, and it is hard to put aside but unfortunately work had other ideas. I read it every waking minute because I was so wrapped up in the story.

I will be read other works by this author.

This one starts out and you feel like you are lost in that cardshop’s channel and this is going to be another rich guy, small town girl romance but somewhere along the way you realize that it is more than that. It is a story of second chances at life, love, friendship, and maybe even a little redemption. But with enough steam to keep you flipping those pages.

Hailey’s entire world crashes around her. Her parents are killed in an accident, she is grieving, but she doesn’t bounce back fast enough for the man she is engaged to and thinks she loves, so he leaves Hailey in the care of her best friend. As Hailey slowly puts the pieces of her life back together, she buys a dilapidated B&B. Rehabbing the B&B becomes Hailey’s lifeline.

Loch needs a break. He is the lead singer of one of the biggest bands in the world. He just lost his sister in a tragedy he is not ready to talk about yet. Loch hasn’t been himself since his sister died. Now, he just needs some space, some time to get his head together before all the pressure his manager and label are putting on him to write the next greatest hit. When Loch rents out Hailey’s B&B for some rest, he never expects to meet the one person that is the balm to his soul.

As Hailey and Loch grow closer, all the red flags from Hailey’s relationship with her ex haunt her. She is just not ready to love. Loch falls hard. He starts feeling and hearing the music again. When Loch brings the rest of the group up to Hailey’s to work before going on tour, Hailey brefriends each member. When Hailey joins the guys on the road for part of the tour, those friendships and her relationship with Loch only deepen. But Hailey must face her fears about love and relationships before she and Loch implode.

If rockstars are your thang, you wanna jump in on this series. It is beautiful and rich. It is deep and romantic. It is steamy but not too much. Jump in with this group and take The Oath!!

Percy’s Brides: A Double Trouble Romance by Ivy Hart was not what I expected, but I mean that in a good way. I must admit that the title threw me off a little as it implied, or I assumed, that it was a polyamorous love story — and I wasn’t sure I would enjoy that kind of story, especially in an historical setting. But I am always open to new reading experiences, so I took a chance and set off on the adventure.
As I mentioned above, this is a (western) historical romance with a mail-order bride element, meddling family, a ‘western’ small town setting, some drama, angst, and challenges—where the characters not only find love unexpectedly but also get a chance at new beginnings.
Percy is a businessman with big plans for his future- so what happens when his meddling family cause a little mayhem in his life, and not one, but two mail-order brides show up on his doorstep. You can guess how that went down. But Ms. Hart ensures that love overcomes all obstacles and ensures our MC’s HEAs.
While there were some issues with the story and some inconsistencies/contradictions in the storyline, they didn’t detract too much from my first reading experience of Ivy Hart’s work.

Shayna is doing the best she can to do right by her children. A single mom whose ex was the worst, so when Burke starts helping her out and flirting Shayna is not sure what to make of it. Burke is out of her league, he is rich and could not possibly be interested in her when she barely has it together. She couldn’t be more wrong though and when she finds herself falling hard for Burke she has to figure out if she can truly have it all.

Great chemistry, slow burn and a ton of banter that brought a smile to my face. I think this was delightful, Burke swept me off my feet. Shayna over analyzes a bit but I think it was spot on for her character as she hadn’t really dated since high school. Will be looking forward to more books in this series.

This is the story of RC and Scoob, a brother and sister who are doing everything they can to keep their lives together. It’s been a rough couple of years with their mom walking out and then their dad dying in a freak accident. RC is so excited when he gets a vehicle for him and Scoob and when he picks her up, life is grand. Scoob has good news too but it’s short-lived as RC basically kidnaps her and they head to Montana.

There are so many emotions in this story! One minute, RC is the best big brother ever and the next I want to smack him upside his head. I really felt for Scoob on many different levels as she’s trying her hardest but she’s only 12 years old and doesn’t have the level of maturity to be doing life all on her own. She’s resilient though and I admire her strength and courage.

This is a great read and I recommend it! It’s geared for middle grades but this “old girl” really enjoyed it.

I never pass up a book by this author, so I immediately grabbed this upon coming across it. Although most of their books have been more of a paranormal romance, they still knocked this romantic suspense out of the park. I truly enjoyed the inclusion of everyone and the character development. It’s a pretty quick read, but that doesn’t mean the author skimped on any details. This book does not skip any details or have any plot holes anywhere! I absolutely adore all of the characters and feel like each of their relationships are wonderful. If you’re ready for an adventure that has chemistry leaping off the pages while it twists and turns, please don’t pass this one up. I can’t wait to see what this author has in store for us next!

This is my first Time checking out work from this author Hillary Rettig. I was super glad I did. It may seem on the longer side but it is definitely worth it. This book has a lot of knowledgeable advice and awesome tips. There’s about 24 exercises throughout the whole book and every one of them is equally great to work on. Also the techniques in Part III are extremely helpful and consistently trying them out. A couple of chapters I really need to practice more than the others are ;Scheduling and Tracking Your Time, The Perils of Overgiving, and Knowing Thyself and Thy Motivations . Lmao I’m a work in progress and this is definitely helping me take the steps in the right direction. I highly recommend this book and if you haven’t gotten it I suggest you do🥰 I look forward to reading this author’s other works.

This is the first book I have read by this author, so I wasn’t sure what I was getting myself into. I was blown away by the way the characters were developed as well as the incredible world-building! The plot is expertly crafted and flows so naturally, it’s truly astounding. My attention was gripped from the very first page to the very last with plenty of twists that I didn’t see coming! The banter between characters had me giggling quite a bit, but don’t let that fool you because this book is full of suspenseful surprises. I enjoyed that the pace doesn’t have any dips at all which allows it to power through at a great speed. If you’re looking for a quick and incredible paranormal story, this should be your next book!

This is a self help book that was interesting to read. It gives suggestions on how to start work on time and be successful at it. It is a book designed to give you renewed power to your life and how to balance it with work life. It has many great ideas and I look forward to putting some into use in my own life. A balance of work and life needs to happen to stay healthy. I really enjoyed this book. I highly recommend it.

This is a series that I have enjoyed reading from the first book. It is a series that just keeps getting better and better with each book. This is the sixth book which I highly suggest reading the previous books as well as they are just as great. I enjoyed this author and never hesitate to pick up one of her books. I enjoy her ability to pull me into the character’s world with ease and keep me turning pages to the end. This book is no different. It is a well written story about how far you will go to get away from your past traumas. But what will happen when that is what could take everything away? When a choice is to be made, what will Parker decide to do? I enjoyed these characters and what they bring to the story. Parker is my favorite and he is a strong character but like everything else, he has a weakness. What happens with him is something you don’t want to miss. I found this story to be fast paced and hard to put down. There is great growth throughout the story which makes it easy to read as well as entertaining. I really enjoyed this book and I highly recommend it.
