Terror in Boring Town (A Sam and Rex Adventure, #1) by Hoot N. Holler was a fun, entertaining read, that had that old school The Hardy Boys feeling.
My first read from this author, I went in with an open mind and channeled my inner child. That wasn’t hard, cause, well, I’m a 5 year old trapped in a 30 year old body.. jk, jk.. maybe… In all seriousness, this book was as I said, fun, super engaging, and perfect if you have a young reader that likes quik humor, extra characters and a mystery that will get your mind working, then this book is perfect. Not only that, it has enough adultness, that if you wanted to make it a family read, then you’ll have just as fun a time as your litte reader.
Overall this book brought me back to a simpler time, and to my early days a reading. The wording was easy to follow, the plot was complex in a way it would be for a young reader. So yes, I did figure out what was going on pretty fast, but as this book isn’t meant for my level, I didn’t mind, or care, cause as I have said like twice or more, this book is all around fun. Like disney channel TV movie fun. It has little bit of everything, and it gets my super high recommendation and my stamp of approval.

If the Shoe Fits is the third book in the Liberty Laurence Series by Bea Stevens. This book can be read as a stand alone, but I would recommend reading the series in order. All of the books are great and they have recurring characters throughout the series. This book had me hooked from the very first page and I couldn’t put it down until the last. I love the way this author can make me laugh out loud and give such heartwarming feel good emotions. Libby is back in this story with a new dream job, that isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. The story is full of suspense, action and romance. It is really fun to watch this series spin out and I’m hope that it will continue with another story from Bea coming soon. If you are looking for a story that will make you smile, I highly recommend this book and series.

Linda Gets Her Groove Thing: A Spicy Romantic Comedy About the Afterlife (The Green Room Chronicles Book 2) By JD Frettier
I loved reading this book. I was glad to see Dee and Bonnie in this story because I really enjoyed them in first book. The books in this series can be read as a standalone but if you do read the them in order you will get to know some of the other characters and you get the bonus of a book that’s just as much fun and great to read. This is a really short read but it packs a punch and is loads of fun to read. Linda White finds herself in the green room and in order to find out what happens in the green this is a must read, but I will tell you that you will enjoy reading what these ladies have in store for Linda’s cheating ex husband. I highly recommend this book.

This starts out with three novellas. They are short, sweet and to the point. I really didn’t care for them. It just seemed the characters were very forward and within a short time they decided they loved and want marriage. Apparently I am too practical for that. The fourth one was better again until the ending…rushed. But the last one Holiday Homecoming was in my opinion the best. There was time for getting to know the other characters, some light romance along with danger and finally love. One thing I did like (which became more prevalent as the stories moved forward) was how they “kinda” built upon each other. I think that’s why I enjoyed the last the best. I actually had tears in my eyes while reading the ending of Sheryl’s story. I can’t imagine! This is an ok read and if you enjoy quick romance with a lovely family theme…this is for you!

Knights Who Won My Heart is the fourth and final book in the Knights series by Sonya Jesus. Ms. Jesus definitely pulls out all the stops and ends this series with a bang. Just when you think you know what is going to happen Ms. Jesus throws out a curve ball and leaves the reader clinging to the edge of their seat. Throughout the series we watch Amelia make tough choices and grow up along the way to become one of the strongest characters I personally have read in a while. Add in a manipulative serial killer who is the only person that knows his endgame as well as a group of “Soccer Gods” and you have the makings of a wild ride. The Knights series is one that catches your attention from the first book all the way to the last page of the last book. It is a different and refreshing read and I recommend it to any reader interested in something a little different.

Linda Gets her Groove Thing: A Spice Romantic Comedy About the After life ( The Green Room Chronicles Book 2) by JD Frettier. This is the funniest book I’ve read in a long time. Its such a short story but it will stay with you long after you’ve read it. Its the story of Linda White who has been recently widowed by a lying, cheating husband. She finds out she’s in deep debt so she can’t retire early like she thought she could. She continues to work at her Airlines job and enjoys the pleasure of her battery operated boyfriends. During a bit of a fit she throws over one of those “Boyfriends” she dies unexpectedly. She is met by fellow Green Roomers Dee Smeltzer and Bonnie Hampton who are the trouble makers. Linda tells them she wants karma on her ex husband so they introduce her to a soceress who puts a Karma like spell on her ex. Read this funny, laugh out loud short story and you will hee haw til your sides hurt. I loved it and can’t wait for the next book!

So first off I thought that this was a great children’s story! I don’t have any children in the target audience so I read and reviewed it as a teacher. I really enjoyed it and have no doubt that children in the age range would really enjoy this story and I also think that it would be great in engaging boys to read too! The plot was exciting and the characters were well thought out. The illustrations were bright and colourful and really added something to the story. There were some really good talking points too which would enable children to predict what might happen in the story. I would absolutely recommend this book for the age range that had been identified and would have no hesitation using it in my classroom!

I loved this collection of Novella’s by Melissa Keir. Each story in the collection focuses on one of the sisters and they really were all such a pleasure to read. I loved how the author made sure to make each sister different but also kept it so that you knew they were sisters. Each of their individual stories were heart-warming and sweet. We had second chance romance, relationships where people are still unsure of their sexuality, love, faith and miracles and more. Whilst I loved all of the stories I have to admit A Christmas Accident certainly had me grabbing for the tissues and those characters had my heart from the very beginning. I could feel the emotions of all the characters and cried along with them. I have read a few books by this author now and I do love her easy and relaxed writing style, she writes beautiful stories that you can’t help but be swept up in straight away. I definitely recommend Home is Where the Heart is – I can’t wait to read more from Ms Keir again in the future.

I have been waiting a long time for a new release from one of my favourite authors, Marie Skye, so I was extremely eager to get my hands on Don’t Let Me, the first book in the Simplicit Duet and as expected it didn’t disappoint at all! It was everything that I have come to love from this author, it had the heat she writes so well, the passion that she gets across to the reader and it had the characters that she makes me fall in love with as soon as I start reading about them. The secrets, the twists and the turns make for one captivating read. I always find it hard to write reviews of Ms Skye’s books not because they are bad, far, far from it but because it’s so easy to give away spoilers and I do not want to do that – so – what I will say is whether you are new to this author or not you absolutely should one click this book today! It is an amazing read and I cannot wait for the next part to see what happens!!

The Wilder sisters each have their own story. 5 completely different women, with the same heart and soul. Each novella will take you on a different rollercoaster ride. This book says it all, not what I had expected at all. I cried some really ugly tears, and sobbed long after I finished. In fact I am trying not to break down again as I write this review.
Melissa Keir has really brought a beautiful story about families. What each sibling thought and how they thought the family would react. As I read this book I kept thinking about how strong these 5 women are. I feel like this story hit my home for me. I must say I LOVE THESE WOMEN and their FAMILIES. I could not put this book down after I started it. Beautiful story Melissa Keir! I will be looking for more from this author.

Home is Where the Heart is by Melissa Keir is a collection of novellas from The Wilder Sisters. Each story focuses on a sister and her chance at romance. I like the stories and how they move work with each other. Each sister is different and has a different story to tell. I also like how they link to their connection with their dad and his illness. This was easy to relate to for myself because I have had a parent who had a serious illness. I also like the family bond that goes through each story. I really enjoyed this series and the range of emotions each evoked. I laughed and I felt the onset of tears. I look forward to more from this author in the future.

Cinderfella by Kristy Brown is a twist on a classic fairy tale. Ash is a boy who doesn’t have it all. Ellie comes from luxury and is missing her glass slipper. What happens when the two meet? I always enjoy new takes on classic stories. This was no different. The story is sweet and I was wanting the happily ever after for the two of them. This was a fun, light read during a hectic week. It gave me a break from reality and allowed me to relax and recharge. I look forward to reading more from Kristy Brown in the future.

Terror in Boring Town by Hoot N Holler is the first book in the Sam and Rex Adventure Series. I am always on the lookout for a book to catch the attention of a reluctant reader. This adventure will catch their attention. Sam and Rex living in a boring town but don’t shy away from crazy adventures. The characters are fun and are easy to relate to for children. They catch on to some new people on time and hatch a plan to confirm their suspicions. I enjoyed this book and look forward to introducing my niece to some new characters. She is always up for a mystery and adventure and I think she will like Sam and Rex. I will be looking for more books from Hoot N Holler in the future.

The Vantage Point by Amy McKinley is the next in the Gray Ghost Novel Series and is no less flipping fantastic than the other 3 books in this series. In this book you have Hawk Ares who is the epitome of the dark, brooding and silent type and then there is Stella Klein who is Hawk’s neighbor who will do anything (I mean ANYTHING) for her family. Stella tries to help her brother out of a very sticky and dangerous situation putting herself in danger right along with her brother. Hawk has always silently watched and wanted Stella but once she puts herself on the radar of a local loan shark Hawk can no longer watch from the side lines. The build of these two’s relationship is awesome right along with the story that the author weaves. What happens when both of their words collide? Will Stella listen or back down when Hawk tries to help her? Will Hawk thaw his stance on his no relationship rule? I am in love with this author’s way of telling a story and I felt a genuine connection with these characters.

Much to my mother’s chagrin, I was an adventure seeking tom boy as a kid. My friends and I would go “treasure hunting” in abandoned lots and one day I was so dirty that I had to be hosed off in the backyard before I could enter the house. As I was reading this book I was reminded of my youthful misadventures and I hadn’t thought about those times in a very long time. For me, that is a great benefit of reading, to go to a place you haven’t been before or to return to a memory you haven’t visited in a while. This is a young reader book. Again, it’s been a while since I read a young reader book, but this is definitely better than what I remember. This was full of adventure and it reminded me of the times I would fight with my big brothers to be included as well. I really liked this story, it was intriguing and entertaining, but most importantly for me, it was fun. I could see this happening in a little town, a town I would love to visit. So for me this had everything I love in a book and I can’t wait to see what these two get up to next.

Home is Where The Heart Is by Melissa Keir is a series of five stories that follow the Wilder sisters. Each story follows along the sisters as they return home to be with their family in times of need. Each and every story is emotional in its own way with many ups and downs which kept me entertained the whole way through.
I loved the layout of this book and all the detail that was provided. I found the storylines to flow quickly as each story is relatively short in length. However, all the detail made it easy for me to connect and relate to the characters and it never felt as if anything was missing.
This was my first book by this author, but it certainly won’t be my last. I look forward to reading more from Melissa in the future!

Oh my goodness I loved this family, I loved the town they lived in and I especially loved Dad!
This is 1 book that contains 5 different stories involving the different children of the Wilder Family yet each with an ongoing theme. So many parts of this entire book literally had me smiling, and others fighting back tears, I dealt with many of the issues in this book in my own life and am also the parent of 4 daughters so a lot of this story hit home in many ways.
I love this author and how she tells her stories, they always feel so real and I feel like I’m right there watching it all play out, actually wanting to be right there watching it all play out. There were a few parts that simply took my breath away!
Every one of the 5 had something that made it my favorite yet I can’t pick a favorite, it’s the stories that make the whole of this book that has made me add it to my favorite reads so far this year list

LOVE on the LINE is book two in the Great Expectations Love Stories: The Graykens by Laurie Lewis. This is the continuation of Matthew and Mikaela’s story. Mikaela, on a mission to save Matt’s life, will go to any lengths for him. Their love only grew stronger through many challenges. They face many hurdles and struggle to overcome the odds. But their love always remains the one, constant and unbreakable.
Laurie Lewis is an author that tears at your heart, breaks it, mends it, amd fills it with bliss for these couples. Gripping and emotional, LOVE on the LINE was an unputdownable story, and one that I will never forget. 5 stars.

The story Don’t Let Me (Simplicit Duet Book 1) by Marie Skye is an awesome and amazing book to read. It is a story that pulled me in from the very beginning and didn’t let me go until the very end. It is a book that has an amazing plot/storyline and equally wonderful characters. The characters are well-developed and I loved reading about them. They are dark and brooding, conflicted, and mysterious. It is a story that gets better as you read and there are times when it left my mouth hanging open. This is a book that had my emotions going up and down the entire time that I was reading it. There are very steamy scenes that make the temperature in the room rise. They will make you swoon and reach for a glass of cold water. The atmosphere that the book creates is at times dark and will have you wondering what is going to happen next. There is intense and emotional dialogue. What does the future hold for the characters in this story? Read this book to find out. This is a story I would highly recommend reading.

Everyday Enchantments: Musings on Ordinary Magic & Daily Conjurings by Maria DeBlassie is a delightful little read, of short essays. Everyday Enchantments, isn’t exactly a self-help book, but more collection of personal essays from Maria DeBlassie, to demonstrate to readers the everyday experiences we have with magic, without noticing them. This book is very good for helping readers be more mindful, and more aware of the world around you, rather than stuck in your own head. I found it personally help me practice meditation and mindfulness, whilst being outdoors and active. It helped me gain a new appreciation for the smaller things in life and how truly beautiful this world can be, when we aren’t taking it for granted. Though this type of book isn’t something I usually reach for, it was definitely a refreshing and charming read. 4/5 stars.

Everyday Enchantments: Musings on Ordinary Magic and Daily Conjurings by Maria DeBlassie is a book designed to get you thinking in a different way. This book is one that was written in a different style to that which I am used to reading and I found that refreshing. I loved that the book was almost in nice little bite sized chunks for you. For myself, running around after a one year old, it made it so much easier to read. I could pick it up and put it down easily, falling straight back into the authors rhythm every time I did. It really helps you to reflect on your everyday life and news ways of thinking about things. This is honestly the type of book that I never thought I would read but I am so glad I did. Brilliant from start to finish I would highly recommend everyone give this book a go!
Misfortune of Song (The Druid’s Brooch series, Book 5) 4 out of 5 stars
The Druid’s Brooch series does not fall under the category of genres I read very often but with books so well written, I’ve gladly made an exception. Misfortune of Song is the fifth book in the series by Christy Nicholas but it can easily be read by itself; in fact I’ve been reading this series out of order. Once again Christy Nicholas has captured me with her storytelling, in depth characters and fantastic imagery. The storyline had a bit of everything to keep me engaged and my emotions on edge. I believe in my last review I stated that the book I had just read was my favorite in the series, I’d have to go back on my word and say Misfortune of Song has stolen that spot. Let this be an example of the kind of series this is, once you think you couldn’t love the books anymore, you read the next installment. Misfortune of Song has introduced me to a whole new world and much welcomed break from reality, if only for a short period. I will be recommending this author/series to anyone I know that’s looking for a fantastic read all around.

Man With the Mafia is the second book in the Man With Series by Debra J. Falasco. This was my first book by Ms. Falasco, so I wasn’t sure of what to expect going in. I love a good mafia romance, so I was won over by the blurb, and the beautiful cover. What I found between the covers was a wonderful story, which had me hooked quite quickly. I loved it, and became quite intrigued about the other (recurring) characters, so I went back and one-clicked it to read too. Deidre Collins is new to the neighbourhood, having left her home and great friends behind at Virginia Beach to get a fresh start. She’s a romance writer approaching thirty, who has quite a bit of baggage from her previous relationship which ended badly. She just wants to get on with her life, settle in, make friends, and write her stories. She’s definitely not interested in another relationship. So, why does a certain man make her swoon whenever he’s near? Vincent Manetti is an attorney who grew up in the neighbourhood. He works hard, and is very good at what he does. This is a mafia romance, with a bit of a twist. There is suspense, drama, secrets, misunderstandings, doubts, trust issues, danger, intrigue, hidden agendas, charged chemistry, passion, and insta-love. The characters are all really well developed- and are quirky, interesting and multidimensional. I really loved Deidre and Vincent- they were really easy to get invested. The secondary characters also added to the storyline, especially Deidre’s friends, and the (quirky) neighbourhood residents. I think Carlo needs his own story- and Vincent’s brother has me intrigued too. The story is told from several Points of view, which made for some really great reading. It has a smooth flow and is very easy to read. I devoured it in a few hours. The story unfolds along the same timeline as the first book- but you don’t need to have read that book before starting this one- they can both be read as standalones. The only ‘issue’ that I have is that the story felt quite rushed at the end, and some of the ‘threads’ weren’t completely tied up. For me there seemed to be a few unresolved issues that were a little skirted over and not fully addressed. And what happened to the kitten? Was he left out at the cabin to fend for himself? Yes, I am worried about a fictional Kitten, don’t judge. And then there were a few minor inconsistencies in the storyline, such as this- (At the beginning of chapter 11): “Open the door, Deirdre.” It was the first time I’d ever said her name. It felt like honey on my tongue. Thick, rich, sweet honey………. BUT way back at the end of chapter 5 we already read this: “I’m not going to call you Dee, especially if the other men in your life did. And yes, Deirdre, we are going to be friends. Very good friends.” But, having said that I really did enjoy the book and will definitely be stalking Ms. Falasco in future so I can keep up with all her new releases when they happen. Can’t wait to read book #3- Man With A Castle.

Devil’s Backbone was a good 4 star read and book 5 in the Wild Beasts series.
This is Tess and Ben’s story. I was pulled in right from the beginning. Tess’s childhood wasn’t great, her parents experimented on her quite often. When she finally got away she lived with her pet lizard staying away from others as much as she could. When she makes a discovery, it’s something than sends her spiraling into fear.
Ben is a protector and has been sent to investigate the murders and missing persons cases. Tess ends up helping Ben and they start to grow closer. Can they discover who the killer is? Can they find a HEA with each other?
There are some very interesting secondary characters that added a great element to the story. I really liked Ben and Tess, they were good for each other. MISFORTUNE OF SONG Druid’s Brooch Series, #5 by Christy Nicholas was a great read. I love that her fae characters aren’t cutesy little fairies that I’ve seen in the past. It is very well written and even though it’s a part of a series you could read it as a stand-alone. I had so many emotions while reading this, I couldn’t put it down!

A Person Could Disappear Here by Terry George is a mind bending read in a sense that it feels so real that you feel chills running down your spine … it is an emotional story that tells us a story how far we might go in search of a perfect partner … it is scary … it reminds me of those many stories we have seen in the news and been horrified by … It is also a story of faith and hope and courage … We have Abbey who comes all the way from the UK to meet with the guy she has met online … Jensen … he seems so perfect … and he is so skilled at playing her! You can imagine what happens next … And then there is Cristina, Abbey’s best friend since they were five years old! Best friends never give up! She knows something has happened to Abbey so she grabs her brother and they head to the US to find Abbey! The writer tells us majority of the story through Abbey’s journal entries and that makes it even more real, it makes you to start thinking what it means to have no control over your life, your body … no way out … what would you do in Abbey’s shoes?

Talk about Mind blown! I was all into this story, thinking it was going down one road and boy oh boy does it take an unexpected turn. I won’t be giving even one detail away, as all of this needs to be read to appreciate and understand the amazing book this is. I want a bestfriend like in this book, she was amazing and persistent. This book is written in part diary form, and part present tense and was easily followed. I have now found a new author to follow!

The Wicked Earl’s Widow by Aubrey Wynne was an okay read, that for me, fell a little shot, but saved itself at the end.
Not my first read from this author, so I was looking forward to reading this novella. From this author’s persvoice works, that I quite enjoyed, this short story was a mixed feels read for me.
So let’s get into it shall we.
This book starts out nice, smooth and entertaining. As the story moves forward and we get more into that world and the plot, things start to take a weird turn when the love interest shows up. Normally at this point, the romance portion of the plot kicks in, and we get all the melty feels, and the heat. But, that wasn’t the case, it felt flat and for me, never formed a realistic connection. For a book that’s presented as romance heavy, and to not deliver, was a let down, and a bit disappointing.
Now not all was lost, as the ending was a little bit of a shocker, and I’m glad the author went there. That took guts and it saved this read for me. Outside of the ending, I did like the side plots and the side characters. It created a nice balance that helped with the lacking romance.
Overall the story was good, it had promising elements, and it did keep my attention. I just wish the romance was just as strong, because it would have rounded out this story into something magical. But just remember that what I have problems with, you might not, so please take my recommendation and my approval that you will find something to love about this historical fiction.

The Protector: MAC is the first full novel in the Cover Six Security series by Lisa B. Kamps as well as my first book by this author. Let’s just say I was little lost at first because the first scene started with Tabitha “TR” drowning and talking about her date with Mac. So of course, I thought I was missing something (there is novella before this book), but Lisa explains more about how the couples meet as I kept reading. That’s when the book just kept me on my toes with the suspense and the heat between TR and Mac. It was yummy and lit my kindle on fire. The secondary characters were also interesting and Hot Alphas, I need to know more about the boys of Cover Six Security – Daryl is up next and I can’t wait.
