Fools Rush In: Interstellar Rescue Series Book 3 by Donna S. Frelick
This was an enjoyable read, and I’m glad I got to know some of the characters from the other books better. I have read the first two books in this series and they were a great read as well so I suggest reading them but you don’t have to read them to enjoy and follow this one. This book is more of a prequel to the other 2 books. It is full of action and adventure, there also some steamy moments. The author is very detailed and makes you feel as though you can picture these places in your mind. I like this author’s writing style, the story flows so well and there are wonderful characters. This series as a whole has been an entertaining read that I thoroughly enjoyed. I recommend this book and this series.

Truck Stopped (Satan’s Devils MC #11) by Manda Mellett 4 Stars!!!! This is just another great addition to this series. I was hooked from the beginning. I really enjoyed how the author told the story in a past tense story fashion. The characters just really jumped out of the book and into my imagination. There was just the right amount of drama with just the undertone of romance.
I really felt myself relate to Allie as I had a moderate form of the pregnancy illness she had. I totally found myself remembering that time and felt that the author really brings this to attention. I also found the authors use of PTSD really well written. There are so many things that can cause this and I found her use to be very insightful. I really found myself routing for Truck and Allie and found myself on the edge of my seat to see how things would end up. There are so many things that could have gone wrong but their relationship and characters were so strong it really made the book. Fools Rush In by Donna S. Frelick is listed as book number 3 in the Interstellar Rescue Series, however this storyline takes place before what was written in book 2. Although it made me feel a bit out of sorts, I don’t feel as if you would need to read the first two books in the series to understand these characters or the plot of the novel. I feel like this book could be read as a stand-alone. Overall I really enjoyed the development of this story and Donnas’ writing is brilliant, as usual. The character descriptions were flawless and there was a perfect balance between steamy scenes and action packed battles! Rayna Carver is an agent for Rescue. Her job is to go undercover on slave ships and rescue those who have been stolen into slavery. She is on the job, undercover, when the ship she is on is attacked and hijacked by pirates. Once aboard the pirate ship, known as the Shadowhawk, she meets Captain Sam Murphy. At first Rayna isn’t too fond of Murphy, whom she refers to as Captain Snark, but at the same time she is attracted to him. Captain Sam Murphy meets Rayna Carver feels frustration, tension, and arousal? She comes to him with questions and demands, after all she still has a job to do. When things start going wrong with the ship they have to pair up to figure out what is going on and how to put an end to it. There is also the fact that there are two spies, working for a government, set on sabotaging the arms factory that Rayna is working at. There are so many twist and turns in this story. It will keep you on your toes and at the edge of your seat.

A Perfect Fit by Zoe Lee is a really cute, sweet story. It is my first read by Zoe Lee, so I wasn’t entirely sure of what I might find once I started the book. But the blurb intrigued me, so I took a chance- and I am glad I did. It is a fairly light-hearted, small town romance- with a warm ‘n’ fuzzy, feel-good story that was delightful, funny, sexy, emotive, and fun. The characters were great, and I loved their banter, antics, quips, and personalities. Daisy Reis wants to leave her past behind, but her small town won’t let her forget. So, when she meets Dunk, she does something completely out of character. Resulting in a one night stand with the slightly awkward, but very sexy coach. Dunk McCoy is a hoot. After a night of drinking, he wakes up in the morning thinking their encounter was nothing but a really sexy dream- until he realises that it had to have been real. And so he sets about trying to track her down. The story does have a bit of a Cinderella-esque vibe to it- which I thought was quite fun. This may have been my first read from Zoe Lee, but it definitely won’t be the last- I will certainly be looking out for more of her work/s to read in the future!

This is a well written story about following your dream because life isn’t always “sunshine and rainbows. Money helps tremendously, but it doesn’t solve everything .”
This story has a plotline that flows perfectly with a little angst, family of choice vs family of origin, romance and redemption.

A great series about luck. In the Confectioners Guild, Wren is a simple confectioner who gets the chance of the lifetime that comes with a terrible price when the guildmaster is killed and she is blamed for it. In the Confectioners Coup, an army arrives on Maradis and guildmasters start mysteriously disappearing and Wren and her friends search for the truth. In the Confectioners Truth, a new enemy rules over the land and Wren and her friends go on the run trying to flee the new regime. Can Wren and her friends survive it all A great read. Well developed plot with twists and turns that I just couldn’t put down. Well developed characters like Wren wanting to belong somewhere or Lucas’ kindheartedness or the humourous Hale or the stern Callidus. A brilliant example of world building in a fantasy world with its rules and societies and geography and history that was detailed with care for the audience to imagine. The idea of magic bakers was a fun and fantastic idea and was a brilliant addition to the fantasy genre. The passion for baking in Wren was a lovely touch. Fast paced action and high stakes in a wonderful fantasy world made for a captivating read. Overall, a great read and I would give it five stars

A Perfect Fit by Zoe Lee is such a cute small town read. I really enjoyed this book.
Daisy never expected, or even wanted to be the “sweet girl” her entire life. She can’t stand that the whole town thinks she can’t do anything wrong. As she’s leaving a wedding reception, she runs into Dunk McCoy. Dunk is always the fun, happy go lucky guy. Always up for a good time. Not many people see passed that it seems. Once he realizes that it’s Daisy he’s looking for, he realizes she sees him for more than just the happy guy. They seem to fit perfectly. Nothing is ever that easy and while things seem to be going smooth, there’s just something Dunk can’t get past. Will these two realize how perfectly they fit or will they need help?
I really enjoyed this book. The characters are so relatable it was easy to see where they stood and why they felt the way they did. Dunk is such a sweetheart! I definitely recommend this book!

Truck Stopped is the eleventh book in the Satan’s Devils MC series. Even though this story can be read as a standalone, I highly recommend reading other books in the series. They are excellent.
I was waiting for this book. After being mentioned in other books, there wasn’t a lot of detail about what was happening with Truck. I really wanted to see how things played out. I don’t know what I was expecting, but this book got me right in the feels. It was an intensely emotional story. The author is extremely good at making the characters come to life and you feel what they feel as you read. And, as with the other stories in this series, the author has tackled some real life struggles that brings a new awareness to the life experiences of others and what they might be struggling with.

I liked this because it’s about an mid-age couple. Something that you don’t see every day. They are living their life and one chance meeting will alter the course. I loved the idea of Spencer writing music. I can’t even imagine the talent it takes so this always impresses me. I hope the career takes off for him as it seems he has been doing it a while. Singing is great as well (something I only do in my car or alone). I can’t imagine putting myself out there for many years over and over. Melanie seems to have the singing career but is struggling to make that last step. They are both wanting to follow a dream.
This is the second book in this series. It can easily be read as a stand alone. This is my second book by this author. She does a good job on making the characters well rounded and get better as the story moves forward. It was nice to see characters from the first book.

Not So Wrong (Love Grows Book 2) by Renee Regent is a beautiful romance story about two people on the opposite sides of reality and the most unlikely couple to fall in love. But when you make music and have such a passion for something you love then they make their own music. Renee has written a wonderful story that you cannot stop reading until you have finished the whole book.
Spencer is a billionaire who has secrets, ones he doesn’t want anyone to know, ones that could destroy him but when he meets a woman with the voice of an angel he longs for more than he ever has before. Melanie has longed for the love of her life to become a reality but after so long being in pursuit of her dreams, she is about to give. However, when she meets a kindred soul she must choice between the family that needs her and the man with a passion to match her own. I fell in love with the characters and know you will too. I am looking forward to what comes next.

Discovery (The Orphan Train Saga Book 1) by Sherry A. Burton is a historical drama. The story’s premise is based on the real Orphan Trains and the events that surrounded the orphan children of that time in America. Sherry did a great job of mixing fact with fiction and made it into something that you will feel all the way to your soul. It is definitely an emotional read and one that will make your heartache. You feel everything that the character went through, with her survival and hardships, love and loss, pain and longing and worst of all her suffering.
The story is told in the present by a granddaughter, who reads journals about the life her grandmother was forced to live. Set in 1921 we learn about one woman and everything that transpired in her life from the time she went to the orphanage. After reading what she went through, they have a much better understanding of the woman that they knew.
The story is well written and I look forward to the next book.

5 Star Claimed (The Torzial Affair Book 3) by Via Mari
Claimed is the third book in The Torzial Affair Series by Via Mari. I was hooked from the beginning and couldn’t stop reading till the end. I highly recommend reading this series in order as you will get a better understanding of what is going on. This is the continuation of Jenny and Brian’s story and we pick right up where the second book left off. Jenny just got the verdict and is free but it’s far from over. Danger is still lurking. Someone wants her silenced and Brian is willing to do anything for it not to happen. This story is a nail biting on the edge of your seat trying to figure out what happens next especially with all the twists and turns. Its suspenseful and has just enough action to keep you hooked. Can Brian protect Jenny and keep her safe? Find out what happens next. I can’t recommend this book and the whole series enough. It’s a must read you won’t regret it I know I didn’t. I can’t wait to see what this Author has for us next.

I have really loved this series! This could be a standalone, but it is nice knowing some of the back information. I loved getting updates on previous couples, and I loved the flash forwards in this book. Manda Mellett has done a wonderful job with this series!
This is Truck’s and Allie’s story. They had to endure ups, downs, and all arounds. They each already endured so much. Each showed their strength even when they had so much trauma.

1. Seamless transition from past to present and back again. While there no chapter headings to indicate the timeline, it is easily recognized.
2. Two stories in one. Both past and present stories are fully actualized and could stand on their own.
3. Cadence of writing. There is a quickness to this story and the way the chapters are laid out. Short and to the point, no filler or wasted actions.
4. Great character development. Secondary characters play a vital roll in the story and there is no guesswork as to who they work for.
5. This story held my interest from beginning to end. I was invested in both stories from the very beginning and needed to keep reading to find out how it ends.
The Flood by Meghan O’Flynn is an excellent 5-star crime thriller. I was riveted and could not stop reading. The storyline definitely bit one of my worst fears with the group being stuck in a bunker underground. I could easily imagine the characters fear and anxiety. O’Flynn does an amazing job with her imagery and character development in this novel. I loved Victoria’s character the most of all. She was brave and stayed strong. This novel was addicting and definitely worth it’s 5-stars. I have yet to read a book by this author that I have not liked.

This is going to be a short and sweet review because I have many emotions running through me after finishing this treasure. Melancholy…that’s my major emotion. Manda Mellett laid it all out and everything fell into perfect place. I am happy, sad and felt myself tear up more than a few times. Some of it is saying goodbye to characters I have seen grow from prospects to old men. They have spent their lives with me. The other is because the main characters rock their story hard! I expect no less from Manda and in this one…with characters we have known for quite a while now?? Well she couldn’t have done them any better.
Allie, a character we have loved to hate, is now one we learn to love. What a turn around! And Well….. Truck? We have loved him from Prospect. Two different characters put through a ringer and come out reshaped on the other side.
I also want to say I appreciate the mention of the body changes to Allie. That is something a woman would be concerned about. Then what Truck did? Was simply perfect!

Another good book by this author. I always like reading shifter books with a twist. Something that is a little different than the norm. And this one did not disappoint. There was enough drama and twists in the story to make it interesting and not at all predictable. It also included a bit of romance, which I like. Dangerously Close to Extinction is definitely worth a read and I look forward to reading more from C.A. King.

This series is centered around Wren, a teenage girl who has had a rough start to life. The only thing she is good at is baking. She is an apprentice at a bakery and it’s not the best life, but it’s better than she’s had. Then she gets the dream of her life — a chance to be in the Confectioner’s Guild. It is a dream come true. But the dream quickly turns bad. She is thrust into suspicion and plots beyond what she can believe. Things seem darker as the books continue, but Wren quickly learns to believe in herself and trust in her friends. Can they turn things around and make it better for all the people who live there? Or will the price be too large?
This series is incredible. It is unlike anything I have read before and the author weaves a world that feels so real, you quickly become part of it. This is a series for all ages, not just young adult. The characters are great! There are some you love and others you love to hate. Plus you really see them grow as the series moves on.
If you are a fan of magic, great worlds, and excellent characters, this series is for you and I highly recommend it.

September Breeze (Cinnamon Bay Romance Book 2) by Nikki Lynn Barrett – Review by Randall Murphy The setting is a quaint quirky little Bay-side town with all the adorable characters and close-knit environment that normally accompanies them. The plot is deep and had me laughing, smiling, and even misty-eyed at times. This story will draw you in and hold you captivated while it teaches some important life lessons. The characters will make you fall in love with them as well as the story. This story will make you want to know more about the town and the “magic love potion” that the old ladies brag about.

The Confectioner Chronicle by Claire Luana 5 stars!!!!!
I have to say that this series is a really great read. Whether you are sat on a beach or just relaxing at home this is a perfect read. I enjoyed this series a lot even though it wasn’t my go to genre. I really like how the author was able to weave just enough drama and intrigue into the story. Each book blends right with the one before it.
Book 1 The Confectioner’s Guild (The Confectioner Chronicles book 1) by Clarie Luana
What can I say but I absolutely have fallen for this series. The author has such a unique way of bringing the characters to life and I felt as though I was actually in the story. The refreshing way that you are drawn into the book and just feel as though you are escaping into the world that the author has developed. I just couldn’t put this book down.
I really felt drawn to Wren from the very start. The drama that unfolds around her brings you to the edge of your seat with anticipation. I liked how the author was able to not only throw in drama and intrigue but also weaved in just the touch of romance to boot. I really enjoyed the dynamic between Wren, Sable and Hale. Into the mix you have the chemistry between Wren and Lucas. The whole dynamic just adds to the intrigue in the book. I really cannot wait for the next book in this series. To get to delve more into the lives of the Confectioners and their world alongside the other guilds and see where the magic leads.
Book 2 The Confectioner’s Coup (Confectioner Chronicles Book 2) by Claire Luana
I am once again no let down. This is the second book in this series and the third book including the prequel to the series that I have read. The author really has such a great way of grabbing the reader and keeping you at the edge of your seat. I really found myself getting lost in this magical confectioner’s world she has created.
Book 3 The Confectioner’s Truth (Confectioner Chronicles Book 3) by Claire Luana
I couldn’t wait to get delved into this book and boy I wasn’t disappointed. This is the third book in the series and fourth one I have read by this author. The books just keep getting better and better. I was drawn in from the first page and couldn’t put the book down.
The author does such a wonderful job of keeping the drama going from book to book. There seems to be a smooth transition from the fist straight through to the third book in this series. To get to follow more the lives of Wren and her fellow confectioners as the head into the pending war kept me glued to the edge of my seat. The way that the drama unfolds keeps your attention. I wasn’t disappointed as I continued to read as the drama unfolded in this book. I really will be reading more from this author in the future and hopefully there will be more in this series.
I have to say that the more I read about Wren’s life the more I really find I am drawn to her character. She has gone through so much in her short time in the Guild and then to have to endure more. She is a very strong leading character and the author does such a great job of developing her character around the drama that unfolds. I really felt all the emotions vicariously as Wren went through them and in this book she has a roller coaster of them. She winds up losing so much and yet she still has Lucas. I really felt my heart in my throat as the book came to the ending and once again to have the book on a cliff hanger of sorts really has me anxious for the next book in the series. I will definitely be reading more from this author and the series.
The characters just seem to jump right out of the pages and into your imagination. I felt as though I was part of the action as it all unfolded. I really found the concept of the series to be quite unique and refreshing. The story is quite well written and easy to read. I definitely recommend this sereies and this author.

I just don’t know where to begin with this review. Laurie Lewis has sat within the top of my “favorite authors ever” list since the first book I read by her, and that has not changed and I don’t think ever will. Each book is different, there is no pattern to her storylines and when I open a book that she has written I make sure I can read it in its entirety because that is what normally happens.
Secrets Never Die had me all twisted up, it was a never ending roller coaster ride constantly having me speculating the next move and finally just giving up and enjoying the ride. Being completely hooked happened on like page 1 and it never let up from there. The storyline was so unique and so precise with no stones left unturned, I was left with no questions or confusion, just simply wanting more! I did not want this story to end. I wouldn’t be telling the truth if I said I never got confused while reading because there were so many dips and curves along the way but it just took sitting and lining everything up in my mind to keep me on track. I can not even try to sum up what happened in this book except to say that the characters were amazing. I loved some, I liked some, and I strongly disliked some and there were a few parts where they made me smile. Suspense with a good mystery is one of my favorite genres and Miss Lewis hit this one out of the park.
I would love more from this town and these characters, I would love to know how the trip to Idaho turned out, but for now I’m going to go ahead and allow this story to end in my mind the way I want it to 🙂
Highly recommend this and anything by this author. She is truly amazing and sets the bar high with every book and then meets it or beats it on the next.

This is a first time author for me. This seems to be the third in the series. I haven’t read the other and I had no problem following along with this one. The story was good and at first we seem to zing right along. I loved the whole looking for Cinderella part. Then something happened. I’m not sure if it was all the puns but the tone of the story seemed to change. It was all fun while he was looking for Cinderella but once he found her and they went out. It was too much. Who wants to hear about other women when you are with a guy? And what he has done with them? No thank you. After that hiccup it seems to straighten back out and take on a romantic tone.
The writing seemed fairly smooth. A few times I needed to go back and reread trying to figure out what the author meant. I did love the bro time that Dunk had with Aden. That was nice and bro talks are always enlightening. The characters had some fun and had depth to them. Overall this is a nice read.

The Confectioner Chronicles: The Complete Fantasy Mystery Series by Claire Luana is a fantastic series that will keep you hooked from start to finish. Claire Luana is an absolute talent when it comes to creating a world that will have you gripped. She creates characters that are so vivid and captivating. Wren is exactly this type of character. She carries the whole of this story beautifully. She is strong and fiesty and you can’t help but fall in love with her. This is one of those series that should be on everyone’s must read list!

Discovery (The Orphan Train Saga Book 1) by Sherry A. Burton was was a pretty interesting read that kept me reading.
My first read by this author, I went in with an open mind, and just hit the grow running. I fall easy into this book, as it was well written, had a nice flow, and I liked the back and forth between past and present. I normally don’t read books like this, so it was a nice step out of my normal comfort zone. The were many different elements, that all came to gather for an original intriguing read. I like the MC’s voice, and the stories about her grandmother. It was a nice step back in time, and I fully enjoyed this read.
Overall this book is fit for all ages and it will take you back to a crazy time in this woman life. It’s a good way to see just how much we don’t know about or loved ones, like grandmothers. They are the closes strangers you’ll ever love. To end this book gets my super high recommendation and my stamp go approval.

The story Not So Wrong (Love Grows Book 2) by Renee Regent is a contemporary/new adult romance book and it’s the second book that I have read by this author. The characters are well written and amazing and the things that they had to deal with in this story made them feel real. The plot was awesome. What happens when a billionaire who can’t face his past and an independent woman who has given up on her future meet? They have nothing in common except music so what can they offer each other? Will the perfect song give them a future, or tear them apart? Melanie after years of trying to make it as a singer, it’s time to stop chasing a dream that won’t come true. Her family needs her, and soon she’ll be leaving Atlanta for good. But Spencer Colebank is tempting her to stay, with hope the song they wrote together will win us a record deal. Spencer thinks Melanie Parker, sings like an angel gone bad, has taken his heart. His family’s business expectations have always taken priority, but writing their song together has inspired him to stop hiding his musical talent and show the world who he really is. But his past mistakes have come back to haunt him, and honoring the promise he can’t break means risking everything they’ve built together. Shameless by Sherry A. Burton a four-star read that will take you back. This is the second story in the Orphan Train Saga and the story and characters may be fictional they history behind it is real, it was something I had never heard of before starting this series but the more I look into it, the more it surprises me with its depth of history. I would definitely recommend you read the saga in order as the story does progress through. We get to hear more about Tobias in this story, from his hard start, to even harder journey. It will break your heart reading about his struggles. But the author does a great job of sucking it in and giving you a positive side as well, even in all the darkness.

A great read about rebellion. Milenda and Jaali have lived in peace in Isvarld for a few years now. But nothing is ever constant and soon they are called back to Afrika. They return into murky waters in order to save both the Natalans and the Fjordens who have been enslaved for years. Can they survive long enough to see long term peace in their lives and their nation? A great read. Well developed plot with twists and turns that I just couldn’t put down. Well developed characters like Milenda courageous but caring underneath or Jaali stubborn but anxious underneath. Great cast of supporting characters like the sweet Johari or the Mama Nyeusi as the voice of reason and humour or the sarcastic gods later on. I loved the visual detail throughout the novel like with the jungle with its ferns and fronds and river full of sights and sounds so vivid it’s as if you’re actually there. Or the marketplace full of life and people and colourful fruits and cloths beautifully written. Or the scenes in the shrine with the little love seat and the flowers a small spot of paradise wonderfully written. The switch of perspectives worked well to display both sides of events and was easy to follow with names in the sections. Fast paced action and high stakes made for a captivating read. Overall, a great read and I would give it five stars.
