Marcy is a happy woman with a man she loves and a successful business who seems to develop anger issues out of the blue. Faced with getting help or losing her boyfriend, Marcy decides to get help and get to the bottom of her issues. I actually read the second book in this series first and I’m glad I did. This book for me moved very slow and it felt like it took me forever to read, not to mention the emotional back and forth with Brad will give you whip lash. Brad is not very likable in this book and I think he needs to work on his own issues. Book 2 definitely picks up and was better for me, so the series is worth the read.

I have enjoyed every single novel from this series’s so far and this one was no different i fell inlove with this story right from the very start! You cannot read this as a standalone it’s best to read them all right from the start plus trust me they are worth sticking your teeth into! This storyline was brilliant and beautifully written it reeled me in and kept me captivated from start to finish, it took me on a emotional ride at points i was holding back the tears. Danny you really love him but you want to hate him but i feel like with that you feel more connected with him he seems so much more real. I truly enjoyed this novel and i can’t wait to read more from this incredibly talented author!!!

Misfortune of Vision by Christy Nicholas Druid’s Brooch Series Book 4 My rating: 5 out of 5 stars
This book is a great addition to the series. I liked this story a lot, seeing Orlagh at a different age and getting to know as a reader, the connections she had between the multiple characters we have met. This book goes back and forth between Orlagh’s point of view and that of her grandson Declan.
Orlagh is getting older and is the last person from her family line to possess the brooch. She has to go in search of someone from her bloodline to take over the brooch but it seems that is a little bit more tricky than she anticipated. Along with her she takes Clodagh, a young orphan whom she has taken in to train, and Cu-uladh, an older warrior and friend. They set out on a journey to find one of her grandsons and meet many complications on the way.
Declan has been on his own for awhile now and still at a young age could easily jump into life as a working man and settle down. In my opinion I think he is a hard worker but, he is not very good at doing anything other than singing. I believe he can be taught and learn to become great at a specific trade but, he is greedy and selfish which will not turn out great for him in the end.
When Declan and Orlagh finally meet up, Orlagh is hesitant to give the brooch to Declan because she can already see the greed in his eyes and knows that he wouldn’t truly hold on to the brooch or protect its powers. After this Orlagh goes on a quest, and has to call upon the services of Ammatan in the faerie world to help with finding someone with her true bloodline to keep the brooch.
Overall a great read, I don’t want to say much more and give away all of the drama that happens but, there is some juicy drama that unfolds in the end, and in my opinion everyone got what they deserved!

A fantastic start to the Reigning Hearts series. This novel is based in a sleepy Florida seaside town. Aspiring artist Emeline Fischer has lived there her whole life but her best friend Thomas “Cappy” Capshaw left for college at 18 and didn’t come back. When his beloved grandfather, Pop, dies and leaves him Cap Cottage, Thomas returns home to tie up his will. A chance encounter with Emeline in the local diner, reignites feelings he thought were long-buried, but can he give up his life as a prestigious New York architect for a small-town life after all these years? I really enjoyed this book, it was just the right balance of sentimentality, feel good and reality. I liked the characters of Emmy and Cappy, and the fact that they weren’t perfect, they made mistakes and had to sort them out. I particularly liked the seaside setting and the fact that Emmy could “run to the sea” whenever she needed to escape. Wouldn’t we all like that? It was a romantic and love-filled story about following your instincts and your dreams, but above all valuing friendship. 5/5 for me. Can’t wait to read book 2.

That’s a Wrap was another entertaining 4 star read by Heather Silvio. I have thoroughly enjoyed all of the books in this series, they are all different with new lead characters but we also see characters from previous stories still pop up too. This was a quick read but there was nothing missing at all. I’ve not read about a nixie before, in fact I had no idea what one was so I loved that this was something completely new to me! I loved Mia! I thought that she was a great character! I really enjoyed reading about her and I absolutely adored her and Jacob! They had a great chemistry between them! I was glued to this story throughout and it made me smile so many times. I really have found these stories to be really refreshing and easy to read! I really hope that there is more to come from this author in the future – I will definitely be keeping my eyes open for any new releases from her!

I loved this! I really enjoyed this easy to read story. The whole romance is amazingly sweet and very romantic. Sean was an quandary to me. He seemed so normal (and amazing) but there is that pesky “I see dead people” issue. That would be a huge pill to swallow and keep down. Although I was intrigued by that side of him. His past issues and how easy he accepted it. I loved his temperament through the story.
I have never been a fan of ghost books. Oh i loves to tell ghost stories but never in with a romance. This is one that i could easily read again and again. It didn’t insert the whole ghost theme as a romantic partner but as a secondary level. I liked that. I will think a little differently about getting a “chill” in the room now though. The whole ghost part was interesting to me. I would be curious how much is true and I wonder if a trip to the French Quarter should be in my future.
This is a smooth story that sparks your tummy flutters as well as firing your suspicion. It has heart and me smile! Another wonderful story by Carrie Pulkinen

MaddJax Boxed Series Set (Book 1 & 2) is a Second Chance Stepbrother/co-CEO Romance by Deborah Ann. I cannot recall reading this author’s work before, and was delighted at the great storyline and always dramatic twists to the story. Maddison and Jaxon were meant to be together. But with them being step siblings, things were a lot complicated. The author stretched this out with intense determination. Frustrating and baffling at times, the intrigue, drama and theatrics should be commended. They kept me riveted to the pages. I could have shaken some sense into Maddison at times, but overall she was a fun, edgy and modern classy woman suppressing her darkest desires. Jax, on the other hand, was an open book when it came to his feelings for Maddison. He was in your face, brutally honest, and sexy all in one built package.
A fantastic series that flowed easily, extravagantly and effortlessly. A must for lovers of the forbidden. 4 stars.

The story Trickster’s Hunt (Three Tricksters Book 1) by Carrie Whitethorne is a paranormal/fantasy romance book the I loved reading. It pulled me in from the very beginning and didn’t let me go until I had read the final page. It has magic, mystery, and genies. I loved reading about the main female character. She is independent and because of the past not looking for a man. That is when three find her. There is Silas, Rhett, and Amos. They show up and an attraction begins for each of them. They feel drawn to her and have sworn to protect her. She wants to know what they are protecting her from. They stay close by her side. Will the questions that arise be answered? What does the future hold for the four of them? Read this book to find out. I loved reading about the three genies that are drawn to the main female character. There is bantering that goes back and forth. The desire that is felt by all is strong and some scenes have the temperature in the room rising. This is a book that I would highly recommend reading. It is the first story in a series and I look forward to reading the next one.

The story Rage (The Marcy Series Book 1) by Linda Burson is a book that I enjoyed reading. It is a story that draws you in and didn’t let me go until I have read the final page. It is a book that had my emotions going up and down the entire time I was reading it. I enjoyed reading about the characters of Marcy and Liam. Marcy is an intelligent, beautiful, and feisty woman. She runs a business and some of those who work with her are more like family than employees. The love of her life has given her an ultimatum to seek help for her anger, frustrations because of nightmares that she is having. She also is a woman who finds herself falling in love with Liam. Liam is a man who is on a quest to find those responsible for his family’s murder and finds an ally in Marcy. Liam’s character is mysterious and as the story unfolds I found myself with many questions about him. Marcy is conflicted and at times overwhelmed. Read this story for an emotional rollercoaster that will have you turning pages wondering what will happen next. There are other characters that are introduced in this story and many of them I enjoyed reading about and their interactions with Marcy. There is intense dialogue. I grew to care about Marcy and there are situations in which I could empathize with her and what she experiences. This is a wonderful book to read and one that will keep you reading far into the night to find out what happens. Recommended reading.

First and foremost, I absolutely love the cover of this novel. While it’s much like those in the rest of the series the colors to me, are gorgeous. Moving on, I’ve come to expect rich, vivid storytelling from Christy Nicholas. Typically my genre of choice is a thriller of some sort so the Druid’s Brooch series is a testament to how addictive great writing can be. While these books don’t need to be read in order (I actually bounce from book to boom) I have been invested in seeing if the next book really does beat the one before it. If you are interested in historical writing and a mix with fantasy I would recommend giving this book a go.

I absolutely loved Run to the Sea by K.G. Fletcher. It is the first book in the Reigning Hearts series, and I cant wait to read more. The story was so sweet and while it had some sad moments, the happily ever after was appreciated. This is the story of Emeline Fischer and Thomas Capshaw. They were best friends as children, and lost touch after Thomas, or Cappy, went to college. He finds himself lonely and trapped in New York City, stuck in a job he doesn’t enjoy and in a relationship with a woman he doesn’t love. He returns home to settle his grandfather’s estate after he passed away, and ran into Emeline, or Emmy, on his first day back home. Their reunion was not pretty, and she all but storms out. She is a waitress in a diner, as well as works various jobs throughout town. She is the epitome of a struggling artist, painting in all her free time. This was a collection of short stories that would tempt a saint. Every story was different but hot in it’s own way. I really enjoyed all the stories. I wish they were longer. The first one Just Once had my mouth on the floor. Like what just happened. Every story was steamy and filled with so much temptation. It was exotic and imaginative. I really liked how the author included different themes to each story. Nothing was the same. The guys were yummy but the girls in these stories were HOT! The author had a very smooth and detailed writing style. I can only image it’s better with a longer story.

Next Door Knight by Nicole Flockton was sweet and romantic. Kerry and her therapy dog Willow recently moved to the area to help her dad who is recovering from two broken legs. She meets her attractive yet moody neighbor Caleb after Willow gets loose. Caleb has been struggling with loss, PTSD, and many other emotions when he meets them. Little did he know how much his life would change after that fateful encounter. Kerry also had her own secrets that she overcame following that meeting.
Caleb and Kerry were two very exciting people to follow as they faced their demons. I loved that Willow seemed to ease them through their emotions easily with just her presence. Their sweet romance blossomed in this novel. The conversation between the two had me laughing and crying at times. The character development of all individuals in this novel was wonderful and the story itself was easy to follow. The setting for each scene was easy to picture and very detailed. This is the first novel I have read in this series and I look forward to reading more. It can be read as standalone.

These characters were so awkward. I can’t believe how cute it was. I mean the whole beginning was a big stage of bad impressions. I liked how they started and it made the ending so much better. I love big men with beards. Dean was a good character he was nice when he didn’t have to be. He seemed genuinely confused about his next steps in life. I believe that him and Flora met at the perfect time. Neither understood where they were going but it lead them to something special. I think that creates a beautiful bond. I very much enjoyed this book. It is a story about healing with love thrown into the mix. Kerry and Caleb have many things they need to overcome. I loved reading the growth that these characters made in this story. I also loved Kerry’s dad and Willow. This book definitely had some great characters! Cold Bastard by India Kells is the second book in the Dark Sparrow series. I have manages to read the backwards but they can be read as standalones thankfully, however there are things that make more sense to me from book three.
Archer has moved his business from England to Chicago temporarily while he is trying to sell parts of his business and needs assistance which is how Zoe comes into the picture.
The heat between Archer and Zoe is off the charts and there is one scene I had to give myself a minute. Who knew a conversation could be so hot?
This book and series is a good mix of suspense, romance and comedy. There were some laugh out loud moments from a few different people, one of which I didn’t expect.
I can’t wait for the remaining books to come out in this series. It’s definitely going on my watch list.

That’s a Wrap by Heather Silvio is the third book in the Paranormal Talent Agency. I was glad to get back to this series. This book is about nixie Mia, who is a producer with her lead actor dying in an unusual way. She decides she will help Jacob, a Las Vegas detective, solve the murder. This series is fun and a fast read. The stories are all linked but each features a different character. I really like Mia and the sparks she has with Jacob. My big curiosity is too see where the underlying story is going and which characters will be introduced next. This is a fun series with a paranormal twist.

Wow, I’m still blushing while writing this review. This is the first book I have read from this author and I was blown away. This is a collection of six short stories. These stories range from friends to lovers to a mafia princess to even a story with some paranormal. This book has it all. There are some stories that might set off some triggers to some readers. I also strongly suggest that the reader needs to be 18 years or older. All these stories grabbed my attention right away. It only took me a few hours to devour this interesting book. These stories may be short but they packed a punch that you won’t forget. The only thing is in some of the stories I wish there was more of the story. I hope one day that we will see those stories completed. I’m very interested to see what this author will write about next. Review by @heatherbass

The story Next Door Knight (Man’s Best Friend Book 2) by Nicole Flockton was a great read for me. The characters were quite lovable. Kerry is a strong person who has so much going on right now. She had her heart broken and had a lot of work to do getting herself back where she was. Kerry is currently a manager in a restaurant and is also taking care of her dad who is staying with her while he recuperates. He needs around the clock care and Kerry has an agency sending someone to be with her dad while she is at work. Then there is Caleb….he’s living next door to Kerry. They haven’t met yet and when they do, Caleb seems like the unfriendly, broody but very good looking type. Just like Kerry, Caleb has been thru a lot and is having a hard time moving on from his past. Willow is Kerry’s sweet adorable Corgi that she had trained to work with veterans. Willow has taken a liking to Caleb and keeps escaping her yard to get to Caleb’s yard. This book had me hooked from the very first page. This is definitely a book you will want to read. It will give you all the feels. I think Willow was the main character who played the biggest part in this book trying to bring two wounded souls happiness.

Drawing Bloodlines was a great 5 star read and book one in The Princeton Allegiant series. This is my first read from Deborah Garland and I loved it. I’ve gotten away from the vampire reads but Deborah has pulled me back into the genre with this book.
We start with Elizabeth at the OBGYN, and I had so many LOL moments with her thoughts. When she meets Dr. Alexander Manning during her blood draw, she has even more thoughts that seem to cause him to react in certain ways. After the draw she is a little dizzy and finds herself walking into a room and witnessing something that can’t be right, she must have been hallucinating, or was she?
Alexander was having a hard time resisting Elizabeth. Her scent was drawing him in and he had to taste her blood. Now he has a problem that he needs to figure out how to fix before it’s too late. When he goes to her home he encounters something he didn’t expect from her, she wanted him even after what she saw.
These two had such a hot and steamy connection. Things take some big twists when Alexander is ordered to mate with the new commander. But he also has some secrets of his own. Can Alexander and Elizabeth get a HEA?

Drawing Bloodlines (The Princeton Allegiant #1) by Deborah Garland was a hooking, hot read, that had me flipping the pages.
My, my, I have to say for a book, that for me had a shaky start, it quickly turned itself around and quickly made me a fan. As I an a fan of this author, I was super excited to get my hands on this different book from her. As her other series is non-paranormal, I was intrigued to see what new twists, and myths this author would bring to the vampire table. I was not disappointed in the least. Fresh and entertaining, Deborah managed to breathe new live into an over saturated market, and sparked a new love for the genera for me.
The only thing that I would change about this book, would be the opening. Now it did start with a nice well place opening chapter, it was the following one, when the POV switched to Alex, that I had problems. It’s a spoiler so I can’t get too much into it, but it touch on something a little too, dark in regards to consent and “primal urges”, and in all honesty, if that scene was taken out, it wouldn’t effect the book or plot in anyway shape or form. This’s ultimately why I can’t give this book a 5 star.
Overall outside of that, this book was as I said, fresh, unique, and entertaining. It has this nice twist, and I loved the new take on the vampire mythology. Once the secondary characters got introduced, things started to heat up, and the main non-love plot got underway, I was absorbed into this read and I didn’t want it to end. The MC’s, I got nothing but love for them, and I simply loved Alex’s tone and voice. That dual POV was a key move, and one that elevated this story into something magical.
To end, and if you haven’t guessed, this book gets my super high recommendation and my stamp of approval.

Trickster’s Hunt (Three Tricksters Book 1) by Carrie Whitethorne is a paranormal romance with some unique quirks to the story line. Maia’s character is strong and stands firm in her beliefs and choices. She’s not your stereotypical female, anything but. Maia encounters a trio of men popping up in her life in the most unusual ways. One thing leads to another and it’s a suspenseful chain of events that soon ensue. The author adds a mix of mythology or historical attributes to the story to give it more depth, as well as, create intrigue to the characters. The trio of men (Silas, Rhett, and Amos) are each alpha men in their own rights, seeing them overlapping in this story was captivating. I look forward to see where the author takes this story and the characters as the continue in the series.
Well hot darn this little collection of stories sure is one steamy and seductive set! I haven’t had the pleasure of reading anything from LM Mountford prior to this but I must say I am looking forward to finding some more of her novels asap and devouring them as well. I would call this bedside table reading. Only for myself at least, because I really struggle to maintain the my emotions while reading so this one is one to devour in my own private world. It is erotic literature and I would say my only sadness was that the stories were so short. Some had some wonderful potential to be a full length novel but may have come off a bit rushed because they were shortened novellas. There are six different stories that range a wide area as well; everything from paranormal romance to the forbidden love, and more taboo topics. There is certainly something for everyone.
Just Once: This is the crazy love adventure between Terry and Faye, childhood friends that have denied their feelings for one another for a long time. Will they ever be able to be more than just friends?
Valentine Misadventure: This one is for the Mafia fans… We meet Sophie, a mafia princess who finds herself in situations she never saw coming one Valentine’s day. I rather enjoyed this one and this was one I wish could have been just a bit longer.
Play Time: James, a college student, finds himself in a sexy situation with the new girl, Timandra. There was a lot of different elements to this one between the school itself and the interactions between James and Timandra. I wish this one could have been expanded as well.
Stepdaddy’s Bad Girl: This one falls under the taboo yes so skip it or don’t read it if it’s not your cup of tea. Personally, it isn’t something I am into but I surely loved reading it. This had the right amount of everything that managed to pull off the topic without being tacky or just plain gross, not an easy job to do sometimes. Ultimately we meet Eric with one roudy stepdaughter. He has some ideas of how to put her in line but he knows this task will not come easy, then again that is half the fun right?
Sweet Temptations: This novel brings us Richard and his family. Richard has it all, the wife and kid etc. But there are some temptations that he is struggling to resist, like the young babysitter for instance. How will he handle it all and manage to keep everything he holds dear close?
Sweet Temptations: The Boss’s Daughter: This is a continuation/new storyline with Richard again. Only, in this story his major temptation is definitely not the babysitter. Rather, the boss’s daughter. What trouble will Richard find himself in?

Run to the Sea by K.G. Fletcher is the first book in the Reigning Hearts series. This book is about two childhood friends finding each other, and their way. I found this book to be so emotional. The author does an amazing job at creating a very real connection between you, the reader, and the characters. It felt like I was living every single emotion that they were each feeling. The story carries this level of emotion well. It doesn’t take away from it but it also doesn’t let it down. It is well written and so engaging. This author always seems to know how to write a good book and so far this is my favourite. I am looking forward to the next in the series.

MaddJax boxed series by Deborah Ann is a second chance love story that will be sure to grab your attention! This is exactly the kind of book I always love and this one is easily one of the best. Right from the word go I really felt like this author too me on a journey. You were pulled in all directions with the emotions and the drama. You never quite knew which direction you might find yourself in next. The chemistry between Maddison and Jaxon was electric. You could feel it in each and every page. This is a brilliant series and one I would highly recommend.

Problematic Love is the eighth novel in the Rogue Series from Lara Ward Cosio, and I would have to say these just keep getting better and better with each book. They could be read as standalones if you really wanted to but I would highly recommend that you go back and start at the beginning with Tangled. The stories do have recurring characters and it is kind of like visiting friends each time you pick up a new one in the series. I just know that you will fall in love with the entire group.
In Problematic Love, Danny Boy’s story continues on a bit in the sense that we now find Amelia and him searching to find their footing in this new relationship that they have managed to forge. When roadblocks come up will the couple’s love be strong enough to withstand it? There is also updates in this book about past fav characters that I adored… maybe even some more angles for new novels to come? I sure can hope! I can’t wait to see whatever it is that Lara Ward Cosio gives us next!

Death and the Crone is Book 3 in The Lucky Devil Series. After reading the previous two books in the series I was more than happy to get the follow on book, but this one intrigued me even more as the storyline and the characters are not something that you would usually put together in a supernatural/fantasy read. But nonetheless, this book was just as interesting, captivating and packed full to the brim. The storyline was easy to follow, the characters are well developed and it was an enjoyable book from start to finish.
This author definitely has a creative writing style that’s captivating and enjoyable in every way, and I continue to enjoy her reads every time. I highly recommend this read and look forward to what else is to come from this series.

Next Door Knight is the 2nd book in the Man’s Best Friend series by Nicole Flockton. Each book in this series can be read as a stand-alone. I had not read the first book in the series before reading this one, in fact, I hadn’t read any of this author’s work so was unsure what to expect. I was very pleasantly surprised. Next Door Knight is a contemporary romance that will pull at your heartstrings. Caleb Bradshaw is an airman on medical leave after an accident that left him badly injured and his K9 partner Trigger dead. The last thing he needs is his neighbour’s dog continually finding her way through the fence into his garden. Kerry Williams is having a tough time in life. She’s recently come out of a long term relationship with a very controlling partner, she’s now got a new job, she and her therapy dog Willow work at a veterans centre and she looking after her father who has broken both legs. Last thing she needs is the distraction of the hot new guy next door but Willow has other ideas. This is a lovely story where a therapy dog brings 2 broken people together and makes them re-examine their lives. It has to be said that cute corgi, Willow, with her sassy wiggle is a scene stealer and is adored by everyone. This book is well written and has characters that are interesting and drag you into their story. The 2 main characters are both badly broken and their journey together is compelling. I really enjoyed this book and would definitely recommend it to others.
