This is my first book by this author and I enjoyed the creativeness, the sassy, fun life of a twelve year old. This story is written in Leda’s perception and it was great getting to see what happening in her head. I loved how the author made me feel as if I was in Leda’s head with her creative details. This story is about Leda’s life growing up in Italy. She is a great character that bring the story to life and I highly recommend reading her story.

The Memory of Us by Lisa Sorbe is a contemporary adult romance novel. I had never read any of this author’s work but after reading the blurb I thought that this book would be right up my street, and it was! The story is told from the point of view of Elena Everhart, or Laney as she’s more commonly known. Laney is very much at a crossroads in her life. She no longer loves her career as a lawyer, her last living relative, her mother has just died and she has to return to her home town to sort out her mother’s affairs. Laney has never returned to her hometown since she left 12 years ago and she wants to be in and out of there as quick as possible. So who does she bump into immediately as soon as she arrives home? Her childhood sweetheart Weston, whose heart she broke by leaving to go to college 12 year ago. I loved the way this story really got you into Laney’s head. The author did an amazing job of showing the heartache and struggle that Laney was going through. The Laney inside her head is so different from the top class lawyer persona that she shows on the outside. I have to admit that there were occasions that I’d have loved to know what was going through Weston’s head. I also loved that we are taken back in time on many occasions to visit with the teenage versions of Laney and Weston. I really enjoyed The Memory of Us. Lisa Sorbe definitely has a new fan.

I loved this book! I love how this author has the ability to pull me in right from the beginning. The twists and turns left me sitting on the edge of my seat. I didn’t know what was going to happen next which made the suspense even more intense for me. This story took me on a journey of a string of murders and William the investigator. I loved his character and his ability to love despite what his past has done to him. This is a creepy, dark must read story you don’t want to miss!

This was my second book by this author and I sincerely enjoyed it. For some reason it turned out to be totally different than I thought it would and this pleased me. It was actually a fun read and I enjoyed the bantering back and forth between Vir and Soumya, and I especially liked the storyline..It was different and refreshing.
This author won me over in my first read and this one just strengthened that…I love the style of writing and how easy her stories are to read. I can not wait to read more and will be checking out whatever else she has available and whatever else becomes available.
I highly recommend this story!

Hope’s Defeat (The Fated Series) by Angela McPherson 4 Stars
Another action packed book in the Fated Series. Trinity has to take extreme measures to set Blain free. Now she has to face Cronus and dealing with gods is always tricky business. They never fight fair and it may cost Trinity her life. She’s decided that no cost is too high to save the other half of her soul.
This is a truly fascinating series and being the third book, I’m sad to see it end. It had action, drama, magic and intrigue. It had gods and goddesses based on Greek mythology, which I love. The characters were well developed and evolved with every book as did the plot. I not only enjoyed the main characters but the secondary ones as well. Maybe we’ll be able to see some stories involving some of the other watchers or demi gods? All in all, this was a fantastic series, one I highly recommend reading.

Nite Fire: Flash Point is the first book in the Nite Fire series. It can be read as a standalone as the main story focus is wrapped up, however there are other pieces of the story that are left open for the next book in the series.
This story starts off at a fast pace and never slows down! I was hooked from the first chapter. The author does a fantastic job of weaving a believable story and introduces interesting and complex characters in a timely manner. Nite Fire has tons of action and adventure mixed with a splash of romance. A gripping and spectacular reading adventure!

The story Shadow’s Keep: A Novel by Meghan O’Flynn is a thrilling book that I loved reading. It constantly had me on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next. Chilling scenes which made tingles go up and down my spines had me wondering if everything is what it seemed to be. I loved reading about the character of Deputy Sheriff William Shannahan. He is a man that can’t fight the feeling that there might be more to the killing that is being called an animal attack. He has a strong will and determination. He also is falling for Cassie Parker. William’s investigation leads him down many roads and it is a puzzle that has many pieces to it. Will he be able to find the glue that puts them all together? Read this story to find out. This book has intense scenes and dialogue. William comes from a small town which includes gossip and politics. William also finds himself trying to deal with those who show indifference. Cassie is an intriguing and fascinating character. She is a woman who has fears and scars. This story had me hooked from the beginning and didn’t let go until I had finished the last page. I highly recommend reading it.

The story An Italian Adventure (The Italian Saga Book 1) by Gaia B. Amman is a book the I enjoyed reading. It has an engaging dialogue between the characters and I soon found myself pulled into the story. Leda is the main character in the book. Her journey includes the themes of friendships, family, and life. She is someone who is discovering things about herself and also about those she lives and spends time with. There are moments that had me smiling and others that had me empathizing with Leda and the situations that she was going through. There are adventurous times, mischief, and touching moments. I enjoyed reading about Leda’s feelings on events that happen and how she handles them. Another character is Nico. He at times has a hostile attitude however this doesn’t scare Leda away. This is a coming of age story that will have you turning pages to find out what happens next. The book has a smooth flow to it and I am glad that I choose to read it. It is a wonderful story that I would recommend reading.

Rising Star is a novel by Susannah Nix. A first time read for me from this author, and it was brilliant. The storyline was engaging and attention grabbing. The characters were full of life and endearing. The story was one that appealed to me and the further I got into it, the more I liked it. The author has a real flair for captivating an audience, and I couldn’t get enough.
Griffin and Alice just were perfect together. They were maddeningly cute together. The sweet and light nature of this romance is a great way to pass a rainy day or a well earned day off. It has the magnetism that would attract the fussiest of readers. Rising Star has something for everyone. An immensely satisfying read. 5 stars.

Nice guys winning PLUS snort inducing laughter EQUALS winning combination. Stewart had me engaged immediately and I instantly was rooting for our “good guy” to get the girl. I absolutely loved the plot and the character development. I love a good book that makes me laugh. Relatable and fun, this book is a must read and one you will have a hard time putting down. Loved it.

The Confectioners Truth by: Claire Luana is the third and final book in The Confectioners Chronicles. Much like the other books by this author in this series, once I stared the book I didn’t want to put it down. The sweet treats and characters are unlike any other story I have read. This book will keep you on your toes, and although it’s the last book, it will leave you wanting more. I can’t wait to see what this author does next, I will definitely continue to read her books. I give this book 5 stars easily, because the only complaint I have is I wasn’t ready for the book or series to end. Great Read!!

Wish Upon A Bollywood Star by Pamela Q. Fernandes is a Bollywood romance with secrets, drama, some humour, and lots of cultural details. Vir Seth finds himself in quite the predicament when Soumya Ninan decides to teach him a lesson about his attitude towards women and marriage. Vir’s world will be upended, battlelines will be drawn, while feelings become involved. What happens you ask? Well, you really need to read the book to discover all the details for yourself- no spoilers from me. This is a very short, quick and easy read. I liked Soumya, but I really found it hard to connect to Vir, or get invested in their story. I think this is because we really don’t get too ‘know’ him all that well. We get Soumya’s perspective throughout the story, but don’t get to understand things from his point of view, which would have perhaps made him more relatable. I wonder what Ms. Fernandes has in store for us next?

The Shape of Trust is the fifth book in the Stand By Me series by Brinda Berry. This series just seems to get better and better with each new release. I have really loved this series, so when this book was released I knew I just had to read it- but I wasn’t sure I would love it as much as the other four books. Well, I should never have doubted Ms. Berry, because the characters and storyline won me over immediately, and this book has now become my favourite of the series. As with the other books, Ms. Berry has produced a wonderful story with a superb plot and a captivating storyline. Added to that were her endearing, fully developed, and somewhat quirky characters- the combination of these pulled me into the story and kept me wrapped up in all the developments. I was so completely emotionally invested in every detail. I couldn’t put it down, as I really had to know how things would play out- so I ended up reading it all in one sitting. Web and Lily Rose are such fantastic characters, but it’s little Julianne who really stole the show! Ms. Berry manages to instil bucketloads of charm and emotion into her stories and characters- which gives her books a real heart & soul. I really recommend this book- you’ll be bound to love it just as much as I have! I can’t wait to get my hands on her next book!

THE SHAPE OF TRUST is the 5th book in the “Stand By Me Series” yet it is 100% a stand-alone. It is always fun to see the cameo appearances made by characters from previous stories, so I always recommend reading an entire series for that reason.
Similar to the other stories in the series, THE SHAPE OF TRUST focuses on our M/m as they navigate new situations in life. The characters are well developed and I was immediately invested in each of them. The story has a very clear path from beginning to end and the story-line holds true through the entire telling. There are children as secondary characters that I would like to read about in the future. This would be a fun group to watch grow and morph as the years progress.
“Dog Eared Books” is a fictional bookstore in the story and I hope that everyone has an independent bookstore they frequent in their own town. They are an asset to local communities and bring so much joy to families.
Brinda Berry is definitely an author who I enjoy reading and I always look forward to what she is writing. I will continue to follow her for her stories in the future.

THE CONFECTIONER’S TRUTH is the third and final book in the “Confectioner Chronicles” series. As this book picks up where the last left off, it is very important to read this series in order.
The entire series was a well written fantasy that had many twists and turns and battles (internal and external). It has a lot of characters to keep track of, but each is pretty well defined in their role. This is one of those series that has it all… Mystery/suspense, fantasy, magic, adventure and action. The world building in the series continues until the very end. New characters are introduced in this story that bring a totally new feel and we get to see the “conclusion” to ongoing relationships.
I definitely have liked and disliked the same characters more than once and have rolled my eyes several times, but I think that is what makes a story interesting. It pulled emotion instead of apathy.
This is a series I would recommend to anyone who enjoys a good fantasy series. It was cool to watch the characters grow along with the story lines.

Degrees of Power, by Via Mari, is the fourth & final book in the Prestian Series. This emotional story has carried through four separate books and coming to that final chapters has been a journey of epic proportions. Katarina and Chase have gone through so much, the ride has been full of twists, turns, bumps and more. Their relationship has pushed limits, yet exceeded expectations in other ways. However, not everything that burns brightly can hold on forever. Following them throughout this series and seeing how their story ends was an amazing journey that could not be missed. Via Mari is a talented author and has showcased this well within the Prestian series.

Brinda Berry’s The Shape of Trust is the fifth book in the Stand By Me series. This new adult/college romance was touching, unique, and rife with pieces of drama filled obstacles that need to be overcome. Webb’s character has demons in his past that he has worked to rise above, but yet still allows that to have some type of impact on the decisions he makes now. He comes across as a charismatic and dependable individual, but yet afraid at the same time. Enter Lily. She’s just an amazing character. Of course, she has her own unique challenges in her life, but she works to make sure they don’t define her and attempts to arise above. These two are certainly the opposite of one another, but yet the ultimate mate to one another. Reading these characters’ stories and wondering if they’ll work to gain what they desire and need within their lives was entertaining, emotional and truly well written.

This story was cute and a little naughty. Jake is a jerk but a truthful jerk. He isn’t out here leading women on. He is just real and maybe too honest. His dislike for germ infested little people is accurate and understandable. Lol! I thought Sam was a little unbelievable as a character. No one does what she did and confidently might I add. Over all the book had me laughing and it turned out to be really sweet. Jake learned a lot and it brought him closer to his family. The story was perfectly balanced with laughter, love, naughty moments and family. You felt the lightness with which the author wanted the story portrayed.

The Memory of Us, by Lisa Sorbe, is a new adult/college romance. This is not just a story that touches on the past, but so much more. The author added layers upon layers of depth within this novel. Elena’s character is multi-faceted, coming across as fiercely independent and strong, yet fractures are evident. She has accomplished much in her life in a small space of time, but the question ultimately becomes is it what she wants or does she need to find something new. Then there is Weston – holy smokes, that is one attractive male – he just melts the words off the pages. When these two characters are in the same room, you can feel the love – yet, is that friends or is it more and is it something that can survive? Lisa Sorbe has created a beautiful story that is emotionally touching.

Note to self: Pay attention to book length. I was not prepared for this book to end so quickly! Like other Kimberly Packard books I have read, I didn’t want to put down The Crazy Yates, and read it in one setting. I highly recommend it and all her books. She writes in a way that you feel like you know the character. She is very descriptive and the characters are genuine and realistic. This is a short story about the Yates family, specifically Callie, the oldest daughter. She is left to look after her family when her father develops such bad anxiety and agoraphobia he cannot leave the house, and her mother cannot handle it and bails. Leaving Callie to raise and take care of her father, and younger brother and sisters. It seems like bad luck piled on bad. Will Callie get a Christmas miracle this year?

The Crazy Yates by Kimberly Packard is a Christmas novella that broke my heart a little bit while reading. I felt so bad got Callie at first, when it rains it pours especially with the bad and that is the case for Callie and her family.
Helping raise her younger siblings and being the sole financial support has caused her to grow up way too soon. As the oldest she felt like it was duty, which I understand since I had to do the same thing.
One fateful trip to Amarillo changed so much for Callie and her family for the better.
This is definitely a feel good Christmas story. But I would love to see more of the Yates family.

This is my favorite book in this series yet. I read a lot about single moms but its great to read about strong single dads. Webb finally has his life together until his five year old daughter he never knew about turns his life upside down. Then he meets Lily. Not only instant attraction but she could be the one to help turn his life right side up again. I loved these two, their chemistry is off the charts. Will they be able to resist each other? I highly recommend reading their story!

The story The Shape of Trust (a Stand By Me novel Book 5) by Brinda Berry is a new adult/romance book. I absolutely loved reading this story. It had me hooked from the very beginning. It is a wonderful romance book that I couldn’t get enough of. I loved reading about the characters of Webb Walters and Lily Rose. Webb is a man that may have had a wild side in the past however is now walking a different path. He has just learned that he has a daughter he knew nothing about. She needs him. Lily is a woman who is wonderful communicating with those she meets. She is caring and compassionate. She is someone who helps others. Just the sort of person who offers to help Webb out in caring for his daughter. These two have an attraction to each other. There is a desire/energy and chemistry between them. Will they try to keep their relationship professional/businesslike or will they give into their emotions/feelings for each other? Will they find their happiness with each other? Read this book to find out. Both Lily and Webb are characters that I grew to care about with each chapter that I read. You want them to be happy. The story has moments that warmed my heart and made me smile. There is flirting/bantering and some steamy scenes that make the temperature in the room rise. This is a story that flows smoothly and had me glued to the pages until I was finished. I would definitely recommend reading it.

This book was a very short read but full of emotion. I enjoyed reading this story, I wish it would have been longer. Callie is a young but strong woman trying to take care of her family, but feeling like she’s failing. Although there are some struggles having teenagers and an agoraphobic father in the house, there is also a very strong family bond. Will the Yates be able to overcome their struggles? Will Callie make the right decision and tell her family? To find these things out you must read this emotional story. I recommend this book.

Be prepared… once you embark on the first page, you will not be able to put it down!! Well done , Aubrey! I can’t wait to see what you have in store for us in the future !!
Santa’s Little Helper is a fun, short holiday read by Shaan Ranae. This is the first book I have read by this author, however it definitely won’t be the last. I truly enjoyed the witty dialogue and the plot was intriguing it held my attention from beginning to end. There were some very steamy love scenes and a happy ending. This is one of the better Christmas stories that I’ve read this year. I would highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a short fun read.

The Progeny Assassin: A Tarnished Lands Story (Forgotten Woods Book 2) P.A Wikoff 4 out of 5 stars
The Progeny Assassin is the second book of PA Wikoff’s Forgotten Woods series. While I don’t necessarily think you need to read the first book in the series to follow along with this book’s storyline, I enjoyed having read the first book prior. The Progeny Assassin is one of those books that transports you to another time and place until the story is over. The description in PA Wikoff’s writing is impressive, it’s dark and captivating all at once. The characters in this book are as unique and exciting as is the twisting storyline! I’ve always considered myself to be someone that wasn’t a fan of fantasy type reads but as of late I’ve really been exploring the genre more. This book and really the Forgotten Woods series has truly captured my attention. I look forward to reading more from PA Wikoff.

Her parents’ deaths, so close together triggered some dark places for Haylee, but she’s ambitious and is determined to follow her dreams so she is planning on law school in the fall. Josh Singer, the sexy eligible owner of Gamble Advertising is private, intense, and hard to read. With his sexy voice, his smoldering eyes and when he learns of Haylee’s goal to save money for law school, he makes her an offer she can’t refuse: To move to New York City and work for him directly as his assistant. I wanted to do some bodily harm to a character or two in this story. The storyline kept me wanting to know more about Haylee and Josh and the strong secondary characters that have me looking forward to future stories in this series. Ask me something Sasha Brooks has worked with Brian Carpenter in the advertising industry for several years and their not just coworker their best friends. She has been focused on one thing her entire life: her career. She is newly promoted as the vice president in a New York advertising company, she has beauty, brains, and one hell of a fierce reputation she is so put together on the outside that you wouldn’t know she is fighting her own demons. Brian Carpenter has an easygoing personality and Southern charm and is the yang to Sasha’s yin and the calm to her storm. He is finding it hard manage his newest VP isn’t without its challenges, but when it comes to Sasha, he’d expect nothing less. Bet Me Something Kenzie Lane, 22, and just recently graduated from college and is looking forward to her dream internship this summer. But her mother has other plans for her. She has had a long time crush on Colby Singer, 31,the next door neighbor boy with his panty dropping grin and baby face, the younger brother of her older brother’s friend and he has a reputation as a player.
Colby is a cute successful business man, and has put Kenzie in the friend zone he is a lot of fun, and pretty laid back till Kenzie gets under his skin. With this in mind he is still determined to distract her temporarily from the stress of her mother’s ultimatum, deciding to show her some fun, he quickly finds that keeping her in the friend zone is not as easy as he’d hoped. Kenzie realizes this is her last chance to gauge her long-time crush’s true feelings; she puts it all out there in the form of a bet. It’s the perfect idea for her perfect betting man. Ms. Bondurant is an exceptional writer and this is an upbeat series about figuring out life and love while finding yourself or the person you want to be. Untrainable by Jamie Schlosser a five-star read that will make you purr. What a fun read, ‘Theo-Dog’ Legend was so much fun to read, he was such a surprise to read as his first impression wasn’t a good one, but that’s what made the story so good and honest. He needs the TV show to show everyone how he can behave with some good treats like a good boy should. Hadley Holiday is Americas sweetheart and with the help of her side kick Matilda she will be able to show the world you can teach an old dog new tricks and giving us a great story along the way. So long as the treats keep coming so will the good behaviour wont it? Buy the novel and find out, you won’t be disappointed Jamie Schlosser is a great author who brings us story’s that make you smile as well as blush.
