This was an entertaining book. Cece, our main character, has a unique gift, which she uses in many ways. I absolutely loved the storyline and how the book was set up. This was a very unique story. The characters fit into it so great. The drama camp with everything going on. A little voodoo, with some black magic there, etc. This is a book that keeps you engaged right from the the start. I loved every minute of it.

This is quite the intriguing romance novel. A historical romance set during the gold rush, it’s action packed and full of very interesting characters. Elena is seeking her brother’s killer. The question is, can she kill the man she loves? Sean is hunting for his missing sister. Can he trust Elena to help him? Not normally a historical reader of any kind, I found this author’s writing to be quite enjoyable. Her writing is engaging and makes you feel like you are part of the story. This is truly an important piece when you are reading. For me, it’s the make or break for a book. This is a must read.

This book is super entertaining. I wasn’t sure at first how I was going to feel at first based on the synopsis, but I was quickly hooked. Necromancy here is not viewed as icky, it is viewed as a power for good, and Cece uses her power to help her dad. The amount of awkwardness she has around her new “friend” Zach was cracking me up, and mad her character that much more lovable to me. The whole book I was playing detective myself trying to figure out who the castor was that was messing with Cece and I was surprised and not surprised at who it turns out to be, but the story behind his harassment and connections to Cece, and why he wanted her magic was icky. Zach and Cece’s relationship is sweet, and I really loved watching their interactions. Portia, her best friend is a riot and a truly good friend. The ending, there was no cliffhanger, but I am left wanting to know what will happen next with Cece’s mom. And will her dad ask out the FBI sketch artist!

Phew what can I say about this book! It had me in a chokehold the entire time.

Nadija did an amazing job on this book. She takes us through Lynn’s horrific life. The book starts with Lynn winning a rather large sum of money through the lottery – a life changing event for someone who was barely financially surviving. She is slowly dying of cancer and trying to survive the daily abuse she endures. Follow her while she makes some life changing decisions, trying to find herself and make herself a new life after her winnings. While learning more about her husband and herself, Lynn faces the common trauma effects that one has after going through years of abuse and getting thenselves out. Definitely worth the read!

Unclutter is the first book in the Inner Voice series and is a YA that will have you turning the pages till the end. This is a raw emotional journey that had me tearing up a few times. Its about heartbreak, betrayal, and learning how to love yourself. This is a fairly new author to me but holy cow did she write one heck of a story. There may be some triggers but keep reading its worth the read. I highly recommend anyone especially women to read this book. I’m looking forward to seeing what this author brings us next.

This was a very interesting read with a unique story. It is a captivating magical story filled with danger, mystery, magic and all the normal angst teenagers go through. Cece has a magical gift. She is able to speak to the death. This gift isn’t always a blessing though but it comes in handy when she helps her dad who’s a police officer solve his cases. When Cece goes to drama camp all she wants is to be a normal teenager learning the craft of something she loves however that’s not meant to be when someone with dark magic trys to harm her for her magical abilities she knows she has to stop this person before its too late. Add to this a budding romance between Cece and another person with magic Zach and this story takes plenty of exciting twists and turns. The connection between Zach and Cece was lovely to watch develop. The way that their magical abilities complement each other makes them even more of a perfect fit. The author also does a great job of handling subjects such as death, voodoo and dark magic in a respectful way but also in an informative way showing the reader that it isn’t to be taken lightly and its not without risk. Overall I enjoyed this book. The mixture of magic and the romance/drama camp element was a different take. Cece’s ability was also a unique aspect as I haven’t read many books including that ability.

4.5 stars Necromancy the Musical is a delightful spooky tale. It is a fun and fast paced YA paranormal. With black magic and voodoo this page turner has slightly darker themes but YA’s and adults will be drawn into this story. Debbie has done a good job with the premise making it a quick and easy read with a cast of interesting characters. They are witty, quirky and well-written and well developed and feel real. I enjoyed the relationship between CeCe and Zach was cute to see it blossoming. Sixteen-year-old CeCe LeBlanc is a geek girl who loves drama. She is also a gifted necromancer with “learner” plates. Add in a cute and sweet romance and the fun begins. Picture Wednesday Adams at drama camp in mystical New Orleans and the dark underground where black magic, necromancy, and voodoo is a staple as are the gifted. I thought I had read it all but sure why not a book about a musical called Necromancy, and I was a bit iffy about reading it but I was wrong. The story did start out a little slow but soon picked up. There is a little twist at the end! This is a really good read and would make the perfect present for Christmas presents for those pesky teenage relatives you don’t know what to get.

Hot Flashes and Hockey Slashes is a steamy Romantic Comedy and the first book in the Hot Flash Hookups series by two wonderful authors Marika Ray & Sylvie Stewart. I love that older women and life changes are being written about and these two do it so well. I found myself laughing out loud at the banter between all the characters. It had me eagerly turning the pages as we journey along to one woman’s plight and a new chapter in her life. What could be more fun than menopause, a wedding, a tropical island, a fake sexy date, and some flirty and sexy times. It certainly wasn’t on her radar. The heat is definitely turned up in this feel-good tale. The story is well paced, and the characters are well developed, honest and very realistic that I could totally relate to. It is told in several POV’s, which I love. It is a little quirky and the characters will find their way into your heart. Hot Flashes and Hockey Slashes is funny and full of witty banter and will definitely leave you with a light heart and a smile on your face. If you are looking for a great story full of drama, romance, love and laughter then look no further.

Sweet Vengeance is the third book in the historical Mission Belles series. I read this book before I knew there were two books before it, but I didn’t feel like I was missing out. However, I do encourage you to start with the first book Shadow of the Fox. I will be going back to see what I missed.
This is my first time reading this authors work. I am not usually a fan of historical romance, but Pamela’s writing style is compelling, and the story intriguing and I was not disappointed.
Set in the gold rush period in San Francisco this page turning plot driven story is action-packed with plenty of plot twists that it will leave readers wanting more.
This is Elena and Sean’s story.
Elena is used to danger. She is on a mission to find the man who destroyed her family. Revenge is so sweet she can taste it. He’s the archenemy but she soon finds them both in a far more dangerous position than her first quest.
Sean doesn’t trust easily his past has trained him not to and he certainly doesn’t trust her. However, when a known enemy is on the hunt, he finds them both smack dab in the middle of a dangerous game of cat and mouse.

If you love a historical enemies to lovers trope with revenge and danger, tension and suspense that is palpable then this is a book for you.
Beware: This book contains mature content that some readers may find disturbing. I have been waiting for this book. We got introduced to the characters way back in the first book Savage Start. This dark and scandalous tale is full of angst, drama, dark lies, secrets, jealousy, bullying and so much more. It is as intriguing as it is intense, and the fury and hatred is palpable. She is living a nightmare over and over again. Now she has met him she should stay away but she is ensnared. He is one of the dark and dangerous Elite, the Academy’s football stars, privileged boys who rule on and off the ground. Those who play to win and anyone who stands in their way is taken down. They play dangerous games where lies and lives are at stake. You do not want to be on their radar. I have said it before with the other books but will say it again, there are characters you will love to hate and others you will hate to love and others you just want to lead them into the flames. It is intense and intriguing and hard to put down to actually do some work. Thank God it is a short read. They are playing a dangerous game where lies and lives are at stake. There are characters you will like but there are those who you just want to rip to pieces. I look forward to more.

4.5 stars Beware: This book contains sexual content, profanity, violence, mentions of suicide, and eating disorder. Recommended for 18+. I have been waiting patiently to read this book. The Inquisitor is just as fantastic as the other books and dare I say my favourite. Although I am pretty sure I thought that about the others in the WaterFyre Rising series. In this the fourth book we get Kiera’s and Forrest’s story. They are fully realised with a complexity to them. It is told in dual POVs which I love as I love getting the inside thoughts of the characters instead of it being one sided. This second chance romance is over 400 pages but that soon flies by as you become lost in Nadia’s narrative because it has a little of everything. The suspense, intrigue and mystery are intricately and cleverly woven together by Nadia to give the reader an intense read. The engaging plot had me engrossed and eagerly turning the pages waiting to see how it all unfolds. The story is full of human trafficking, danger and deadly secrets, lies and drama, tragedy, angst and let’s not forget the steamy romance.
Forrest is living a life that has kept him in the dark side of life. He knows he shouldn’t, but she is his light, but she is off limits. I look forward to seeing what Nadia gives us next.

This book written by Lois Wickstrom is based on a Hindu teaching Tale and although I am not familiar with the tale the original message shines through. Nicolas Milano does an excellent job illustrating this book about monsters. The monster is in no way visually scary. Once the little one you are reading the book to/with realises that there is not a scary monster in this story then the monster is portrayed to be more a friendly helper. Always great to find another children’s author who has a vivid imagination to convey a meaningful tale.

Both Wynter and Caleb receive a mysterious letter from an attorney requesting their presence in his office. Neither one can figure out what they both have to do with this particular situation until their meeting. Both of their lives could possibly change forever, if the terms and conditions are followed through.
This was an enjoyable story to read. I did not realize that this was a part of a series until I finished the book. It’s easy to follow along and can be read as a standalone. I am interested in going back and picking up the previous books in the series.

Great book, I liked the whimsical holiday read. I thought this was very fun. Lizzie has an uphill battle with life, everything that should be easy is hard and she finds a different way of life with Jaz. Wonderful holiday read.

Ms. Williams has once again written a quirky, funny and cute book that I throughly enjoyed.
Australia is on my bucket list of places to go and I think my desire to there gree bigger after this. How can you go wrong with sun, beach and a hot Aussie? Definitely better than the cold any day of the week.
Loved how Lizzie and Jasper meet, not one I had read before. Watching it start out as new friends and evolve from there was something I enjoyed.
The characters were what I have come to expect from Ms. Williams and will keep me coming back for more.

This is book one in the Lottery series. Mujagic did a wonderful job in crafting the scenery in the novel. Who wouldn’t want to win millions on the lottery? It could be the ticket to freedom. I could see the setting in my mind’s eye as I read the story. The characters are well crafted and draw you into the plot. The stakes increase and leave you questioning the safety of all involved. I’ve read other books by this author and this one doesn’t disappoint. There are plenty of twists and turns among the way and the end was not what I thought! Highly recommend thriller!

Faking the Fall is the 4th book in the Bukeye Falls series. It can be enjoyed as a standalone book, but you should read the others- The characters overlap, and they are cute books! I love the small town feel of them, and the characters are all wonderful. I enjoyed this book and seeing Alice evolve. Prior books and the beginning of this one, we get the impression she is a carefree kid. She really buckles down in this book and finds her place. She is part of a powerful family in the spotlight of Buckeye Falls, and she is the black sheep of the family. However, she is really cool and down to earth, although insecure. That was the one thing I didn’t like; how insecure the author made her. She jumped to worse case scenarios every time there was a hiccup with her and James, and plummeting to the deep end. I hope the author writes another similar series, because I loved this one. It has a Gilmore Girls feel to it. Highly recommend for a cute, clean romance series.

A very enjoyable historical adventure book, set in 1897, the story is about a reporter from Chicago Tribune, Mark Sutherland, who lives on the edge. He loves travelling and reporting on the odd and eccentric. Marks wants to go to Yukon and witness the gold rush, thinking it would be on similar lines as the 1849 California gold rush. As he embarks on this adventure, he meets more friends along the way, each one with their own reason to travel to Yukon. There is romance, adventure, a lot of historic information and the adrenaline pumping to see what happens when we witness the gold rush. Overall a very enjoyable read.

Christmas Escape by Belinda Williams is such a fun holiday romance about a holiday fling that might lead to finding love unexpectedly. Lizzie is down on her luck, losing her job and her apartment just before Christmas. So, what does she do. Goes on holiday, of course. Sun and fun- Australian style. Things don’t go exactly according to plan- but that’s half the fun. Add in Jaz a single father of two, our Grinchy FMC – Lizzie, humour, banter, antics, some festive spirit, and finding love unexpectedly – and this Christmas romance has just the right amount of tension, drama, and spice to keep me engaged the whole way through. It was good to catch up on a Logan mystery again. Logan and Ben are now engaged. Logan has made an music video with the help of her students, which has gone viral. While visiting Oregon, Logan is distracted with the video when she stumbles upon a dead body.
When her friends turn out to be the prime suspects, Logan starts investigating the murder to find out who the true murderer is. But with endless motives , accusations and lies involved, it gets really tricky, and it is very difficult to guess who the murderer is.
This book was a real page turner, I thoroughly enjoyed reading it.

Unclutter: A Survivor’s Story is the first book in the Inner Voice series by Winnie D. Pagora is raw and emotional story about overcoming trauma while also learning to ‘live’ again. This story is heavy, dark, gritty, and thought-provoking in parts. It contains sensitive subject matter that could be triggering for some readers- so read the TWs before diving in (topics such as sexual abuse/child abuse, rape, self-harm/cutting, mental health issues, suicidal thoughts, PTSD, betrayal, shaming, gaslighting, domestic abuse, bullying- and more). This story is shocking, heart-wrenching, and touching, all wrapped up in a dramatic package. I really felt for Tina and what she went through. But I got to watch her, develop, grow, and overcome over the course of the story, which gave the story some extra depth. The heavy subject matter was well-balanced with some touching and tender moments, some light-hearted scenes, true friendship, resilience, strength of character, and a lot of heart. The story is quite ‘wordy’ in parts, and contains a lot of character, with quite a lot going on- which made for a lot to process. At times the ‘wordiness and ‘heavy’ aspects slowed the flow of the story down considerably- but this didn’t detract much from my overall opinion of the book. This appears to be Ms. Pagora’s debut novel and is also the first book in a series- so I am intrigued to see what else Ms. Pagora can/will do. Happy Reading…

This was a cute story. It was full of very useful information for children who have pets. This book is really helpful for children with pets that they want to make a part of their family. The book was full of different behaviors a dog might have and how a child should respond to the behavior. I think many families that are considering getting a dog for their kids will enjoy this book and it will definitely help their kids learn how to interact and understand the new dog.

I’m a sucker for holiday romances! I haven’t had an author steer me wrong yet! The Christmas Escape is no exception. I enjoyed it! I enjoyed what the author did here. Though parts were frustrating, that was more the character and not the story. I’ve read this author before and plan to continue to read more in the near future. Lizzie’s life has been upended. It’s the holidays and she unexpectedly no longer has a job or a roommate for that matter. Not wanting to face her family and talk about her failures, she helps out a friend and escapes to Australia over the holidays. A trip that seemed to be too good to be true. A man that she wants some fun with but has the potential to hurt her. What could go wrong? Jaz/Jasper was just spending another day on the beach with his kids. That was until his son hit this beautiful woman in the head with a ball. A woman he invites into his circle, so she doesn’t spend Christmas alone. A woman he knows is leaving but is willing to ride the wave with and take a risk. The question is, is she ready? Lizzie is a frustratingly stubborn character at times. But that’s all part of the growth. A growth that progressed wonderfully over time. Will Lizzie and Jaz stand in each other’s way? You will spend this book rooting for them! It doesn’t matter that their homes are worlds apart. You want them to win, to make it despite all else. If you like me and enjoy the holiday season and the ambiance of the movies, books, and spirit. This book is definitely a must read, that will bring a smile to your face.

I was intrigued to read a motorcycle club book about a prospect.
I was under the impression this was could be read as a standalone…but there are multiple chapters told from the point of view from characters from what I am guessing are previous books. This was a bit of a negative takeaway for me.
There also was one piece of of what I guess I would consider black magic…and I am not completely sure because I don’t know that character’s story.
Dingo and Celestine have their own unique story that is original. I just feel like it is being told from too many point of views.
Or maybe I should have read all of the previous books prior to going into their story.
I’m not saying I won’t read this author again…I would just read series in order.

Spectral revelations: A Karina Cardinal Mystery (The Karina Cardinal Mysteries Book 6) By Ellen Butler. I love this series and was so excited to see there was another book in the series. It can be read as a standalone but I highly recommend reading them in order to get a better feel of the characters. They are really good paranormal mysteries. Karina and her friends are back with another mystery, Karina’s Aunt Vera has disappeared and her mom insists they investigate. Karina is a attorney who has now become a lobbyist. She always seems to run into trouble everywhere she goes so when her Aunt Vera goes missing she is of course going to investigate. Karina and her boyfriend Rick and the gang all help her figure out if Aunt Vera is in trouble or if she has run away. They find all kinds of corruption, greed and schemes galore! Will they be able to find Aunt Vera before its too late? I love this series so much and hope there is another book.

This is excellent escapism. The hero is a veteran with PTSD issues. The heroine has her own baggage. They connected through the rescue of an injured dog. Life in a small town where everyone knows everyone else’s business causes conflict in their budding relationship. Can they overcome their own issues in order to rescue each other’s hearts?
