I really enjoyed this  book. It is the 4th book in the Westbeach Series. I haven’t read any of the books previously but I had no trouble getting sucked into this book and the lives of the characters. I love that this book is a mixture of romance and danger which keeps the story alive and gripping.

Jessica has taken some time away from the family resort and has decided to open her own B&B. She has a lot of work to do but it is the ideal place for her. Jessica is a very strong independent lady who keeps her heart save behind a barrier.

Will is uncle two 2 children. While his sister is in rehab he has looked after the children until her return which has taken longer than anticipated. There is an attraction between Will and Jessica but with everything that’s happening for them both is it really the right time to look into a relationship?

After Will gets ransom letter demanding money Will knows he needs to take the threat seriously. When his sisters house gets burned down he know he has to keep the children safe so he moves them into Jessica’s B&B.
What trouble has he brought to Jessica’s door? Why is someone trying to get money out of Will? Can he protect Jessica from the danger that could now be aimed at her? And can either Jessica or Will survive the pain of opening their hearts up to each other.

I have not read previous books in the series, but I had no problems getting into this one or feeling like I interrupted a series. You get a little romance and a little suspense with this novel. The author did a great job getting your attention right off the bat. I really like how fleshed out the characters are. I also appreciated that there is a sister in rehab. Bringing in that very painful element makes the realness move up a notch for me. Life isn’t always pretty, and it can be hard to let someone in when you have something like that going on. Great read!

Dark Bastard (Dark Sparrow Novel Book 5) by India Kells

4 out of 5

Once again India Kells takes you on a heart-pounding ride with these bastard brothers. The action and steam could light-up a small town. I was hooked from the first page and held on with both hands until the last. I can’t wait until the final chapter in this series!

Sam Sarkhan had his tribe until he was ripped away from everything he knew and loved by Jamieson Finch, the man that fathered him. Sam escaped him, once. Sam had found another family in the men that all carried the same paternal lineage, but none of the scars. Sam’s couldn’t battle the demons anymore. On New Year’s Eve, Sam decided he had fought long enough. Sam calls his oldest brother to say goodbye, but gets a woman’s voice instead.

Ellie McLaren answered Sam’s call. She had been on the verge of making the same decision that led Sam to place the call. After hearing Sam’s voice, Ellie decided that she still had things for which she wanted to live. Sam hoped to find a way to make things better for Ellie but instead dragged her into his world and his fight with Finch. Now keeping Ellie safe is all that matters to Sam, even when that means walking back into his nightmare. Can Sam escape Finch a second time? Will Ellie’s need to save Sam be enough to actually do it? Will Finch finally find the justice he deserves?

The story will have you hanging on the end of your chair to find the answers to those questions and so much more. Another amazing chapter in this series!

This was a great read! A romance story with a hint of mystery. It is the final installment in this series, but can be read as a stand alone. Book 4 is about Jessica she owns a bed and breakfast and Will whi has not had it easy he took guardianship of his sisters kids while she went to rehab but it has turned out for a lot longer than he originally thought. Circumstances surrounding Will and the kids living arrangements meant that the only place left to stay was the bed and breakfast, he does not have time for a love life but once meeting Jessica there is noway of staying away from her and their chemistry.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I honestly loved this book. it is a 4th in a series, and I had not previously read the others in the series, but still was super easy to follow. Needless to say the book just sucked me right in from the beginning and made me curious quite much, to how the story and events to follow would play out. What can I say, Ima girl whom loves romantic tales with a double dash of suspense mixed into the pot!

The story has the location of the character and a love interest, named Jessica. Sweet lady and owns a bed and breakfast! She reminded me of myself a bit. She had a tough boundary when it came to her heart, but yet even I knew from reading it was only a matter of time before those walls broke on down.

Bring forth Will. He is a awesome uncle who is watching over his sisters kids. She had some hard times and he stepped in to care for the two children. This made him very commendable in my opinion. He adored those kids and quite frankly, they meant the world to him. Was there more room in his world though to let someone else in?

Lives collide and Will ad the children are staying at Jessica’s bed and breakfast. Instant chemistry and they both had walls up I found (Will and Jessica) But, eventually, like anything that can stand it has the possibility to fall. And to me this was a passion ignited and a need like no other. But was this paradise meant to last?

Things start to happen that make things known that all is not all perfectly ok. Events that happened at the beginning that lead Will and the kids to Jessica’s bed and breakfast collide and all makes sense. And realization comes even if the place your at is truly happy, are you safe from the danger that lurks outside the walls itself?

As more of the story presented itself, more suspense and gripping moments occurred for me and I wanted to go deeper and know what would happen next. Loved it truly. It was very well put together and I enjoyed it form start to finish. I wish I could have spent more time with the characters and see where their paths take them next. It was really good, but still saying just that is an understatement.

I am so glad I got to discover this author, and this new series I can go back to and also fall in love with the other books in the series. It is a series not to be missed, and most certainly a author not to miss out on. I really enjoyed this book and the story line for Jessica and Will. The author surely does not disappoint!

Loved it!!! And I think you will too 😀

Dark Bastard is a Dark Sparrow Novel by India Kells. India is one of those authors that is a must grab her book as soon as it appears. It is a fantastic series and Dark Bastard is another wonderful book in this series. You have to read the books in order, so you get the full background and understanding of just who these alpha men are. Trust me you will fall in love with them. India’s stories are compelling and enthralling due to her carefully woven threads that are full of fear, frustration, and angst which is palpable. Dark Bastard is another action packed read with you on the edge of the seat whilst we journey along with the men that India puts through their paces and we right along with them.

Picked this book up on Kindle Unlimited and didn’t realize it was part of a series. There are a few parts that I was a little lost on, like why was there an issue between Alex and Will. Why are people calling Will to collect on his sister’s debts.
There are a few unanswered questions. However, I am enjoying the chemistry between Jessica and Will. They are trying to fight their feelings for each other yet seem to be losing the battle.
Jessica is really awesome with Will’s neice and nephew and includes them in everything. Love this story and I am truly going to have to go back and read the other books in the series to tie up the loose ends I have.

Dark Bastard (Dark Sparrow, #5)Dark Bastard by India Kells
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I am lost and feel worthless ready to meet my maker but one wrong call changes my life forever, but can we survive long enough for her to piece me back together.

Sam is lost within a world of evil and sacrifice, now that he is within his brother’s love he feels worthless. With their father still on the loose and knowing what pure evil he is Sam is feeling that the best for him is to leave this world and fine peace with his mother as an angel, but as he makes his last phone call to his brother he dials the wrong number changing his life, attitude and will to live to protect this lost soul.

Ellie is broken, her work although rewarding is deeply hurtful also, being the last call for someone who is in need and sometimes not being able to get there is becoming more and more stressful for her, but on New Year’s Eve she receives a random phone call which changed her life and she now can’t let he creep back into the evil world, they need to find a way to play his father at his own game and crush him once and for all.

OMG I have been waiting for this book to read and it did not disappoint, I love this series and all the brothers but Sam’s story nearly broke me. I do have to say that I would not recommend this book if you have not read the others in the series, this is definitely not a stand alone book, with that said this story is what you come to expect from India Kells full of action, twists and a well written story which has you engaged from the first word to the last.

As you only grab glimpses of Sam in the other book’s you know that there is a brilliant story lurching in his past and oh my did this story hit the right spot. Sam was always a lonely soul and getting to understand his darkness was brilliant and well written, the story draws you in and you want to grab Sam and just give him a hug. Ellie’s character is the greatest to compliment Sam, with her broken history also but the inner strength she shows when in situations is a great adventure to read.

Will they escape the evil clutches of his father or will they both be lost in the world Jamieson Finch has created you will have to read to find out, but I will say one thing you will not be disappointed. Can’t wait to read the next book in this wonderful series. Thank you India for allowing my imagination to come alive within your stories.

Dark Bastard is the fifth book in the Dark Sparrow series by India Kells. I have been eagerly waiting for this book to kit my Kindle ever since finishing book four. As I have said so many times before, Ms. Kell’s never fails to deliver an exciting read, and this story certainly delivered on that count. It is becoming harder and harder to choose a favourite from the series as Ms. Kells ups the ante each and every time.
This is a fantastic romantic suspense- full of tension, action, danger, chemistry, intrigue, dramatic developments, gripping and suspenseful details, complex characters, sizzle, romance, emotion, family , hope, love, and plenty more.
As with every one of Ms. Kells’ books so far, I was hooked right from the beginning, I really couldn’t put it down and was glued to the pages- completely devouring it in a couple of hours as I needed to know what happens. As expected, the story is superbly written, with a complex and multi-layered storyline that proved to be not only emotional, but also an exciting and incredibly engrossing read.
This is Sam and Ellie’s story- and OMG did I feel for those two. So much. They have been through so much and I was so happy they found each other- but that’s not to say there weren’t a few anxious moments through the story. I could feel their sadness and the weight of their ‘burdens’. Sam was ready to end it all- but a misdialled number connects him with Ellie- and so the adventure begins.
I love how Ms. Kells is a master of interconnected details- and how the details in this book help to build on the previous ones- building a bigger picture of the brothers and their on-going father ‘issues’. And even though this book could be read as a standalone, there is much to gain by reading the previous four books first- which really do help to build a ‘bigger picture’. Plus, the other books are superb stories in their own rights!
OMG- I have already pre-ordered the next book, ‘King Bastard’- as it looks set to be amazing!!! Can. Not. Wait!!!

Thank You, India Kells!

His father decides to wreak havoc and cause trouble. Sam and Ellie get themselves through this and prove love overcomes all. I love how the author ties together the two characters overcoming their issues to find the relationship they should be in. Though a bit dark, it’s also heartwarming and a bit of a tearjerker. You know you have a good book when you can picture yourself in the story. That is what this book did for me and finding out it was the fourth in the series was surprising. I did not read the first three but still was able to follow along. The characters of Will and Jessica are so relatable and the highs and lows of deciding on a relationship or protecting the heart are I’m sure decisions we’ve all made at one time or another.
There was just enough romance coupled with the suspense that kept me turning the pages through to the end. Always wanting to find out what happened next. Will and Jessica are amid finally following their hearts when trouble comes calling. In the form of letters and pictures demanding money or there would be consequences. At first the letters are ignored as maybe it is just someone intimidating them but as the terrorizing escalates Will must seek refuge with the very person he’s trying to protect. Can Will protect Jessica from some unsavory characters? Will Jessica get the bed and breakfast finished in her own design or will her wandering travel thoughts carry her elsewhere? Can they move on from past hurt or will it tear Will and Jessica apart? You’ll have to read this book to find out what happens next. As for me I am going to read the other novels to see what happened to the other characters that appear in this story.

Dark Bastard (Dark Sparrow, #5)Dark Bastard by India Kells
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The word dark is right there in the title, and it certainly fills the inside of the story. Mental health issues, trauma, emotional exhaustion.. it’s all here. The book starts heavy, with Sam coming to the unfortunate conclusion that he’s reached the end of his rope. He doesn’t see a way to keep going, and doesn’t want to be the “weak link”. By chance he calls the wrong number, and that was all the reason he needed to keep going. Even if he thought it was only temporary, to help Ellie.

Ellie was wrung dry from life, her job. Her soul was weary and dark, much like Sam’s. Them finding each other was a blessing and a curse. A curse because of Sam’s awful Father. This book was heavy, but by the ending there was light and I finished with a smile.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Being Lost is the first book in this riveting series about the San Diego chapter of the Satan’s Devils MC. I can’t get enough of the way that Manda Mellett paints such a detailed and realistic picture of her fictional worlds and takes the reader along for the ride. This story has many different mysterious plots and aspects that slowly unfold throughout the book, which keeps the reader on their toes. Lost is certainly one sexy Silver Fox and it was exciting to get a peek into his head and watch his transformation throughout the book, from an unsure man that is always second-guessing himself to a much stronger character, as the relationship between him and Patsy develops. You’ve got to love when a good woman brings out the best in her man. I can’t wait to binge-read more from this talented author!

Awakening is the third book in The Journals Trilogy and Holy Heck. This is a Romance Suspense that will freaking pull you in from the beginning and doesn’t let go till the end. To say this was an intense read/listen is a huge understatement. The narrator did an amazing job of bringing the characters to life and the raw emotion was chilling. There are some things that may ne trigger for some so I would highly recommend not listening to this with anyone under 18. This follows Quinn, Stone and Walker. She been through hell and back and is stronger than she realizes. Stone is helping her to be stronger and is doing everything to make sure Walker will never bother her again. You guys this is a must read/listen grab a copy to find out what happens next. Im looking forward to listening to more books by this author.
