The Book of Hours (Coin/Hours Duology Book 2) Audiobook by Maria Elena Alonso-Sierra

The Book of Hours (Coin/Hours Duology Book 2) is an Audiobook I absolutely loved listening to. This is my first Audiobook by this author and the narrator did a wonderful job of bringing the characters to life with different tones of their voice. I wasn’t real sure what to expect going in but once I started listening I couldn’t stop. I literally listened on the way to work every day and couldn’t wait for the drive home. This is a story about second chances and obsession ,family. What will this artist do? He will not stop until he gets what he wants. I This authors style of writing and fully developed characters make for quite the ride. I highly recommend listening to this fast paced story to find out what happens next. I’m looking forward to seeing what other books this author has written. P

The Book of Hours is the second book in the Coin/Hours Duology. This is the first book I have read by this author, but I will now read the first book in this group. It has some of the same characters, but I followed the story and enjoyed it thoroughly. The story starts slowly as the setting and situation are set up. Be patient because it doesn’t stop until the end once it starts picking up. There is action, suspense, and more. I was initially intrigued by the blurb dealing with an obsessive art dealer and an artist’s work, but I am glad I grabbed this thriller. The characters are interesting and well-thought out. The plot was not a cookie-cutter plot. There is action on multiple continents. I’m glad I grabbed this read and will look for more by this author soon.

The Book of Hours (Coin/Hours Duology Book #2) by Maria Elena Alonso-Sierra is an intriguing mystery with suspense, danger, obsession, drama, tension, emotion, threats, action, agendas, romance, challenges, 2nd chances, greed, high stakes, and more.
This isn’t my first read from Maria Elena Alonso-Sierra, but my first in this duology- so I was keen to see what lay between these covers. You don’t need to have read the first book in the duology to understand what is going on here. Although, having said that, it has piqued my curiosity and I am interested to find out what happened there, so I will probably hunt down a copy of ‘The Coin’ to explore in the near future.
While I did like the mystery, suspense, and obsession part of the story, Gabriella’s ‘voice’/internal dialogue really frustrated me no end. I can’t exactly pinpoint why, but it put me off right from the beginning, and I had to force myself to keep reading to find out how everything played out in the end. But, because I really enjoyed “Hanging Softly in the Night’, one of Ms. Alonso-Sierra’s other books, I have decided to re-read this book again in a few weeks to see if I still feel the same way, or instead, I may discover that I was just having an ‘off’ reading day with this book…. so, stay tuned.
Happy Reading…

Thank you, Maria Elena Alonso-Sierra!

Gabriela is a well-known artist and she is auctioning off some of her most prized pieces to benefit a local children’s charity. A psychopathic curator named Wickham is obsessesed with Gabriela’s work and is bound and determined to get his hands on a certain piece prior to the auction. Gabby isn’t willing to allow this crazy lunatic to have his way and she’ll do whatever she can to prevent this sale from happening, even if it means risking her life.

Richard lost the love of his life four years ago. There are secrets that have been revealed to him and he needs to find his way back to Gabriela. Lucky for him, someone is in need of his services so he finds himself at Gabby’s side. How long will that last though? Will she even have room for him in her heart?

This was a slow starting book for me, mainly because I was missing some context from the previous book in this series. I will be going back and reading it soon though as I need to fill in some holes. However, I don’t feel like I missed so much that I couldn’t enjoy this book. There was plenty of action, a small amount (but just enough) romance, and some twists and turns that weren’t really expected.

The Book of Hours (Coin/Hours Cycle 2)The Book of Hours by Maria Elena Alonso-Sierra
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Book of Hours is Book Two in the Coin/Hours Duology. This book is an intense, psychological thrill ride full of twists and turns that will keep you riveted to the end. Gabriela is a woman who seems to have nothing but bad luck which often leaves her feeling trapped within her past. She is stuck with the cycle of bad thoughts that run on a loop in her head, wanting to move forward, but something always seems to keep her from finding happiness. Her one true love is Richard, but surely after all the years that have passed, he will not still be waiting for her. Fear prevents her from pursuing the matter farther until he comes back into her life suddenly after hearing about mysterious accidents that keep happening to her.

Richard is still head over heels in love with Gabriela and vows to protect her from the man who is ruthless in his pursuit of Gabriela’s newest work. This man is determined to obtain The Book of Hours and will do anything to acquire it. The plot thickens and the suspense builds as Gabriela and Richard are faced with danger that lurks around every corner. With their entire future at stake can Gabriela and Richard stop the madman determined to acquire The Book of Hours? Can they find love through the chaos?

I really enjoyed this book and found the writing to be done wonderfully. The storyline, setting, and characters pulled me in, and I became completely invested in the outcome of their story. Gabriela and Richard are wonderful characters who I find myself rooting for as they fight to be together through distance, through bad relationships, and through all the chaos life throws at them. A love story of epic proportions as two people find a way to love unconditionally no matter what obstacle gets thrown in their way. I Highly recommend this Book!

I was gripped from page one by this romantic suspense novel which kept me captivated throughout. Artist Gabriela Martinez’s new work, The Book of Hours has put her in danger when an unscrupulous art dealer, Arnold Wickham wants to claim it. When Richard Harrison discovers the woman he loves, Gabriela is in danger he believes he’s been gifted with a second chance to protect her. However, Richard needs to stay focused as both their lives are in danger. Both the California and London settings were brought vividly to life by the descriptive narrative, making me feel immersed in the story. The characters are well defined, and I enjoyed the relationship development between the main characters. The storyline and plot twists kept me happily turning the pages, and I would recommend this enjoyable and engaging read.

He is determined and nothing will get in his way to get what he wants. This is a character that adds so much to the story. They brought twists and turns to life and had me coming back for more. sure enjoyed this continuation of The Coin series. Gabriela and Richard took this story to a whole new level. The spy game and time travel just made it so fanflippingtastic. I used to think The DaVinci Code was great but I have since changed my mind. I found the protagonist in this series are well-written and developed. The antagonist fit their role perfect. The story flows smooth and it just is. I couldn’t and didn’t want to put it down, that’s how well done it is. The tone of the story is total intrigue and suspense/mystery. I was totally hooked from the start. It’s a series I highly recommend. A definite must read.

This is the second book in the Coin/Hours Cycle Series. I haven’t read the first one but I will definately be heading to read it now. This book was really intriguing and captivating. I loved the twists and turns, the ups and downs, the danger around every corner it really kept me gripped

Gabriela has a very rare artifact in her possession. So rare that someone wants it and is prepared to stop at nothing to get it. Even if it means removing Gabriela from the picture.
There is also a romance as well between Richard and Gabriela. Their romance is intense and passionate and when Richard hears of the threats to Gabriela and her family he rushes to her side to protect her.
After 4 years of being apart could this finally be there chance to be together and be happy or will the danger facing Gabriela keep them apart for good.
I was gripped and captivated from start to end. I loved how I couldn’t guess the outcome which left me reading and hooked.

The Book of Hours (Coin/Hours Cycle 2)The Book of Hours by Maria Elena Alonso-Sierra
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Book of Hours is the second gripping book in the Coin/Hours Duology and the first I have had the pleasure of reading by this author. I did stop reading this book to go back and read the first because I thought I was missing out, but Maria made sure to include enough information if you don’t.
It is a suspenseful thrilling rollercoaster ride that had me checking everyone out around me. Paranoid much I admit but it is due to the writing of this author. With crime, suspense, and mystery this psychological romantic drama had me on the edge of my seat and looking for a anything hiding in the shadows.
The characters are well written, and this exciting world Maria has given us has everything to make it a great read and the pages turning. The plot is cleverly crafted and well-thought out and the story flowed well.
It started with a coin and ends with a book, a killer, a secret and an innocent woman but now the stakes are higher.
Unbeknownst to Gabriela she is the focus of a madman that wants her rendition of a book, but Richard Harrison is back to save the woman he loves from this Psychopath. Will they get their HEA?
I really enjoyed this story and look forward to reading more from this author. Those who like a great psychological thriller will love this duology.

Maria Elena Alonso-Sierra is an award-winning author with a unique point of view: to give her readers and fans thrills and kills, with a twist. Her characters are placed in danger in ingenuous ways while, at the same time, her novels are set in locales across Europe and the United States, reflecting her international upbringing and extensive time as a Cuban exile and global traveler.

The author’s writing career began circa age thirteen with a very juvenile science fiction short story; but the writing bug hit, and she has been writing, in one capacity or another, ever since. She has worked as a professional dancer, singer, journalist, and literature teacher in both the university and middle school levels (and not necessarily in that order) and holds a Masters in English literature.

All her novels have received different accolades, including gold, silver and bronze medals, as well as honorary mentions from respected book award institutions. Ms. Alonso-Sierra is currently writing full-time and loves to hear from her fans and readers. When not writing, she roams around to discover new places to set her novels.

Undeniable (Central Florida Stories Book 2) by Victoria Saccenti – Review by Lorralei Hoerner

Undeniable (Central Florida Stories, #2)Undeniable by Victoria Saccenti
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

5 Stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Undeniable is book 2 of the Central Florida Stories and I LOVED this story of Arely and Kurt. I recommend reading this series in order as you do meet Kurt in Book 1 a bit, but then this story picks up with his side and also includes other characters in book 1 into this book. I loved the connection of Arely and Kurt, they really had the sugar and spice that I love, drama, action, protectiveness, danger, and twists and turns that I did not see coming….and a love that never died.

Kurt and Arely grew up together years ago but lost touch after Arely left after a family incident and Kurt never saw Arely again. Years later the unexpected connection happens when Arely is in danger and in need of starting over with a new life and job..the past comes back with Kurt in unexpected ways. Arely and Kurt never forgot each other….and the re-connection brings sparks to them in unexpected ways. When very bad things start happening to Arely that lead her in a dangerous game trying to stay alive….will Kurt protect Arely when she needs him the most.

I really loved this book…..and reading to dive into book 3!!!

Undeniable is part of the Central Florida Stories series, but it can be read as a standalone if you prefer. You will probably want to pick up the other books anyways because Victoria Saccenti’s style of writing is absolutely addictive. This read is full of riveting action throughout the entire book and has some HEAT. The spicy scenes definitely add to the story and don’t seem like unnecessary fluff the way some mature books can. You will love every moment of Arely and Kurt’s story and hang on to each word closer than the next. Don’t miss out on an amazing romantic suspense read or you’ll regret it!

This is the series book in the Central Florida Stories series and focuses on Arely and Kurt. This series can be read as standalone but previous characters do reappear so I would recommend reading the first for a deeper understanding.

The authors descriptive writing style adds to the reading experience and the characters are well-written. Arely and Kurt show great character development as their story progresses, which I love. Their struggles and reactions feel real, and you can’t help but root for them.

The more I read from this author the more I want to devour, and this hasn’t been any different. On to the next exciting read.

Arley has not had the best life so far, when that fateful night happened with her brother, she did not know how she was going to survive it literally but over time her body healed but not her heart, but when night she is kidnapped realising that this is not just a abduction but human trafficking she need to escape and get her life back.

Although escaping the nightmare, Arley may hold the key to stopping the cartel so she is moved to Orlando to hide, until one day she sees someone from her past who she thought had long gone or had forgotten her, but can she put him in danger or throw caution to the wind and let him in her world.

Kurt has always had a soft spot for Arley, as a kid in the neighbourhood he knew what was going on in the house of his best friend but with college Arley’s brother and Kurt drifted further apart until one night he did not recognise the man who just beat up his sister to an inch of her life. Losing track after all these year’s he is surprised to see her in his club. Since coming back from Afghanistan, he is not really interest in the lifestyle but when he sees her behind the bar, he starts to have feelings and wants her to be his. So, when she is in danger can he protect her at any costs.

I loved this story; Kurt had been so tempting in the first book and was glad to get to read his story. They had both suffered so much and just wanted there happy ending and I am so glad it came together in the end. Arley was a brilliant character to match with Kurt and reading their relationship and chemistry blossom and grow was wonderful and brilliant to read.

There are triggers within the story which some people may find hard to read but I feel this shows the strength of character that Arley was and that she needed a strong Alpha to care for her although she rebelled against it at every turn in the end it was a lovely relationship to discover.
I can’t wait to read the next story and see which sexy Dom this relates to.

t should be said straight up that while this is book 2 if you haven’t read the first don’t worry as this can be absolutely be read as a standalone without issue. Arely and Kurt knew each other when they were younger but when they meet again as adults their connection is as the title suggests Undeniable. No path in life is ever smooth of course. She is on the run from the mob and his PTSD is seeing him barely going through the motions of life. This very talented author weaves a storyline for us readers that sees steamy moments, great characters and story twists weaved together to keep us all captivated and thoroughly entertained.

Undeniable
By: Victoria Saccenti

This book is filled with so many twists and turns. It is definitely a thriller that you cannot put down until you finish this book. It features a man who suffers from PTSD following his military background. This book is BDSM themed and some of what that entails definitely needs a trigger warning. But I truly loved this book. The characters are very well written, have fantastic depth and are flawed in many ways. These flaws are what make this a tremendous read. It features characters that are reunited after many many years apart (think childhood). There is so much more to this story than the BDSM which makes it even more wonderful. I definitely recommend picking this series up as I definitely don’t regret it at all and cannot wait to read the next book!

Arely had always had a crush on Kurt. He had been Nando’s friend. However, when she was almost 15, she had finally received an invitation to his graduation party. But she had gotten severely ill. 4 years later, Kurt had seen 2 ambulances at their house. Nando was in handcuffs and being led to one ambulance. The second ambulance showed a severely beaten Arely. Arely and her mother moved back to Puerto Rico.
Kurt had enlisted and was a Master Sergeant in the military in Afghanistan. During a mission, they ambushed his group. He had survived, but his men did not. Now he had to use a cane to walk. 12 years passed, and he had become a member of Club Nexxus. Arely was now a 2nd grade teacher in Nashville. A human trafficking ring abducted her. Someone named Padrino in Ponce, Puerto Rico, had paid for her abduction. A small operation had rescued her and the other women. She couldn’t return to Nashville. She went to College Park, Florida to stay with her friend Gabby.
Arely got a bartender job at Club Nexxus. After the staff party at Kurt’s, she told him about her kidnapping and an Acura that had been present near Gabby’s house for 3 days. She also solved the mystery of who Arelando was. They took precautions to make sure she remained safe until a strange man with a scarred face attacked her at the club. Kurt, Ethan, Pete, and Sergio took over, and they took Arely to Kurt’s home.
Considerable danger is biting at the heels of Arely. Why does a dangerous South American Cartel want her? Who is Padrino?

I’m glad to see the suit is back 😉🔥

Grayson is no stranger to deceit and betrayal and it’s almost made him jaded but once bitten , twice shy , right ?! He’s a brilliant architect at that and all men have an Achilles heel ….

Natalie is a real family girl and she’s willing to “ degrade” herself to save her family and her legacy and that speaks volumes of her humble character already …

Grayson is connected with both Remington and Royce and their childhood experience , it’s his turn to do over secrets and connections

At times I really felt sorry for Natalie because Grayson was not be taken on without gloves , he’s a grumpy force to be reckoned with .,,

Together Natalie and Grayson kept me on the edge of my seat with hidden secrets and agendas and the intensity these 2 share 🫶🏼🔥

Holding my breath for the next instalment 😉

This book pushed me far beyond my comfort zone. Despite that, I decided to give it a chance and delve into its pages. The story it presented was undeniably captivating, but it often got tangled up in excessive details of Shibari and sexual encounters. It was difficult to reconcile the characters’ deep intimacy with their underlying secrets, which constantly undermined the trust they claimed to have. However, amidst these complexities, the author’s vivid descriptions of the aerial routines were simply breathtaking, transporting me to a world where I could almost witness them firsthand.

The main storyline is about Cassandra following her dream of being a silk aerialist for Cirque du Lys. She finally gets to train under her idol and mentor, Chandler. Chandler is her professor and mentor and should not blur the boundary between them. The book switches the viewpoint between Cassandra and Chandler perfectly. The passionate, steamy scenes in the book feel natural and I loved the BDSM aspects such as bondage. Get ready for an entertaining show at the circus!

I was very impressed with this book. I was actually very intrigued with the whole thing. It was so well written that reading about the circus and the training you really feel like you’re sitting there watching it unfold before your eyes. It was so detailed that I almost forgot I was reading it. the love and chemistry that happens between the two main characters Cassandra and chandler made me feel like I was involved in something that I wasn’t supposed to know about. It kept me wanting to read more, I really couldn’t put it down. I felt like I couldn’t read it fast enough to find out what was going to happen next. I usually don’t grab romance reads but this book had me on an emotional journey, it was a little slow but the action, love scenes were well worth it.

I am so thankful this is the first book in a series because whoa… I love how Cassandra and Chandler’s chemistry simmers as the story unfolds. The setting is unique as they are circus performers, and it made their characters compelling and endearing, and I love them together. This story twists and turns like a good mystery should and kept me in suspense and at the edge of my seat the entire time! It was hard to put this book down and not read it in one, long sitting. It’s steamy romance, vibrant storytelling, and characters I couldn’t get enough of. I tend to shy away from a lot of steamy romances, but this one has my full recommendation. I can’t wait to get my hands on book two!

Who doesn’t love a forbidden, age-gap romance?! This is the story of Cassandra (the student) and Chandler (the teacher) and how their lives, present and past, intertwine as she becomes his protégé. I do love how quickly this book hooked me and Snow’s writing is excellent. I absolutely love the dual perspectives…it’s one of my favorite things being able to get both main characters’ POVs. I think Snow handled the spice very nicely in this book and though it was a slow-burn, I liked the pacing. There were a few times where some transitions were abrupt and that kind of jarred me; however, I enjoyed the book. This did end on a cliffhanger and I can’t wait to get my hands on the 2nd book.
