I don’t know how this series keeps getting better and better, but it does! This is the continuation story of Issac Hawke and Jack, whom we met in the prequel, “Night Hawke.” Several years after their first steamy encounter, Jack shows back up in Isaac’s life and boy does she have a surprise for him.
I’m a sucker for a great secret baby book and this one definitely doesn’t disappoint as Gwyn McNamee has filled it full of twists and turns that will keep you glued to the page. These characters are well written and have the chemistry to set a volcano ablaze! I really love this story and this series.

Loooooove this book! And I’m obsessed with Isaac! He protects the people he loves and he doesn’t second guess about anything. He’s also such a tease 😈 but it’s so so spicy! 🌶 Someone very important to him left him 5 years ago but now she’s back. And with a surprise! He definitely wasn’t expecting that. Book is full of angst but I’m here for it! There’s drama and action and spice and romance and I couldn’t get enough of it. The entire story was simply AMAZING and I couldn’t stop reading..I just HAD to know what happens next. I love the Hawke family and I know you will too! Please read this!

Jack and Isaac are an amazing relationship to read about! Passion, fear, suspense, action, drama, intrigue, steam – this book has it all! After a graduation weekend, Isaac met “Jack” and they spent the most memorable weekend of both of their lives together. As the weekend meets its end, they go their separate ways, but neither will be forgotten by the other.
For Jack, it is especially memorable because it gave her the true love of her life – her daughter Viviana. While she does resemble Isaac, Jack never told him she was pregnant – not that she would have known how to contact him, as he didn’t give his name or information. However, while she never forgets him, she is fully capable of raising ViVi on her own.
Five years after their unforgettable weekend, Isaac is working hard as the protector of the family empire and takes his job very seriously. When an old family friend begs protection for his daughter and grandaughter, Isaac is introduced to Giacomino – aka “Jack” and Vivi. Once he sees his eyes set in Vivi’s face, his entire view on life changes. This is no longer a job to help a family friend, this is a job to protect the woman he was never able to forget and he refuses to let get away again, and their daughter.
I love the world building, the emotions are intense and passionate, it was a wild ride and the second generation sounds like it will be as great a series as the first!

Five years after Issac had an amazing weekend with Jack in Chicago, Jack shows up in New Orleans in need of protection. When she meets Issac again, he is surprised to see the little girl that is with Jack who has a strong resemblance to both Issac and Jack. What will it mean to have this beautiful woman who Issac has never forgotten in his life again. What will Issac need to do to keep Jack and their daughter safe? The prequel where Jack and Issac (known to her as Nolan) is a must read so you have some back story.

Oh man… This book… I was literally refusing sleep to finish it. The author knew what she was doing with this story. I was ALL in from the first page. This world (even though I’m from New Orleans) still manages to keep me absolutely enthralled. I felt like I was living in this family. I could just immerse myself into the whole story. I am a huge fan of this author. I look forward to many more books!

Will this author ever write a book that I don’t love straight away – ever since the first one I read by her I’ve been the biggest fan. She writes the most amazing books with some of the best characters ever – I love that we are now seeing the families expanding and starting to read about the next generation of the Hawke family!
I loved the prequel to this book and it got me excited to read more about the characters and as I expected it did not disappoint at all. Jack and Isaac were wonderful characters to read about. You can definitely see the family traits with Isaac!! I really liked that the relationship built between the two characters – it definitely made the anticipation of things between them more intense!
There was a lot more emotion in the story than I expected – the author definitely knows how to get the tears flowing that’s for sure!
I am looking forward for more to come from this series!

So, we have a story about “Nolan” and “Jack”. We understand from the prequel that these two find each other and do not divulge their real names. Well, when Jack is thrown back into his life, they have to sort out one thing that she is unable to deny.. that they have a daughter together, who is named Viviana. Nolan is really Isaac, and Jack is really Giacomina. I know, all very confusing. But not really if you have read the prequel.
Let’s get into the juicy details. These two spent years apart, thinking about each other nonstop. When Isaac is thrown into being a dad, the first time Vivi called Isaac, “daddy”, brought tears to my eyes. Their immediate connection is amazing and what every dad should aspire to be. Minus the ruthless threatening and harassing he partakes in with his competitors.
This novel has amazing characters, great world building, and is steamy. There is an actual storyline, so it is not all smut. I work in a courtroom myself, so the fact that the author knows and understands how attorneys work instead of making it up is awesome. I highly recommend to any romance novel reader out there. I definitely anticipate reading Gabe’s story next, but we will see what the next book has in store! I cannot wait to dive into it!

I know “Jack” and “Nolan” spent a weekend together many years ago and I was beyond curious to see what cod come from it and here’s my chance ( cue excited squeals)
Isaac is the legal eagle in the family and he’s quite the ladies man especially in chambers before going into the courtroom #badboyyou#
So Isaac gets a text telling him there’s a family emergency so he heads home and he gets more than he expected, he find a the daughter of a mob boss in his family home and with a shock he also discovers she’s his weekend ding from so many years ago , the one woman he can’t get out of his system , the one no other woman can measure up to …..
So “Jack” ( Gracomina) and “ Nolan” ( Isaac) shared a passionate weekend , a taste of freedom that was short lived for Jack when she had to run away and face reality again , Jack followed , he tried to catch her but to no avail and the rest is history or it is until her family is in their family office , in need of protection . I must say these 2 keep their poses well and their recognition of each other was kept well hidden from her family but no so much those of the Hawkes….
So while danger is lurking Jack and Nolan have a lot to figure out and their new little family tries to live their lives amidst the chaos around them and while I’m thrilled I can’t help be be afraid at the same time because a man who loves the way he does makes him a target …..
I love the Hawke family ❣️they’re fierce , protective , loving and intense ! This time round there was tears , endearing moments , steamy moments and be still my beating heart moments ….
P.S. Little Vivianna is such a cutie and has her daddy wrapped around her little finger ( just love how tough Guy goes soft guy) and Fluffy is close on her heels 😉
I must say Jade has piqued my interest , why is it that she hates being a Hawke ?! Guess I’ll have to wait and see to see what happens next ❣️😱

I absolutely loved the Hawke Family series by this author. When I saw there was a spin-off, I quickly got to reading.
This novel picks up 5 years after the events of Night Hawke. Isaac and Jack still think about the time they spent together and although Isaac tried to find her after, he was unsuccessful. Fate brings the two back together with secrets and identities now revealed.
While I did not read the prequel to this, I did not feel lost while reading. Reading Night Hawke would have given more character depth and background for the characters, making this more impactful but I enjoyed the story and romance overall. I do plan on reading it.
It did take me some time to associate the name Jack with our female heroine because I am used to it being used for male characters, but once I did, I found that I really liked the character and started associating her with the phrase ‘a Jack of all trades’ which I think kinda fits.
The author has a way of using suspense to grip you where you can’t put the book down which is another really why I love her so much. She quickly started to become one of my favorite authors. I may need to binge read some of her other novels while I wait for the next book in this series.

I read the prequel and absolutely loved it. This book couldn’t come fast enough. I could not put this book down. I read it very fast, in about 1 day because it was too good. This book lacks nothing. This is a must read! I don’t think you’ll be disappointed!

Ruthless Hawke: A Second Chance Secret Baby Romance (The Hawke Family Second Generation Book 1)
Oh my goodness, where do I start? If you read the Prequel (which I highly recommend) then you know the history. If you thought that was good wait until you read this book.
Some books take me some time to get really into, but not this time and not with any books by Ms. McNamee. She grabs me from word one and refuses to let go and I find myself thinking about her books days later.
I don’t even know where to start but there are some moments you will have to stop to pick your jaw up off the ground.
I’m so glad I have the Hawke Family back in my life and I’m counting the the time until the next book is released. You absolutely must read this book.

This was a great 5 star read and a great start to the 2nd Generation of the Hawke Family. The author pulls you right in with her writing. Issac and Jack were great, you could feel their connection coming off the pages. And the twists and turns added a great element to the story. My emotions were all over the place. The whole time I was rooting for them and I was really happy with the ending. It was great seeing some of the characters from the other series, it felt like a reunion. I look forward to reading more from this series and author. 1-click and get started today.

This is the first installment of the Hawke Family’s second generation stories. Although it can be read alone, there are characters that were in Mrs. McNamee’s first series. I love that all the members of the Hawke clan are fierce, and determined when it comes to their family. Isaac is the son of Stone from the first series. He is a lawyer who works for the family, but his mind is focused on the a girl who he met five years prior to the beginning of the story. It turns out that the girl, Jack, as he nicknamed her, is the daughter of a mob boss from Chicago. Jack’s father brings her to the Hawke’s for protection. Isaac and Jack realize instantly that this is not the first time they have met, and Jack’s four year old daughter, is also Isaac’s daughter. The story is a suspenseful page-tuner that has you hoping no-one is going to get seriously hurt. I’m excited to read the next part of this saga!

Ruthless Hawke is book one in Gwen McNamee’s The Hawke Family Second Generation series. While there is a series before, it’s not necessary to read to understand; I , however, personally enjoyed knowing what happened previously, having background on the amount of family (because it’s a lot) and how the characters compared. If any family has been to enough, it would definitely be the Hawke family. Love, death, fires, clubs, fights, so much more and so much in between. Isaac is met with a blast from the past with a little blue eyed secret. The story itself was great and I love the authors style. However I was not a huge fan of the name “Jack” for Isaac’s counterpart. It just made it a little confusing but it’s fine. I do love the chemistry and read this quickly as I needed to know how it would end. I know this series is going to be good like the first, if not better!

Having read the prequel, I do believe you need to read it to truly understand the main characters’ and what transpired between them, however I would say it is still possible to enjoy without it as the author does a good job of providing the important details. I’ve read the entire Hawke collection so it felt right to be returning to the family for another suspenseful adventure. As usual I got far too emotionally invested in the lives of the main characters, Jack and Isaac, and how their story would play out. I enjoyed seeing how they had both grown since their last encounter and that there was still that person within each of them. The author did a great job in showing how the events that had occurred happened since their last meeting had shaped them, but also in re-building their previous chemistry without it feeling forced or cheapening the steamy scenes between them. As usual there were moments, I found myself wanting to scream and knock some sense into the pair, especially given the danger that surrounded them, but their journey wouldn’t be as entertaining without these moments of frustration. The writing style the author uses is easy to follow and the scenes flow nicely making falling deep within the pages so easy. I lost track of time reading this novel and I can’t wait for the release of the next book to fall back into the world that the Hawke family inhabit once again!

Having read and loved the prequel to this novel, and been left with a real cliffhanger I was looking forward to this novel, and I was not disappointed. This page turner of a story continues Isaac and Jack’s story, but it’s five years since their anonymous weekend together. Isaac is part of the Hawke family, who have an empire in New Orleans, and run everything from the courtrooms to the streets. They are known as being ruthless and willing to do anything to protect what’s there’s. When Isaac is told to expect a women who needs to be kept safe, he was not expecting a face from his past, the mysterious ‘Jack’. He definitely wasn’t expecting the little girl with her, who has his own Hawke blue eyes. Unfortunately, they bring danger with them, but for Isaac it’s now personal. This is a fast paced, action packed read, with great characters, and a gripping storyline. I was hooked throughout I and felt fully immersed in the Hawke’s world. I loved Isaac and Jack, and their chemistry was still sizzling off the page. This can be read as a standalone, but I recommend the prequel, and I can’t wait for book two in the series!

Wow. This book was amazing. After the cliff hanger of the first part of Isaac and Jack’s story I was read for this however the author total blew my socks off. This story is full of angst, danger, passion, old passions rekindling and secrets finally out in the open.
Isaac and Jack shared one weekend together which changed their lives completely. Both used fake names and both were hiding secrets about their families. When Jack leaves Isaac heartbroken they both thought they would never see each other again. But boy were they wrong. Fast forward 5 years and when Jack’s family receives threats Jack is sent to stay with the Hawke family for her own protection. Little does she realise that a member of that family is Nolan the man who changed her life forever. What follows is a story of secrets, betrayal, danger and uncovering truths that will change everyone’s lives forever. Even thought the feelings a passion is there still Isaac is wary however he knows Jack is the woman for him and whether she likes it or not she will be is. He will stop at nothing to protect her from the threat against her and also the threat that may come from a source closer to home.
Jack thought she was protecting Isaac all those years ago by leaving and not looking back. After all this time can she make Isaac understand her reasons for what she did and could he ever forgive her? Now they have found each other again can they finally be happy or will the dangers waiting for them prove to be too much.
I was so invested in these characters. My heart cried for them both at parts and left me wanting to bang their heads together in others. I can’t wait to see what else the Hawke Family have in store for us

Who doesn’t love a secret baby story? Add in the Hawke family and you have a great story. This is the second generation series so it’s not necessary to read the Hawke family series (but I recommend it highly! ) We meet these 2 in their quick prequel and now we get their story, with their identities this time! And wow what a read this was! I don’t give spoilers so I won’t give anything away or ruin any part of this story, but wow the chemistry here was enough to melt my Kindle. Must read!

Ruthless Hawke continues on with the story of Jack and Nolan, who we were first introduced to in Night Hawke. The two of them spent a wild and steamy weekend together but neither realized at the time that the other was not using their real name. Both must reluctantly return to the lives they spent the weekend escaping from but none more so than Jack who seems to be on the run from someone or something. Once the weekend is over Jack flees from the hotel room and the last thing Nolan sees is Jack getting into a car.
Fast forward five years and Isaac Hawke, AKA Nolan, has moved on with his life but has never forgotten the woman of his dreams. He has become successful in his family’s business and has a reputation for being ruthless both in and out of the courtroom. He is a man who will do anything to protect his family. Isaac is naturally surprised when he walks into his office one morning and the long-lost woman of his dreams is standing there.
Giacomina, AKA Jack, has been whisked away in the middle of the night by her father and brought to his friends, the Hawke’s, office in New Orleans. Jack’s father asks for the Hawke’s to protect his daughter, and his four-year-old granddaughter, Viviana. Jack is shocked when she sees Isaac walk into the office and is as equally shocked to learn that his name is not Nolan.
Both Isaac and Jack want to ask the other a ton of questions, but neither can act as though they know the other. To do so, would put Isaac’s own life at risk. Isaac knows immediately after looking into Viviana’s beautiful blue eyes that this is his daughter and immediately feels angered that he has not been told he has a daughter. However, he must wait until he can get Jack alone to question her because there is too much at stake for both of them to do otherwise. Isaac sees his chance to do so by offering for Jack and Viviana to stay with him. That gives him the opportunity to protect them from whatever danger is lurking out there that is intent on destroying them as well as ask Jack about why she ran off and where she has been all these years.
This book has passion, love, betrayal, chemistry, drama, banter and twists and turns. The chemistry between Jack and Isaac is undeniable and unforgettable. Isaac is fierce and powerful when it comes to the lengths that he will go to in order to keep those he loves safe and out of harm’s way. Jack is full of secrets and has led a life that has left her sheltered from the outside world. Due to the line of business that her parents are in they have kept her protected which has left Jack feeling stifled and more like a prisoner than a daughter. Love this book and the Hawke family! Great read!

Another book in the line of Hawke series, and one of my favorites so far! Isaac and Jack meet in the short story “Night Hawke” for the first time. Coming back together in this story, after thinking they’d lost each other forever, is amazing! And with some new surprises in tow! When the Hawke family is tasked with protecting the daughter of an old friend, Isaac comes in contact with the woman he’s been looking for for five years. And now she’s here, with a surprise! Isaac finds himself and his place in life while Jack finally gets a chance to pick how her life will go. Read this book if you love romance, action, and a great story! Definitely one of my favorite books so far!

This is the second book I have read by the incredible Gwyn McNamee, the first being the prequel to this book, Night Hawke. While it is not necessary to read the prequel it gives a more in depth understanding to Isaac and Jack’s relationship, and what made there reentering each other’s life so intense. Ruthless Hawke picks up five years to the day from the events in Night Hawke, in that time both Isaac and Jack have continued to dream of that weekend, the connection they shared and the what ifs. Finally learning the truth of who Jack is also put into perspective her reservations on sharing any information in the prequel about her identity. In the matter of just a few weeks Jack’s life is yanked out from under her and flipped on its head. Valentina Marconi, the Italian mob Donne in Chicago, Cutter Jackson, ruthless killer and her right-hand man, also loving married couple and parents to Giacomina “Jack” and grandparents to her daughter Viviana. Jack dreamed for years of finding her “Nolan” and telling him about their daughter but gave up when it seemed an impossible feat. Isaac scoured Chicago in the days after the perfect weekend trying to find any information about his mysterious perfect woman Jack. Valentina faced with an impossible decision, give her daughter over to Satriano, the most powerful Italian mob boss or turn him into an enemy. Her father whisks Jack and her daughter away to New Orleans, to his old military buddy Gabe, and his family to protect his girls. Isaac just finishing court receives a text from Gabe saying family emergency and rushes back to the office only to stop dead in his tracks. Fate, destiny, serendipity something was at work and after all this time had brought them back together. Jack overwhelmed by seeing the blue eyes that have haunted her all these years. Isaac overwhelmed by seeing the woman that stole his soul all those years ago in his father’s office he is rattled to his core. Little did he know the hits would keep on coming in the form of a beautiful little girl with the Hawke Caribbean blue eyes, his eyes staring back at him in his office. Anger, fury, desire, pain. All rush through him in an instant but one thing is for sure he will do anything and everything in his power to protect his girls from every threat. Will Isaac succeed at keeping them safe? Can Jack let go of all of her fear and live in the feelings, let herself have something she wants? If they win, will Jack and Vivi return to Chicago or stay with Isaac? The world the author creates is realistic, with a touch of fated mates to it. The pain they both went through in the years since they met, brought them to the point they are in now. Makes them learn to appreciate every moment and to fight the fear for something deeper. I can’t wait to read book 2 in the 2nd Generation of the Hawke Family, Reticent Hawke, June 1st, 2023. The mystery of Jude will finally be revealed.

Well one of our favorite authors has brought back our favorite family!!! What a great story! There is a prequel, Night Hawke, to get the juices flowing and to remind the reader just how much we love the Hawkes, as if we forgot! You definitely want to read it first.
Ruthless Hawke is all about Jack and Nolan’s paths crossing again and in the most unexpected way. The time that they have been apart has not dimmed their feelings at all! Tension, angst and hotness oh my!
The alpha, protective, hard headed, stubborn, loving, family we love, steps up to protect those closest to them. The discovery of the newest Hawke ramps up the danger and the protection even more.
This story makes references to the original family but does not deter from the current story. If anything, it feels like a family reunion with all the joy, fun, danger, and love we have come to expect from the Hawke family. This story has everything and is completely worth the wait!

5 Stars Ruthless Hawke (The Hawke Family Second Generation Book 1) by Gwyn McNamee
Ruthless Hawke is the first book in The Hawke Second Generation Series and holy cow what a ride. I knew going in I was going to love this book ,I’m a huge fan of the Hawke Family and looks like second generation as well. Her books are packed with action, drama, some suspense and just enough sizzle to keep you turning the pages. We met Jack and Isaac in tbe prequel so we had a idea of what was going on but dang I wasn’t totally expecting the story to explode off the pages. These two wow! I don’t want to give away anything. I highly recommend reading this book I can promise you won’t be disappointed I know I sure wasn’t. I look forward to many many more books by this author.

What can I say…amazing! The author comes back with this second generation and captivates the reader with action, drama, and steam! I was enthralled with the story and, as always, the character development, relationship development, and world building was outstanding.
I loved the teaser given before this book and picking up in their story to see how their worlds collide and intertwine. Jack and Isaac’s story is unique and makes for an interesting read full of twists and turns. Isaac will stop at nothing to protect Jack and his daughter Vivi, but can work out in the end?
If you’re looking for a fast-paced, steamy read, this one is for you! I can’t wait to read more of this new generation (pick up the first generation of you haven’t already too)!

Although you don’t have to read the prequel I definitely suggest you do to get more insight on the history between Jack and Isaac, and where those events led to this book. The Passion and heat between Jack and Isaac is tangible even after all those years apart. And with Dom gone you get to see what other mobsters took his place And with one bad guy down another Looms and the shadows over the hawk family. Isaac is a lot like his father ( more ways than one AHAHAHA )and I love how the author puts in certain personal issues that makes the characters seem more realistic and relatable to us nomads. Also the action will have your heart pumping and trying to quickly read to get to the next page To see what happens next, And boy is the next page you’d better than last. I love love love seeing all the OG characters being parents And saying where their kids landed the rest of the stories I cannot wait till June For the next book. Counting the days.
PS. That scene at the grandma’s house was hilarious to me. Lmao awkward

So, I read the prequel to this a couple months ago, and lemme tell you, I was not expecting how this book started. The author does such a good job of keeping your attention! I couldn’t put the dang book down! I was so addicted to it! Also, Isaac? The best. Absolute chef’s kiss. “There is no god, only me.” I was swooning over this man and their chemistry for so much of the book. Definitely one of my top books of the year so far!!

So this is the first book I have read by this author and this is the type of book I dream about. Great characters, a story that keeps me turning the pages, and a world that I just can’t get enough of. Lucky for me I can go back and read about the first generation of the Hawke family. But back to this amazing book. When Issac and Jack met five years earlier, they never knew what would come that weekend. Now here they are trying to keep Jack and her daughter safe from threats made to her parents. Can Issac keep them safe? Can he get her to stay if he can?

Whew the chemistry in this story is off the charts! I love a second chance plot and this one comes with a little more danger. Isaac and Mina will grab you from the very beginning. They have a past but no one else knows. Great story, great plot, and our favorite Hawke characters!

This is an amazing read!! There is a prequel to this book that I suggest you read but you don’t have to in order to dive into this one. Jack and Isaac have off the charts chemistry. It’s been five years since they last saw each other and there is so much they have to say. I was ecstatic when I found out that the author was writing a second generation series. I have loved reading about the Hawkes since the beginning. Jack and Isaac have a lot of feelings and outside problems that they have to work through. This story has action, romance, danger, steamy moments and so much more. Once I started reading I couldn’t put it down until I got to the end. This is a must read you don’t want to miss out on.
