I haven’t read many collections of poetry. However, I found elements of this collection that I identify with, which heightened my enjoyment. I believe that poetry is designed to make you feel something. At times Mr. Becker uses language that I am unfamiliar with. I enjoyed this, because I got the chance to expand on my vocabulary skill, and slow down to really grasp the meaning behind his words. I feel like some of the music references were probably missed by me as I’m not an avid listener to the Beatles. My favorite poems in this volume were the ones that depicted the author’s mental health and how he deals with it. Also, the background design contributes to the themes of the poems, and enhances the reading experience in a lovely way!

I am usually not a fan of poetry books, but I loved the eclectic cover of this and decided to check it out from my library. It was odd, full of different proses and quite good. It is not your typical poetry book. This book dived into everything from music to mental illness and quite a bit of everything in between. I personally loved the musical references especially those from the Beatles. It was full of beautiful, colorful pages. I highly recommend this if you are looking for poetry that is part Jerry Garcia and part Symon Maguru. I found it to be very hypnotic.

This book was not what I was expecting—from first glance at the book’s cover, it looked like it would be about music, however it was instead a collection of poetry; covering many of today’s topics and issues. The last time I enjoyed poetry like this was when I was younger and read the books from Shel Silverstein. To me, Euphoric Wonderland is the adult version of the Shel Silverstein books. Besides the captivating poems, beautiful art work was included. The combination of wonderful poetry and amazing illustrations made for a relaxing read! So, if poetry is your thing, I highly recommend.

Euphoric Wonderland is a collection of the author’s poetry. The poetry represents many different experiences of his life brought about in a moment of understanding while listening to the Beatles. He states that not that long ago, he discovered the music of the Beatles, on vinyl, and his life was changed. I am not sure how to describe what I just read if I am being honest. There were times that I didn’t really understand what he was trying to say and felt I was reading something similar to a Dr. Seuss book. However, there were also many poems that were very relatable to things today (p.s. You may need a dictionary, a lot of extensive vocabulary is used). That is what I enjoyed the most, his poetry used phrasing, words, lyrics, etc. that were recognizable by today’s society. I also enjoyed the aestetics of the book, the art matched much of what was being portrayed so helped, at times, with understanding. Overall, I feel poetry is a little bit of a lost art and for that alone, I enjoyed the process of reading this collection.

Euphoric Wonderland is just what the title says it is, a very eclectic collection of works of poetry with which to open your mind to new experiences, words and a glimpse into a unique mind. With both long and short poems to suit every reading preference, this is a collection centred around mental health and the challenges this can bring.
Detailing everything from birth to the present, people, music and places, this book opens up a whole new world of literary surprises for all, but be prepared, it is a wild and psychedelic ride.

This is definitely an “Eclectic Collection of Psychedelic Poetry to Stimulate the Senses and Open the Mind”, and each poem is thought provoking and intriguing. The author has a wonderful way with words and with the flow of words, he’s put poetry to music in a unique way. The poems use clever wordplay and reflections that you can tell are the authors honest thoughts and feelings. The poems definitely spoke to me, and I found the book as a whole an emotional rollercoaster of a read. However, the poetry is uplifting and inspirational and it definitely stimulated my imagination, and gave me some much needed time out, whilst I went down the rabbit hole!

Some of this wonderful poetry feels like it can be read as beat poetry. The poetry flows and rhymes effortlessly in the text. Words give homage to music and images float in your vision. The pages match exquisitely to the poetry written and gives the reader a visual adventure. Euphoric Wonderland will go on my favorites shelf!

This was a very interesting piece of work for me. I have slightly been into poetry in the past so I decided to give this a try. Oh what a wild trip it was! I did struggle with a lot of words the entire book and I feel my vocabulary is rather large. I would recommend having a dictionary as you go, although the rhythm flows quite well.

Inspiring and thought-provoking This collection of works was intriguing as it was inspiring. Many of the poems spoke to me emotionally. The author is very talented and has a way of stringing words together that just speaks volumes. The tempo at which the words are written just had me immersed. Each poem focuses on different aspects and the range is diverse. I was particularly drawn to the illustrations which added so much more to the experience. This will be one that I will return to time and time again. Kudos!

I chose the book for the name, but the moment I read the quote from Robin Williams at the beginning I knew that I was in for a good read! The poetry spans a wide array of subjects, ranging from mental health to the power of music. I definitely relate a bit to some of the author’s experiences and found the lessons behind the poems to be thought provoking and encouraging to seek the truth of them in your own lives. Something I particularly loved about this is that is the kind of poetry that everyone can understand and appreciate, which can’t be said very often. I can’t wait to see what this author comes up with next!

Right now, I’m reading so many books but this one made me put the others down. I have a sweet spot for poetry and musicals or music, in general. This book reminded me why I’m a writer (when I have time) because it made you feel raw and intense emotions you’d never thought of or dreamed of. This collection of poetry is very intriguing. It goes through a variety of emotions and situations that allow for the reader to identify something somewhere in the book. The illustrations and colors add to to the tone of the poems as well as to the overall book itself. You will definitely feel while reading these poems. Great collection.

It was quite a nice change to read a book just of poetry. I quite liked the unique poems. The author really did stimulate the senses. I really enjoyed the flow and rhythm of the poems. I felt quite able to relate to some of the poems and found that they spoke to me. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone. I would like to read more from this author.

I will be completely honest and admit this is definitely something different for me. I have never been greatly into poetry but this collection has definitely opened my eyes and mind to greater possibilities. I am so very glad I tried something new! I found it to be a real roller-coaster ride of emotions which was totally unexpected. If I had to pick a favourite it would definitely be “Dear Beatles”. To the amazing author I say thanks for teaching this old dog new tricks.

An Alice and Wonderland perspective full of twists and turns. Each title clearly brings home the emotion and power behind each and every poem. Helps to put your thoughts into perspective, a poem will speak to you and will just make you say ah now I get it. A great way to evaluate how your life is going.

I’ve read a few poetry-based books before, and I took a chance with this one. The cover is alluring, and from the get-go, it was better than I had anticipated. This is not normally my preferred genre but had gone out on a whim. Although I was pleasantly surprised with me actually enjoyed this book, it isn’t my favorite. The reviews stan true that a dictionary is HIGHLY recommended as the author pulls a variety of the language into the page with this one. Overall, it was an okay read, and I enjoyed it more than I thought I would for not being the largest lover of poetry.

This collection of poetry takes you on a trip. There’s ones that will make you laugh, ones that will make you cry, and definitely ones that will stretch your brain. It flows really well and you can feel the writers passion through it all. There’s hope and love all throughout it. Great for anyone that’s ever struggled in life. Definitely worth the read.

Euphoric Wonderland is Ryan Becker’s seminal literary work which was largely inspired by the relationship he has with his parents, both of whom are poets in their own rights and words. His father is a self-taught classical pianist, as well as an avid Shakespeare fan and aficionado. Those two elements of the fine arts were instilled in Ryan at an early age and were quickly absorbed through his father’s reading to him about famous musicians and writers.
As an avid collector of vinyl records, upon hearing the music of The Beatles for the first time, specifically their Abbey Road album, Ryan knew his destiny was to write. “Every step of this life’s journey is a learning experience,” proclaims Mr. Becker. He further adds, “The Beatles taught me how not to have hate in my heart, why we must help people in need, and to never hesitate to openly express my feelings in any situation.”
Ryan credits his even-tempered, soft-spoken mother for his development as a human being. He tries to emulate her cool-under-pressure manner as well as her kind and empathetic heart, which she shares with anyone in need. It is those characteristics he’s inherited that allow him to express himself through his writing.
Ryan’s childhood carried with it some undeniably emotional bumps and bruises, explaining “Everyone has struggles, and many have their inner demons. The only way for me to exorcize them is by taking them out of my brain and putting them down on paper.”
Writing can be a wonderful escape from reality as well as a fantastic way of feeling comfort within one’s true reality.
Watching reruns of Smallville on repeat, Ryan asserts that the character of Clark Kent, portrayed by Tom Welling, has taught him a few things about growing up. For example, it helped him learn how to speak and interact better with others—trust in people who treat him right and never disregard someone who has his best interests at heart.

This book wasn’t what I was expecting—as I thought thought it was going to be a collection of references from the 60’s & 70’s—as I love music from that era, however it was instead a collection of poetry; touching over many of today’s hot button topics. I don’t usually enjoy poetry, however this wasn’t too bad. The beautiful art work included with the poetry was captivating and I did thoroughly enjoy the illustrations. If poetry is your thing, I do highly recommend.

Euphoric Wonderland is an engaging and transporting collection of poetry. It’s beautifully presented with decoratively coloured pages that are a welcome change to the usual white on black.
The poems address a variety of topics – some charting the poet’s personal journey and highlighting his influences (much is said on the topic of The Beatles…) and others more abstract. There’s a beautiful and considered use of language in many and they flow – you can tell they’re being spoken out loud.
My favourites include Schumann or Human You Wish That We Knew Him, Carnation Formation For Our Admiration and A Shape Escaped, No Need for Breaks. They really captured my imagination and I enjoyed reading them!
This book gets four stars from me, and I would love to read more from this poet. Euphoric Wonderland is certainly “An Eclectic Collection” – I’d really like to read something with a clearer narrative or thematic thread running through it to draw me from one poem to the next. But the poems themselves are fantastic, and the collection is a great demonstration of the author’s talents!

Wow! I loved this book! Euphoric Wonderland by Ryan M. Becker is an inspired work of art! The pop culture references like The Beatles, Alice in Wonderland, Superheroes, and Pink Floyd really make this work relatable and memorable. From cover to cover the artwork and color palette is beautiful and trippy, very well thought out! These truly musical poems let you feel the rhythm and sound of each stanza. The title couldn’t have been more perfect! Becker writes with such humor and whimsy that even the title of each poem was endlessly entertaining. “Spelling Check You Break My Neck”. I laughed out loud! Some poems even left me breathless! It made me discover the weird and the bizarre in the best way! As a writer this book really inspired me to just write outside of the box without caring about “perfection”. I know this book will stick with me for a while. Euphoric Wonderland is an eclectic collection of poetry that delves into the world of mental health, tributes to rock stars, slam poetry, and even superheroes. With a flow much like listening to music this personal memoir was a delight to read. The raw emotions the author felt during the writing of each poem could be felt as I read through each one. Whether the author was feeling an emotional high or at an all-time low, those emotions were expressed so vividly that I felt and experienced them on a deep level.
As someone who has battled through mental health issues I could relate on a deep level and felt a connection with the author. I was brought to tears numerous times as I read through several of the poems. This book will make you laugh, make you cry, and will undoubtedly leave you feeling things while looking at the world through a different point of view. An uplifting and inspiring book that you will want to read more than once!

The last poetry book I read before this was one of Shel Silverstein’s when I was a kid. I remember running the gamut of mostly positive emotions with laughter as a common reaction. I say that to say, I don’t normally read much poetry, but I’m really glad I picked this book up! These poems took me on a journey, seeing inside the author’s soul as they bear it to the world. With the variety of emotions as well as the illustrations and the page design, I really enjoyed these! Based on the color theme – even without reading the title – I had a general idea of what side of the emotional spectrum each poem would be, which just made the reading experience even better! If you like poetry, I would absolutely recommend this book!

Beautifully written poetry. So creative and so perfect if you are a music lover also. Quite a variety of poems, some are deep, and some are lighter. A great emotional journey.

I’ve had a love for poetry since I started performing it in high school for my speech team. My first book of poetry I ever owned was a history of poetry written by African American poets in the 1900s, which sparked my own desire to write poetry myself.
This book reminds me of the outpouring of words and verse I used to love when I was younger. I find this set of poetry to be very interesting indeed and trippy, just like the description. While there were a few things I didn’t fully understand because of my age (Like some of the Beetle’s and Pink Floyd reference, along with some other millennial pop culture references), this was still a book that I felt I understood what the author was trying to say. I’ve read poetry where the authors dedicated their time to articulation and where you could tell they picked every word with care, and I’ve read poetry that felt like it was a tidal wave finally set free from the dam they had built within the author’s soul, and this book is the beautiful middle.
I absolutely loved this book. The rhythm, the cadence, everything about it spoke to me on a level I forgot I had. I’m now going on a deep search to see if he has more books, because I honestly couldn’t get enough of this one. If I was still in school, it would have been the next subject of my speech season. Highly recommend!!!

These are the poems of my dreams! I wish I were a poet that could take readers on a journey like this! The illustrations bring the poems to life as you wind further into the rabbit hole as the pages turn. The author’s mind is eclectic and deep as he shares his trippy experiences with readers. Every page is filled with raw emotion that hits deep in the mind and soul. I will read it again and again just to continue unearthing the message behind each piece. This is definitely an amazing read from start to finish.
